Even though Glassman heard Megami and her OPerator preparing whatever they were about to do,Glassman's full attention was on Caliga - their 'host' for this 'game'. Then,as Caliga mentioned that he was only changing one rule, this piqued his attention...only for him to be left in suspense, wondering exactly what he was about to change.
As Caliga revealed a teleporter that led to New Life...Glassman nearly began to question where he had materialized it from. For all he knew,Caliga could've fixed the one that he and Iria sent plummeting down to Element City...or he could've modified some data himself. This guy did seem to contain an abundance of power.
It seemed as if the games had begun after Caliga mentioned their objective - retrieve the teleporter...get to it? One of those. And they had to do it before it was too late...?
Glassman didn't wish to know 'too late for what?'; but it was established that they had a time limit...so they'd have to act FAST!
...before Glassman or any of them could make a move though, they were al split up by what appeared to be walls of dark energy.
'Well, looks like there won't be any cooperating for this 'game'...' Glassman pondered to himself.
Unsure if this really was an instanced 'stage' or not,Glassman made the next best move he could think of. If he didn't know exactly where Caliga was,he'd try to get as good a vantage point as possible.
Illuminated by a beam of green light,Glassman formed a thick, bladeless vine before himself. Grabbing ahold of it,he used a combination of both his own control over the vine and his weight to propel himself skyward. He wasn't sure if taking the vertical route was such a good idea, but it was better than doing nothing at this point. After all, time was of the essence now...

*Now came the game that Caliga wanted to play. He didn't much care for that game. He was more curious on what Caliga wanted out of playing this game than the actual object of the game. After all the ONB losing that floating base of theirs wasn't exactly a problem in his eyes. Losing it to Gate was a mixed blessing. The insane scientist hadn't personally wronged him in too many ways besides advancing his own motives. So actually getting the last unit into New Life meant nothing to him. If anything he could get it just so the ONB themselves couldn't enter their own base again or for the fact that Embera and Zane were deadset on opposing Gate too. It wasn't as though he could leave now that he was here anyway.*
*So this whole thing had four ways it could go down. The black cloak of mists that shrouded them had expanded and then separated them all with a wall of darkness. He couldn't see or hear anything so it was hard to tell whether they had been moved or still in the same place. Being separated from the others didn't concern him. His concern was finding the "foe" that was part of the game. They weren't told to kill or attack that foe so those likely weren't part of the rules. That took away his option of just blasting everything until he found what he was looking for. Said option would have also been destroying the other Navis in the area as collateral, but that would've been fine to him. So he would bide his time for now first to see what happened. If any confirmation of his original plan was successful... well, he would have a pretty good advantage of not being seen or heard once he started except by the Game Master.*

“Megami-chan! Get moving!”
“Huh?!”
By the time Megami could see the transporter, the expression on Caliga’s face, as well as the welling darkness that was rising; it was all too late.
“Get that transport-”
By the time Megami lunged forth, her right hand reached into nothing but darkness. Even her body, fueled by the synch ability of Unity, had overclocked and increased its speed with his uncanny ability she had been nothing close to reaching Caliga. She stopped, breathing heavily as she had endured the breakneck speed as well as her ordeal with subsiding the dark soul from the Dark Chip and taking the benefit of the gain of strength. Megami now looked around her seeing nothing but the darkness as she tried to find which way would be left to right.
“My apologies Xen-kun, I couldn’t reach it in time.” Megami’s eyes shifted as if searching for someone, “Xen-kun?”
No response.
It seemed this darkness interrupted with the communication with her Net Operator, something she was not use to. However, Megami had been prepared for the worst seeing as this had not been the first time her and Xenneth had been separated. The female NetNavi ran her right hand over her chest, feeling her pulsating core of her programming like a heartbeat. It was the one thing that kept her intact at the moment, as well as knowing she was not alone as she felt Unity’s presence still within her being. Walking forth, into the darkness, she searched out as if a child trying to find a parent.
“I will have to find my friends!” Megami thought out loud, “We must try to stick together to finish this...’game’ that strange NetNavi has begun.”
She only hoped it was not too late to help the other NetNavis caught in this infernal darkness

Oh, how Caliga missed this. Absolute control over the fates of Navis' with no idea of what he has planned for them. All that he had to do now was wait a bit longer and see if he can have his way with his goal. A simple task. GlassMan, for example, finds himself flying infinitely into a mist-blanket sky, never discovering the opening. This Navi... an interesting one. At a glance Caliga could tell that he played a more low-key role, but is far more intelligent than he lets on. Perhaps it's best to keep a closer eye on him in the future....
....and speaking of a close eye, now would be a perfect time to have a little discussion with one of his previous puppets. He'd come all this way and hunted for so long, why offer him only a prize that the others desire? After all, his desire is so obvious....
Caliga: Still hunting for her freedom, hmm?
Caliga's voice echoes through the mists, yet only Genesis can hear it. Before him appears the face of the Black Diamond. Is it real, or just in his mind? The answer seems as elusive as a grip on current reality....
Caliga: Alright, then the game is for you as well, but the rewards are a little different.
The vision of Caliga holds out a clawed hand palm-up as if making an offering to Genesis, his smile widening to one of amusement. Above his palm, the form of Fate seems to solidify , standing on its point in its current, sealed form.
Caliga: You are still no closer to freeing her, I see. And you will get no closer so long as I hold her bound. So what if....
The vision of Fate suddenly cracks, as the seal of the Black Diamond sheds off in crumbles, restoring the blade of legend to its true form.
Caliga: ...need I say more? Take the device before these Navis, and I shall free your sword of all that influences it, returning it to you in purity. Fail, and it will remain bound.
Caliga's smiling face darkens as the vision of Fate disappears from his hand, his own form following suit a moment later.
Caliga: .....don't disappoint me.

Iria (Vacations too strong.)
The black haze. The senseless eternities. All part this relic hackers game. So long as he held the keys to these age old secrets that even the governments engineers couldn't deter she was as helpless as a Mettaur without a helmet.
Nope... Iria mumbles exasperatingly. Dropping into a cross-legged sitting position. Her arms crossed as well resting at breast height. Not playing your game. I know how you work.
So there she sits. Alone in a sea of darkness no more than a few feet wide in reality.

Caliga's presence drifts to Iria next, speaking from the mists in the same presenceless voice.
Caliga: Oh, my dear. It seems that you're either lying or terribly mistaken. You see...
Iria's body suddenly leaves her command, forcibly standing at attention.
Caliga: I can make you play my game. But if you force me to do that...
The playful feel of Caliga's presence leaves in an instant, replaced by the expression a malevolent, sardonic tyrant.
Caliga: ...then you'll lose far more than just your life.
As if a wisp, Caliga's presence then leaves Iria again. He has something to attend to now....

Iria After regaining control of herself, the uncooperative officer resumes her throne in the abyss. Unafraid of the puppet master or his threats. Knowing full well regardless of what she did the end result of this game will be terrible for all parties involved.
You'll find some way to make that happen regardless of whether or not I play your psychotic game. I won't entertain you or your 'king' Gate you clown.

Glassman expected to at least reach a platform or something amidst the darkness...but after a few moments,it truly felt as if he were simply flying into an abyss...
'Well, going straight up definitely won't work...'
Slowing his rapid ascent,Glassman's body suddenly lit up like a blue fireball and he shot downwards at a 45 degree angle, propelling himself forward at what was known as 'zero degrees' shortly afterwards. If the vertical path was endless, then maybe a more linear path was the answer...? Glassman didn't know for sure...but as he continued forward like a burning missile,he'd keep his eyes open...just in case he glanced either Caliga or anyone else.

*That voice... it was Caliga's. But was it another one of his tricks? It was hard to say, just like it was hard to judge their entire situation. But Caliga didn't lie about his games at least, or so Genesis believed. The vision that he was shown and the fact that Caliga did not lie for his games was a double-edged sword at this point, however.*
"Do not disappoint him, huh..."
*He already had all the motivation he needed now and all of the right people. No, even if it was others this would be fine. He could hear and see Caliga when the puppeteer wanted, but couldn't see or hear anything else. So he went about it a bit differently to start, going to see if he could touch his hand to the ground and if he could smell the differences in the air. If he could still feel and smell normally then this would be a bit easier for starters.*

...that was all the time needed. Caliga smiles to himself within the fog of confusion, satisfied with how things are progressing. While the overall scope wasn't exactly what he'd planned, this turn of events did bring about a unique scenario that might be interesting in the future.
Now to see just how smart these Navis are, and just how well they play games. Without a word or a gesture, Caliga lowers the fog in the area, satisfied with his effects on the situation. As sight returns, the Black Diamond reclines in mid-air as if sitting on a lounge chair, a relaxed smile on his face, and a distinct lack of teleportation units anywhere in sight....

as the fog lifted, Jin gathered what he could of it in a vial, before injecting it into himself. If the fog was dark energy, then it would likely replenish his own darkness, if only a little. After doing this, he stood, now resting on his blade, which was stuck in the ground.
"So, tell me, clown."
As he looked up towards Caliga, a dark flame appeared in his eyes.
"Just what is it that you think you have won?"

Iria Haze lifted, sensory functions restored in proper. Iria sees the figures her fellow ONB officers and other would be 'allies' practically in the same place as before. Save for a new face. One she knows is KOS. For once however, she knows better than to bite at first sight. Obviously yet another trick.
So your plan is to tempt me by dangling the image of a terrorist in my face? Really you're about as clever as this fool. she gestures to Jinko with a swift motion before recoiling her arms back into their resting place. Who's the poor sap you made wear the costume? Some random citizen who wandered too close?

*The haze was lifted? That was... he wouldn't actually call it good. Because he didn't actually know whether it was good or bad being able to see and hear again. It was partly bad because he had to listen to that one guy again, who always got an answer to his questions in the worst ways possible. The teleportation unit was gone too, something that he was thinking about more than the rest given his reason for being here. Then there was Iria. Well he didn't want her going off assuming he was an image or figment of her imagination, so he walked over to her first and just pushed his hand in her face. Just pushed her head back without missing a beat.*
"I think I'm the real deal. You can try to find out for yourself too, you know?"
*By swinging really. He would be fine with her doing so even. Now he had to consider where the unit would be. While hoping that these two put together didn't bring forth some abomination that matched their combined lip. There were other words for it, but he would be nice about how he put it.*

Mildly surprised to see the fog recede suddenly,Glassman looked up towards Caliga...and noticed immediately that the transporter / teleporter was gone...
As he glanced around,Glassman wondered if the 'game' was still on...or if they had been played like fools. Judging from Caliga's smug expression, the answer to his question was likely both.
As Jin threw his question at Caliga,Glassman grew curious...if the 'Gamemaster' wanted to,he'd ignore the question yet again, for the sake of his own 'game'...giving more evidence how accurate Iria's description of him was.
Taking note of the newcomer as well,Glassman wondered what Genesis would gain from being here. The navi hadn't been there initially and from the push he gave Iria,he certainly wasn't an illusion like the fog had been...he paid attention when Iria referred to him as a terrorist though. He began to realize there were probably a growning number of Net-terrorists these days...
Putting the search on 'hold' for now,Glassman silently waited and watched...though he did contemplate searching while the others conversed with Caliga...it was possible he'd gain more info through the questions the two posed to the jester.

With a brimming flame in his eye, he probably would have been too busy to notice the tormented tears in Megami’s own lifeless eyes...
Within the light that reached towards the NetNavis once more after the thick black fog would drop, there stood a shadow behind Jin. Body wrapped in the dying colors that was fading from gold to silver, and chestnut brown hair that was becoming white as snow, and everything once bathed in white threading was a shade of crimson red, Megami stood behind the preaching NetNavi and with one swipe of an unusually powerful blade...she intended to instantly cleave him in too in the blink of an eye.
“Halcyon Brand...”
The female NetNavi had not turned to the rest of the NetNavis after sweeping the downward upon oblivious Jin with her augmented blade of a Program Advance. There was just that lowly broken speech that was depressing, as if she was overwhelmed by a sorrow that was not described thoroughly by the running bead of a single tear on her right cheek that glimmered in the light. Her movements were ominous, like that of a broken woman who was surrendering her very body to an oppressive reality, and the shift of her eyes over her shoulder revealed the emptiness that was now present.
What had happened to her in mere minutes...or seconds for that matter?
“Megami?!” the cry of the Net Operator over the communication link confirmed something astray, “Megami-chan?! What’s wrong with you?!”
He had not even given notice that he slid not a single Battlechip in his P.E.T, but yet it ran on a streaming auto-feature that overwritten his control, not to mention all logic. Megami grasped the hilt of the glowing blade that intended to cleave Jin in two from head-to-toe and finally she had turned around looking at her formal allies with that depressed stare into space and her lips parted as if she unsure what to say.
Without a single word, the shell of a woman swung the blade once more as it seemed to enlarge its form instantly becoming a reaching light that intended to void the field of everything...including a vanished hope that was like that reflected in her very eyes.
Buildings all around her would not be spared as they would become unstable at the base like falling trees. Rubble would fire in all directions like bullets from the tremendous force propelling them outward around the female NetNavi but whether her former allies in the area remained was beyond her knowledge or concern.
