Yet another assault, yet another set of failures. With a laugh echoing within his steel helmet, Vile raises a hand and releases a short-ranged pulse in the face of the oncoming assault. As if answering his beck and call, the ground beneath vile's feet shifts and quakes before the figure of something rises from the ground. Breaking light, the figure of yet another ride-armor takes center-stage, with Vile already in the pilot's seat. Dark brown with blue details, the beast of a mech stands taller than the Goliath, and appears to be far more imposing. Its heavily armored chasis is jagged and mechanical, with a gleaming, metallic sheen. However, the most obvious, and fearful, aspect of this ride-armor is its arms. While the Goliath sported a set of fists, this mech has a set of four forward-facing spikes at the end of each arm, spinning and ready to both pierce and grind whatever Vile desires to pieces. The group's attacks impact the steel body and fall to naught, the juggernaut of legend once again poised to counter effortlessly.
....but something is wrong. With X incapacitated, Vile now stands ready to obliterate his opposition with ease, and yet his attention is elsewhere. Something about this situation.... about the Navis here... obviously bothers Vile. He ignores the banter and insults, and visibly hesitates before stepping back in silence.
Vile: .....
Vile then looks around the group, laughing under his breath once again before shaking his head slowly.
Vile: Heh...
...Vile then teleports out of the area without an explanation.
Mission Success.....?
Rewards: None.
Area Lock Reversed: Navis may now teleport in, but not teleport out.

“He hesitates...why does he?!”
If there was anything more terrifying than seeing someone who had the upper hand in a one-sided skirmish, it was seeing that very same opposition not willing to act. Was it mercy or some kind of blind fear? Megami did not know. The mere sight of Vile not moving made her feel as if he was savoring his moment to end them all in the sleek new armor that spawned from the breaking ground as if it was rising from the bowels of bee itself. It was only with a pass of a moment that lasted like an hour in the eyes of the terrorized that he seemed to vanish all of the sudden from the area.
“We are...victorious?”
Her voice sounding not so assuring, Megami’s eyes were cast towards GlassMan. Even for her, who usually is certain and have such a bright show of optimism, the angelic NetNavi clearly displayed a show of confusion that could be felt to her very core. Uncertainty made her heart race quicker than when the battle started and came to an end, and her mind was not even aware of Xenneth or Unity’s presence as she stood up looking from left to right frantically trying to see what exactly Vile had seen that warranted her attention.
“I can’t log you out!” Xenneth warned in a cry from the audio communication, “I will try to heal you! Just give me some time!”
“Sir, are you alright?” Megami’s eyes had finally set upon GlassMan, decisive in action after hearing Xenneth's voice. Her hand reaching once more to assist him in standing tall if needed. Her own strength dwindled, but as usual, not so much that she could not help an ally. “My apologies for whisking you away, but you were certainly close and I could not...as my friend would say...’face myself’...if I did not ‘lift a finger’ to aid your escape?”
Her broken speech, as usual, made from broken sayings and slangs learned from her ditzy and klutzy Net Operator tried to convey her intention. Megami ended with an earnest smile, something probably comforting in this horrid moment.

Iria I don't like that guy. Iria mumbles. Picking herself up off the ground. Good thing this staircase was here. Noting the cover she had used to evade the buildings collapse. A faint white aura begins to permeate off her to illuminate the enclosed space.
Simply beaming out of it was evidently not an option. So she flexes both hands, engulfing them in fire and begins to tunnel her way out by super-heating a pathway through the stone. Once free the hands return to normal and Iria surveys the scene still several dozen yards from the other combatants.

The second mech's appearance seemed to give off a more intimidating air than the previous vessel. Had Glassman's body stayed calm and not tensed up suddenly,he wouldn't have thought of the Ride Armor as something that was a step above Vile's other one....
But when Vile simply teleported away...that was very odd, indeed.
Still glancing down at Vile's previous position,Glassman looked at Megami as she questioned whether they had 'won' or not, rubbing his chin as he pondered over the current situation.
"Even though he moved and didn't immediately attack us...something's very weird about this..."
"There's still a lock on the area,Glassman...it seems you can't log out." Shakeem stated, appearing on a video window next to Glassman. He bit his lip as he tried again & again to log Glassman out of the network...all to no avail.
In response to Megami's caring question,Glassman looked at his hands and the rest of his body, dusting off his shoulder briefly.
"I think I'm fine. But thanks!" Glassman replied, nodding to her. He could seemingly stand on his own,to say the least.
As she continued on,Glassman chuckled a bit. Not at her, that was for sure.
"Yeah,I was a bit too close there, wasn't I?" he said, accompanied by a brief chuckle. But thanks to you,I'm still ok. So,once again, thanks." Glassman replied with a smile.
"However...something about this doesn't feel right..."
Glassman's eyes feel to the ground below them, where the others who remained in the area still were...
'Hmm...very odd...letting others in...'
"...letting others in-?" he pondered to himself. Hopefully,he was wrong,as things would get sticky again if Vile decided to pass the 'baton' to someone...or something else...

With a great deal of difficulty, Jin slammed his fists into the ground, both ending this attack that got out of control, and out of anger.
"If he's leaving, that just means something worse is to follow."
He was less talking and more growling these statements as he gritted his digital teeth.
"Now, at least one of us, the idiot, is from the ONB. What do your files say about navis or other digital beings more dangerous than the one we just faced?"
And, of course, he was looking directly at Iria when he said this.

More dangerous...?
The whole of element city seems to recoil in pain at the sound of this voice, trailing off into wide-spread glitches as reality itself seems to fade in and out of existence in split seconds. With the voice trailing off, it brings with it an icy, painful wind that whips through the streets gently, piercing to the very bone
Oh, there are so very many beautiful works of art that outclass that Navi.
The tone of the voice, distant and lost in direction, becomes more excited with each word, as if anticipating a coming event with ecstatic mania. And with these words also comes a feeling of profound oppression, a gloom and sadness directly contrary to the rising tone.
Of course, none of those files will have anything to say that can save you....
The sky itself darkens to a midnight blue as an overcast spontaneously fades into sight above New Life and Element City. Paranoia and fear seems to seep up from the ground in the face of the unknown opponent, this paragon of sheer oppression. Fear itself in the form of a black mist that rapidly begins to rise and cover the whole of the ground; the network now in full control of whatever being prepares to make itself known.
...because now....
Darkness. Gloom. Mist. The power of this dreadful being rises in the tide of this sardonic evil. Taking form before the Navis in the area, the blood red and black garments of a lithe and odd Navi rises from the mist. His overall visage is that of a harlequin, complete the trademark diamonds that not only adorn his body in solid black, but also orbit him slowly, reflecting back the images of nightmares in their mirrored gleam. Standing before this group is the Black Diamond; a little known but fearful being. The reflection of Nebula Grey in Navi form...
Caliga: ....the rules of this game change.

“Is that...a NetNavi?”
Megami was far from answers Xenneth’s question, let alone GlassMan’s. Before she could even think about his words to pressed a bad omen because of Vile’s retreat, she found this eerie feeling that crept down her spine. This feeling was dreadful: one that would shame that icky sickness to one’s stomach and make the words synonymous with “terror” become homophones of pleasantry that made someone smile. This feeling that oppressed Megami, it made some small speck of her heart be gripped and squeezed by an invisible clutch and she knew not why at the moment.
“I-I...do not know...but...”
Megami stood tall, her eyes staring forth towards this net being of the net that was before them. With a swallow, she reached her hands around her mouth, cuffing them promptly as if she was holding back her breathing. It was as if any moment, she could vomit in the presence of this NetNavi the way she trembled. However, all of that body language could be questioned as her hands made a cone-like build and she taken in a deep breath that seemed like she was to calm her nerves, until...
“Excuse me, ma’am!” she cried, “You may want to exit the area immediately! There is no game occurring at the moment, but you may be in grave danger!”
...her cluelessness knew no bounds.
With tattered clothing and golden sheen faded from her enduring resonance with Unity, Megami’s riddled body was still as she awaited Caliga’s response after giving such a prompt warning. Her naïve and optimistic attitude once again making her oblivious at just what being of darkness she was addressing and if it was even a threat at this moment.

...Glassman truly hated when he was 'spot-on' about bad situations...it was almost becoming a habit,by now. A very bad one,at that.
As for this newcomer,Glassman couldn't help but shudder a bit from the being's presence. both eyes skimmed over the area, taking full note of the drastic changes that seemed to occur from whatever this newcomer was...especially the thick black mist.
Then,as if surprised by Megami's words toward the navi,Glassman made a 'SAy wha-?!' expression as Megami referred to the jester as 'Ma'am'.His vision wasn't much better than hers, for sure..but he was sure this was a guy.
Overlooking Megami's ditsy moment,Glassman's eyes went wide as he caught what the jester of doom had said...
"Wait, wait, hold on a second! TIME OUT!" Glassman exclaimed, shouting to get the navi's attention for but a minute if he could. "What do you mean 'the rules of this game have changed'...?
True enough,Glassman had no idea what was going on now...was this a test of sorts? A 'boss rush'? He had never heard of that second one,but Glassman hoped the navi would indulge them a bit by answering his question...

Iria Ominous voice with a tint of hysteria. Calling card of any darkloid. Sky darkening presence? Cliche. However there were only a few who thrived on aforementioned and negative emotion. The most likely of which to but their head in where it didn't belong? Caliga of course.
Iria runs to meet Glassman just in time to have her suspicion confirmed and he to yell his question. Ya moron. That's Caliga. Everything is a game to him. Lives, battles, actual games. He's a nutjob. mumbling to her compatriot, while assuming a stance more aggressive than the one she had with Vile. Masking her fatigue with grit.

With the appearance of this new enemy, and Jin about ready to collapse as it were, he decided to make a little game of his own. He holstered one of his revolvers, and emptied all but one round from the other, which he gripped in his right hand. "So, let's make a little bet." He said this to Caliga before leveling the barrel of the weapon to his own temple. "I'll pull this trigger five times. If I hit the loaded chamber, then I'll pledge my loyalty to you. If, on the other hand, I don't hit the loaded chamber within five squeezes of the trigger, then your game ends, and you restore this land to what it was before Vile came along. We have a deal?"
((OOC: I'll be using a 6 sided die, and 6 will be the bullet trigger))

*Not quite the air he was expecting. Seeing destruction of this level yeah, that made sense. It meant his suspicions were at least accurate thus far. What he wasn't expecting was the dark guy and the pain that the city seemed in. It was a familiar air, if only because the chill brought back perhaps the only one that had truly gotten to him in his life. This darkness and mist... it was a memory that he recalled quite well and someone that he had spent much of his time searching for in vain, a vain search that helped him determine that he would just have to be fortunate enough to happen upon the person in question again. Such an event had managed to arrive after all, moving through the city with haste and coming upon others. He recognized at least three simply because he kept those he saw in mind, though he also recognized that one of them was the guy who kept getting himself blown up before. So rather than announce himself straight away, he waited a bit. Why? Well if whatever the guy was doing this time was detrimental to his health it would be beneficial to not be standing next to him when it happened.*

Looking at Iria for but a few seconds,Glassman took in what she said about Caliga. Based on that information alone,it really did seem like he'd be a little worse than Vile...and Glassman could feel a bit of nervousness creep up on him. Lives were never to be treated the same as a 'game'...NEVER!
...and then as Jin offered to play a 'game' of his own,Glassman could've nearly facepalmed...it seemed at least one of them was willing to try 'countering' the jester with a 'game' of his own...
Glassman shot him a look that questioned whether Jin himself even knew what he was doing. With his expression shifting,Glassman thought it'd be interesting to see a jester-navi's response to such a game of chance.
'I wonder if he'd even play along with rules like those...' Glassman pondered, looking back toward Caliga.

“This is bad...”
Xenneth’s statement for the obvious was just as much as Megami’s obliviousness of danger. However, she seemed to catch up with his speed as now she stared towards Caliga after hearing such an explanation. She could not think of lives as a game, nor could she not sit by and do nothing. Her right hand reached over to her heart that raced from the last battle; the adrenaline coming from the overwhelming power from...”that.” She knew what she would do at that moment.
She would use “that” again...
“Xen-kun...” her voice hesitant as she spoke her Net Operator’s name, “We may need to use the other Dark Chip. I know it may be risky, but I am sure I can overwhelm it by using the Pantheon’s fail-safe programming. Darkness will not take over this body as long as I have it and you...so...
“I know.”
Megami had been surprised. Usually hesitant, it seemed Xenneth understood the situation. She could hear the sound of him accessing the Progress P.E.T. and the selection of the Dark Chip was an impending wait. It was like waiting to be reborn again, and she only imagined the feeling being as exhilarating as last time. She spread her legs in a ready manner, ignoring GlassMan and Iria’s form as she did not want to look them in the eye and give hint that she was preparing to engage this mysterious manic with his game. She just needed that spare moment that Jin was wasting away in order to heal herself. If he dared to make such a bet, then she would dare to prepare to fight to defend her newfound friends against this individual.
“Dark Recovery! Dark Chip, in!”
“Download!”
There was a rush of energy like no other! Within mere seconds, Megami’s health and vitality had increased to the point that her life force was shot almost close to its original threshold. She had felt as if she had completely recovered by the moment as the dark aura had begun to let a strange pristine, but ominous purple glow wash over her body. Her head dropped as she gritted her teeth. Her chestnut brown hair that turned to a tone of gold from her unison with Unity had covered her eyes.
“Megami! Stay focused!” Xenneth awaited for the Dark Soul to subside and Megami to once again be healed to her former glory.

How typical. Some here in defiance, others trying to play their own game, still others observing from the shadows.... ahh, how funny! That one had already played this game, and still needed help to stop playing. But that game would have to wait. Another is here, and one with more at stake than anyone looking on could possibly realize. The black diamond, hovering in a relaxed position, gives a yawn as he looks on with half-opened eyes, finishing up with a slight laugh.
Caliga: Oh, you've heard of me? How fun!
Caliga seems to "lean" back in mid-air, reclining with a relaxed wave of his hand. He ignores Jin and the Others at this point, sliding an eye to GlassMan with a smile as he does so.
Caliga: There's only one rule that I'm changing. But we'll get to that.
Caliga's grin widens as he holds out his left hand. In it sits a teleporter unit.
Caliga: In return for playing my game, of which there is no choice, I'm offering you this; the last unit on the network that can get you into New Life without proof of being with the WWW now that Gate has it.
Caliga's hand clutches about the device and draws it near as the Black Diamond's sardonic smile widens. Below this, the mists that creep across the ground begin to react to the Black Diamond's show, seeming to undulate at a more rapid and violent pace.
Caliga: And all that you have to do is take it for yourselves. But there's one little issue to get past first.
Caliga's eyes burst open as his sardonic smile returns in full, the mist now rising at a rapid pace in response.
Caliga: You have to find your foe before it's too late!
With the insane laughter of the Black Diamond ringing loud, The black cloak of mists that shrouds the ground erupts skyward and expands outward at an impossible rate. In a split second, the Navis in the area are separated by a wall of darkness. Sight and sound proves worthless, and the flow of data halts entirely throughout the city. In an instant, the group became a set of individuals, lost to this sea as Caliga wreaks his havoc. But the question remains; how will they find their foe when mere inches may as well be miles?
