As they continued to investigate the bomb would be when it detonated on them, blowing them back as a result. It appeared to startle them at the time, rolling about after it happened. And as the blast was reaching the end of its lifespan was when they made their move, staying around the area as they appeared to take in the remaining fumes. Though as they did it left them preoccupied to not be after them in the same breath while showing their seemingly insatiable nature.
Defense:
Devouring Those that feed without end. Their purpose clear, their intent known. Effects: On a turn of taking damage from an attack, can forego the offensive and set phase of this turn. While the bugs were definitely blown away by it, they crawled right back and starting eating up what was left over, seemingly inconsiderate over whether there'd be more explosions to follow.
Shine chuckled quietly at the predictable nature of them.
" Maybe I do wanna grab one to keep on the way out. A pet that'd eat anything I throw at it could be handy in my line of work. "
Whether or not that was her confession of intentionally stealing useless information during her "Info Bandit" endeavors wasn't clear enough to be determined entirely before she continued on.
" Main Attraction isn't far now. Maybe there's another way in than just straight through the front door? "
Wouldn't be sneaky enough for her style to just go ringing the doorbell. She took the moment to scan the Citadel for another entry point, but if all else failed, front door wasn't a bad option in her mind either. Just maybe still without the door bell was all.

Glad to see that the bomb did it's job. Though it wasn't quite usually his style, it was something he could pull off. Still, the fact that they were so... unbothered by it was a bit concerning, especially with their quick switch of focus to just going back to eating. "Good to throw away stuff with I suppose." He commented back. Though, it was hard to tell if that just meant she had more of the useless than not. At her question though, he gave a shrug, looking around as they moved. "We can definitely try to search for another way in." After all, going through the front likely had more of the creatures. Though, he took the moment to glance at the front itself as well, wondering if there was anything more visible now.

The front of the citadel appeared to still be in tact, so nothing had eaten through there just yet. Why might be the question to ask given it was straightforward and simple, there were two points of interest with the citadel itself. The upper portion of it looked strange compared to the rest of it, in that it was clearly built from parts that differed from the rest of the building. There was also a hole in one of the walls, large enough for an average sized Navi to fit through.
No actions taken.

With both their eyes scanning the structure, they were able to spot an opening in the wall that didn't seem too hard to reach. Shine pointed it out to Regis, in case he missed it during his own inspection.

Again, more of a whisper than a shout.
Shine's shadow-stepping was put on better display here than he'd seen in the past; appearing as if she "dove" into the shadow cast by the wall they were standing next to (not unlike one would submerge themselves into a shallow pond), and seemingly instanteously "emerging" from one of the shadows cast by the wall with the hole in it.
It certainly made the likes of her profession much easier, even if she didn't pursue banditry in the most traditional fashion.
She figured Regis had his own means of getting over, so poked her head in the hole first to ensure the coast was clear before carefully stepping inside, as if expecting there to be invisible trip-wires or some other sort of spy-movie cliche waiting for her just inside.

Before he could point it out, she was already on the move. Though, her method was pretty interesting. Clean, and perfectly suited for what she did. He didn't have anything like that, but... With a shrug, he threw his 'stick' in her direction. As it near her location, he vanished from his spot, and reappeared near the thrown object, grabbing as he landed beside her.
He poked his head in after he, giving a small scout as he trailed behind her.

As they poked their head inside, rather than the old group of twenty that they had seen did they encounter a separate pack. They were smaller in group size with about six in total instead as they were moving about. Though rather than eating away like the others they were clearly following a coordinated path somewhere inside of the dark interior. It looked as though they were heading, were one to know the design to begin with, to the area where the Dark Chips used to be stored. There was much of the citadel to be explored at large even still, but it was clear that these machines lurked about inside here as well.
No actions taken.

" If they eat all the valuable stuff, there'll be nothing to sell. "
Wasn't much that could be done in the way of stopping them, though: they weren't certain how many they could take on at once if they decided to attack them. They at least came in smaller groups, it seemed.
" Do you think we can try our hand at a smaller group of the stragglers? Or should we just move quickly before they chomp it all away? "
She didn't move far from ther entry point -- just enough to find something to take cover behind while getting a better glimpse at what other paths were available from where she was standing; the Main Lobby she assumed.

So as he thought, even more were inside. But unlike the others, they weren't focused on feasting. They seemed to be going somewhere. Being lead to something...? He wasn't quite sure, in all honesty. But the number was smaller than that of outside. Still, it was rather curious. "We can trying following instead. See where they lead us." After all, this entire situation was extremely... strange. Judging for an appropriate distance, he threw his weapon, teleporting to it when at a good enough spot, and began trying to see where the creatures were leading to.

As they made their way deeper into the facility was when they discovered where they were walking to. In a rather abrupt fashion they suddenly came to a halt inside of this final destination before they seemed to flow back into something in the large room... something the pair would realize might have been Regis drawing the uncanny connection in the end.
Green dots gazed back at them in the darkness that barely illuminated enough for them to make out what was there. A thirty foot tall monstrosity of a mechanical menace somewhat resembling a lion, having a set of steel wings coming out from part of its lower back while the mane appears as if it has a sharpness to it. A moment not wasted at all, from the mane came a hail of bullets as it struck with its claws shortly after with brevity between each. And worse yet they could hear the sound of something akin to cannons being loaded as well.
Defense:
Unnecessary.

As the machine revealed itself, Shine darted directly toward it; a dastardly decision for someone as evasive as her, but that evasiveness was put on full display as she drew its full attention during her approach, flipping over and skidding under each of the strikes that came her way until at last she leaped into the air, clearly in a position to come down on it with a powerful falling strike from above!
" Haaaaah! "
But obviously, that didn't happen.
No, she dove into its shadow to continue hiding while Regis took care of it. Why she had to choose THAT shadow over any other ones littered around the room was anyone's guess, but she was as good as unseen now and Regis was as good as unscathed, so it all worked out in the end even if it wasn't the most optimal.
Now was just a matter of where she'd crawl out next, of which there was no telling at this point.

The bots seemed to flow into something? And that something... was definitely not a good sign, making him sigh as he realized exactly why he did not have a good feeling since it cemented the connection. While it was a bit of a wild guess, it was rather... unfortunate to see that it was the case. Just when he was preparing his own defense, he blinked, seeing the agent make her move. That was unexpected. But certainly welcome. As she dived into a shadow, Regis pushed forward, spinning as his stick as it seemed to form into a spear. He spun, striking at the machine, before flickering into mirages as he rose upwards. Twisting in the air, he crashed down like a comet, his blade sinking into the ground, where a shining circle formed around himself. Much like the last time, except now with him as the primary target, Regis found his attacks ineffective against the goliath. It had taken the strikes without so much as flinching, nor did it offer its attention to Shine after she dove back into the shadows. She would come back out if she wanted to do anything else or it would simply contend with her next, diverting its focus to the one spinning his weapon as it roared loud and proud. As a result he could feel his systems shutting off as it happened, rearing back its claws after to be more thorough with its approach now as it lashed out with the sharp claws in its possession upon Regis time and time again.
Defense:
Net Hunter Effects: Can select one target. Damage from that target is reduced to 0 to Hassmallim. If other enemies inflict 20% of Hassmallim's health in a turn, this skill is negated for one turn. Passive

Surprisingly to her, Regis was unable to scratch the machine and it gave no chase to her whatsoever. A shadow of herself rose up from Regis' own shadow to step in front of him and act as a decoy for each of the incoming blows, though it was a bit taxing on her to do so in the moment as she herself continued hiding in one of the many shadows around the room.
It wasn't the only thing to come from Regis shadow; he would hear her voice coming from it next, as if she were sitting just on the other side of it speaking outward.
" Having trouble out there? Just nuke it! Isn't that your thing? "

Regis frowned as he the machine seemed to focus its attention on himself. Especially because he could feel... He had prepared himself to handle his defenses, but it seemed like his partner had other plans. While she handled most of it, his spear swung upwards, clashing against the fist, feeling the strain of it. "Thanks. While I would normally, its interfering with my protocols. It's good at dealing modifying its defenses against one individual in particular, in addition to everything else." As it was right now though, his offenses and defenses were going to be hampered though, which made the fight entirely more complicated. "If you can hit it hard enough, I might be able to force something." It would be harder this time around, since it would be just her.
