Glassman acknowledged Iria's words before she left...both of those seemed like sensible actions, considering what had happened to the network here...but before he had a choice, the Network of Duo's Meteor seems to shatter the sky...causing Glassman's eyes to grow wide and his mouth to drop,as the sudden appearance takes him by surprise.
"This...is NOT good..."
Even if he didn't know what this fully meant for their situation,Glassman could tell that Gate being in control of New Life would definitely not help whatever happened next to benefit them...
'What is that guy doing up there...?!' he thought to himself. Glassman had no idea what Gate was planning, but for such a huge Network to break the sky like this...it made him feel very uneasy.
Megami's awakened yelp caught Glassman's attention, drawing his glance to her. He felt pity for her as she realized she wasn't dreaming...
"No,it isn't a dream..." Glassman began, looking up toward the shattered sky yet again. "...definitely not one any of us would wish for,I'm sure."
With Iria having gone off to Sharo, perhaps it would be best for him to not stray too far from the city's network...at least, that's what he thought. He wondered if the local officials were affected by New Life's hostile takeover...that'd add even more to their plate...but perhaps he'd find out in due time.
"Somehow,I think I think it'd be bad for us to leave Element City at the moment..."
Was it because it might be in even more imminent danger than just now...? ...Maybe. But whatever thought pattern Glassman had going,he wasn't sure tagging along with Iria would be his wisest choice.

It had been some time since the girl's display, and she was making her way back to the group when she heard Glassman's words.
"Hey, we all knew the risks involved when we took this job. We're going. We're taking back New Life. Why? Because that's what we do. When a terrorist rises, we knock 'em down. When someeone invades our home..."
The fire surrounding the female navi resolved into a pump action shotgun which she then pumped for theatrical effect.
"...We kick them out. Now then, I say we kick the door down, and take out anyone between us and our goal. Before that, though....Beetle, I believe you know which prisoner I spoke of before. The people say he's a living tank."

....well, that's just fantastic. It was obvious that this fight was just to side-track anyone from trying to get into New Life, but this was not the result that Gravity Beetle had expected. Returning his gaze earthward, the spacial Navi then looks over to Serix and shakes his head.
Gravity Beetle: Can't say that I do. I'm still fairly new on this job, and I'm not familiar with many of our current prisoners.
Gravity Beetle's eyes then wander off from Serix, lost in thought.
Gravity Beetle: Something's not right here....
The ONB commander looks over to Unity, motioning to New Life as he does so.
Gravity Beetle: Kid, you're some kind of data manipulation Navi, right?
Unity, meanwhile, stares skyward in something of a trance. Seeing Duo's network laid out before him seems to almost hypnotize the Navi, as if he can now see his true purpose laid out in the stars.
Unity: ...I'm... an operating.... system.... running.... on the net....
Gravity Beetle glares at Unity's lack of focus and slams a foot into the ground, causing a slight earthquake from his substantial weight.
Gravity Beetle: Focus kid, this is important! You're the only one who had real contact with that teleporter. Did you get a data read-out on it?
Unity snaps out of his trance and shakes his head, re-gaining a focus on reality as the gray aura around him lightens and comes to life.
Unity: N-no! The caped guy took it from me before I had a chance.
Gravity Beetle's eyes narrow as he glances skyward again, mulling over the events leading up to this.
Gravity Beetle: Why would Gate send Caliga to take over for Vile, and why would Vile be so quick to leave...? No.
Gravity Beetle returns his focus to the group before him, addressing them as a whole.
Gravity Beetle: Caliga was bluffing. He's not working with Gate, he was just here to cause trouble. Which means that the teleporter that he hid in Megami was probably a red herring.
Gravity Beetle then looks back up to New Life, still analyzing the situation.
Gravity Beetle: I've never met Gate before this, but it seems to me that hacking New Life, much less the meteor computer, would be above his skills.... unless he had someone on the inside. And that means that he likely knows exactly how to lock down New Life and keep all of us out.
?: Not entirely.
A new Navi, one clad in light-weight green armor with an ornate helmet speaks from the side-lines and begins to approach the group.
Gravity Beetle: And what exactly gives you knowledge of his plots?
The Navi crosses his arms and shoots Gravity Beetle a wry smile before displaying his license information to the ONB commander.
The name's TornadoMan. Official World 3 liaison to the ONB. I think that makes me qualified to speak.
Gravity Beetle grits his fists at TornadoMan's words, the jaws of his horns opening in anger as he takes a step toward the wind Navi.
Gravity Beetle: And you have the guts to show your face after your boss pulls this?!
TornadoMan glances skyward and shakes his head.
TornadoMan: He's not my boss. In fact, he has my boss prisoner somewhere. I'm under NapalmMan's sect of the WWW, and believe it or not, I've been trying for years to keep him from getting to this stage.
Gravity Beetle's aggression doesn't wane in the face of TornadoMan's words. In fact, it seems to heat up all the more.
Gravity Beetle: And why exactly are you here? What's the point of showing up now?!
TornadoMan glances up to the open sky again, his smile darkening to a more somber expression.
TornadoMan: For years, MagicMan and I have tried to use covert tactics to stop Gate's plans from reaching this point. We've managed to slow him down at times, and have outright stopped him at others. But these cloak-and-dagger games have to end.
TornadoMan, arms still crossed, turns his attention from Gravity Beetle and toward the rest of the group.
TornadoMan: We need your help. All of you. Gate has the board set to his own advantage right now. He has New Life shut off from the net, and he's working toward his personal endgame. But there's one last way to get there; we need to travel to the WWW compound on Lynux Island. From there, we can take the last existing link to the ONB HQ, and from there we can reach the Meteor Computer to end all of this. MagicMan is out recruiting other Navis of renown, so we will have a fighting chance. It will likely be dangerous, but we can succeed if we work together.
TornadoMan unfolds his arms, his expression still somber.
TornadoMan: I know that it may be hard to trust me, but I am one of the only Navis who know how to get to Lynux Island, and one of the only Navis who can get us inside. So please, join with me and stop this madman before he takes this world for himself.

Red herring, liaison, faith...
All which words Megami looked up amongst the glowing book’s pages that perched on the rubble before her. As Tornadoman had shown himself, the female NetNavi had tried to keep up while weekly sifting her fingers through the page of her vocabulary aid app. Weakly, her right hand moved as it was sore, but she endured. Even her weak stare found strength as her eyes looked to Tornadoman as if he was a sign from the Gods themselves: a sign that she could make amends.
“You said...all of us?” she staggered to stand, “Tornado...man, yes? I am not an ONB.”
Her note simple as Megami shown a faltering expression lower than a frown.
“No, we are not,” Xenneth noted, “But we would like to help.”
The display image of the violet haired boy appeared behind Megami. His facial features finally exposed as he swept a finger through his bright violet hair, and his gaze piercing as he seemed determined.to look towards Tornadoman.
“It is the least we could do. We...we did all this. Not just Megami. It’s because...of our strength that I know we can be of some help. I felt it...just now.” Xenneth’s right hand affectionately stroked his chest where his heart beat from within. His eyes swept from Tornadoman to Megami for only a second, “I am not sure who you are, or who this ‘Gate’ is, b-but...if you show us the way, I would like to help...as long as Megami feels like she could go too!”
Compared to that second, Xenneth’s expression this time was like a picture engraved in stone. As he twiddled his fingers off screen, his rosy red cheeks shown on the display as he smiled warmly. Affection emanating from it, and at that moment, Megami wondered if she was the only one that felt it.
“Tell her how I feel...” The Onyx NetNavi’s words fresh in his mind.
“I-I am sorry if seeing the city is not assuring...b-b-but...” he swallowed, “The love...our love... that me and Megami have for each other will do much more than this!”
His voice was clear, but Megami’s thoughts were not! Like a thousand fluttering butterflies welding within, it filled her heart with an unsettling feeling! Anxiousness was skyrocketing and her body was stiff for only a moment as a feeling shook her to the core that made Gravity Beetle’s quaking steps be like a gentle tap to the sturdiest foundation!
“He said...” her thoughts racing as reality was overtaking her wildest imagined dream, “...he said ‘OUR’ love! ”
The innocent mild little thoughts that were like a head over heels school girl were absent placed by a burning hot sensation to her heart. Her face beaming with a smile and her cheeks matching her Net Operator’s in tint, Megami had reached to her face hiding them with a clasp of her hands as she seemed paralyzed with an overflow of emotion.
Regardless, with Megami’s reply or not, Xenneth made his declaration to TornadoMan.

Glassman listened intently as Serix spoke, taking in all that she said. Her words were full of truth afterall...
"Hm...you're right,ya know? Not sure what I was thinking, but taking back our HQ does have priority..."
Of course,Glassman had no idea how they'd get up there...until TornadoMan approached them, providing a route they weren't aware of...
Glassman made a mental note when the gusty navi mentioned NapalmMan,one of the ONB's past commanders.
'I wonder where Magnetman went off to then...'
As Tornado explained their plan of action,Glassman nodded. If all of World Three were still known as criminals,it would really be a big deal for a portion of them to work with the ONB...
Regarding Tornado's words,Glassman chuckled. He still had Serix's words fresh in mind, apparently. They were diving headfirst into perilous territory yet again.Seems that was in the job description...
"Well,if he's not your boss, then I guess it's ok to work with you..."
As those words left his lips,Glassman wondered how angry Iria would be to hear one of her comrades say that to a criminal...
Dismissing the thought,Glassman looked around at the others and nodded to Tornadoman once more.
"Anyway,I can't speak for everyone else, but let's put a stop to whatever Gate's up to! Lead the way,TornadoMan!" Glassman exclaimed, having made up his mind.

"Well then, I have no complaints if it actually gets us there."
Serix carried the shotgun across her shoulders, swaying as she walked towards Tornadoman.
"Now, you should already know that if you're lying to us, if this is some sort of trap, or if you are just wasting our time, we WILL end you."
She smiled as she said all of this. The smile was genuine, but so were her words. It was one of those situations where a smile was not a good thing.
"So, shall we get going?"

TornadoMan nods and rolls his eyes at the threats. As if he'd never been told that before.
TornadoMan: The ONB, WWW, civilian, even as low as the Chaotic, it doesn't matter. If we want to survive this, then we're going to need to work together.
TornadoMan's eyes shift over to the window with Xen's face, his smile growing even larger.
TornadoMan: Believe it or not, we're even going to need you there for this one. Navis' alone can't win this war. But you'd better get your hands on an EM dampener of some kind if you want to help.
TornadoMan then looks back to the group as a whole.
TornadoMan: I need everyone to meet me in Kotobuki, both the real world and the net. We're going to take this battle to Gate and stike in the heart of the issue. Make sure that you've got everything in order before you come.
TornadoMan then vanishes in a burst of wind, leaving the Navis of the area behind.

“EM Dampener?”
*THUD!*
Xenneth’s contemplation left Megami to have no attention to be given, only for a second. Her body hit the ground once more as she fallen aback, but she sat up right.
“Megami-ch...uh...” he paused noticing her expression.
She was smiling.
The female NetNavi’s head ran with a thousand words, but none left her lips. Playful fingertips danced around them instead as she breathed heavily and her feet pushed away slight pieces of rubble. “I am fine, Xen-kun.” her voice lowering to a whisper, “The best I have felt since I was found by you.” Her voice fallen to a near lull for the young boy, but yet, it seemed to not even matter what was said as she stood up straight once more. Her right hand patted at her dress dusting herself off bit-by-bit.
“Thank you again...everyone.” she said looking to each NetNavi, “Words cannot describe my appreciation nor my sorrow. Therefore, I shall act.”
Megami’s eyes closed and head lowered as she seemed to be listening to the silence amongst them, long after Tornadoman’s presence left them. She opened them slowly, her expression straight as if disturbed. “Excuse me if I shall be left alone to recover,” she said, “I believe we shall meet again if we all follow through with this task. Until then, farewell.”
Megami turned her back to the group as if she was about to walk away. “I am logging out now, Xen-kun!” her voice giving off a small hint of joy to be returning to Xenneth. However, as Megami became a simple radiant light that zipped into the air upon her departure, the sight of Element City was enough to make her feel as if her existence was a mistake.

Glassman looked at where Megami had been and stayed silent for a moment or two. It seemed her scars were much deeper than they would've thought...and he'd be fooling himself if he thought she'd be ready to go that quickly...
But now wasn't the time for that...
'Guess we'll see her later then...' he thought, before looking toward everyone else.
"Okay then! Seems it's time we move out. To Kotobuki, everyone!" Glassman exclaimed, pumping a fist into the air and turning into an orange beam of light as Shakeem linked him over to the said Network.
Shortly afterwards, static crackled above the others as an audio-feed was patched through to them.
"Let's move, everyone. We're all together in this,so let's do our best!" Shakeem said, attempting to encourage the group. He wasn't sure how much it' help (if at all),but they had to get a move-on now.

"Huh, who woulda guessed he'd have an operator. Sara, get to where that Xen kid is, he may need your help."
"On it!"
The girl in the screen behind Serix disappeared along with it as she said this in response to the fire navi.
"That'd be my cue to follow suit."
The fire navi disappeared in a crimson light that arced towards kotobuki net.

There was a time when Navi kind was free. Beings such as Forte or Eon roamed the earth, but they were isolated incidents. Now they act as though we all have the power to become so devastating.... yet only a handful actually do.
...or, perhaps, he had been wrong. In one fell swoop, this thought was counteracted just moments later. The Navi, still nameless after all of these years, looks to the building that he had brought ruin to so many years ago; the first step of this campaign. He had become the new Eon in this world; vastly less powerful, but an agent of destruction and change all the same. The delegates were gone, the license system had been brought to its knees, and yet the true purpose for this exhausting and endless fight still remains. The battle at hand still remains.
As I watch the opening unfold, I ask myself: why am I here? To see this continue.... or to take my stand, and begin a revolution of my own? Yes, it's time they see: It's time EVERYONE sees. NO ONE is above me! Not the government, not the ONB, NO ONE! I AM the strongest, and if need be, I'll tear down this system with my own bear hands if I have to. It's time for my stand.... it's time to prove to myself, to those around me, for my very designer. I AM the one: the final creation....
...these same hands. Even now he looks down and sees them just as he did on that day so long ago. Hands known for destruction, hands known to reap vengeance and give pain. Was this truly what he'd wanted? After all these years, it seems a strange time to doubt his own thoughts from so long ago. This was the path that he'd chosen, the path that he knew he'd have to walk. But now... could it have been different? Could he have stopped this if it had just been another way...?
It all begins here. I'll test my strength against all who oppose me, and strike them down with all of my might. They'll fear my presence, yet it will be my presence that brings them freedom. I now stand alone: my hand against all before me, and their hands against me. It's time for the beginning, it's time for MY day.... it's time to end this ordered chaos once and for all.
Such bold and arrogant words, thought in silence and heard only by the fickle winds. But still they ring true. A hand against everyone, and their hands raised in opposition. At times bravado is the only paint to cover, the only way to hide from the world true desires and longings. But paint can only cover so well, and hold for so long.
The center of the city, all but empty, is where the Armored Destroyer finds himself this day. The ONB is in ruins, the denizens here have all but evacuated, and those that remain have no recourse against a Navi of this caliber. The calm before the storm is all that he has now, and the memories of the day, the moment, that he set his foot on this course flood back in silent reflection. Why did he come here? Heaven only knows at this point. He himself doesn't even much care for the reasons; he'd had reasons for everything, justifications in his mind for every action. Now he was tired. He'd climbed a mountain just to see a taller mountain in the distance, and now he stands at the foot of his next climb, wondering if he'll see a still taller mountain on the horizon. Does it ever end?
....or does it have to end?

As the sky portrayed a once again beautiful day, Element City was still quiet and nearly desecrated.
In an alley nearby the heart of the city, an unusual rustling took place. Rats scurried away as a navi slowly rose up from underneath pizza boxes.
"Ugh... What.. what am I doing here?"
Walking slowly and weakily out of the alley, the torn apart navi looked to the sky.
"I see.. I'm still in this meaningless world. Ngh.."
The navi winced in pain as he fell to one knee. The scars all over his body were long and fresh cuts were deep in his data. He was barely able to move without feeling pain, yet he still got up and limped down the street. Everywhere he looked, he saw things destroyed, demolished. Some places, like the alley he rose from, were in below decent shape, while others were nearly decimated. Even the sidewalk he walked on now was broken apart as if an earthquake occured.
"What could have possibly happened here..?"
Staring into one of the destroyed business tower's window, he could see his look was no longer the same. His eyes were a cold shining red, and seemed to have grown taller since he last remembered. He continued on, not sure of what he would look for just yet, but he planned to go anywhere besides a hospital.

Walking opposite Rosario was someone in equally bad shape. A once-king in a stolen body, clutching his chest, a stolen sword sparking behind him as he paces. His silvery eyes masked by purple-black visors, his body clothed in royal silver, his jacket torn at the shoulderblades, where raw skin revealed the nubs of once great wings.
Unstable.
The word kept replaying in his mind, over and over, like a vinyl record caught on repeat.
Another word appeared, pursing his lips.
"Brother..."

Continuing down, it was very quite. It was as if the cyber-winds were the only accompanying person on this trek to nowhere. Suddenly, Rosario heard a new noise.
"What is.. this screeching I hear.."
He looked up to see a Navi in equally horrible condition. Rosario's shining blood-red eyes seemed to almost reflect off of the Navi's midnight colored visor. His body seemed torn apart, laced with clothes that royals would wear. Behind him, a mighty blade skidded across the ground, creating a decent amount of sparks and the distinct screeching he had heard. Could he have been in a deecisive battle?
"Brother..."
Rosario stopped suddenly. His sand stained and garbage ridden white outfit waved slightly in the cyber-wind. It was faint, but he could have sworn he heard these words spoken. Rosario tried to sense what kind of power this now weakened Navi had, but his factory reset really left him weaker then he would normally be. These kinds of wounds would be nothing if he was back with...
No.. Rosario thought. No more thinking about him. He's in the past. I won't let one stray word remind me of him.
As the Navi drew closer, Rosario craved to know more, but being cautious was more important. He had just awoken, after all, and much has changed. The thing that caused the destruction of this area could still be around... but.. for now...
"Hey.." Rosario pointed a sharp finger at the torn Navi, "Who are you? Are you the reason behind the destruction that has taken place here?"

208 rows of test tubes rested in a labeled grid upon a black table. A gloved hand slowly laid down and labeled sixteen more test tubes, the very last one glowing with a dull orange that swirled around the base of the glassware it was kept in.
"Columns of..."
Silent counting quickly turned to audible counting as a glass wand materialized in a flash within in the navi's right hand.
"...forty-.one, forty-two, forty-three and sixteen. Another daunting child's task. Is this what I have been reduced to? Counting and documenting inventories of samples?"
A slow steady series of beeps came from the laboratorian's left pocket. With a point to nowhere in particular, the glass wand let off a small white spark, and from the lab coat's pocket came a device that was snatched out of the air with his free left hand.
The device displayed a series of numbers and words next to them.
"However, this monetary compensation is more than satisfactory."
