Out of Character
Greetings, everyone! I have been given the reins on a nice, good, fun event that is more like a test for a new toy than anything else. I've been given a good bit of freedom with how the event flows from Zane, but, the staff hold the right to basically nuke anything I say from orbit if it sounds too outlandish.
I kicked out the new year designing something fun, and I'm just asking people to help pressure test to see if it's too busted to anyone who does not know its gimmick. With that in mind, the event entails fighting a Boss-Level Story entity.
Any Navis willing to participate are welcome, and sign ups will remain open for the week. Only one navi may join per member, so pick your options carefully.
You will get rewards for participating in this event. Regardless of win or lose against the boss, you may claim 250 Exp, 4,000z and 5 BugFrags for coming to help me out. If you manage to defeat the boss, I will double these rewards, and also will provide additional rewards (secret stuff from beyond this point) dependent on certain milestones you meet throughout the fight.
I request that you simply post your Navi, their version and Initiative Level when you come in. Any Initiative Level is sufficient to move before the Story Boss, but only Navis with Initiative will move before them.

Out of Character
The fighter's gathered at the call of a frightened business owner, the servers of his company dangerously overrun with what he would only call a "dangerous virus." As they all began filing into the most infected area, the caution that the business man stressed became more clear, as the entire air felt thick, a palpable sense of predatory fury and primal anger.
Embera would notice it, first, as a little Fishy virus went swimming through the air next to her, riding the cresting waves of static like a current. Viruses were always attracted to these large, overpopulated servers, especially the ones that were already at danger of falling apart to any amount of corrupted data. Except, this Fishy virus was really little, no larger than the pupil of her eyes, and was oddly colored - it was red. The ground beneath them felt slick, like it would give way at any moment to treacherous terrain, and as more Navis appeared alongside them, more little red Fishy viruses came swimming up from the ground, arcing through the air, and even swimming out of the random towers that acted as a structural protection to the Network. The Network was overrun with minuscule, red Fishy viruses?
At the back of the network, a towering firewall stood menacingly and endearing, the red wall a digital manifestation of the protection this network possessed. Or, rather, of the protection it used to possess - a large hole was torn through the protective barrier, the firewall progressing further and further into a state of decay, the little red blocks trailing up into an infinite stream of pixelated, corroded information as the wall shrunk.
Well, whatever it was, it had opened up that firewall rather brutally, the ground directly outside the cave in torn up like the vicious slashes of some great beast. Those giving it a closer look, however, would notice that the large, powerful gashes were actually millions upon millions of tiny little gouges, each one adding to the image of some terrible beast being on the loose.
Suddenly, the predatory sense of the Network became overwhelming, the looming presence of something watching growing stronger with each passing second. The little fishy viruses became more and more noticeable, each on slightly more off-red than the other, until an uncharacteristically large one suddenly leaped out of the ground and bashed itself against Nightshade's chest. This one was much larger than even a standard Fishy, at least one and half their normal size, and following behind it was a small collection of the tiny ones. The treacherous terrain underneath their feet suddenly began to make sense, as the ground rippled and more of their numbers came swimming up, slinking up and around Shine's legs, nipping at the energy coiling off of Xeels' body, and a whole swarm of them running over and knocking Grade onto his back.
What was this?
Those gathered would look around the Network and see these small red specks gathering themselves together, swimming up in a beautiful colonizing . . . no, schooling, display, as some dreadful realization set in. The Network was not overrun by a colony of fishy viruses - it was overrun by the collective, the hivemind, the school of fishy viruses they saw pooling together into a massive, red sphere above them.
The predatory sense in the room came crashing down as the red lines connected the members together, taking its form into a massive fish-like monstrosity, angular and fragmented by its makeup of millions upon millions of miniature units that made it up. Its uniform red eyes lit up as its power amassed, the beast glaring down upon them and releasing a cacophonous, drowning roar upon those that would disrupt the den it had claimed.

[Sea of Corruption] The world around it shifts and pulls, changing and warping away from what makes sense into something foreign and wrong, the very air weighed down from the pressure of the glitched ocean. Pandemic is the antithesis to well-structured code, and stands as the inverse of all things the Net understands. - Pandemic sets the field to Glitch panels any time the stage would return to Normal Panels, and these Glitch panels remain active for the duration of Normal Panels. ? - Status effects chosen by Glitch Panels are treated as though they were inflicted by Pandemic's Glitch. Pandemic is affected by Glitch Panels regardless of its Stage Immunity. - While Glitch Panels are active, Pandemic’s effective Bug Level is doubled for the purposes of determining its Level-Based effects.

" Oh no! "
Shine's eyes went wide and her voice pitched in panic as she noticed the red data swirling about her legs and traveling upward to the amalgamation that was Pandemic.
Surprisingly (for her), she seemed fully aware of the danger that she had found herself i--
" The world is bleeding! "
...
" We have to stop it before it thinks we caused it and tries to kill us! "
... very well, she at least recognized she was in some degree of danger, so those were steps toward improvement. Baby steps.
With utmost valor, she drew her sword and pointed it at the threat, signifying the target up above them.
And then promptly threw down a smoke bomb to obscure herself from vision so that she could strike with the element of surprise at a later time! The veil of smoke was rather small in diameter and also completely stationary, so while she herself couldn't be seen... it wasn't much of a mystery as to where Pandemic would have to aim to be able to hit her.
But it did make her feel safe! For now!

Nightshade -Turn 1[Nightshade HP=4800/4800]Ah crap, here we go again.
He must have whited out or something. He had no idea why he was there. Well...other than the fact that he was drawn there by something. He was not the only one it seemed. He did not like it one bit. He had this feeling of dread building up in his body, which was not good at all. Since his change, it only happened a handful of times and it only meant one thing and one thing only.
The navi started aching all over as the net shook and deteriorated. A multitude of red water viruses swirled around. One of them threw the navi on his ass by smacking into his chest. His reflexes were off ever since Rosso stole his Beast Form.
From there on, the viruses melded into a Cybeast. Nightshade could feel his entire body ache as his bugged data conflicted with the huge orca thing. So that's what people meant with the whole Cybeast conflict. Their code clash so bad they want to destroy the other before it destroys them.
Nightshade pulled himself back up to his feet, feeling aggression build in his chest. Like a full moon to a werewolf. He looked around aching, his now glowing red eyes trying to make out something to stay alive."fliping kill it before I go completely insane."________________________________________Defense Phase:

Revved watched as the multitude of mini-viruses swarmed over them like a school of...well,fish. Yet he couldn't help but feel impressed by such a monstrosity, as crazy as that seemed situationally.
"Maybe we can tame it?" he said in a half questioning way. A beast with this kind of power would definitely be useful in at least a dozen ways.
But before that, it seemed they'd have to survive the strange, rippling field and the...looming threat from the hive itself.

The ear-piercing challenge of the cybeast was met in full, as the first of the challengers came darting towards it. The strange energy coiling off of her body seemed to melt through a few of the small members sent to intercept her, as she raised her fist to pummel against the mass as it descended upon her.
A field of red energy amassed within the collective's form, a large wall of corrupted data suddenly appearing between Rosary and her target. While her fist pounded through the barrier easily, she came away with the remnants of the barrier clinging to her fist, the little specks of red remaining on the surface for but a moment as they descended into her code. The very same primal eyes appeared in the eyes of every member of the collective as her own mind was set ablaze, the fury of her next assault meeting a similar fate.
The large mass within the air seemed content with just sending down smaller schools of red fish to come and assault the navis head on, rather than deal with them personally, and Nightshade would find that his first attempt at an attack met the same defense that Rosary's did. The fruits of his labors the same as hers, he would retract his hand to see it covered in bugs, and the red data slipped beneath his code and into the surface, seemingly seeping away the power provided by his advanced form.
As the rest of Nightshade's assault followed, each strike against the growing wall of the collective reverberated, little red lines arcing from each member that he slashed as the destructive force carried out to the members far and wide, even observing as the collective on high dwindled. However, those little red lines also drew a connection to Rosary, her code suffused with enough of the collective that it could use her as a defense line. Each strike against the collective sent a wave of interference towards her, the cascading energy threatening to overtake her lest she be cleansed of her ailments. Revved was likewise met with very little resistance, his attacks against his personal cloud of fish producing similar - albeit less productive - results.
With the enemy's first wave of attacks down, the Pandemic collective roared from its place above them, the mass of schooling fish in the form of an angular orca glaring down at them. As it roared, the residual data floating in the air from its dense sea of bugged data whisked around the gathered Navis, the spoils from their invasion moving up to the collective. Every strand of data, every shred of energy they lost, the Pandemic collective gathered, its previously degrading form reestablishing itself in the span of seconds.
Descending to the ground below, the Pandemic collective broke down into smaller schools that, while smaller than the original, were still gigantic in comparison to the Navis. Maneuvering through the waters produced by Nightshade as easily as they swam through their own sea of corruption, the Pandemic hive mind allowed their mere presence within the Net to warp the world around them. The dense bugs in the air, the fires coursing over their bodies, even the rage within their eyes, seemed to make them dwindle down from their growth, but that did not stop them from coming all the same. Fields of red data extending across their bodies to form large fins, gnashing fangs, slicing barbs and any other assortment of aquatic attack mechanism were the only warning that the group had of what was coming next.
The cloud of red swimming towards Xeel crested up and breached, a sheen of water mixed with red static rising out. With a turn of its body, the predatory fish swam around the waters in the air, before turning to bat the amalgamation of water and red static, arcing with energy and crackling at a horrible frequency, at Xeel, using its tail like a paddle.
Nightshade's problems seemed small in comparison to everyone else's, but, his concerns were likely much larger. The small fishy jumped in and out of the waves beneath the navis as they charged towards him, the members leaping out of the air as they attempted to dive directly against him, trying to find chinks within his armor to sliver their way into.
The group charging Revved seemed more intent on playing with one another than they did actually ramming into him, each of the members jumping ahead of one another, over each other, looping around themselves underwater. As they approached, Revved would see the real reason behind this, as their constant motion had built up the pressure of the bugged data around them, charging them with energy as they attempted to crash head-long into him.
Shine's collective seemed the more straightforward of the bunch. Baring down, the members had forged together into a proper, miniature Pandemic, with large, razor-sharp fins protruding from the sides of its mouth and fangs to eviscerate her. The fires raging across its body seemed only to steer it faster, its whole body ablaze as it crashed towards her.
The collective running towards Embera kept up the guise of a fish for the majority of its journey, much like the other ones, before it suddenly disbanded and expanded, cresting out into a gigantic wave of bugged data to fall atop of her.
All the while, the large red orb in the sky, still far larger than anything running towards the group, waited, shifted and melded, still indecisive as to which aquatic form to take.

[Hivemind Directive] The willingness of a virus to survive is to abuse the systems of another to replicate. The Pandemic Program, at its core, is no different, and creates a massive network of resources to keep itself alive. - The Pandemic Collective consists of any target suffering from at least two status damages/effects. - Pandemic may split up the damage dealt to it from any source between any number of members within its collective as it sees fit, so long as the initial Pandemic affected takes at least 80% of the total damage. Enemies cannot take damage from their own attacks in this way. - Navis that are members of the collective restore 10% less health from all sources per status effect they are suffering from. Each time the target is healed, Pandemic is healed equal to the amount of healing they lost due to this effect. - Multi-Target Damage cannot be distributed among members targeted by the Multi-Target effect. Attacks that Cannot be Intercepted can only be distributed among members targeted by the effect. Navis treated as members of the Pandemic Collective are automatically targeted by any Hits All effect aimed at Pandemic. Such effects deal 50% more damage to all members of the collective targeted.
[Zenith Slash] - Pandemic eats all 10 of them for 4,515 Damage, sending 1,125 Damage to Rosary. [Rosary's allies may cleanse Rosary of Darken and Berzerk, thus allowing her to avoid this]

When affecting Auras, if the status damage ever exceeds the aura’s total power, the aura is destroyed. - Whenever Pandemic is afflicted by a Custom or Hidden status effect, it permanently adds that status effect as an effect it can afflict with Glitch of the appropriate tier. - Status Damage inflicted by Pandemic Cuts Undershirts and Darksouls.
[Bug Lv5] - Your Status Effects deal (10 x Bug Lv) 50 additional damage. - Enemies and yourself take (25 × Bug Lv) 125 Unavoidable Damage per turn. - Glitch cannot be cleansed on the turn of infliction.

[Power Leech] The Pandemic program’s unique structure designs it to thrive in an environment where others suffer, the life force of many used to sustain its ever-degrading code. - Pandemic gains Regen equal to the total health damage dealt by Unavoidable Damage to opponents each turn. - So long as its opponents sustained Status Damage last turn, Pandemic additionally gains 5% of its current health as additional Regen. Otherwise, it does not regenerate, and loses 10% of its max-health, instead. - ?
[Regen] - Pandemic restores 7,265 Health!
[Cancerous Growth] [Skill] The core of the Pandemic program, constantly reforming and reforging new members of the collective without ceasing. - Pandemic may regen up to 2x its maximum health. -- ?

#s://i~imgur~com/EodXWY3~jpg Nightshade Skibidi Billi Shast -- Shine Intercepted all of y'all's attacks, so don't worry about avoiding those. I mean unless you really want to, idgaf.

*~splish~* *~splish~* *~splish~* *~splash!~*
Shine... sneakily?... ran outside of the cover of her shroud toward Xeel, the water on the ground making her even more obvious than she already was by being fully visible now. When she made it to Xeel, she used her own sword as a paddle to bat the incoming amalgamation of infected water away before running back to her smoke screen once more.
*~splish~* *~splish~* *~splish~* *~poof!~*
As Shine vanished inside of the smoke once more, a chibified doll-version of her was tossed out of it between Nightshade and the incoming swarm. It was very clearly not the real Shine, but in her mind, the micro-fish didn't know the difference. Realistically, they were just content the chew threw anything put in front of them most likely, the doll being ravaged by the swarm of them that were originally intended for Nightshade.
"splish!" "splish!" "splish!" "SPLASH!"
Yes indeed, Shine ran out of the shroud once again, this time verbally RP'ing herself kicking through the water as she went to go intercept for Embera. Fortunately for Shine, the flamed-on mini-Pandemic had penetrated her shroud just as she had began to run out of it.
As she arrived, she slung up some of the water with her final exclamation, fully expecting her little splash of water to compete with the incoming wave of Pandemic.
" ... "
It didn't work.
So the only solution was to summon a multitude of shadowy-copies of herself and try again!
" SPLASH!!! "
Somehow, Shine and her clones were able to cause a splash so large that it actually cancelled out the incoming wave of bug data, needlessly exclaiming their actions as they had done so, of course. With no further use of the shadow-copies, they vanished like vapor as Shine made her journey back into her smokescreen once again.
*~splish~* *~splish~* *~splish~* *~poof!~*
And that was it. That was her contribution.
Well, minus flinging a measly shuriken at the large mass above them, but truth be told it wouldn't amount to much in the grand scheme. Pity points for mentioning it here, though.
