*The network of olden castles lining along Netopia, culminating in Rammount Castle itself. While the security around the general public area of the city is there, the majority of the defenses are situated about the main castle itself. Built into the great mountain, it serves as a natural fortress for those who would assault it. It served as a massive area from the mountain to the city around it, fortified by Netopia and the NIA both. Also around the area in weird places are monuments that look like mirrors, spaced apart far and wide.* *But even if it served as all of these things, there was those who were willing to assault it all the same. The crimson flickered into existence before it was pushed aside, Genesis coming about near the castle, but not quite there yet. But he wasn't one to waste time either, his right hand gathering up a condensed sphere of spatial energies and raw power. And he aimed it forward, in the direction of the castle as he fired. It would tear through the city and then multiply a few times while soaring forward, hitting some of the other castles as well as still gunning for the main one with the catacombs and all.*

As Genesis fires off his assault and makes a grand entrance, Resonance silently appears from the shadows behind him, walking into the shining light. He already knew that things would never be the same, but by this point he no longer cared. With a bold stride he walks forward and stands next to Genesis, forming his white energy blade as he does so.
Resonance: I'll scout ahead and see what I can gather through the chaos.
Resonance's armor darkens to a deep bronze hue as he dashes forward, quickly fading into the shadows once again as he makes his way toward the castle network ahead.

"I'll keep an eye out as well for folks."
It was a pretty carefree voice, but it was what the mirrors were for. He didn't have the full details, but he was asked to keep an eye out which meant that they must have been up against an opponent that they couldn't just 'know' was coming their way. So he was spending his time setting up areas to be a spy from way out of range of the general battlefield. Fulfilling his role as part of the team, Zaven would say.
To say that they were surprised by the attack was an understatement, the attack landing home in devastating fashion. But it would appear that the amount of damage wasn't as grand as one would have expected. While casualties were had and damage was done, it hadn't been wiped off the map just yet either, a sort of pale green field dissipating after. Resonance scouting ahead would be able to see the source of it, a female secretary navi, wearing attire befitting that position and having chestnut brown hair and blue eyes. A rather unassuming appearance one could even say in this present day and age, a clipboard with a blank checklist in her right hand. The guards and agents were scrambling at first, but were steadily starting to form a coherent defensive force as she arrived, as though it were a natural effect she had on them with her presence alone.
"Honestly... I shouldn't have to do field work like this. They need to finish that 'chat' already and get back to work. Listen well! Our opponent is a navi just the same as you or I! The moment you don't control your fear is the moment you've already admitted defeat!"
It was literally being a problem now thanks to certain people. But she supposed it didn't have to have to flex a bit sometimes too. Just she didn't exactly want to have to do so with Genesis of all people. Even with her and their combined work force she didn't see this ending favorably for them very easily, if at all. They had large cannons that were armed, the same sort of pale green covering them in an instant as her eyes seemed to glow for a moment. And when the shots were fired, they focused in on their target of the Onyx Overlord and crashed down with magnified force. The other part of their reinforcements would be arriving shortly, but for now it would have to be a full-blown battle between their ideals.

Resonance was able to effortlessly sneak past the guards... apparently... and make his way to the front lines. The situation instantly changed as the Netopian forces scramble and make their front. However it's obvious from the female Navi's words that they fear Genesis far more than he fears them.
In Resonance's mind, there are two main targets here; the first is the artillery, which would likely be easy to disable and make things easier for Genesis. However, by that same token, these blasts would likely not slow down the Onyx Overlord, and such an act would reveal Resonance to the opposing forces. The second target was the girl with the clip-board. She was obviously in control of the situation and had command of the front lines, and on top of that she didn't seem terribly tough, but something about that seemed wrong. She was almost TOO exposed at this point, which told Resonance that she was more than she seemed. Yes, she had some ace up her sleve, and would likely be a poor target to reveal himself to. On top of this, the gentleman in Resonance simply won't allow him to back-stab a lady, regardless of the stakes...
No, there was another goal here. Instead of making himself known, Resonance stealthily attempts to enter the base amid the flood of soldiers coming out, continuing to hold onto the goal of the mission first and foremost.

"I will be relying on you."
*Resonance would be able to get a good look for him there, one that he otherwise wouldn't obtain personally. But seeing that the damage wasn't as extreme as he desired made him suspect that one of their top agents were already responding to the situation. That meant that hit the right spot after all. And even more surprisingly they returned fire in a timely fashion, lifting up his hand as the shots exploded upon impacting him. Although surrounding him after was a small crater for their explosive force with his hand still outstretched, lowering it after. This called for more powerful attacks then, six swords being crafted that started to blaze with a mighty force. They each shot off in the direction the shots came from, aiming to destroy those first as he started to charge forward as well, firing more of his long range shots that he started this conflict off with. He would have to tear through that defensive barrier and their enhanced offense. It was time to see how much of a challenge this would truly present for them, both directly and indirectly.*

Talk about tenacious as ever. His counterattack was in greater volume than his initial strike, but that was expected from him. Another wall formed over the first one that was used, both trembling under the weight of the explosive force that he was displaying. She could say she accomplished what most did not: weather a barrage from Genesis and not immediately break upon the wave of force that he was. As the literal army of one made his way closer, she paused for a moment, looking away for a bit. She was certain that she noticed something just then... no, she had to focus for now. While they pulled up more weapons to use and fire in an onslaught of force being further amplified in the literal warzone...
Resonance was making his way inside to find what he wanted. The defenses inside had thinned out considerably as they all went outside to defend against the assault of the Overlord, but as he proceeded further inside he had a feeling as though he were being watched. As though something was lurking inside, hunting after him now as some sort of animalistic predator.

Resonance could feel the presence... it was terribly familiar. Maybe not these exact eyes, but he knew very well this feeling... and if it was what he thought, then an encounter was now inevitable.
Resonance makes his way through the area, not entirely sure of where he's going, until at last he reaches a large open room right off of the beaten path. The exact use for this room was likely for some form of training, but right now it didn't matter. Rather than press on, Resonance uncloaks himself in the center of the area and lets loose a deep and full sigh. He looks down to the com-link on his wrist and activates it, speaking a message to his partner as he does so.
Resonance: Genesis, I've been compromised. Things are likely to be a bit slower than expected on my end.
Resonance closes out his link as to not be disturbed as he closes his eyes. A white power rises from his feet and engulfs his entire form in an aura not unlike the sun itself. Now, instead of relying on stealth, he stands in the middle of an open area while shining like the sun itself.
SP-Resonance: I know that you're here. You may as well come out so that we can do this properly.

*It had been some time since he got to have a full blown confrontation like this. At war against a defending force, he couldn't help but form a small smile. It was a bit of nostalgia that caused it, letting it wash over him for a bit as he kept up his charge. The only thing that slowed him down for a moment was hearing Resonance speak up, being compromised. They had someone on the inside that was waiting for him still? That was pretty clever of them to still account for something like that. Then he would just have to up the ante for them all more than before, doing a lunging jump forward as the black data swirled from his right gauntlet, his constant companion in Fate forming in his hand. And then he swung the sword, unleashing a veritable storm of energy to hail down upon the mountain, expecting to meet resistance enough where Resonance wouldn't be in harm's way as a result.*

"Oh crap."
There was a definite change in force that she could feel then. And for good measure too, as the defensive walls she made shattered under the weight of the combined strength of himself and Fate both. She managed to form another wall before it was too late, but that wasn't going to hold for another assault from him and he was only being slowed down so much by the ongoing attacks. She would have to act fast then in order to try and tip the scales, letting their forces continue their bombardment as she took a deep breath, gathering herself as she prepared for what would be her own counterattack.
As Resonance went to make his stand, he wasn't met with words, but instead vibrations. It had snaked it way along the ground into the large room, coiling about in the walking sunlight that unveiled its true form. A thirty foot tall, or rather, 'long', monstrosity. A mechanical menace somewhat resembling a serpent, it had a set of steel wings coming out from part of its long body. They can be used as thrusters to speed up the speed at which the serpent darted about the field. A sort of shrill noise was coming from it that was grating on the ears, but by all rights this thing was far from what could be called a navi. From the wings was a volley of rounds fired, melting through what it would touch as it continued to hail its target.

As the final wall rises, another force suddenly makes itself known. Like a comet slamming into the wall from the outside or a rail-gun firing at point-blank, a force unlike Genesis, one with pin-point damage emerges The ground quakes and a bright flare rises from the edge of the wall as a Navi appears next to the onyx overlord, looking to the legendary Navi with a bright and heated smile.
Challenger: Nice t'see 'ya again, Genesis!!
Reeling back, Challenger focuses his tremendous strength into one more blow against the wall. His herculean strength comes to bear against the wall, joining Genesis' tremendous power for a fantastic show of opposition against the NIA.
Resonance makes no attempt to move as the serpent makes for his position, instead watching its movements carefully. He studies the massive creature carefully as it begins its targeting routine, and utters only a single word.
SP-Resonance: ....crud.
In a show of blazing glory, Resonance takes the full brunt of the serpent's strike and is torn apart, leaving behind nothing in its wake... as the real Resonance, standing on the outside of the gymnasium, silently tosses a black bomb at the frame of the doorway to the room, causing a large explosion to rain wreckage down and block the escape.
That won't hold it, Resonance thinks to himself as he takes off at a dead run down the hallway that he'd previously been on. This thing obviously had some dangerous intent, and could somehow see/sense him despite his cloaking powers. A direct conflict with it would likely be suicide, and he couldn't rely on Genesis at this point. Thinking quickly, he comes to an area where the hallway crosses, skids to a stop, and drops another shadow bomb at his feet.
Amid the black smoke that rises, two separate versions of Resonance appear, each with an ever so slight difference in armor shade. Once the smoke dies down, the two Resonance take off. One runs to the right, while the other veers left, disappearing down the hallway. Without stealth or combat, Resonance would attempt to fall back on trickery. Now all that remains is to see if the beast would buy it....

*That was a blow that he could recall all too well from that particular... 'challenge', one could say. It was a nice fight each time, back when they could enjoy fights for the sake of the fight itself. But today that ridiculous strength of his combined with his own might would work in tandem against a common foe. But this explained who Resonance was speaking of when he said he had a guy who wouldn't care about the risks.*
"Nice to see you again, Challenger."
*A swirl of black energy began to whirl about Fate, obsidian feathers swirling about it as he lifted the sword on high and brought it down. While Challenger would focus on a single point, he would slam harshly against the whole. If they had to reinforce the areas that he struck, they wouldn't have room to brace for Challenger's blow. But if they braced for Challenger's blow, odds were he would tear right through it. Either way, one of them were going to cut through it like a hot knife through butter. But he could commend the defensive abilities that the navi possessed for this long.*

"Ngh?! Huh? ...You're kidding me."
She wondered why there was definitely more resistance thrown against her shield. And it made perfect sense with the comet of raw strength that was outside with the Onyx Overlord now. Seriously, Challenger? She managed to keep her cool, deciding to go for two birds with one stone instead with how this was now. She ran a finger along the blank checklist, information shooting across the screen so quickly that for many navis it appeared as though nothing at all was there. Her eyes caught it all though, holding her hand forward as she exhaled. The pale green barriers that had been broken left behind fragments, rising up to try and impale the explosive duo. But this was to serve as the distraction for once, turning the defensive power in full that she wielded into offense as a dual set of blasts was fired upon the assailing navis shortly after the first attack was unleashed. As it approached it spread out like a web and then even further, becoming a dome instead that formed around them in an inverted barrier, firing off the same sort of blasts that spawned it, save retaining the force of a blazing comet as it came from all angles in a rapidfire series of attacks.
As the serpent decimated the false Resonance, it was going in hot pursuit of the real one before he collapsed the room down. But the shrill noise erupted still, the rubble both breaking and melting before it as it went for a blitzkrieg. He jetted off even faster than when it had first arrived, reaching the end spot for where the two split off. It showed that it was contemplating which way to go, even if it should simply stay its ground. But it ultimately opted to go for the one that had gone to the right, the shrill noise getting louder as it sped even faster than before after him, the vibrations resounding through the castle still.

With an excited glint in his eyes and a flex of his arms, Challenger faces the shards of data head-on. His fists smash each sharp bit as they fly his way with the intent to cut. At this point, all that the NIA had managed to do is start to bring out the Magnum Champion's burning spirit.
Challenger: C'MON, LADS! IT'LL TAKE MORE THAN THAT T'STOP TH'LIKES OF US!
Challenger then makes a berserk charge forwar-when did this barrier get h-...oh.
It doesn't take Challenger long to realize what the quick-thinking Navi had done. The power begins to rain down on he and Genesis, reflecting back the previous power that he'd unleashed. While this would only be so much of an issue for a Navi like Genesis, Challenger finds himself at a serious disadvantage. The attacks come down like rain, yet he has no shield or barrier to withstand them. Instead, he uses his best footwork to evade each individual hit, while punching as many out of the air as he can. Still, he still takes heavy fire in a short period of time. He nearly falls from the peppering of damage laid out against him... but that's when his blood begins to boil. Standing against the raw force of this attack, Challenger reels back and channels all of his herculean strength into one single blow.... directly into the ground.
The stone ground shatters as the debris from the mammoth blow are thrown into the air from the shock, deflecting the majority of the shots. In this moment the Magnum Champion looks up and sees her; the girl Navi with the clip-board that had been manipulating the barrier... and glares at her with a blood-lust driven smile.
Challenger: Lass, y'made A BIG MISTAKE!
The serpent makes its turn and goes for the Resonance that had gone right. This Resonance does his best to out-run the beast for as long as he can... as a third Resonance, one that never truly left the corridor in the first place, slips out of the shadows with an obviously nervous expression on his face. He could only keep this up for a little longer, and he knew that the mechanical beast would figure out what had happened soon enough, but he also knew that this move would buy him at least a little more time than he'd had before. Taking off at a silent run, Resonance continues down the main corridor and begins searching. Air ducts, access lines, even some something stationary just to hide in! No matter how cliche' the method, Resonance searched for some way to conceal himself, given the fact that this serpent had some way of sensing, or even tracking his cloaking technology. However, this last situation also made it obvious that the robotic menace didn't have the ability to track him directly. Resonance didn't know how much farther he'd have to go, but he only had so many tricks up his sleeve at this point...

*Seeing the shards come at him, he swatted aside some with Fate and others with the chains that was called up from his armor. He was going to move forward and wrap this up, but then the dome was created from the last attack he was preparing to cleave through. An attack from all directions like this wasn't a bad move at all, the very air around him beginning to swirl as it became a solid barrier around him that ate the blasts for a while for him that was combined with his own power, otherwise it would get torn through thanks to that woman's efforts. It wouldn't hold forever, so he would have to deal with it himself soon as well. Challenger made the first move, so he would make the second and carve a path for them out of here, turning Fate in hand as he thrust the sword into the ground. A pulse flowed from it, black data beginning to surge from his gauntlet as his eyes narrowed ever so slightly.*
"It is time to move you aside."
*From the earth erupted an explosion followed that caused several things. The soaring shrapnel began to spin violently through the air as they continued forth, being coated in a crimson aura as they did so. The ground shot forth brown blades, the earth itself being made into weapons that were coated with a black aura instead. And on top of it was an array of crimson rays of light blasted outward with them. They all slammed up against the dome that surrounded the two, aiming to break through it all at once.*

Of course it would be as she was dealing with some rather large problems that he would send a communication through. Frankly, she would have appreciated it if he had done so around the time he invited 'Egress' out for a walk. She was listening to him, noted it, but also had important things to do. Like survive long enough for that to be important information for her. Information didn't account for much if you were gone for good after all.
"In a minute."
It could serve as a response to her two adversaries as well as Nightshade. The people were panicking because they were starting to force their way through. She hadn't been able to erect another defense this time so as the explosive force from Challenger helped alongside Genesis plowing through, many of the attacks made it through to their side as well. She managed to cut the connection to focus around then, though was also caught up in the onslaught that was unleashed. Though she managed to not die, she was definitely reeling after it was all said and done. Her left arm was numb and thanks to Netopia's circumstances there wasn't much she could do about it or the other cuts and bruises she scraped up from this, standing back up as she held her arm with her good arm.
"...Are you done yet?"
It was around here that one of the nearby mirrors let off a sheen of light, a tell that something was spotted. But for the Onyx Overlord and Magnum Champion, they would notice the sky itself become as crimson, as though it were about to rain fire itself from the very heavens above. And they would both see a blazing comet soaring along the air, coming to a halt as it crashed down near Mistair.
"Yeah, yeah, I am. I'll drive them back now."
The crimson that coated the skies above all collected into one spot, floating down and sitting up in the air. Rosso's eyes seemed to glower beneath his cowl, a sinister sneer coming to his face. The small dot of crimson standing out in the sky despite its miniscule size. But even if they couldn't feel anything from it, the confidence of Rosso alone could speak volumes all its own.
"Gehenna."
From that small dot erupted forth a veritable storm of death. It wasn't even a 'storm' to call it as such. It had simply radiated with heat that turned the world itself into a hue of orange and red. The very net around them was melting away and engulfed in a searing blaze that reduced everything into a barren, scorched earth soaked in fire. A wall of flames had engulfed their own forces that were defending, but even inside Resonance would suddenly find himself sweating intensely, the heat spreading far and wide as its very presence was set to burn apart everything and leave them with nowhere to run.
-
Speaking of Resonance, there were several things he could use to keep up his stealth from the predator. That had let out another shrill noise around the time it eventually caught up to the one that it had chosen to hunt down. There were some air ducts that led to other areas inside of the facility. There were a few stationary things like bulky armor made to resemble some of the larger and older knights who would defend such castles. There were access lines as well, which could possibly allow him to find a way to get to his objective before the snake circled back to find the real Resonance.
