She slowly rose to her feet, part of the ice armor melted and or broken away. Her breath came in short breaths at first. She debated on her options. The white haired one had a sword in hand.
"Where did that weapon come from?!"[/i]
She knew she had a serious disadvantage now. Even with her spells, could she defeat him? Before she responded, the other one had spoken. She responded with a snarling tone, as she prepared to strike.
"He left her to be hurt in battle! I took her so she wouldn't get hurt anymore! He doesn't deserve her!"
Her voice was mildly high. Not kid-level high pitched, but she was young. Her now unkept hair could been seen in its full length: down to the middle of her back behind her. She faced the white haired kid.
"You don't deserve a companion you cannot protect! She fought valiantly to protect you, and your response was to let her get hurt! Why would you let her fight like that?!".
She turned back to the navi hiding the virus.
"Please... Give her to me so I can take her home and help her recover!".

Merrill snorted.
"I did NOT leave her to be hurt in battle! Healer knows how to fight! How dare you accuse me of anything, when YOU were the one who committed the act of KIDNAPPING!".
Merrill raised his sword, pointing it at her.
"YOU committed the crime. You hurt her! You caused her pain! You brought this situation upon yourself! And you will be punished!".
Merrill started glowing. A teal and gold glow appeared underneath him, as he started storing energy, his emotional anger starting to form physically as a show of force.

"..."
The girl's words to Merrill seemed to strike Warrior much harder than they struck him. He stood there almost stunned for a moment, unable to properly respond as the thought in the back of his mind seized control.
"You don't deserve a companion you cannot protect! She fought valiantly to protect you, and your response was to let her get hurt! Why would you let her fight like that?!"
"... Is that the way I treat Remnant?"
Warrior's thought couldn't be heard by anyone but himself. Remnant wasn't here right now; he couldn't hear it either.
So what voice was there to argue against it this time?
Remnant regularly gets hurt in battle in attempt to protect Warrior. In fact, if Warrior didn't leave himself exposed all of the time, Remnant would probably be a stronger force on his own. Half of the time, Remnant only fought defensively to prevent Warrior from taking any injuries. He'd even cancel charging an attack to intercept a blow, if that's what it took.
And Warrior's repayment was just to let it happen. A "thanks" every now and again, but Warrior didn't even share the credit with his guardian. No: people discern Warrior as being a force to be reckoned with because of the strength Remnant gives him. Remnant on his own... Nobody respects his power.
So was he just a burden? Did he deserve to have a companion he couldn't protect? Or could Remnant more accurately be described as a "tool" to him?
"... Is that why you left?"
Remnant was off completing some important "errand", as far as Warrior knew. But he was practically omnipresent: able to be summoned back to Warrior on whim. Why did he choose to separate from Warrior entirely, instead of leaving a trace of himself behind to keep tabs on him with?
"You committed the crime. You hurt her! You caused her pain! You brought this situation upon yourself! And you will be punished!"
The real question was whether or not Warrior was even threatening without Remnant backing him up.
But the answer to that question would have to wait; Warrior's attention was drawn back to the situation as Merrill drew his sword and began gathering energy.
"Wait..."
She'd kidnapped a virus to protect it, yet somehow ended up hurting it. At the moment, that didn't make sense, but there was an explanation for everything, no doubt.
Warrior reached up to grab Merrill's shoulder, as if to prevent him from bursting toward the girl at any moment.
"She's wanting to help Healer, not hurt her."
Allegedly, at least.
"Maybe this is just a misunderstanding?"

From above the group below, a figure watched in absolute silence. His cloaked for simply stood to watch the scene unfold. However, the one holding the virus was trying to calm the situation instead of helping escalate it.
"I'm going to have to fix that."
The figure slowly raised his right arm, darkness gathering at his beckoning. It formed two small lines, no thicker than pencils. The demonic energy felt so normal, so calm. With a flick of his hands, the beams dropped, aiming for their targets.
The first, spun, rolled and dived down, dodging branches, a few burnt leaves, as if it had a mind of its own. It swayed around a particularly large branch as it spotted its target: a literal fired up redhead. Increasing speed at an incredible rate, the beam struck it's target in the head, drilling through to her heart, exploding. Her body would be unable to defend or protect itself, the minor explosion inside causing her body to combust. Any remainder of the target would turn to ash.
The second beam dived vertically straight, piercing everything it touched. Its target sat unknowingly on the shoulder of another. It came down with such force, it pierced the target, shattering its armored shell. It too exploded, executing the target instantly, its body turning to dust.
HEALER DELETED DEFENDER DELETED
With a smile, the figure chose to reveal himself. He walked off the branch, and while hovering, slowly lowered himself on a branch above and behind the girl.
"Correction. None of you are worthy of companionship. You all failed in protecting them."
His voice was low, dark and sounded calm yet with an air of absolution in his tone. He looked down at the group, at each individual. His eyes landed on the girl, and he spoke.
"I thank you for your service today, girl. You inadvertently helped me to my prey, and for that, I am thankful. To reward you, I shall let you leave today with your life. You are excused."
With a wave of his cloaked arm, he waved her off, as if dismissing her. He then turned to the other two. He looked towards Warrior first.
"You know, for a minute there, I thought you might be able to calm the situation. Can't have that now. Tisk tisk."
He shook his finger, as if scolding him. Turning to Merrill next, he let his eyes rest on him
"She's right you know. You have no right to have companions you cannot protect. You were not worthy of keeping them anyway. After all, aren't we to dispose of rusted... Useless tools when they have finished serving their purpose? You couldn't save them, and I deemed them unfit to continue their existence."
Grinning behind his hood, he spoke to both of them.
"How does that make you feel?"

Warrior was caught off guard by the sudden self-combustion of Healer. Before he could respond, she'd incinerated and was gone by the time he'd realized what had happened. Distracted by that, there was nothing he could do to prevent the execution of Defender, either.
" ?! "
That couldn't have been the girl's doing, could it?
No... it wasn't. As the culprit revealed himself, Warrior couldn't help but feel a little disappointed in himself at how easily this hooded fellow was able to strike past him and destroy the one he was protecting. Remnant would never have let that happen, but that thought was far from his mind at this point.
"You know, for a minute there, I thought you might be able to calm the situation. Can't have that now. Tisk tisk."
Warrior stared sternly back as the mysterious figure waved his finger at him. While he began his speech to Merrill, Warrior looked over to the girl to see if she'd stick around or not. That'd more or less solidify which side of the fence she stood on.
If she was really here to protect Healer, her next actions would certainly speak for that.
His focus returned to the cloaked man as he finished lecturing Merrill.
"How does that make you feel?"
A brave question to ask at this point. Warrior often spoke with his actions in times like these, though.
"Why don't I show you?"
His sword was still stuck in the tree, but luckily Merrill was practically a walking armory in terms of how many weapons he carried around. Warrior kept his eyes on the mysterious man as he held an open palm out to Merrill, inaudibly asking to borrow an MZKeyZoth or whatever he had to lend. The two-handed claymore would've suited just fine as well.

She could only watch, as both viruses were deleted. She had no way to stop it. She just shook in horror. She sank to her knees. When the figure revealed himself, she just stared at him blankly, unsure of everything. She never meant for the poor virus to die...
After he "excused her," she stood, tears streaming down her face.
"You monster... Why would you kill her?!"
At first, she was unsure of how she felt. Again, someone had died before her sight. She nearly broke down. But this time as she did, she felt a surge of anger.
"All I wanted was to save her, and you show up and kill her... How dare you..."
She raised her arm, casting a spell at him. She would not let his words go unchallenged. If the brown haired kid "Warrior" was going to fight, she would too! She wouldn't run away this time!
"Amnis Glacies Fluo!"
Icicles started to rain down upon the cloaked one. Small at first, they increased in size and number as the girl moved her hands all over repeatedly, controlling the ice.

!?
In a split second, Merrill's world was shattered. His stored energy dissipated, and his eyes widened in shock. He wasn't able to protect them. He failed Healer and Defender. Defender perished on his shoulder! Only if he had sensed it...
His eyes welled up with tears. He trained so hard, only to fail to protect two of his closest companions. In the blink of an eye, he was reduced to almost a shell. As the figure revealed himself, and spoke to Warrior, Merrill had a thought.
"Warrior is still alive. People need protection. What would Healer say to me? She wouldn't want me to give up... She would want me to continue fighting.."
He looked back up at the assailant. As he was spoken to, Merrill felt rage boiling through his body. How dare he! He would pay for taking away his family!
"They would be more upset that I just quit because they died. They would hate me for it... I want to give up... But I don't have time for that... I just... I will destroy this bastard for them... No, We will...'
Merrill barely heard Warrior through his own thoughts, but he instantly knew what his ally had quietly asked for: a blade. Without taking his eyes away from the assailant, he slammed the MZKeyZoth into the ground, reached over his shouder, grabbed the two hand, and dropped in in Warrior's palm.
"If we are as truly undeserving of companionship as you say we are... Then you are deserving of Death for stripping people of the ability to have such a thing. You have no right to decide who is or who is not worthy of any type of relationship with anyone else. You may think you are high and mighty... But I disagree with you... The problem with your line of thinking, is that you THINK you get to decide that? You are wrong..."
Merrill brought forth a burst of energy strong enough to kick up dust around him. He grabbed Life out of the ground, and summoned Death in his right hand.
"Viruses are not tools to be used and thrown away... They are companions, and pets... But the biggest key is: They are FAMILY!"
With that, Merrill threw both blades at the mystery guest, his anger at a boiling point. He raised his hands, blasting of a handful of colorful meteors, followed by dashing right at him, and as Life and Death reformed in his hands, created a cross slash that upon contact with whatever it touched, caused a small explosion. Merrill landed back on the ground, noting that even the girl had sided with them. He dismissed her case for now... Maybe she was trying to save Healer...

Claymore in hand, Warrior sprung forward to follow up Merrill's assault.
While Merrill kept their mysterious guest occupied, Warrior maneuvered around behind him and jumped up for a crushing blow from the rear just as Merrill finished his barrage.
The sword felt heavier than he was used to, but it didn't weigh him down too badly. He kept his guard up to deflect retaliation; he had to play it more carefully now that Remnant wasn't around to cover him.
It looked like the girl was on their side for now. He supposed she was telling the truth after all.

"Oh Please. Family? You are too soft. Viruses are anomalies, most that wish destruction. Just because there are a few "tame" viruses, doesn't mean anything. They cause destruction. That being said, I aim to only aid them, by eliminating the others... But that's not any concern to you."
As the girl struck out in anger towards him, he laughed, casually dodging the torrent of ice. He waved his hand, giving a loud and obnoxious sigh as he did so.
"Girl, I'm giving you one last chance at freedom. I would suggest you take it..."
He faced his next target: Merrill. He swerved to the side, dodging the blades that were thrown at him. He raised his right hand, a veil of Darkness eating up the meteors harmlessly. He jumped over Merrill's cross slash, noting its abilities. He registered Warrior behind him, his own strike being avoided by the jump with ease.
His original perch destroyed, he landed on a different, thicker branch, turning to face the three navis before him.
"Is that all you have? If that's your best, you have absolutely no chance of winning. Give me your best shot you two!"
He crossed his arms, waiting with a scary level of patience.

"Is that all you have? If that's your best, you have absolutely no chance of winning. Give me your best shot you two!""
"I'd rather keep this forrest intact. No point in having the deletion of two networks on my conscience."
The mysterious man's patience actually worked in Warrior's favor. He had time to calmly climb the tree his sword was lodged in and retrieve it.
With Merrill's claymore in his right hand, and Faith in his left, Warrior stood in a posture that was so relaxed is was intimidating. He looked like he could comfortably wield the two weapons, and confidently no less.
"..."
This enemy had very swift reflexes. No doubt quicker than Warrior's, which was saying something. He also had an interesting repertoire of abilities.
What was the source of his power? Dark needles deleted Healer and Defender earlier, then a dark void completely negated everything Merrill had thrown at him just seconds prior to where they were now. No doubt Warrior's projectiles would meet the same fate, if he chose to utilize them. Much less his entire body if he got too close.
He'd give him something to remember him by, though.
Warrior raised both swords skyward...
*BA-BOOM!*
Two bolts of lightning fell from the sky, attaching themselves to the tips of each sword and staying there. Warrior spun his body once -- like strings attached to his sword; like a marionette controlling the wires of its manipulator -- the lightning followed the twirling pattern of the swords.
He spun again, and again; with each rotation of his body, the two tongues of lightning continued to bind together like weaves being braided. And then without warning, he slammed both blades into the ground. The bolts let loose and became what could be be described as a Lightning Tornado, approaching the cloaked man with terrifying speed.
Ten meters in diameter, the tornado moved on its own and seem to draw in what was around it. Even on its own, it was a force to be reckoned with. This single maneuver threatened the stability of the network; it drew power from the Cyber World itself (which was, after all, electronic).
"..."
But there was more.
Once again, two lightning bolts fell from the sky and clashed with Warrior's raised swords.
He threw the claymore to a distant location on his right; Faith a distant location on his left.
As the blades spun rapidly through the air with lightning bolts still attached to their tips, they created two more equally as frightening tornados, all to converge on the Mysterious Man from different angles.
The first Lightning Tornado approaching him head on. The second: from his rear and to the left. The third: from his rear to the right. Their collision course was set on him; anything in their wake would be drawn in and shredded by the sharp bolts, while also electrocuted by the very force that gave this world its sentience.
Would the swords return after the attack had finished? It was unclear. Perhaps the more important question was: would this network even be standing?
Warrior put enough restraint that he believed the forrest would survive, but there was no telling whether or not it could take Merrill's, the girl's, and the man's reactions as well and still remain properly functional.

________________________________________________________
The sight of the snow made a burning sensation in her mind that was white hot. She closed her eyes, tensing from the pain only for a moment. She could remember the snow for some reason, in a lop-sided memory that made her not know if she was standing up tall when she did or was she probably laying on the ground. The images were distorted, but they were all so constantly linked: the wondrous sights, the chilling sensation across her skin, that meek and adorable voice that made her feel so relaxed. The woman could remember so much that day as she looked at her hand after falling ankle deep asking what this was at her feet, and now she done so again as she was kneeling in the white residue.
“Snow...” unlike last time, her voice was empty and void of curiosity.
She had appeared in this area, weary of direction, but intent on trying to find some place to regain some of her distorted and fragmented memories. Her eyes gazed at her hand so long before she got up staring at false images produced by memory instead of what was really right before her eyes. The familiar voices chatting, laughing about such things she seen so trivial: days at school, television speaking on romantic-comedies, and something about a new recipe for cupcakes. The more she stared, looking around her surroundings seeing video screens of a young cute girl who was not yet at her adolescence, she would see him again: that boy with such a gentle and kind expression. He was nervous as he spoke saying one thing:
“I am okay, as long as I am with Megami-chan!”
That’s all he ever was ever like in those fragmented memories. That same young man who she seen in every picture, every recovered memory, and every instance she thought about was happy being with a vessel that did not know its purpose. However, it was the most intriguing then the Pantheon did not understand. Was her ignorance and inexperience enough? Was her imperfection and lack of strength accepted because he was flawed? If that was so, how had the Pantheon survived for so long with simple mediocre ability of a NetNavi and not that of a Goddess as she should have?
“Scanning...scanning...” her silence showing her attempt to understand, “Memories saved in databank. Recovery at sixty percent.”
The system did not understand, and so the visual details and memories were absorbed, much more material than previous. Before the Pantheon could thoroughly analyze them, it had found itself hearing of commotion within the Pinewood Forest. Her presence seemed to not be noticed by how far she had logged in from the area, and her distant roaming caused her to draw closer when scooping up some memories the area presented. She only had a short trek and taking refuge at shoulder coveting view of a tree to observe the situation where she seen a corralling of programs seeming to be at a standstill for the moment. Two which were familiar as she even stared at both of them. Perhaps they could reveal some more memories?
“Scanning...scanning...” speaking lowly, she fell into silence once more as her blue irises that were in her blackened eyes gave a gentle glow while staring at Warrior and Merrill, not knowing that at the next moment, what chaos would unfold.
Pantheon had few options at the moment when the blanket of snow rising from the powerful attack attempt to blanket her. She simply stared at the incoming wave of sleet and ice that begun to rise and topple her, and made only one swift motion to draw a heated aura brimming over her palm. She used it to melt a layer of the snow, enough so that she would not be only take minor damage and pushed back and not put in mortal danger.
However, the attack made her think as she seen the display of power. Had she seen this before?

Her assault had failed. Her attack was completely ineffective. He just had dodged them all like they were nothing, and it had seemed like he hardly moved at all! Not only that, but he seemed to almost effortlessly dodge the guys' attacks as well.
" Girl, I'm giving you one last chance at freedom. I would suggest you take it..."
"No. I will make you pay for hurting those Viruses!"
She then watched the brown haired kind, Warrior's, Lightning Tornadoes as they target the mysterious man. She figured she would try and aid the assault with pinpoint attacks, trying to make sure something, anything connected this round.
She opened her moth, making a quick sign with her hands. the wind picked up, flowing around her. Leaves danced, as power grew within her, and she spat, three tiny yet powerful bursts of air rocketing towards her foe, aiming on the outer edge of each of the tornadoes, the air gaining strength from the wind of the tornadoes.
"Magnus Spiritus!"
From there, she makes a sign, a glyph appearing in front of her. She draws a quick symbol with her finger, then grabs at it's edges, throwing it directly at him.
"Sententia Effrego!"
Hoping she had helped set up for the others to attack, she then raised her hands to the sky, a glyphic rune appearing at her feet. Two beams of energy started glowing around her as she started gaining power for her next assault, if the tornadoes, and everything that the other guy through at him hadn't finished him off by then...
"Sol Solis Commodo Fulcio Mihi!"

“Scanning...Scanning...”
The NetNavi stared at the aftermath of the attack was well as the three NetNavis who opposed the lone one. She seemed desperate, or all of them especially, considering that such a high-leveled attack was used simply to subdue one lone NetNavi that seemed to be opposing them. Regardless, the female husk of a NetNavi, the Pantheon, had stared still. For some reason, there was a spike within her, something that stirred her about this scene. It all had come back as vague images felt with such passion and movement. Every finger clinch, every open of her mouth, and every movement was filled with such action that could probably break her bones. Her efforts were nothing short of complete and utter impulse.
“Memory bank...resonating...” The husk had stared almost as if some sort of color was returning to those black eyes, “...resonating...resonating.”
The Pantheon had watched on as the female NetNavi battled on, desperately trying to redeem whatever was lost to her. All the while, the empty shell could not help but to witness, watch, and surprisingly...sympathize.
"The Pantheon...overriding...protocol..." The vessel, silently as she watched the seen, had started to glow brightly, and not long after vanished in a brief beam of light skyward.

Merrill watched, waiting in awe of the power Warrior was using. He could feel the energy affecting himself, and even the network round him.
"Wow... His power is incredible. Its always increasing, and with something like that, I know I don't have anything in my repertoire of attacks that affects a network like that..."[/I][/size]
He shook his head, refocusing on their target. As the lightning bolts got ready to collide, Merrill tossed Life and Death skyward, as he gathered up Light energy in his hands. On cue, as if using a follow-up on the target. He blasted most of it in two waves in an arc, aiming at the outer edges of the Lightning Tornadoes that Warrior created. He aimed them to cover the blind spots, and or means of escape of them.
From there, Merrill dashed in the dust that settled, aiming to hack and slash his way through his opponent, slashing left, right, vertical, diagonal, horizontal. He was determined to cut him down if the attacks failed.

(OOC: Partly due to stagnation of events here, partly due to Starless having nothing to do with them, partly cause I have things for it to do elsewhere, and finally partly because those things require it's stats to be completed, which they aren't, yet, I'm posting to move Starless elsewhere but that elsewhere is yet to be determined. It will be once stats are done.) Left behind by the two it was following, the rock-like creature has its interest shifted to some other, unknown thing in the back of it's foreign mind. Even it isn't quite sure what, but it feels drawn somewhere. To something. Or... someone.
The creature, in its rock-like form, begins to... flow? Slow at first, but soon it's entire body is no longer solid but a flowing mass of greys, blacks and browns. The material shifts into an energy and shoots skyward, signaling it's exit of the area.
