The girl showed a small smile to the virus. The virus was strong willed, for sure. She liked that.
"I know you can fight. I watched that battle. But It's reckless. He should have been there to protect you, instead of letting you fair for yourself."
She looked away from the virus momentarily, debating on her next action. She knew better than just to open the wind cage she created. The virus would just flee. Then an idea came to her. Whispering under her breath, she spoke a spell, the wind cage expanding, thinning slightly, now encompassing both of them, lifting them just off the tree.
"There. Does that seem fair? Now you have room to roam, and as a show of my friendship to you, I am now in here with you... Now please, may I know you Name?"

Merrill nodded. He knew, all too well, moreso that Warrior knew, that being unable to control the outcomes of the world around them was difficult. It sucked. Even now, with Healer missing, it pushed Merrill to despair. But Warrior had proven he changed that despair. Without knowing it, maybe. Merrill placed his hand on Warrior's shoulder.
"Yeah. I know. I do believe though, that we have the power to influence the world around us. We may not be able to control it, but I have learned, thanks to you and to Mirror, that we can influence the outcome. We ARE the difference. Like now, you give me hope, and the belief that we will find Healer."
Merrill then walked forward a few steps, and paused.
"Oh. And Good. Teamwork is the key. I know you, like I myself have tried before, to do it on my own. But honestly, My true strength comes from you guys. You, Healer, Defender here, and Mirror, can sharpen me like know other, and have shown me I can be strong. I couldn't have gotten here without you. So thank you."
Merrill thought to himself quietly for a moment, analyzing Warrior, both his response and his body language. He was curious as to things about what he had said, but now wasn't the time for that. He let it pass.
"You coming?"
He jumped, aiming to climb to the top of a nearby tall tree.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Healer listened to the girl. She honestly was surprised that the girl reacted by not only enlarging it, but allowing herself to be in it with herself.
"She's crazy! But I can work with it..."
Healer smiled, nodding.
"My name is..."
Taking a deep breath, as if about to drop a bomb on her audience, she suddenly spat a fireball at her captor, throwing two more of her golden balls of flame at her. From there, she started spitting fire at the wind cage, knowing it would increase the power of her fire to such an intense heat that the girl would have to choosebetween protecting herself, or keeping her caged up.

"Right behind you."
Climbing the tree - which seemed to reach a bit taller than the others - would provide them with a slightly better vantage point.
From atop the trees, it'd be hard to see the surface through their leaves and branches. Healer might have been emanating some sort of fiery aura or fiery glow for them to spot her though -- or maybe something else would work in their favor once they reached the top.
There was only one way to find out, though.
Hugging the trunk, Warrior hauled his body up to the lowest branch, then worked his way from branch to branch to reach the top.
If nothing else, Merrill flight would also aid in the search from above. If Healer was anywhere in this forrest, there was no doubt they'd be able to find her before long.

Still observing Merrill and Warrior, the rock creature remains stationary as it notices them gaining elevation.
"Jumping. Climbing. Looking? Finding?"
It's words obviously stated it's train of thought. It was watching these navis, and it assumed from their actions they were searching for something. But at the same time, it seemed to be a simple creature.
"Adapt. Commune. Control. Consume. Comply. Commit. Absorb. Refuse."
It resumed muttering it's string of strange words and slowly began to move closer.

The poor girl hadn't thought that through very well. The little fire Virus had tricked her! The fireball that was sent at her face was slightly deflected off to one side by a spell from under her breath. However, in her moment of reaction, the cage dissipated, dropping both her and the virus to nearby branches. Healer's fire was accurate, catching the large tree they were located on fire. The bright flames engulfing the tree, despite the wetness from the snow, right up.
"Why would you do that?! Are you trying to get us killed?!
She dived at the virus, in an attempt to catch her with a different spell this time. Her long, silky pink hair whipped up as she again whispered it under her breath.
" Glacies Vescia Offendo!"
A chilling wind gusted up, a blue, frozen blade of ice forming in the girl's hand. She swiped it at the virus in an attempt to freeze it in place as she dived at her. A wise tactic indeed, as the flaming branch that she was standing on gave way and fell, igniting branches from another tree. Soon, other trees would catch fire and smoke if the pair on them wasn't careful!

"Looks like we have a lead."
A black cloud of smoke permeated through the tree tops as Warrior and Merrill looked down from the top of the high tree they were in. It wasn't too far away from their current location.
"I'm pretty sure forrest fires are an uncommon thing here. So let's not keep Healer waiting, right?"
Like a candle in a dark room, the blazing tree practically acted like a beacon for them to head toward.
Warrior jumped from his current tree into another, and then from that one to the next. He treated the treetops like an obstacle course, though not in a Tarzen-esque manner so much as it was a ninja-esque method of traversing from one branch to the next.
He hadn't noticed the rock creature that was creeping on them, so whether or not he left it in the dust wasn't on his mind. He presumed Merrill would follow; either by the same method Warrior made his way toward the destination or by simply flying there over the top of the forrest.

*step* ... *step*
Merrill saw the cloud of smoke. It just had to be Healer! It just had to be! Following right on Warrior's heels, Merrill kept pace, each step increasing both his hope and his nervousness. Was Healer really this close? Or as it just some mishap? He had to admit, Warrior's confidence did boost his faith and belief that it was her.
Then the smoke started to thicken, and Merrill then had a sudden flashback: The black smoke, the red, orange and yellow flames across everything. Buildings going up in flames as well as the trees and foliage of the Clan Village. Screams of the dying filled his ears, and as he got closer, his heart started racing, almost as if he was reliving it. He could fell the heat now, as he approached the outer edge of the burning trees, the fire spreading across in a large radius. He shouted, hoping that she could respond.
"HEALER!"
------------------------------------------------------------
Merrill! He WAS here! He was really close by too! As the girl dived at her with her ice blade, Healer tried stepping to the side, the blade's tip scratching her side. She fell, letting loose a shrill shriek, slamming back first into another branch. She felt the wind leave her lungs. The impact cracked the branch, it teetering on the edge of falling. She started calling towards the base of the tree, which had caught fire at the top, and had started spreading throughout that tree. Thee air around her was thick with smoke, and she could tell the temperature was increasing in the flaming area. She couldn't see much, and while her breath slowly returned, she was afraid to shout or anything, afraid that the crazy girl would find her first.
----------------------------------------------------------
He heard the shriek. He took a dive off one of the branches as it creaked under his weight. He landed on the ground, swerving from a falling flaming branch. He looked up, seeing fire everywhere above him. His heart raced.
He heard the boy scream, as the fire surrounded his house. He saw the boy's mother, hanging out of the third story of the house. Merrill could tell she was wounded severely, noting her one wing was completely cut off at her back. Merrill ran forward, grabbing the young child as a cannot blew up the window where the mother had been. Merrill saw her body falling in slow motion. He yanked hard on the young boy's arm, pulling him against his unarmored body. He started running away from the collapsing building. He managed to run around behind another house, through the back yard, running into two guards.
"Sir, You must come with us! There are too man-"
Merrill shook his head, shoving the young boy into his arms.
"Take him and go! I'll distract them!
Without waiting for a response, Merrill dashed around the corner, grabbing a buster from one of the fallen intruders. He fired a few rounds towards one of them, nicking his shoulder. Merrill charged him from there, throwing the gun-like weapon, drawing his sword. He shoved the blade into the navi's chest, twisting it, almost relishing causing this intruder pain. Merrill then yanked on his blade, and dashed away, turning around another corner. He then saw something that he would never forget: a heel navi had his buster pointed at a defenseless young girl. Merrill screamed, trying to get his attention. The cloaked navi turned, and Merrill could make the outline of his face.
It grinned... and fired a round into the child. She fell, vanishing before her body hit the ground. Merrill fell to his knees, and the figure approached him...
Merrill froze. His body not responding to his mind. He stood there, staring at the flames, completely trapped in his own mind.

Several problems presented themselves all at once.
Warrior heard Healer's scream, but she was nowhere in sight. The forrest fire would spread quickly if it wasn't contained. And Merrill seemed to be in a trance at the moment; amidst all of the raging fire around them.
"Healer!"
It only seemed naturally to call out for her in response to her yelp. She sounded like she was in trouble though... possibly in pain?
It occurred to Warrior that Healer probably didn't start this fire... or if she did, it was in self defense of some sort. The question now was whether or not they were too late.
"Merrill!"
Warrior shook his ally after having stood next to him for a few seconds, assessing the situation.
"Get a move on, man! Do you have a way of killing the fire?"
No time for a response - only time to act.
Warrior drew his sword, ready to defend if Healer was in danger. Finding where she was came first, though, and he couldn't do that without her help.
"Healer, make some noise! It's Warrior!"
Hopefully she would recognize his voice over the growling flames, but even if she didn't he confirmed his identity for her.
He moved around quickly; like a scout, he ran in a perimeter around the burning area with his eyes peeled.
Healer wasn't the only person he was looking for. If there was an enemy here, he'd be ready.

The fire was spreading. She didn't like fire that she couldn't control. She watched the virus fall, and she felt terrible. She slid down, slowly lowering herself out of the tree. She stopped however on a thicker branch that had not gone up in flames yet when she saw him. She locked eyes on him. He seemed... different. Something about him was strange. It bothered her. However, then someone else appeared. She had never seen this one before. He shouted something towards the wounded Virus.
Warrior?
Whoever he was, he posed a threat. He saw him draw a sword, and shake the white haired boy. She looked down, and as the brown haired kid moved off.
"He's looking for the virus! I must stop him!"
She hopped from her current branch to a parallel branch, locating him again.
"Amnis Glacies Fluo!"
Suddenly, hundreds of icicles formulated in the air above Warrior, silently. She then dropped her hand, causing them to rain around and on him. She then turned, her long flowing pink hair swishing behind he, as she climbed up a branch. She then could see the small flaming virus a few branches over... Right above where Warrior had been. She ran forward and jumped towards the virus....

"Amnis Glacies Fluo!"
" ? "
A voice came from above...
" ! "
And so did a shower of ice!
A sphere of light engulfed Warrior's fist as he raised it above his head... but instead of firing off an orb of energy at the falling icicles, he slammed the fist into the ground and released the energy there.
A white wave of light rebounded off of the ground from his knuckles and engulfed Warrior like a dome as the icicles were about to make contact; they were consumed by the light instead. The wave of light dissipated after having negated the danger for him.
"..."
Looking back to the branches above, Warrior's eyes just barely caught the tail of the girl's pink hair as she made off in another direction. Looking to where she was going was... Healer?
"Think I found her."
As the girl jumped toward the virus, Warrior sprinted up the tree, digging into the trunk with the toes of his boots and using his fingers like claws to propel his body upward; he almost looked like a monkey, the way he ascended so quickly.
Adrenaline was mostly to thank for that.
He stuck his blade into the trunk, used it as a footstool, and jumped up at the end of his climb to reached out for Healer.
Whether or not he beat the pink-haired girl to their destination was in fate's hands, now.

Merrill was jerked back to reality when Warrior shouted at him.
"Merrill!"
"Huh... OH!?"
The fire!
Merrill shook his head. He cut out the resurfacing memories. He shook his head, and looked up. He saw her. He stared straight at her for a split second, before she vanished. He had a target. He became super focused. He first would take care of the fire.
"Hang in there Healer! Warrior and I are here!"
He jumped, spreading his white wings as wide as they would go, taking off in a straight vertical boost. As he rose, he raised his hands, turning some of the snow into water, and then soaking up and withdrawing some of the water from the trees. Upon reaching the apex of his aerial climb, he turned, and slammed his hand down, the combined power of the water cascading down, extinguishing the fire down to embers in the branches closest to the trees that had been the starting point. Without much oxygen and plenty of rain that Merrill was causing, the flames would die out completely soon.
Without leaves to guard his view, he saw the race for Healer between Warrior and the mystery girl. Without thinking, he dived, aiming to collide with the girl himself. Using himself as a meteor, he threw his arms up in front of his face, aiming his shoulder to collide with her....
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Healer heard Warrior. He was right under her! Her voice hadn't recovered enough to speak, but it didn't matter. She heard her captor jump, at the same time she heard a noise from Warrior below. Using her remaining strength, she rolled herself off the branch, aiming to land right in Warrior's arms...

"Gotcha."
Warrior's arms closed as Healer sank between them... but there was nothing to catch him after he'd made his leap of faith.
Bracing tightly, Warrior shifted positions midair so that as they plummeted to the ground, his back would take the impact of the fall.
"Oof!"
His body rebounded off of the ground and tumbled violently as he held tightly onto Healer; any normal navi would have been pretty wounded after that fall, much less a virus.
Much less a human?
He didn't end up unharmed, but he hadn't taken any substantial damage from the collision. No broken bones at least, but he was certainly aching as he slowly stood up and brushed himself off after letting go of Healer.
"You okay?"
His sword was still stuck up in the tree, but that wasn't the reason he looked back up.
He was more concerned of what the outcome of Merrill's interception would be...

She had missed the virus. The sly little one had rolled off the branch into Warrior's arms successfully. The fire was dying down as the flying navi had made it rain, so she landed on the branch, and saw them fall, landing on the ground, both apparently okay. However, a moment later when she looked up, she saw a problem: the white haired boy had her eyes stuck on her, and was rocketing towards her incredibly fast. She didn't have time to move, so she muttered under her breath a spell.
"Gelu Loricatus, Servo Mihi!"
A wall of ice started to formulate in front of her, however, she was more concerned as the condensation of the steam and water condenced in the ice-like armor around her. She gained a frozen helm of ice, covering her scar less and smooth face. Along her neck and shoulders she acquired ice padlike armor, with sharp shoulder spikes. Her torso, to which her snow white silky top covered, gained a thick layer of ice armored, styled perfectly to her slender form. Her silky, snow white battle skirt became covered in a frozen layer of ice, that spread down, protecting her soft, silky smooth legs. She acquired knee and elbow spikes in an instant on her frost armor as well. Then her armor gained various sharp points along her arms and legs, even over her knuckles. She crossed her arms, pointing the spikes at an upward angle for when he crashed into her.
He crashed into her with such force that the branch shattered, sending both of them to the ground. the impact hurt, tearing the breath from her lungs. Her body felt like she was hit by a truck, although there wasn't much damage done elsewise. The landing on her back left her stunned momentarily. She hoped that she had managed to hurt him as well, and get him to back off. She wasn't leaving without that virus though!

Merrill saw that Healer was safe, right before he collided with this mysterious navi. What he didn't see, was the armor that had appeared on her body. When they collided, Merrill felt ice spikes poke him painfully. Most had been harmless, but there had been a few effective ones. One managed to scratch him in the face, leaving a nice cut along his cheek. Another, pierced his right arm through his armpit, forcing him to drop his arm off to the side. The knee spiked managed to catch one of his wings on his left side. After they crashed, leaving a small crater behind, Merrill climbed out of the hole. He walked over to Warrior, and nodded. He raised his hand to be above Healer, white warm, soothing light encasing her form.
"Good. Thank you, Warrior. I cannot thank you enough for saving her.. I owe you one!"
He gave Warrior a full bow, something he hadn't done for anyone in ages.
Healer gave Warrior a weak hug.
"Thank you..."
She smiled at Merrill, in a thumbs up kind of manner. She would recover.
Merrill then turned, his body healing his wounds quickly. He summoned his white blade in his left hand, placing it over his shoulder. His face went neutral.
This girl was going to pay for the horror she put Healer through.

With his sword still stuck in the tree, Warrior would have to resort to non-weapon combat, if things went sour just now.
Unless Merrill could keep their "enemy" pre-occupied for long enough that he could go up and grab it, but in all honesty, Warrior was somewhat unwilling to fight this time. His namesake didn't fail him though; a warrior doesn't always fight.
"So we don't wanna talk about this first, I'm assuming?"
He had no problem hitting a girl - Feint kind of desensitized him of that - but it wouldn't hurt to find out why she was trying to kidnap Healer in the first place.
Warrior's mind thought deeply about things; was someone out to catch Healer? Or maybe they were just out to hurt Merrill by taking away the ones he loved? Or maybe this pink haired girl was caught up in some kind of mess, and capturing Healer was her only way out?
Wild assumptions at best, but they'd never know for sure if they just pounded her into the ground just now. It was a two-versus-one scenario anyway; three counting Healer, and four if Remnant would finally finish his errand, wherever he was. The advantage was clearly in their favor, and it was pretty unlikely that this girl could run quick enough to escape either of them.
And besides, giving her a chance to denounce her act would be somewhat fair as well.
Some could call him a pacifist, but he'd let them. Warrior fought over injustice, not over misunderstandings. Whether or not this situation was one or the other was still yet to be fully determined.
