Tilting his head in curiousity at Fulgur as he explains who Rumbler and Sheridun are, he keeps his face neutral as Fulgur trails off about missing them. Unsure for a moment on how to continue he offered a tenuous question in place, ”So was it Sheridun who taught you all those wolf skills then?”
Noticing the glance in his direction and the query of cold, Ion just shook his head, waving a hand indicating that Fulgur should keep the flame element imbued cloak for the time being. ”Nah, my body can adapt to things like this.” He purposefully left out the fact that he possessed the Bug element, most people would not explicitly notice it, since he kept a tight handle on its effects, but often individuals feared the chaotic side-effects of even being near an entity that was infected. Fulgur would come to learn of his abilities one day, especially if they continued to meet and train.
With a quick nod of his head, he pointed his chin towards the snowy trail that was already beginning to fill in since their journey up to the plateau. ”Shall we walk and talk?”

Fulgur smiles."U-uhm....sort of....I actually didnt discover I h-had a buster until later o-on...S-she taught me how t-to shoot a little, but I-im more comfortable close up.."
At the reassurance he'd be fine, the young navi nods."O-ok..."When his companion suggests walking and talking, Ful nods, following Ion, sandaled feet crunching the snow. They walk a bit, then he looks at his taller companion."S-so...do you have people t-that looked after you?"
True curiousity lighting up Ion’s eyes, he couldn’t help but blurt out, ”Woah that’s cool! So you just woke up on the network one day? Then Rumbler and Sheridun took you in?” The fact that this navi seemed to have not known his own abilities before two other navi’s had taught him, bringing out his skills and refining his techniques was an incredible feat. The very idea of just waking up in some random network with no past seemed to intrigue Ion beyond normal.
As the two waded through the deep snow, kicking through drift after drift in their journey back to a warmer place, Ion pondered Fulgur’s question a moment before answering, feeling that it deserved proper consideration, “I’ve been lucky. I’ve always had people looking after me in some way or another. I’ve had Vince, my operator, since before I was even myself. If I didn’t have Vince, I had allies, friends and passionate navi’s of great mettle to surround myself with. Even my toughest challenges have been met with the support of others at my back.” Walking for a short time before continuing, “I’m typically alone in my wanderings, but I enjoy company of all types.” He felt compelled to add the last part, knowing that the implication was for dark navis and navi’s traditionally labeled as evil.

( Ahem, turns out I misspelled Sheri's name. Its a a, not a u. Sorry!! XD)
Fulgur nods."Y-yes.....Rum and Sheri s-say they found me in a g-glowing sphere of light, d-data flowing around me..The sphere burst, and I l-landed on the forest floor. The f-first thing I remember ever seeing is S-Sheri's face..A-at first, I was afraid..., but she was smiling so gently.....I f-felt safe around h-her...So, they s-sort of..adopted me." He nods, smiling." It w-was good, having a f-family.Still is."
Then, he listens as Ion answers the young Navis question. It sounded like he had a lot of friends..." I-Its good....you h-have plenty of comrades...Nano one should ever be alone...." Catching Ion's hint, the boy nods." I-I see..." He thinks, then nods. Ion showed no hints of meanness, or evilness..."That's fine."
Casting his eyes sideways as Fulgur describes a rough sketch of what could only be considered his birth into the networks, they are alight in spite of the bleak surroundings, “So you have no recollection of anything before? She must be an incredibly caring person for you to have felt safe around her immediately.” Pausing as Fulgur confirms that they still live to this day, Ion gives a sigh of relief, ”What made you leave them, if you don’t mind me asking? It sounds like they prepared you well, as though they knew you would need your skills one day.”
Filling his lungs deeply as Fulgur mentions having many comrades, the cold air stung but felt invigorating all the same, “Unfortunately many are gone now. Many have passed on, some have disappeared beyond my ability to track and I fear I know less than a handful of navi’s now.” Ion felt strangely open around this younger navi, he didn’t seem to bear ill judgement as deeply as others and did not cringe even at the obscure implications he laid out. Explaining his unspoken acceptance of the dark, “I find little difference between light and dark. Either is destructive when taken too far, and ultimately everyone has different desires. I find them all worthy of protection as long as they don’t infringe on the happiness and pursuit of others.”
Scratching the back of his head and laughing to himself, ”Haha, sorry about that, got kinda serious in my monologue there…”

Fulgur blinks, seeing Ion look at him, asking several questions. He smiles, shivering slightly as he adjusts the cloak, and answers."N-no....I remembered my n-name, and a f-few random things, b-but other then t-that...Sheri and Rum h-had to teach me...a-alot...It w-was kinda hard, but, they h-helped me..A-and yes...She is, v-very, though s-she likes to tease...R-rumbler's a bit grumpier, and more stoic, b-but, he's also nice in h-his own way..
T-they, nor I, thought I'd leave....Since i-I seemed not to have a b-buster, Rumbler taught me a bit about m-makeshift weapons, and f-fighting hand to hand...T-they are very protective, and w-wanted me to be able to d-defend myself if they c-couldn't...B-but..a few weeks after I-I discovered m-my buster, I heard a-about the ONB....I f-felt a need to join...to help others...S-so I left, trying to f-find a way to join..." The young navi sighs." B-but then I found out its been taken over...N-now I'm trying to put together a group t-that defends those who can't defend themselves..."
Ful looks at Ion as he begins to speak again, telling of the fact he only had a few friends left. The young navis brows furrow in sympathy. That was terrible, to lose so many...He listens closely as Ion continues, explaining his reasoning, then apologizes for getting serious. Fulgur shakes his head." N-no...its ok..."For a minute, as he considers his response, there was only the sound of two pair of feet smashing their way through snow and the keening of the wind, but then he speaks." I-Im sorry, that you lost s-so many friends....A-as for being kind to Dark.....S-Sheri once said its not what you are, i-its what you do....J-just because a navi has darkness afflicting him, d-doesnt mean he'll do b-bad things..."

A soft smile traced Ion’s lips as Fulgur explained his parents and he couldn’t help but think of Vince’s parents from so long ago. This Sheridan sounded just like his mom, though Ion thought Rumbler was much an improvement on Vince’s own father. “Huh, sounds like they’ve given you a solid education! Firearms, hand-to-hand, improve weaponry, the whole nine-yards. Ah yes! The ONB, I also- wait, what?”
A quizzical tone entered Ion’s voice as Fulgur mentioned that ONB had been taken over and that he was instead seeking to build his own faction. ”What do you mean the ONB has been taken over? Do you know anything about who or why?” He too had tried to join the ONB so long ago and been only moderately successful. He had grown close with a few ONB members but the desire to serve under their strict regime had encouraged Ion to seek asylum with other factions of the era instead. But if they had fallen, this was vital news and news that would likely influence the events of the network in the coming years. “I can see why you would make your own faction to serve the people, you’re a good person and you have more strength than an average navi, especially with your trained skills. How is it coming along?”
Letting the hardness of the elements cast his hair about his face, icicles seemed to form in his white hair, literally giving him frosted tips in the gale wind that assaulted their backs, “No need to be sorry, they’ve likely disappeared for adventures beyond our imagination, and I don’t regret either the time I spent with them or the partings that have been had. Sheri sounds like a very wise woman, sometimes it’s not the burdens that define us but the way we carry them.”

Fulgur smiles sheepishly."N-no....It's not as much as it sounds like..Uhm, I'm n-no master.." At Ion's question, the younger navi nods, furrowing his brow."Y-yes....I heard Navis called Gate and V-vile had took over...The b-base is sealed.." At Ion's compliments, he shakes his head, looking down in embarrassment."N-no...I'm not that strong, n-nor am I one of the H-high Ones...J-just doing W-what I can.."
He shrugs." U-uhm...we've g-got a few navis, b-but not much...H-hopefully more will step u-up...." The young navi listens, nodding, as Ion said speaks that his friends have likely gone onto adventures one couldn't imagine. At his final words, Fulgur nods, smiling."Y-yes...she is...." The boy shivers, sighing. This blasted cold...And it'll be a while yet until his armor was ready to redeployed.
The bitter cold of the Ural Tundra had finally taken its toll on Ion and his spiked hair clinked like dainty wind chimes, filling the windy air with a progression of light-hearted tones. His white hair had frozen and even his lips were taking on a blue hue as his body temperature plummeted to match the icy north. It didn’t bother him though as the bugs stored within his system had effectively transitioned his body to that of an ice elemental. Having grown up in Sharo, this was amongst one of the most useful abilities his infection had lent him.
”Vile and Gate eh? Now those are some heavy names from history. No wonder the ONB didn’t have a chance…” Trudging along a little further, the two would be able to see the flickering lights of a nearby town nestled into the valley of the mountains. The warm glow of lit flames and heady scent of wood smoke that was growing increasingly strong were a beacon to the two travellers. Continuing with a hint of laughter in his voice, “Few people become masters through training alone. I’ve always found the best combatants are battle hardened, so getting experience is a great idea.”
Nodding his head towards the tiny town, Ion pointed ahead indicating that they should make their way towards the base of the mountain and take in the local hospitality. The clouds seemed to be growing darker, taking on an ominous black that gave warning of the coming blizzard. ”A following is always good to have. Have you decided on the driving principals yet? The core that will guide your actions as a group? Or will it be solely to defend the weak?”

Fulgur looks at Ion,concerned. Was he really OK with this cold? Well...the older navi seemed to be alright..Thankfully, he himself was protected from the worst by the cloak he had been given, though a little frost had gathered on his hair. Wind whipping against his face with gentle hisses, the young navi pulls some of the warming cloth up against his face. Ful then hears tinkling, glancing up, and smiles at the fact it was Ion's hair. He couldn't stop a soft chuckle from leaking out, and the edges of his near-grin peeked out from the edges of the makeshift face covering.
At Ion's statement, he reverts back to his standard self, nodding."Y-yes....I..haven't heard much a-about them, e-except they're very dangerous..."Then his comrade, with a hint of laughter, remarks that few become masters through training alone, and that experience was needed.Ful looks at him curiously."Y-yes...I-I hope I can become strong enough.."
He glances up, spotting the glow of a village, and a soft ooh comes out. The boy had come from a different route, and so hadn't passed through here. Getting to see a new place, plus the promise of warmth, had ignited his curiosity.Thankfully, his companion was thinking along similar lines. Unfortunately, there looked to be a blizzard coming. 'Oh well, I'll still get to see a little, at least.'At Ion's question, Ful thinks." Well...we haven't really decided yet...But....Protect the weak, defend the innocent, bring justice to the cruel...T-that is o-our purpose, i-I think...At least, I-Its what drives me."
