So it's almost time for Smash to hit the US, and I wanna know who's up for a fight!
Getting the 3DS version on the 3rd, and the WiiU version whenever it comes out. If you plan to pick it up as well, then post your friend codes so that we can all get on and beat each other senseless!

No funds to even think about buying a 3DS. But I noticed an interesting article here about a tournament that starts next week. :V

I'll be getting it as soon as I have money (cause I still don't have a job after moving to a new city for school)
however, I figure I might as well put up my FC for you guys so you can add me.

Considering people have been playing the Japanese version of Smash Bros 4 since it came out,I wouldn't be surprised.
Look forward to seeing if anyone kicks butt with Megaman, since people say it's not easy to pull of combos with him....or rather, looking forward to any characters that are unexpectedly good.

ive been playing the demo a lot. he is very hard to land combos with but its probably cause im not used to his range (and very used to marth's)
Neutral A (and in air) is megabuster though and it feels wierd

Will be getting it as soon as possible, but not likely on release day. Also not going to be able to do the GameStop tournament this time since there isn't one near where I currently live </3
Joined the Brawl tourney a few years back, but lost in the first leg because they didn't let us choose our characters. I did what I could with Yoshi and a WiiMote, though :I
Beat two opponents, lost to a bloody Kirby on Halberd. I still rue the day...
MegaMan seems more like a pokey/harassy kind of fighter though, then he can use his (what appear to be very) strong smash attacks to finish off the enemy. I can see Crash Bomb being almost on the Zero-Buster (from MvC3) level of usefulness for setting up combos though, especially on airborne enemies. And depending on how Leaf Shield works, that one might be handy too.

Leaf shield is terrible because you can only run, jump, and throw it while its active. which means if you get knocked off while its active you're basically screwed.
I agree with the pokey aspect, except that Villager is similar just a ton better. Has a ton of poke and zoning aspects because with proper control you make an area around you a literal death zone (freaking tree)

Leaf shield is a real disappointment IMO. It has substantial startup/use lag and has very limited use from what I've seen. It stops projectiles, but isnt very useful as a counter like Fox/Falco's reflectors, and the attack itself has low damage/knockback when thrown. And, again, it makes you a sitting duck.
It's a real shame, I was hoping that it'd be good =/

Does it at least damage your opponent if the revolving leaves touch them before you throw it? MIGHT be a good edgehog ability if so. Otherwise, I guess it can kinda help protect you when recovering... but otherwise, doesn't sound as great as I was hoping :I
EDIT -- Also I feel like MegaMan would be a good counter to Villager then, since he can stay far from the death zone and still land some damage? I think fast fighters like Falcon and Sonic would give Megaman trouble though. Little Mac looks pretty good at closing gaps safely as well.

Not sure about close-ranged Leaf Shield, I'll give it a try later. Megaman is a very diferent character, but he's a great ranged-fighter. He can hit in all directions with Metal Blade, which is a nice utility move, and switching between that and Crash Bomer makes for some fairly fast-paced distance spam. He also rocks with his up air; Air Shooter blasts straight up and takes opponents with it. It can take even low-percent enemies WAY up if ya hit with it right, but its a bit hard to land. To make him even better, Hard Knuckle is amazing. Long-ranged meteor smash with minimal startup time. Also, I love his mega buster. You can phase from a safe distance. Just be ready to get away and/or deal with some close-ranged fighters.
In short, there's always a way to annoy your opponent from a distance and rack up decent damage. Just have to figure out the use for leaf shield.
EDIT: Leafshield does do damage, but it doesn't last very long, and it seems like every other leaf will fail to hit if you stay on top of your foe. Again, not exactly useful.

it's looking like I'll just play Mega for funsies, and I'll end up maining with Samus (like always) along with Villager, Falco, and Greninja. Speaking of which, how's he play?
I know it's old news, but I'm still upset Mewtwo got replaced by Lucario. I was SO good with Mewtwo, and never quite made an adequate transition to Lucario.

There are rumors that connecting the 3DS version to the WiiU version will unlock more chars.
Also: just playing the demo. So all that I can do is Mario, Pikachu, Link, MegaMan, and Villager.

Ditto on the demo. Link feels a lot better than before and they almost doubled his vertical recovery on spin attack. pikachu's quick attack actually damages now too which is nice.
I agree MM's upair is great, though hard to land, the startup time on hard knuckle is a bit much for me (though i main marth and zelda so my dair is rather fast, like everything) I don't think leaf shield is a good edgeguard because if you get hit(which you still can), and you fall off the stage, you can't recovery until it wears off or you throw it.
As for MM's matchup vs villager, I don't think his damage/range is good enough. both crash bomb and metal blade have too much endlag and just ask to be hit by bair, fair, or sideB from villager. not to mention if they want to they can just yoink it out of the air (siutational, but possible)
