Reconstructed years after its destruction by the howling maw of Gospel, the Dark Citadel has remained primarily unoccupied. Someone funded it, in secret, and from nowhere mettaurs and engineers appeared to construct it. Any attempt to ransack it was met with lethal measures, and in no time at all, it was as though it had never fallen.
Set apart by massive blackened steel ramparts from the rest of the Hacker's Network, this impressive citadel leans into and fully disguises one of the few landmark mountains throughout the entire Undernet, and also spreads across the plains surrounding. Several tiers of similar steel and obsidian walls give a darkly pristine feeling about the entire place as those curious enough to enter walk up the hillside. Cankerous black towers sporting an uncountable number of crude spikes rise above the corners of each tier in height surpassing even the walls of the succeeding level, and each bristles with "inactive" (or at least abandoned) missile turrets.
The lower plains serve more as a civilized Hackers N than as a piece of the fortress itself, and they remain separated from it by an even greater barricade than that which holds them apart from the locale itself.
Long ago it was forgotten who originally made this dark place theirs, but given the few intrusions and the even fewer returns from the higher tiers of the Dark Citadel, rumors spread that they may still reside there, waiting...

The undernet... a place long forgotten, thought lost to the halls of time, remaining nothing more than a note in history books taught to those who study the obscurities of the net. To some, it had become a footnote worth forgetting. To others, a legend worth finding. However, for one lone Navi, it stands as the last clue to memories never attained.
Standing on the outskirts of the citadel, not daring to draw too close to the dark fortress, a Navi clad in crimson and silver searches. For what? None can say, even himself. All he knows is that this is where it all began for him; where his first fleeting memory was formed, and where he managed to find out bits and pieces about his creation. This place had been inaccessible for years, leaving the Navi with no connection to his past. But now that it sprawls out before him, accessible to all, he searches for that tiny bit of data that might at last answer the questions that burn deeply in his heart. Though he knows that any data that may have remained is surely gone, he tries anyway; looking for that one little trinket that would explain to him who he is…. and, more importantly, why he is…..

[bgcolor=000055] “I drown myself with waters deep within...” _______________________________ “Excuse me, sir,” a heavenly voice directed to the NetNavi clad in silver and crimson, “But, can you tell me where I am?”
The voice was tranquil and sweet, something not of this forsaken place, probably not even a part of the Undernet. It came from Megami, who stood clad in pieces of leather clothing of a slightly revealing garb and boots that were knee high with trimmings of purple meeting crimson. Even the darkened clothing could not hide that she was probably not of this realm.
However it was apparent, by the foot prints that led from the edges of Hacker’s Net direction to this place on the hill that she had come traveling from the city, and even farther considering she was alien. Her eyes had clearly not seen this place before as she gazed upon her surroundings in a shift of her eyes before they had gone back to the NetNavi, and her foot placement shown chastity with her boots clicked together tightly contradicting her wear. Her gloved hands were kept to her not daring to violate the NetNavi’s space with even a gesture towards him
She was nothing short of a lost little girl.
Still, she was on a mission to find information in the dark and ridden place, and so she had simply taken a step forward towards the mysterious NetNavi showing that she was referring to him with her question. She had traveled far in the Undernet, and she could hope that this place, whether it contained that fabled Ura BBS or not, could possibly be of significance to her quest to gather information to avert the chaos of Network. ______________________________ “Deep within your smile.” ::OOC Stats::Now Listening To: ”Gentle” by The Divine MadnessIC Attire: Megami:: Fallen from GraceLocation Change From: Hackers N Chatty Ditz: -----

*Rising from the ashes of data long lost, the Navi, clad in ornate crimson armor with polished silver trim, stands to face the young girl. After a moment, a set of six crimson blades appear from his back and take their place as a halo of sorts, framing his form. Looking to her for a moment with a slightly puzzled expression, he nods and gives a short answer*
?: Yes, I can.
*The Navi then cocks his head slightly and raises an eyebrow, one of his shining red eyes widening in curiosity. He then simply lets the awkward silence hang in the air as he awaits a reason for the question asked....*

[bgcolor=000055] “I drown myself with waters deep within...” _______________________________ color=991111]Yes, I can. Megami’s eyes stopped wandering hearing the response and went back to the figure, slightly distracted by the strange halo that appeared on the NetNavi’s head. After staring at it for a moment, she simply deemed it as a display of some sort. The NetNavis within the Undernet certainly had strange properties to them. “Oh, good!” Megami had said clasping her hands together as she looked towards the NetNavi with blissful eyes, “What is this strange place? It seems...different unlike the rest of this land.”The Undernet seemed broken and twisted in many ways throughout its expansion. However, this place was different to the eyes. Megami did not see the twisted and spiraling pieces of path like in the main area when she entered the Undernet, nor did she see the broken buildings or slightly crumbling area like that of the estranged city, Hackers Net that reminded her of Netopia slums. This land on the hill had some traces of natural to it. Megami’s eyes, went to the NetNavi’s own red ones, a slightly discomforting feeling from them since she was use to yellow glow from the other Undernet’s Heel Navis and Silence’s own eyes when she had crossed paths with him.[/blockquote] ______________________________ “Deep within your smile.” ::OOC Stats::Now Listening To: ”Gentle” by The Divine MadnessIC Attire: Megami:: Fallen from GraceChatty Ditz: -----

*Noticing where the young girl was looking, the crimson Navi turns his head and looks at his halo. He then glances back at the girl briefly before returning gaze to his weapon, wondering if something could be wrong. He takes a step forward, and it stays in place. He bends forward and backwards slightly, and it stays in place. He causes it to orbit, and still it stays in place. Everything seems to be in order, so he simply shrugs the incident off*
?: Is it? I hadn't noticed.
*The Navi thinks back for a moment; the sky looked the same virtually everywhere, the ground was the same, the air was the same... what could she mean? What was different? He thought for a moment before looking around and seeing the giant fortress that sems to cover several square miles. Was that what she was refering to? It almost had to be*
?: Oh, I see. Well, I believe that we're roughly 10 miles south of the Hackers Network. Does that help you?
*The Navi once again pauses in silence for a response, still not quite grasping what the Navi before him was asking of him...*

“Really? Hmm? That is a shame.”
Megami saw things so differently that she herself had her own sort of blindness. It figured with her naïve nature that she had not considered that not everyone in the Undernet thought much on the terrain or the surrounding. Maybe it was because it was that they lived there for so long that their perception went nothing beyond face-value. However, Megami had saw to every detail, including where she stood to the point that she could marvel at the fortress as if it was something alien (to her, it was after all).
”Oh, I see. Well, I believe that we're roughly 10 miles south of the Hackers Network. Does that help you? “
Megami’s head tilted hearing this.
“Hacker’s Network?” Megami had said pausing and looking backward from whence she came. Her head lowered as her bundles of chestnut hair risen and fallen to her cheeks in a sweep forth trying to curtain her face as she thought. It was almost instantly that she swept it back with a hand revealing her shock, “Oh! That was perhaps that place from whence I just came?”
She obviously had seen few signs, but thought of them not significant. It was a miracle she survived this long in this land that the shady Chanceman told her was “hopeless.”
“Well, I apologize for my rudeness.” Megami begun turning to the NetNavi once more as she looked into his red eyes with her pristine blue ones, “Thank you, kind sir! I am called, Megami. That was the name my dear friend had given me!” she spoke as her eyes wandered for a second in such a dreamy manner, fondly thinking of the reason why she even explored this place, “Please, if you may, tell me your name?” ______________________________ “Deep within your smile.” ::OOC Stats::Now Listening To: ”Gentle” by The Divine MadnessIC Attire: Megami:: Fallen from GraceChatty Ditz: -----

*What a strange creature, this Navi was.... so many questions, and such an odd design. What purpose could hair possibly serve in combat? Surely it could be of little practical use.
Unsure if his opinions could be considered rude or not, the Navi chooses to shrug them off, moving forward. The girl had just asked another question, and there was no reason not to answer....*
Elegy: Yes, I may. My name is Elegy.EXE, and it was granted by....
*She had stated where she obtained her name from, so it must be a normal custom for intruduction. Except.... well, he had no idea who had given him his name in truth, or even if it truly was his name. It was simply a word that he had seen written on a piece of junk data when he was activated, so he adopted it for himself*
Elegy: ....a piece of junk data that I found.
*Elegy gives a proud smile to Megami; surely this was a fine way to obtain a name that was worthy of high honors!*

[bgcolor=000055] “I drown myself with waters deep within...” _______________________________ ”Yes, I may. My name is Elegy.EXE, and it was granted by....”
Megami’s eyes opened up with a pique of curiosity. The tension was killing her...
” ....a piece of junk data that I found.”
“Your name came from junk data?” The NetNavi asked with intrigue. She was actually interested with all honesty, “I have never heard of being named in such a way, but it sounds truly enchanting! To be named by something that was remnants of the past, and not to mention, a name such as ‘Elegy’ means...” she had paused as her eyes rolled to the top of her head. A single finger pushing to the right side of her head as if she was trying to think. “Oh! If you please...”
Megami was not the sharpest NetNavi considering her method of being born. She knew nothing, not of herself or not of the network, and all of it was a year worth of knowledge giving to her by her Net Operator. For such an occasion when she knew not of meanings, she had been given many special programs by young Rosetta Lu who was a relative to her dearest Net Operator. A program that let her emulate human clothing in themes, basic language and translation, and not to mention...
“Ah, here it is!” The female NetNavi had said holding up with both hands a book as this as a fist and as tall as an average textbook. On the front, it had written across it, “Digital Dictionary 20XX” as the text. With a reach and opening of the cover, a small display screen had actually opened before Megami and seemed to change with every turn of a page as it acted like an actual book even when it searched for words.
“Ah! Elegy!” she had exclaimed in her usual glee, “It means a sad or melancholic poem or song to lament the dead.” Megami’s eyes softened reading the text before lifting her finger, closing the book, and holding it to her bosom. “Even if the occasion sounds saddening, yet the gesture and the name are beautiful, yes?” she asked the NetNavi’s opinion, seeming oblivious of his persona being so much like her own in the confusion of this strange world.
Then again, that is probably out of all the NetNavis she seen so far in the Undernet, she actually felt some closeness to him. *Elegy's eyebrow rises once again at Megami's words... so this wasn't considered a normal way to be named? This was a bit of a disheartening discovery... as was the meaning of his name. He didn't even know any dead people, and yet his name insinuated that he was lamenting them with song? How would one lament the dead, anyway? They're dead, so it's not like they could hear a song. After a few moments of letting his mind wander on the subject for a few moments too long, he snaps out of it and returns his gaze to Megami*
Elegy: ...I.... suppose?
*Unsure of how to respond, Elegy simply gives a slight shrug. His wonderful name suddenly seemed to come across as somewhat lackluster when its real meaning came to light... however, it also sparked a thought. His eyes suddenly droping from Megami's, Elegy takes his finger and places it on the edge of the corner of the book and pulls slightly, as if trying to look inside*
Elegy: So what does it say about the word "Megami"? I don't remember hearing it before now...

[bgcolor=000055] “I drown myself with waters deep within...” _______________________________ ” ...I.... suppose?”
Megami constantly nodded her head with such a sincere smile upon her face. She was oblivious of the NetNavi’s mixture of confusion. After all, why should he be? Megami felt he should be proud of his name seeing she felt a sweet song for those who passed from this world was an honorable thing. Thinking about how this world below the regular network was looked upon as a border between “death and life,” she wished someone would sing everyday for this depressing place.
”So what does it say about the word "Megami"? I don't remember hearing it before now...”
“Hmm? My name?” Megami had asked as she had noticed the NetNavi gesturing towards the book. He must had been very curious, and it was enough to make Megami realize he wanted to see. She had no obligations as she had been just as quick to flip the cover open herself as she had responded with an epiphany of a statement, “I do not know.” she had admitted with a weak smile to follow.
“It never occurred to me to check what my name meant after I received this book from Rosetta-chan,” she had said frantically flipping pages. After all, it was something she was absolutely captivated by: the meaning of the name her loved one, er...rather her friend, had given her and possibly what she meant to him. By the time Megami opened the book to the section; placing a finger and stroking down the listed words, she had stopped at Megami.
“Ah! Megami is a feminine Electopian form of the term Kami,” Megami’s lips twisted before pressing her finger upon the term, “Kami.” Instantly, the window changed and the pages flew past redirecting them to the appropriate section. Placing her finger once more, Megami was even more tensed and curious to the word, “Kami,” she had begun once more, “Is Electopian for Spirits, Natural Forces, or Essence of Shinto faith. It is translated as...’God’ or ....” Megami paused. She pressed her finger towards the words “God” and begun to auto-search once more.
Her words had fallen short of audible in tone, her voice was less enthusiastic, and her eyes had gone to and fro looking through the book as if she was possessed by the pages and words. Her expression seemed to become somewhat sour as she researched the pages right before Elegy and seemed to almost forget he was there.
She was literally lost in translation. ______________________________ “Deep within your smile.” ::OOC Stats::Now Listening To: ”Gentle” by The Divine MadnessIC Attire: Megami:: Fallen from GraceChatty Ditz: -----

*Elegy stands quietly for some time watching Megami flip the pages, cross-referencing different entries and going from word to word to word. With little to do beyond this, he thought it best to keep quiet. However, after a while he begins to think about what to do… he could continue to wait, but that was boring. He could walk away, but that might be rude. He could interrupt Megami’s page-flipping frenzy, but that too might be rude. He could slice her book in two using his halo, but that might be awkward.
He then begins to think about the situation from another point of view; here was a girl with a book filled with explanations, and he was a Navi lacking much knowledge of the world in which he lives. So, instead of interrupting or walking away, Elegy quietly circles Megami and begins to read over her shoulder. He then remains silent, attempting to learn as many of the terms as possible because of the fact that he could be considered, both literally and figuratively, at a lack for words.*

[bgcolor=000055] “I drown myself with waters deep within...” _______________________________ Megami had been frantically flipping pages at a phenomenal rate.
She had jumped from “God” to “Omnipotent“, “Omnipotent” to “Omnipresent”, and “Omnipresent” to “Omni scientific.” Megami stopped to this extent as she had stared and tried to connect these words and terms to herself. All of them meaning just that, “All” or “Everything.” It was strange that she was referred to as the name chosen when she thought about it now, and Xenneth of all people thought of it; someone who considered himself weak and lacking so many qualities! This was just like her, who had simply come to with no definite memory, perception, or knowing of her being.
Why was she named this strange name, and even more unsettling, how did Xenneth see her? She hoped she could see him again to ask this of him.
“Oh!” Megami perked up noticing the NetNavi before her missing. Her eyes went left to right, “Ah! Elegy-san!” she jumped up almost panicked as she reached for her chest. Her hand rested upon the NetNavi icon that shaped itself to an angelic wing as she caught her breath. She had almost forgotten that this place was the Undernet, and even more so, she was in the presence of someone who was seeking knowledge.
“My apologies!” she had continued to speak, “My name, is not something I quite understand myself at the moment. Sometimes, this book confuses even me.” the NetNavi explained holding it up to Elegy.
Megami’s eyes had seemed to be lost between thoughts of now and then...when she had gotten that name and what it meant now. ______________________________ “Deep within your smile.” ::OOC Stats::Now Listening To: ”Gentle” by The Divine MadnessIC Attire: Megami:: Fallen from GraceChatty Ditz: Bad post, my bad. [glow=white,2,500]*Embera came blowing into the citadel. She was finally home again. Whistling, Scruffy came to attention, bowing its head to her. Shaking his paw, she walked around to the entrance again.*
Embera: Warrior! You know you won't find anything here, right? This used to be the Revolution's base of operations, and everything looks more or less the same.
*Embera was right. As she went through the building, she could find the old living quarters where the nightmares of Caliga occured. Scruffy brushed against her side as she looked over the area, checking if anyone new was here. Going back downstairs to the ground floor, she came across Elegy and Megami. Her tone changed to one of complete seriousness with some small inquisitiveness.*
Embera: What are you two doing here?[/glow]

The Revolution's old base? How did he not know that?
... Perhaps because he never officially joined. But regardless of what Embera said, it was still worth searching anyway.
He followed her down to where Megami and Elegy were... perplexed to see them here as well.
Seems it wasn't abandoned after all.
