Rikaru climbed quietly up a rather treacherous rocky face of a mountain found in a run down network that once was considered part of the active netopia network.
The mountain its self was quite large, rivaling those in the Elbrus range in Sharo, lacking in ice and snow though, thankfully. It was a common place navis would go to find some solitude, or train their bodies in the past. Now though, it was just a network that slowly deteriorates due to viruses over time, much like water carving away at stone. Normal navis avoid the run down networks that no longer get maintained, out of fear of what one might find. Rikaru was not a normal navi though...
A rock shifted under foot as he neared the ledge he was trying to reach, throwing him off balance, he quickly latched onto a large boulder jutting out to prevent falling. His scarf whipped in the wind that blew unhindered by anything at the height he currently was at. Ignoring the thought of the painful fall he just avoided, he set him self to finish climbing his way to the ledge he had picked for his 'ambush point'.
Rikaru was a bounty hunter...well when he wasn't being paid for other odd jobs. Someone had contracted him to bring in a certain navi though. Why? He did not know, or care. Was a detail he paid no attention to, as he was paid to bring him in, and he frankly didn't care why they were wanted. He had discovered the navis location, and knew he would most likely come by rather soon, as it was the safest path one could take through the area.
Rikaru finally made it to the ledge, and stood near the edge, looking down on the rather tame path along the side of the mountain, much more pleasant then the climb he just underwent. But he had a distinct advantage this way, and planned to use it. He silently waited for his target to come along, which he knew was only a matter of time....

[bgcolor=392600]Oi, Rocky mountain path eh? Well, at least you didn't make it an open field or a city street. Good man good man. ---- He had heard of this network, tales of grandeur, a proving grounds for would be champions. His trench coat's tassels betrayed the rest of him, and surrendered to the gusting wind. Jax's hood was down for once allowing his golden brown eyes to scan the forest beneath him, and the mountain above. His grey hair held in its ponytail that dipped just under the neck in length.
The stalwart traveler had ascended the path far beyond the tree level, stripping the expansive view of its dank and dimly lit tree floor, and replacing it with a luscious green sea that swayed in the breeze. He stopped and stared when the winds picked up, entranced by the light tilt each tree made. When the trees returned to their original positions it was like a signal to Jax to keep trekking the path carved into the mountain.
Though he would never express it, he was looking forward to the view at the top.

Its not every day that one was able to train in this network. Merrill and Healer planned on taking full advantage of it as the started assending the mountain. Merrill flew them up partway, and from there, and then the pair started to climb up the mountain. Merrill used his swords to sometimes create a ledge for himself to hop up and stand on. Healer would use Merrill to help climb when she need help.
Merrill was excited to be training again. As far as he knew, there wold be few, if any, navis or things to bother them. If they came accross a virus, they could fight it off. As they climbed, Healer slipped, and Merrill caught her with a free hand. They hung there for a moment. Merrill then put Healer on his head, and stabbed a sword into a crack, and climbed up over the ledge. When he made it, Healer jumped down, and they sat. They sat and stared down at the green, lush trees, and in the distance, the rising morning sun.

Rikaru was not disapointed, he did not have to wait long before Jax walked around a bend in the path, coming into view from his perch up on the ledge. He could easily wait and jump down in a surprise strike and likely end things rather easy, but he also was tired of how easy the last few jobs he had done were. And something about this navi seemed to give him an impression that he would not be lile those others.
He kicked off the ledge, his scarf end whipping about as it trailed behind him, as he fell to the ground below. He landed rather hard, falling to a kneel, and bracing himself by putting a hand to the ground. He quickly stood back up and glanced at Jax as he began to make sand flow from his hand, it taking the form of his weapon of choice.
" Jax, I presume. Your existance has irked someone, and thus are to be captured. Prepare your self.". Spear in hand now, Rikaru took a moment to size up Jax. He definately looked like he had seen his fair share of battles. This he hoped, would finally be an interesting job.
He finally made his move, closing the distance between the two with only a few strides, he lashed out at Jax with his spear in one fluid combo attack. Using the tip as a make shift blade, he slashed diagonally up along his chest, then spining, he brought it down in a mirror fashion. He finished with a quick slash cross his midrif, flowed by a lunge to drive his spear into Jax's chest.

Jax had stopped once more to gaze at the endless expanse beyond. However, this time he was cut short not by the dulling of the wind, but by a voice that addressed him by name. He stepped and turned to face the navi and as he spoke could think of no one living who'd want him 'dead' hard enough to hire someone. It mattered little because the foe was here and on the attack.
The first blow came at him as a slashing motion at an angle. He shifted his arm and deflected it, allowing his motion to continue while he remained unharmed. The follow up was met with the same response as the first, this time pushing it down so it grazed the ground as it went. Using the opposite arm this time he stopped the brash swipe at his midsection dead cold with his forearm.
The thrust was the only thing that required his movement, and he didn't budge. Without any motion whatsoever a pillar of stone about a foot in width burst from the ground to meet the spear in Jax's stead. The blow from the would be assassins weapon shattered the fragile defense Jax had constructed, but it did the duty that was requested of it. It's crumbled corpse littering the ground between them.
The silent navi again made no motion, but the ground answered him. The rough dirt beneath Rik began to churn and liquefy, then devour the immediate ground around it to add to the attack. If he did not move it would suck him down into it as quicksand does to unfortunate travelers.
Almost answering his foes thoughts of an interesting fight. Jax raised his left arm to about chest height and make a flicking gesture towards the mountain face. Squelching all doubt that he was manipulating the area. Its response was near instant and loose rocks from high above the duo dislodged themselves and tumbled down towards Rik, pounding away and knocking free other rocks on their way down. Making it well known to those in the area that a fight was brewing.

Merrill felt the ground start to shake, and when he did, he slipped, and nearly fell. He managed to catch himself, and as soon as he stood on the ledge where the pair was sitting, it began to fall appart. He grabbed healer and set her on his shoulder, and he spread his wings and took off. Together they flew skyword, looking for whatever was happening. Merrill noticed the avalanche of rock, and realized that if they had been where they were a minute ago, both him and Healer would be dead. As Merill watched the rocks, he noticed two navi's fighting. One of stone, one with a spear-like object. Merrill floated dow a bit at watched Rikaru stand where there was quicksand, and Merrill raised his hand up, summoning a wave of water. He threw it at the ground at Rikaru's feet, trying to push him backwards, away from the sand and the heavy rocks that were falling. Turning to Jax, he sent a second wave of water, pushing him back. He shouted at both of them.
"What is the name of Light is going on here?! I asked for a peacely training, and a glorious sunrise, to nearly get killed by rock and who knows what else around here! What are you two doing?!"

Rikaru was right, this navi would indeed make for a good opponent. He deflected his strikes almost effortlessly it seemed, granted he didn't try to overly hard, and it was nothing special, but he couldn't honestly say when the last time a navi was able to put off his attack so easily.
He barely was bothered by the sudden shift in the ground, as it turned to sand and started to swirl, sucking him in...or would normally. His being primarily sand elemental him self, he was able to stand on top of the quicksand like ground with no hindrance.
The boulders that came tumbling down was another matter though. But before he had a chance to react to that threat, suddenly a wave of water crashed into him, knocking him back hard enough that he stumbled a bit, and was on solid ground before his balance was righted. The quicksand now was more a swirling soupy mud with the water that was added to it, and several of the boulders that rained down found them selves sucked down into the vat of sand and earth.
Rikaru brought his spear around and slammed it into one of the few boulders that had tumbled far enough from the initial course to be a threat to him. The impact shattered the rock, dust and debris raining down and settling around him.
He turned face the flying navi that had interfered with his duel with his mark, none to pleased at the interruption, regardless of the somewhat assistance that had resulted. "You there, bug boy. This is not a matter of your concern. If you continue to interfere, I WILL eliminate your presence."
His mind spoken, he turned his focus back to the task at hand. He decided to keep his distance somewhat, using the elements he had control over to his advantage much like Jax had.
The wind suddenly picked up, blowing hard toward Jax, this alone was not threatening to him, though likely made flying difficult for Merrill. Another powerful wind came in from behind Jax though, the two fronts slamming into each other and twisting around violently as they each fought against one another, forming a cyclone behind Jax. The cyclone tore at the ground and face of the mountain, picking up rocks of various sizes, adding to the violent forces arsenal as the winds not only tried to pull the two navis toward it, but also slowly made its way closer toward Jax, threatening to add him to the jumbled mass of debris swirling in its body.
Rikaru though stood and seemed unfazed by the winds that tore through the area, his arms crossed over his chest now, his spear having vanished. His scarf and shirt ends whipped madly in the wind, toward the cyclone, but he merely smiled at his work. It took some focus, but enjoyed the results all to much not to be pleased.

Water. Lots and lots of water. Jax was soaked almost completely, trickles lining his trench coat and running down his rigid face. He did not respond to Merril beyond locking eyes with him. Before he could act on the offender a gust of wind blew at him from the front. Jax remained unmoved by the gale due to his sheer weight but it did help dry him off.
His eyes met with Rik and then a second burst assaulted him from behind. He disregarded it... for a short time. The crackling and swooshing that came shortly after however demanded attention. The silent navi turned his head to glance behind him and beheld a tornado ripping up the pathway towards him at a slow but sure pace.
Rough winds acted as a vacuum, attempting to suck him into the storm, even for his size Jax was not impervious to winds as strong as this. Rather than face the attack head on, he chose a more indirect route.
He opened both palms towards the ground and it opened up at his request, dropping him into the earth and closing behind after. Masking Jax from the windy onslaught as it passed overhead. What would follow after this could be considered nothing less than attack manipulation at its finest.
The ever growing in strength tornado slowly crept up the path towards its creator, picking up pieces of the ground as it went. However not but two seconds after Jax vanished, lava began to explode from random portions of the mountain face. It gushed in exuberant amounts onto the entire path. Chunks being picked up by the windstorm and flung in all directions while retaining some for itself.
The lava spurted from up on various points of the mountain face as well, giving the area the feel of a live volcano coming to life after a millennium of dormant sleep. Jax did not reappear from beneath the now lava drenched pathway; leaving his exact position a total mystery.
[2/5] I don't recall ever using PM in RP more than once, and that was a long time ago to create sand panels in a deserted building.

Merrill looked at Rikaru first. He sighed, and fowned when he was called a "bug boy." He was quite frustarated that his day was ruined so far. However, he didn't have much time to think about it as the cyclone started to make it much harder to fly. He felt it drawing them in, and While he held on to Healer with one hand, so she could deflect some of the rocks with fire, he knew he had to land. He slowly manuevered his way behind Jax, keeping far enough away from the cyclone for it to throw them, but enough that he did start sliding towards i. With a grunt, and a quick movement, Merrill summoned an MZKeyZoth into the ground, into part of the muddy rock, and used it to support them staying still. Healer summoned balls of wax to combat the rocks.
Then, he felt a change. Merrill watched as Jax as he withstood the tornado and watched it aim towwards Rikaru. Then, before Merrill and Healer's eyes, Jax was gone. Merrill looked around, then felt the ground shake before lava sprouted out in front of them. The heat was intense, and Merrill realized that if they didn't move, they would be trapped. So, he ran to the edge of the cliff, and jumped, spreading his wings, and taking flight to the other side of the battlefield. Landing farther down behind where Rikaru was, Merrill took the opertunity to throw a blade of his at where he last saw Rikaru, and he shouted over the noise of the rocks and lava the best he could.
"The name is Merrill Heckentash! Not bug boy! Don't forget it!"
Then, he threw a blade upinto the air, and slammed his hand downwords, and watched the blade land somewhere in the area, causing a medium sized explosion that sent rock and lava around. Not wanting to be caught off guard. He took back into the air, the steem and lava covering the general area where what was left of the battle field. Merrill hovered and searched for signs of either opponent, using the smoke as a semi smokescreen, while Healer rained fireballs down below.

Ooc: sorry forgot its my turn. >.>

Rikaru was not happy when he watched Jax vanish into the earth, he had never seen a navi able to do anything like it before. Which brought a new problem to the fore...his own attack was bearing down on him. 'Interesting...' he thought, not to overly concerned yet.
Suddenly though, various points on the mountain erupted, sending rock flying, and lava spewing across the area. The cyclone had no problems with using this turn of events to add to its arsenal of debris swirling in its body. As relaxed as he tried to appear, now he WAS concerned.
Rikaru uncrossed his arms and formed his spear again as he watched Merrill take to the sky once more. He chuckled inwardly to himself as Merrill threw a blade at him as he flew around behind him. It would take more then that to throw him off his game. He spun his spear as the blade neared, the head deflecting the projectile away from him safely.
Rikaru was stuck with limited options at this point though, as most of the once peaceful mountain path, was now flowing with lava. And to top it off the cyclone he had created was nigh upon him. He didn't have much say in the matter though, as suddenly another blade slammed into the ground near his feet. Before he could react, the ground he was on exploded, sending him flying back towards the face of the mountain.
Rikaru with the help of some bursts of wind, managed to right himself mid air, to land on a jagged out cropping of rocks where there was thankfully a lack of magma. The cyclone continued its course down the trail, past where he once stood and continuing down towards where Merrill had landed.
Rikaru ignored Merrill for the time being, his eyes sweeping the area for any sign of Jax. Disturbingly he was unable to locate him, he did not like how the situation that he figured was in his favor was reversed so easily.
He turned to where the cyclone pressed onward down the path, and shook his head. The fool kid chose the worst place to head, granted he couldn't see past the spinning monstrosity of wind, rock, and lava. He assumed the navi was still back there. Instead of worrying about dealing with the annoyance, he kept watch for a sign of Jax, who he considered the main threat at the time.

[bgcolor=392600]Oh I forgot all about this, sorry gents!
-------
Jax remained underground while Rik and Merril traded blows, preferring his solitude amongst the dark earth around him. He was not running though, simply biding his time, waiting for the right moment to strike. The silent destroyer could feel the movements of Rik above him. The plan was made and now only needed to be executed.
The lava churned and flowed down the path and over the sides of the mountain face into the forest below, before long it would ignite the serene scene. From within the path itself Jax made a motion that none could see and the lava stopped gushing onto the path, slowing receding back into the trail, however before it could completely fade a replacement hazard formed. This one of the coldest water, as it mixed with the still draining lava the two converged and a loud PSSSSSS drowned out all chance of conversation while the steam created blocked all sight.
The water gushed forth even harder than the lava ever could, quickly over taking the magma and extinguishing it before the goop could reach the luscious green sea below the combatants.
During the hazy mist that flowed from the sullied water on the path Jax erupted from underneath the ground, his silhouette being the only visible indicator of his presence. His departure from his hiding place beneath the ground was a leap, the shape of an axe with a head almost as large as he himself in tow. Jax swung the colossal weapon overhead and onto Rik the sheer force would be enough to shatter entire boulders let alone navis.
