*An emergency warning window suddenly pops up before every Navi in the area, revealing Terra with a messagec.*
Terra: Good evening. For those of you who don't recognize me, my name is Terra and I am the current leader of the ONB.
As I'm sure everyone knows, tragedy has befallen Creamland. The network is no longer a common network, but rather something that has been taken over by unknown invaders. I have spoken with the Creamland Royal Family and have discovered that the change is somehow permanent. However, they have also revealed their plans to run their backup data on a new digital server, meaning the former Creamland will be returning to operation soon.
However, this is not the reason that I am addressing you today It seems that the change in Creamland has spawned some form of monster that now threatens our very way of life. While we are searching for a way to defeat this creature using every resource that we have available, we need more input from you, the people of the net. As such, I am opening up the ranks of the ONB to the people of the world and am creating the ONB Grand Counsel.
The counsel members will not be appointed, as the previous one was. Rather it will be voted on by the Navis of this world; each Navi voting for the representative from his or her country. We will recognize seats from Creamland, Netopia, Netfrica, Gigamerica, Sharo, and Electopia. The role of the elected individuals will be to give voice to individual countries in order to help defeat this being and govern more fairly our world.
Everyone will be allowed to run for this office within a set of specific guidelines. The campaign will begin soon, but I ask that you all remember what is at stake, and put that first.
More information on this act will come soon.
*With that, the window disappears*

[glow=white,2,500] *Embera was almost alarmed at the notification that appeared on her. How could they have even got this to her?...Wait a minute...she was locked up...of course they'd have her information on file....This didn't pose well for her as she whistled for Scruffy to port out until she called. Seeing no unfriendly faces, she dropped her mimic, as her data reconstructed back to its Fiera-esque shape.*
Embera: Huh...openings in the ONB...perhaps the net really can change after all...
*For but a mere moment, Embera pondered the very thought of being the representative of Netopia, to finally be free and known as Embera herself. Noone could ever confuse her with Fiera again. Her name would be volumes if she could be elected.... The thoughts were fleeting however, as she regained her senses.*
Embera: Yeah...like a criminal like me could ever be with Suki and Terra...I've gotta find my own way of taking care of this mess...After all...if I don't take care of this...than there's a good chance this could be pinned on Genesis, Zane, and I...
*Embera sat almost meditatingly in the corner of the room, as if in deep thought over the matter, ignoring the unfamiliar figure in the room.*[/glow]

As the solar queen mumbled to herself, the vampiric navi's wound healed and he rose from his coffin.
Shade: Jeez, do you have any idea how much that stings?!
As he rose, he noticed that the girl was all alone in the corner.
Shade: Hey, you look like you could use some help. Well, I suppose I could offer my services, if you are willing to become my master.

[glow=white,2,500] *Embera glared at the navi whom she had damaged prior. Sensing almost no power coming from him, she only nodded, un-amused.*
Embera: Y'know....you've got a rather sore lack of ambition, there. I'm not looking for anyone to be some sort of servant...And submitting yourself to someone...is just so poor. I'll take my leave...but not without leaving you this parting gift...
*Embera condensed the energy emitting from her body into a spherical shape. Taking it, and allowing it to grow larger, she threw it above Shade, bathing the vampire in scalding Solar rays. He was far from worth her time, and she departed for somewhere more...exciting.*[/glow]

Nightfall. The evening stars glistened visibly, their light dancing across the midnight-colored skies. Together this light was accompanied by the warmer glows of the lampposts throughout the town. It was a strange sight indeed, though that was to be expected of such a traditional-looking place paved by cobblestone roads, albeit a rather peaceful, alluring one.
Still, it was fortunate that those lampposts did little to pollute the night sky, noted a figure sitting at a nearby cafe. It gazed upward, in admiration of the work put into creating such a work, since few places ever put such dedication to the aesthetics, to the atmosphere that these places provided. Perhaps that was the intent however, pragmatism over mere enjoyment and pleasure. It was the way that this world had turned.
The insignificant character looked back towards his left, noting another black figure approaching. Gently the figure placed on a nearby table a small teacup filled to the brim with some unknown, warm drink. Within a few seconds, a small very cordial voice could be heard, with a slight trace of an Amerouppean accent.
'Ere you are, monsieur.
The figure sitting at the table looked towards the waiter and produced some Zenny, handing a slightly generous amount to the waiter as he reclined in his chair, noticing the way that the starlight so radiantly pranced across the surface of his drink. He quickly bowed his head towards the waiter to display a sign of gratitude for the late night service, and tilted his head upwards as he enjoyed the show of lights above while waiting for his drink to cool off. It was much too hot to be sipped at the moment, thought the figure as he stroked some of his hair to the side. He was content, even if perhaps a little... lonely.
After a few minutes of laying there in repose though, the being put down his drink and left the cafe, vanishing into the dark confines of the night.

At Com Square, a wind navi meditates...
From the skies above the square, a crepescular sky opens to stars and the nocturnal skyscape that the architecture below can only hope to reach... someday. But not this day. The sky opens.
In l'internet du soir, the Netopian night-livened utopia, the same scene unfolds: The sky, touched by the infinite lights below, splits to reveal that which is past it.
The alleyways of Kotobuki witness the same phenomenon, but from every direction and no particular way due to the nature of the area. Five skies open seven ways, and air begins to buffet all of those below.
Seven skies and nine ways across three networks and three countries, witnessed by millions. Static from the occurance begins to accumulate to where the slightest twitch of a navi or the vaguest gesture of a virus can feel their data move against the pressure, and the feeling is more than tangible.
At the Square red streams of data pour down, down, down toward a statue of the revered SearchMan, pride and joy of Sharonians everywhere and the onetime top elite operative of the winter country. The statue begins to disintegrate under the sluice but each bit of data folds onto the next in a far-too-organized manner.
By the outskirts of the elegant night-city, in the park where a massive pond sits as a center of relaxation, the red streams of data hit the surface of the water and speed heedlessly toward a gazebo on the water's edge where they pick up loose databits and add an out-of-place ancient gothic design to an already beautiful location.
Meanwhile, in the radiation-altered cityscape of Kotobuki, the same streams of crimson information rush toward a warehouse sitting outside the city-proper on more solid ground: Here they recolor and redress years of neglect, but also begin constructing a device in the center of the floor.
...and orchestrates...
The statue collapses under the manipulations of the new data, but as even the floor begins to give way it reveals the true nature of these mutilations: Stairs begin to appear, long and narrow steps leading down toward a center a small distance below where the statue stood. When all finished a portal, massive and glowing with ominous dark energy, stands free upon the ground. Those nearby can almost see a tunnel into the net behind the portal, regardless of the direction they're facing.
The gazebo gains gargoyles and granularity it did not dream of possessing before. The wooden appearance becomes hard stone, the slatted floor becomes massive slabs, the pathway leading to it becomes dirt and darkness. Torches lead the way to the structure, and once nearby, one might see a portal... and through it, steps leading downward and down, to infinity.
The warehouse transforms from a far-removed piecemeal structure to a hub of twisting and darkened pathways each leading to a different door. Each door leads to a different set of steps which then, in turn, lead to a different portal... but each is the same and connected, networked and assimilated through the strangeness of the area to become the same link to another place where a vast plain of darkness stands against a darker sky.
...until a dream becomes reality. Five years removed from its removal, an ancient locale is released.
Over each portal hovers a small and weakened barrier-guard, particulate red lines of warning data intended only to keep out those wary souls who might doublethink their descent... <WARNING: UNDERNET>

From the place where light had failed to tread, a figure much like the earlier one at the cafe seemed to spawn. He seemed slightly impatient, as if in search for something that was but a wild goose chase. Still, there was little left-
A portal? A border to another world now weakened, now... passable. Something about it almost seemed too familiar, too homely for the Navi. Perhaps this might be worth exploring. It was after all, one of the places that he failed to find It.
The figure approached the boundary, a border between this world and the netherworld. It was a border of life... and death. The slow sounds of a bass being played in a lulling, quiet march like that of a dirge, like something mourning the death of another, played within the Navi's head. It was home. Perhaps this was where he was meant to be.
After all, a ghost had no purpose in the world of the living... right?

The barrier program pulses faintly as if in answer to the being's thoughts.... and then blinks out of existence.

[bgcolor=black]Another being watched, its red glow dwarfed by the pure darkness of night. He had observed as the gazebo had altered without looking away, interested in what had caused it to change so suddenly. He watched as another navi entered, and quietly watched as it left through the portal. "Intriguing."The navi stepped after the other, interested in where this new link led. <Static: Access Undernet>

“I still long for you, No matter where you are.” _______________________________ A flash of light ran into L’Internet Du Soir, but after that, there was silence behind it... or at least the individual.
After all, did memories not make a sound? To the area, there were no pictures other than what was obvious, no colors, nor anything pertaining to those silent unseen images. To the individual, there were many to be heard and see with those sensations; and at the very least, felt. Just standing there amongst the park area, the female NetNavi’s chin dropped slightly as she could recall very faint sounds. Voices of laughter had come out soundly between two faces beyond a communication screen and a single NetNavi who was between them. Many times, they had smiles, they were all happy, and one would often praise just say the same phrase that killed the moments softly with nothing short of adoration.
“Big Brother, I’m so proud of you.” she would say.
Then Megami smiled and she still did now thinking about it. Xenneth had that soft glow upon his face. It felt pleasing at times to hear how the little girl was proud of her brother, but sometimes, she felt some ping of jealousy just hearing it. She was someone of the real world, and Xenneth would not break into hesitation to do something for her. She remembered how he would explain that she felt like the only family seeing that she would try to set so many appointments and days to come see him ever since his mother and father had gotten a divorce. His auntie from Choina would try to act as if she was a surrogate mother and his cousin a sister seeing she was attached to him. She could remember the day Rosetta asked Xenneth to loan Megami to her so they could get to know each other since Rosy had no NetNavi and she remembered Xenneth needed to hide the estranged NetNavi from his mother for a while since she was not even purchased.
That little girl that had a heart so big that housed such love had a shadow that casted sadness.
She was alone just as Xenneth was. Sure, Chezza would take care of her little niece from CreamLand just like she took care of Xenneth from Electopia. It seemed like the family had a tendency to date masculine jerks who abandoned their children. Just by being with Rosetta that day, Megami learned about how the young girl felt she was connected to Xenneth by the same loneliness. It was all too much weight for the female NetNavi; A human girl who was a pure genius and with such a big heart was kind and positive just to convince herself in truth that she was lonely.
The human world was fascinating, but also, so sad.
Megami had snapped out of her deja’vu and finally felt something was off. It was like looking at blue fire hydrant: it just did not look right in the picture. Turning, she could see the “discoloration,” the void that was within the park where she was mesmerized by memories. Where she once stood hearing the chatting conference between her friends, there was some sort of unusual portal and before it a NetNavi. It was strange, unusual, and possibly...a sign? Maybe this was something that would give her a hint behind this madness and make it easy for Xenneth to be found? With a step forth, she had approached this portal, but stopped seeing a lone NetNavi before the portal curious to see what was unfolding.
“Maybe...he has something to do with this.” Megami thought to herself. _______________________________ “We look for each other, and that’s what matters.” ::OOC Stats::Now Listening To: ”Toes“ by LightsIC Attire: Greener on this Side!Chatty Ditz: -----

*As Megami stared into the portal, from behind, she could feel a hand onto her shoulder. Then, in a nonchalant voice, a man called out to her.* ?: Miss...I can assure you...there's nothing behind that gate but darkness of spirit....after all...*Just then, the navi tipped his black hat upwards to meet her eye, it was a familiar face, of a frigid time the two had met. Just then, his signature smirk could be seen as he nodded to her.*Chanceman: I used to deal down there for some change!*The gambler was again present on the net; this time he was keeping Megami out of harm's way.* Chanceman: Of two things I can be certain: One; we are NOT welcome on the other side of there, and two; if there's anything to search for, it would NOT be in there...that's a dark part of the net, and you'd only be digging a grave if you went...consider that a warning.

“I still long for you, No matter where you are.” _______________________________ ” Miss...I can assure you...there's nothing behind that gate but darkness of spirit....after all...
“You are...!” As Megami spun around, responding to the hand and the source that was before her, she could faintly recall the NetNavi’s name at all, but he was familiar.
It was faint, but she could plainly remember some difficult as she explored the Tundra area: her losing a bracelet, the snow, and the difficulty of simply having the item returned at the expense of her Net Operator’s wallet. It was not one of her most secure moments seeing she was so defensive towards Xenneth and anyone trying to extortion him because of her carelessness. Stopping and gazing upon the NetNavi, she had heeded his words more than try to bare some dark resentment for him.
A matter of fact...why did she feel bitter? It was an unusual feeling...so much, she did not know what it was.
”I used to deal down there for some change!” the NetNavi went one, Of two things I can be certain: One; we are NOT welcome on the other side of there, and two; if there's anything to search for, it would NOT be in there...that's a dark part of the net, and you'd only be digging a grave if you went...consider that a warning.
Megami had assumed her natural pose: digits on her fingers together and palms pressing apart. Her legs together and body slightly forward to address her “savior” as she smiled politely. She was very thankful, truly from her heart to see a NetNavi from a time ago be very kind to her and worry. Worry? Yes, she assumed it was worry or concern of some sort. Even after the past aggressions, it was all nothing but a speck in a welcoming house. Even with such grace and such elegance, the NetNavi said some of the most depressing things as she responded to the warning:
“Thank you,” her voice so melodic, “However, without him, it feels as if I am buried alive waiting to die.”
Megami’s feelings for her Net Operator so apparent as she addressed Chanceman honestly. She remembered her code between herself and Xenneth: when it came to stranger NetNavis who had no apparent loyalty, names and descriptions of him and her as Net Operator and NetNavi were kept to a minimum. The internet was a dangerous place, and any information given was limited to keep each other safe. With her digits pressed together and fingers fiddling as she rocked her body back and forth in an innocent school girl like matter, Megami continued on.
“But alas, you are correct. The notion crossed my mind that perhaps, something can be done from within that portal about what is happening on the internet now. If it could, I would take that risk and make sure he comes home happily. What happens to me is of no big concern.” she spoke as if it was a selfless thought. _______________________________ “We look for each other, and that’s what matters.” ::OOC Stats::Now Listening To: ”Toes“ by LightsIC Attire: Greener on this Side!Chatty Ditz: -----

*As Chanceman listened to her words, he nodded intently, although he pretty much tuned her out until the last bit. It was a noble gesture, but this naive girl was a life he wasn't so willing to have on his conscience.*
Chanceman: That's a stark notion of self-sacrificial navi. But I know you're type, and whatever you're looking for...isn't going to be there. Ironic how I'm asking you to trust me, no, telling you to trust me, and I robbed you blind! But Miss....There is nothing behind that portal to assist you in your endeavor, mark my words...
*Chanceman's appearance was stern now, and he even twirled some dice between his fingers. He was willing to resort to force, should the need arise to keep her from the Undernet.*

“I still long for you, No matter where you are.” _______________________________ The first part either was a joke or a sincere choice of words. Whichever, Megami did not read too much into it; she did not have a grasp on sarcasm or joking when it came to humor. However, his words had some validity in their meaning as she spoke once more.
But Miss....There is nothing behind that portal to assist you in your endeavor, mark my words...
She nodded with her eyes closed, but not for long. She was very much aware just how quick this NetNavi was with movements. They were half-open, as if in a mesmerizing haze for when she spoke again, voice gentle and filled with the usual naïve tone. “Nonetheless, but is experience not valuable?” she had asked, but a weak smile spreading across her face, “That is if your warning is as true as it is, if I make it back, is it not valuable?” her half-smile seeming to have some sadness to it for even she knew even considering it was somewhat foolish.
She did not doubt the NetNavi. Megami did not even feel that the NetNavi was perhaps lying. The words “fool me once” was tossed around, but she could be a fool ten times over and still be somewhat considerate of words. Her faith only was questioned when it came to conflict with Xenneth’s, and with him absent, her idealism and naïve attitude was within full burst like an eruption. Looking to ChanceMan, and then turning a shoulder to him and gazing upon the portal where she seen the NetNavi trying to access, she was curious if by the moment if she could possibly gain access to the network area herself.
“You words have been marked as requested,” Megami said, “But hope, I still need just a ray of it. Even in such a dark desolate place, maybe more or less than I imagine, I still would like to know by my own hands if there is something I can do.”
Fresh in her mind, the passive attitudes of the ONB commander and the individuals, the lone female NetNavi felt as if she needed to try something, even if it meant it would be in vain. _______________________________ “We look for each other, and that’s what matters.” ::OOC Stats::Now Listening To: ”Toes“ by LightsIC Attire: Greener on this Side!Chatty Ditz: -----
