[If you're fine with meh.]
New Life. Void held a strange look in his eyes as he gazed around the area. Not in hate really... But it wasn't exactly full of like either. But, the more pressing matter; just how the hell he got here. The last thing he could remember was... The swordsman paused. To be honest, there wasn't a last thing he could remember actually. He frowned, his crimson eyes still roaming the area. "Honestly hope this isn't some zombie plot.."

Upon a bench navi sat flipping pages to a black book. Staring at its brightly colored pages through black rimmed glasses, he scanned brief passages of text, only to flip several pages when large blotches of ink covered sections of the page which would hide the book's content. Slowly but surely the ink splotches would dry up and form into words, sentences and paragraphs, and Ekrixis's orange eyes read every one of them.

The swordsman looked at the unknown Navi browsing their book. The Navi of blades stopped, curiosity getting the better of him. It was unusual to see any sort of Navi doing what the one on the bench was. Reading? It was uncommon. Atleast from what Void had seen. While he usually left people to their own devices, something about this situation just... irked at him. In a way he couldn't really explain. There was a uncomfortable feeling for the shadow user, and before the words could be stopped they had already left his mouth. "Interesting book?"
He gave a small inward wince. That... really was not his style. But it wasn't as if the words could be taken back now, right?

His right hand touched the corner of a page, almost ready to turn it and go on until he heard someone speak to him and inquire about the book. His left hand moved over to his right and he closed the book as he looked up through his glasses at whomever was talking to him
No... Not really, its mainly just gibberish.
He was uneasy talking to someone he wasn't familiar with, and he was a little guarded when people came up to him. Just how he was.

While originally Void would be content to leave it at that, such an answer really did not make any sense to him at all. Gibberish? A frowned touched his face. "...Then what's the point of reading it?" Generally people read for information, or fun did they not? How could either be derived from reading such a thing then? The swordsman was thoroughly confused, having no clue how to take such a statement.
"I can understand fighting for no reason, but reading something you don't understand doesn't really make sense..."

There isn't really a point in fighting anyway...
Odd thing to say from a navi like this.
When he was about to add on to his statement, the book in his hands just fell apart, the pages, cover and spine of the book flew every where scattering to the ground. And as quickly as that happened, the parts of the book began to disassemble itself into light grey ashes that soon flew away into the air from the mounds they formed upon the ground. This caused a look of disappointment to stick to the navi's face, but not for long, but back to a neutral expression as he stated:
It does that, and each time it does the pages change, and some of them make sense.

Void merely gave a hum. One was always entitled to their opinion afterall. Though, his confusion grew upon seeing the book scatter apart, and then the words which the other Navi spoke. It still... seemed rather confusing. "...I still can't see its use." He admits truthfully, drawing one of his swords.
"Atleast with fighting, there's a sense of obviousness that comes from fighting someone else." A flick of his wrist, and a slash skewers the ground nearby the 'scholar'.
"Shall I try to show you that?"

The space between Ekrixis and Void wasn't much, but it was completely okay for this navi. He looked up at Void, his left hand adjusting his glasses with the bridge between each lens. He briefly looked at the sword the other had drawn and then back to Void as his right hand hand help up his glasses.
I'm not sure if you could show me much of anything since you can't even see the weapon I have.
Ekrixis did in fact have a weapon, but it wasn't visible to Void, and as far as Ekrixis knew, he couldn't see it either.

"Would it matter if I could?" responds the Navi idly. The swordsman didn't see the relevance, in all honesty. Whether he could see it or not, he didn't find that he cared. Maybe it gave the other Navi an edge. Perhaps it didn't. But really...
"Either way, if this is how you're gonna take it, then I don't see much point in even trying see if there's something you actually do have." Well the other Navi might have skill, there wasn't going to be much getting done if he didn't want to do anything with it.

Ekrixis sighed. It was a short sigh, but it was also a trigger to something. Something unseen. He shook his head and as if there was a grenade tossed in front of the two, the air between them exploded sending intense heat, light and sound outward from the point of detonation, the air between them. He wouldn't be able to see what happened to Void after the explosion he caused with just a glance, but he knew he wasn't affected by his own explosion, at least not how Void would be, as he had directed the detonation of well...air to go forward and outward in his direction.
I don't think you can actually see what I do have.
A second detonation occurred when he stood up from the bench, this time further away from him where he guessed he may have knocked Void to. In height, Ekrixis was shorter than most navis, somewhere around barely five feet, but he had a power that could rival most ballistic arsenals.
(That NapalmMan is called the Armored Destroyer. Maybe I should get a title.)

Void raised an eyebrow at the inaction, before the explosion occurred, rocketing him backwards. Rolling to the side, he had some fortune as wherever the second explosion had been aimed had been off course. He came away from that with singes around his body. At his back, the faint image of a blade was visible. Well, that had been relatively interesting. The Navi lets loose a wave of shadows to ride forward towards his target as he charges forward. Concussive force. Perhaps just air? Either way, it was probably going to be a bit dangerous. Covering the distance between the two with his natural speed, the swordsman found himself not really caring either way. If that was how this one was going to play it, that was fine by him, he decided, as he closed in with a series of sword strikes.

Seeing as Void intended on closing in riding the mass of shadows he created, Ekrixis decided he'd increase the distance between them by creating two large explosions, one between the two to keep Void's sword away from himself, and possibly Void by timing the detonation on his first attempted strike. The second explosion sent Ekrixis backward and over the bench he had sat upon. While still midair and flying backward as he started to lose his momentum, he looked at the ground between himself and Void and then he let out his explosive ability again hundreds of times.
But this time there would be no explosions, no detonations, but detonators which detonated upon pressure. He created a mine field. Even Ekrixis himself didn't know where his own mines were, but he'd never admit to that, or let anyone know the mines existed in the first place.
He skidded upon the ground leaving a trail of unsettled ground before his explosion's force ran out and he came to a grinding halt.
(Who brings a sword to a bomb fight?)

The force of the explosion had wrenched his strike away from the intended target, the swordsman still standing his ground with a frown on his face. His other sword had been stabbed into the ground to keep him grounded, even as the arm that had swung at the opponent went through a few moments of numbness due to the rather unorthodox defense. ...Troublesome. The swordsman settled on that thought, given his focus of close range combat. But it wasn't as though he was without his options. Shadows pooled underneath Ekrixis' position, before rising upwards in a surging attempt to swallow the Navi in its darkness.
Void then slashed the air before him, sending two slices of energy to continue the assault and tear into the Navi. A few moments pause, and the Navi of shadows began to move again, still attempting to close the distance. While caution may have been advisable, against this kind of opponent, who had free range, there was really little other choice.

Ekrixis held his arms out as if he was tossing a large ball into the air. As he made the throwing motion, binary flooded into the space where the ball should be, forming the wire-frames for the ball. It became clear it was actually a comical styled bomb with a large letter "F" upon it when the wire-frames were filled in with color and substance. As the shadows around him drenched the area in darkness around him the "bomb" exploded, not sending intense heat, but deafening sound and blinding light in all directions. The sound was so loud that the only thing that could be heard was pure golden silence...that was until the shock wave from the bomb rushed outward and stuck every surface within range, only to reflect back to their source and cause another explosion, this time of pure sound, this one, truly deafening.
This over-sized flash-bang explosive did have its repercussions. Ekrixis couldn't see, and couldn't avoid the energy waves that surged toward him. Strangely enough though, upon hitting the small navi, each slice bounced off his body and began to rebound like a wave in different directions, getting smaller and smaller with each deflection.
