Those words hang in the air as he turns the next corner, ascends the next flight of stairs, and so on and so forth until they crest the shanty infested barricade - for that's all it was. He searches the storm-wracked horizon without truly searching, feels the remote thunder as it comes to shore. The darkened waves aren't audible over the muted city, from this distance, but make a grand try as they crash against the ruins of the massive park below. The melancholy permeates almost as deeply as the salted air. "This is all there's to witness out here, anymore," he says, but his fingers grip the shabby merlons tighter than they need to.

She had to disagree, there was a lot here.
With every pass around a corner, every step, her eyes took in intricate detail. Small grains of dust were collected on her fingers with every pass and her pumps made such rhythmic steps as she continued up the stairs. Her hands and eyes kept moving with her swaying hips as she kept the posture of a lady but retained the eyes of a vigilant hawk and hands that crept along the shape of the battlements of the merlons. Her long white hair could pick up traces of a traveling wave from the far-off waters that were out of the reach of her eyesight.
“Hmm, do not underestimate the value of that which you speak,” she said with such thrill, “All my days as a trade woman, I have heard stories of this fallen place, but I had not the time nor the vigor to personally tour it for my own interest. To witness the sight of this land, and to revision what I have heard with what I see now…why, I think it holds some value.”

He grunts a response. His meaning had been missed, but that was all the conversation he could muster. The value was doubtless to any but a fool... a foothold from another dimension, and potentially a doorway? Value spoke nothing of what was happening. He finishes his coffee at last and sets it back down; continues to watch his nothings in silence.

“Eh heh…” her small little laugh showing her dimness once again, “…then again, I have not always been the sharpest when it comes to something of worth myself.”
It was true, Yami was not one to know when she found gold. She overlooked things and often more than not, she was not understanding the value of a life for that matter. She chalked it all up to her trying to learn Donna’s way of seeing the world around her. Where she was an organized crime woman who ran her family like a respectful Mafioso, Yami was nothing but a weapon and a right hand on another existent plain. The net was her part of the terrain that her extended family controlled. “So, explain it to me, truly,” she requested as if beckoning for a Zenny piece, “Why is this place of value to you? All I know at times is the aftermath of destruction…and trust me, I know it well.”
Her eyes burned with an intensity, a feeling from a previous life, wondering if it was anything like this one.

And still he merely stares, only acting to moves his cup and lean on the battlements. Memories play in his mind, but he betrays no piece of them. He keeps his mouth shut in the hopes of keeping the worst of them at bay.

“…Hmm, say no more.” Yami simply turning a cheek as she leaned her body across one of the battlements, letting her eyes going to the distant sight of what was used to be CreamLand to her knowledge. “A tradeswoman knows when the things she want hold some sentimental value to someone else. Though, I cannot lie to myself…” her nostrils took in the air about the atmosphere, and her tongue perversely peeked from her mouth to steal a sample of the air. There was something left to be found in this place, and the way her fingers danced across the battlements as if she could just grasp it, she voiced her feeling, “…It’s tempting to know it’s there.”

He grunts again and stands fully, giving one last longing look at the ocean. For a moment it almost looks blue again. He picks up his cup. "I hope you find what you seek. More, I hope you know what to do with it when it's in your hands. Not all do." With that, he turns from his companion and makes his way back toward the stairwell down. "Goodbye," he says, and descends.

Yami only watched as the mysterious NetNavi vanished from her sight. She got not even a name out of him. That was a horrible blow for a business woman. However, she could not help but to ponder on his words: what she would do when she found what she sought. It was a mystery even to her, because out of all individuals, Yami was probably best not to be one to get her hands on anything that could be deemed “valuable.” For the Belogun family, all that was possessed was for the glory of the lineage and it would only be used to stretch her bounty.
“I really hope so too,” she almost said with a hint of sadness, “If I do, you will be one of many to know.” a smile stretched going cheek to cheek. Yami descended the stairs shortly after sitting and looking over the land once more, and turned her back to the remnants of carnage wondering if her future would somehow be like this one. She left that inquiry and proceeded to go find out more on her current business venture: The Exordium Game.

Ruin stood atop the wall as he awaited others to arrive. They would likely soon need to meet here and there was little he wanted to do. Looking over the city from his perch, he looked out to the coast, a small group of navis seemed to have gathered. The distance was rather large, but Ruin could feel the darkchips he had given to one from this distance. He only assumed the others grew interested as well. He decided this time to not intervene, to simply observe the fight from far off. Relaying a message to the soldiers not to interfere with these ones, they were guests, no matter how they quarreled. Walking the length of the wall, Ruin moved in closer to observe the battle from a better seat. It would be an interesting way to pass the time at the very least.
