Opera looked on at what had happened, and thought.
Opera: Wait a minute, I'm pretty sure that isn't the real Xion. He said that he wasn't visiting in person, after all. Also, I heard their former leader say that Creamland cannot be cleansed. You might want to check your backups for corruption and/or Forte. Just a tip.

Jinko: Samhain obviously didn't do his homework. Creamland has emergency backup data. What they plan to do is delete the whole area, and then restore it with the backup data. This data is in the so called "real world". Personally, this all seems real enough to me. The backups are in locations that are completely cut off from the net. And only the leader of said nation can run it. It's like a clean copy.

Opera almost facepalms at Jinko's naivete.
Opera: Seriously? I'm a former sysadmin. I'd be more likely to know that information then you are. Remember, Samhain came through a portal of darkness from another universe. We can't assume that he couldn't mess with the backups just because they aren't connected to the net. And in any case, it's been five hundred years since a dishwasher could be connected to the internet without anyone batting an eye. The idea that something could be inaccessible via the Net is by now patently absurd.

Jinko: The point is, The only way to corrupt the data is to (A) have someone hack it, or (B) destroy it.

Opera: And my point is, a dimension-hopping conqueror could easily do either of those things. Is there some sort of language barrier or something that's preventing you from understanding what anyone else says?

Finale walked in with his hands raise, accepting his loss without a word.

Jinko had lost interest in arguing with Opera and had turned his attention back to Knightman.
Jinko: Again, please excuse my actions earlier. It was probably not the best first impression. I was just venting my rage at the idea of some "otherworldly being" taking over a part of the net that belongs to navi-kind. I will go quietly to a cell if that option remains available, and would happily register if at all possible.

Opera suddenly perks up, apparently aware of some change in the universe, and her viral friend in particular.
Opera: Okay Hearth, you can come out now.
Nothing happens.
Opera: Come on, you're actually powerful enough to matter now.
Opera is hit in the face with a fireball.
Opera: Okay, are you done now?
Hearth appears, looking mildly surprised.
Opera: Hey, I don't have pain receptors unless I feel like it, and I can regenerate regardless.
And so it goes.

Jinko: Gutts, let's go.
A swordy appears, next to Jinko.

*KnightMan shakes his head and motions for his men to come forward. In an instant, both Navis are put into chains and bound by the same power-negate effect that had been placed on Xion and Embera*
KnightMan: You shall both be tried under Creamland law. However, the time has come for all who remain.
*With those words, KnightMain raises his flail to the sky, giving the signal to the server. In the blink of an eye, the entire area flashes white and shuts down, trapping every Navi in as the rollback begins*

[bgcolor=black]1 second past the shutdown. Where there was once network, now only darkness lies.
3 seconds past. As the reboot commences, networks all across Creamland go black, separated devices cease functioning (and in necessary cases, slow to a halt), communications cut out, endless experiments are ground to stop at great expense to the nation, videofeeds of national news are locked from broadcasting their doomsaying the world over, airtraffic control switches to remote systems... silence pervades the air over the island nation but for a single helicopter's barely audible thrumming as it makes its landing outside the wall. People patiently stare into their devices wondering, "How soon will it come back?" Internet boards begin flooding with complaints of potential delay, lag, schedule interruption, and threats of boycott - everybody operates on their own time.
5 seconds past. Elsewhere, in a server room far underground, a group of men overlook massive geothermal and hydro generators, while another group of men lays unconscious upon the floor. The generators, by this time, have been working at full capacity for exactly 30 seconds after finishing their 30 minute warm-up period. The networkless intercom continues chiming desperately as it had been since the last check up 15 minutes ago. The Tempest guards continue to receive no response from their generator room.
Did you know? The energy required to hold the entirety of a backup ready and set for a switch-out with the nigh infinite space of another network far exceeds that of normal generators, and so each country long ago created an easy-maintenance version of this room - just in case.
It's clear that these men are here for energy... but for what purpose?
9 seconds. Far away, as observant eyes adjust, there are lights. Distant networks, once connected to this void, now hanging in midair. The illusion of reality has been dashed away as though you had entered the core of the network itself. Navis gather in hordes by the bridges to the Creamland network, hoping to catch a glimpse of something in the void.
Rumors speak of a place beyond the bounds of the known net: the place where no navi can travel. What this place is is only speculated, but Duo is cited as proof that other networks exist, and that given apt proximity one might bridge the gap through... through what? Waves in the physical world? Research on Waves turned to other, more practical applications long ago.
Those that stared into the void did not gaze upward nor think to focus in that direction. If they had, one might have noticed an object, about navi-sized, floating high above the border.
13 seconds. A man in the generator room smiles, leans on the railing. He flicks a cigarette into the waters below. Another punches him in the shoulder and gestures toward the door. Somebody's banging.
The helicopter touches down, and the men inside are arguing loudly over the quiet "Whup whup whup" of the chopper blades. The door opens, an empty cup rolls out onto the helipad. Several well-dressed Tempest-men hurry to the side and stand at attention.
An angry navi waiting at the edge of the network idly kicks a stone into the intangible barrier cutting the space off. Against all logic, it passes through and falls...
Sixteen seconds of downtime. 41 seconds and 473 milliseconds past the initiation of the generators:
SYSTEM RESTORED The server turns back on. Nothing has changed that was already there... not visibly. Nothing at all. All navis stand exactly as they were, all viruses, programs, auxiliary functions, and data bits are exactly as they were when the network went down. The colony and the surrounding area felt even more charged with energy, but... it could have just been the reboot. - "-all who remain." The words echo again, repeated 16 seconds later as though the victim of some communications lag. Finale, Opera, Jinko, Embera, KnightMan, RSJoe, the Xion-shade and the army all stand exactly as they were all those seconds before. Inside the walls, nothing about the situation has changed... but is that something floating down from the sky? Was it there before? -

*With the system restore entirely completed, KnightMan's data slowly begins to return to optimal performance. Function after function is restored in a matter of a split second, leaving his vision the last... yet... somehow.... it was all wrong. Standing in absolute silence for several moments, KnightMan looks around in astonishment. The scene, beyond nightmarish in nature, was somehow impossible in the face of all that had just happened. The backup succeeded, meaning Creamland should have been normal... yet... somehow....
Quickly glancing around in disbelief, KnightMan takes several silent steps back as he and the entire Green Tempest batalion that accompanied him look on in absolute shock. What had gone wrong? What could have possibly happened? Trying to gather himself, KnightMan breaks the absolute silence that penetrates the very nature of the scene and looks to the sky*
KnightMan: I want a report, now! What caused the backup to fail!
*A split second later, a window opens up before KnightMan.... the giant Navi's glowing yellow eyes growing in astonishment at what he reads*
<System Restore: Fully Successful. All Data Restored To Selected Date>
*There was no way.... if the restore worked, then how is it that nothing changed? How could it possibly be? What nightmare could be behind this.... Nothing was said... nothing could be said. Something was vastly wrong with this scene.... but KnightMan was so paralyzed with shock that no response could be given*

"Well... isn't this a surprise? Makes sense why he wasn't worried now."
*It was fun having done this, if only because he managed to see the knight so confused. He could say this was a learning experience too, having been there through the reboot and all. But still, he was less than eager for the first time about something. He was curious instead, about that echo that came out for but an incredibly brief moment. What was it exactly? The scene that many called a nightmare still was there, so he took to giving his attention to another location, looking up... to see something else instead. He couldn't say for sure if that was there before or not. He was too focused on other things, among them being the welcome that the troops had given it. Still... he couldn't give a response for it, waiting for the time being to see if the feeling of dread welling up was more than him just being leery.*

[glow=white,2,500]*Embera was sitting cross-legged inside her cell, half meditating, half dozing before she heard KnightMan holler. Being alerted, she snapped back to awareness, wondering what was going on. Staring up at the sky through her cell, she noticed a large....something....descending upon them, casting a shadow down below. Her mouth was nearly agape as she looked on dumbstruck at what could've been coming into a locked server. Obviously this wasn't according to KnightMan's plans, and she was a tad uneasy of what could come from this.*
Embera: Well....this...this is not good...KnightMan! What's happening?![/glow]

Jinko hesitated for a moment before noticing a shadow on the ground. He looked up, only to see something that he had never seen before.
Jinko: Okay, trying not to freak out here, but I have one question. WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!
He points with his arms, chained together as they are, at the large object that seems to be descending upon them.
