Slypner His seemingly aimless wanderings bring him to the outskirts of the freshly destroyed remnants of Electopia's most recent battle, and final resting place of their bastion of hope and order. With the explosion of New Life the remains of the reaverbot army and would be defenders dispersed. In addition, the lockout of regenerating deletions means that pieces of navi, building, and reaverbot pepper the ground in droves to make the entire scene like something out of a storybook.
The frills of his scarf sway with the passing breeze. The melancholic scientist surveys the area from atop a flattened pile. His pen strokes mechanically transcribing the landscape to his notebook.

Mary sat up by the water. It appeared she had fallen out of it watching the conclusion of her once beloved city. She began to get up, but winced in pain as her right arm continued to struggle. She reached standing through rolling to the left into a forward roll. She held her right arm as she walked forward.
Noticing a new presence ahead, she calls to him as she hobbled.
"..."
She got a little closer.
"..."
A little closer.
"..d.. Don't you ignore me you scarf wearing waste of data! *wince* State your name!"

Slypner The wind dies down after the womans howl. The artist continues his sketch without acknowledging her. His silver eyes darting from the aftermath to his pad and back.
...
...
After an awkward amount of time he finally responds to the ragged woman with raspy voice and flat-line tone. Yet only with this respect as he focuses on his art. Hostility begets hostility. Think before you speak, wounded one.

Thud "Shiver me timbers, I ain't seen this much devastation in a while! Puts Davy Jone's locker to shame. This is terrible, the whole thing is on fire!"
The sound of a bag falling to the ground could be heard not too away from the two navis. A very, VERY concerned Sharkman was gazing at the destroyed city with wide eyes and open maw. The good hearted shark was in total shock. He knew these were rumblin' times, he had seen his fair share of conflicts, but a city like Element getting razed that easily was unprecedented especially with New Life hovering over it all the time.

"Your words and actions convey two different stories, scarf."
She stepped harmlessly closer, but also more towards the right, so that she could see over Slypner's shoulder.
"... Are you drawing?"

Slypner Yes. Gazing over his should Mary sees the roughly 95% of the battlefield replicated to near perfect on Slypners sketchpad. From the gruesome display of torn-in-half navis to the mechanical glares of the reaverbots. It's all there in extravagant detail.
A minute passes as Mary watches Slypners perfect pen strokes sketch, finalize and shade the rest of the piece. Afterwards he flips the pad closed, and sheathes it beneath his robes. He shoots her one glance and stands up. Then begins sauntering into the would-be graveyard while surveying the area.

Slypner One. Slypner comments, making note that Mary hasn't actually moved. He continues walking to, through, and over wreckage that is minutes walking apart. Slowly separating himself from the shark and wounded warrior unless they kept pace. His goal not immediately clear upon departure but to those following would be made obvious in time.
He continues to scan the area for what he knows is not there. The reaverbots had been bested or already retreated by now. While nothing could seemingly directly impede his path Slypner does get close to several visceral displays of their mechanical savagery. Strolling past scenes of navi mutilation, faces in cofused horror as they're unable to disperse into the traditional particles of being sent to the recycle bin.
There, in the palm of one such navi, is a small glint of something crystalline. His interest piqued Slypner diverts course slightly and attempts to investigate.

Mary had hesitated, surprised from the shark's appearance. She finally snapped back as Slyp started gaining ground, walking just enough to where she wouldn't trip on herself while keeping a good distance behind the scarf wearer and ignoring the shark.
When she looked around, she was more so disappointed than sad. She had actually put effort into caring about something. Shame.
Slyp began to head off the beam line he'd been traveling, and Mary stopped to see what caused his discrepancy. Unlike Slyp, she only noticed after the fact.
"What is driving you? Or is that too blunt of a question for you?"

Sharkman stared as the two completely ignored him and went on in the burning city. Oh well...he tried.

*It looked like a proper battle had taken place here. The fire and broken parts all still remained. Hard to believe who actually caused these flames though. He wasn't aware that they could reach such a broad scope, but it showed how much things had changed from then to now. Who knew how many other surprises he would have in store for them. So he aimed to go for the high ground first, jumping up and landing on one of the ruined but still somewhat elevated buildings for a better look around. A sign that failures had consequences now, so the city being in shambles like this meant it wasn't going to get better anytime soon. He took a moment to take in the sight instead of brushing it off like he would any other time a place was blown up in their world. To etch into his mind this view. He wouldn't shirk from how he performed or solved problems because that would be what they wanted. Approaching this in halves would just make him one of these ruined corpses sooner rather than later. So he would perform the same as he always had. And just like he always did, he would live up to why he was feared rather than revered. So he climbed back down in the appropriate fashion of jumping back off, his scan letting him notice a few others in the area now too. He wasn't going to bother looking for survivors personally, but if they were around they were either interested in searching the area or how to get out. If it was the former, it was simpler to work with them than not. Plus ignoring your problems didn't invalidate them, given doing so some time ago left them with next to no knowledge on the Reaverbots now.*

Slypner Slypners answer to Mary comes without words, but with substance. He bends a knee and pries a small mystery data out of the fingers from a navi mostly crushed beneath rubble. He rights himself, turns, and holds it up to show the inquirer before pocketing it beneath his azure robe.
The silver-eyed navi's gaze shifts beyond Mary to another as he approaches. This one donning a red robe and gazing at the destruction while he walked with what Slypner felt as... determination? Hmm. he thinks.
The cause of this has opened a door. There is much to gain here. He slides his eyes back up at Mary then returns to his normal course. Yet its unclear as of this moment just where that destination is.

Rook was apparently the last one to arrive. However, after taking a headcount, he was slightly disappointed. He had hoped that more Navis than this would make it out of Element City. Though, he at least saw someone he vaguely recognized. Walking over to Mary, Rook reintroduced himself.
"Hi, I'm Rook. I'm the guy who promised to help you and your friends before the crazy guy tried to doomsplode everything. Anyhow, just thought I'd see what assistance I could provide in this area of the net."
Rook was slightly shaken by the earlier events, but he had made a promise, and he fully intended to keep it. Plus, he had nothing better to do, and nowhere to go.

Mary pondered for a moment, and did in fact remember Rook. It already felt so long since she was in that mess.
"Listen, Rook. I'm done playing hero, and you should be as well."
Mary once again moved to follow Slypner, intrigued by his motives rather than the possible loot to be scavenged from corpses.
"A door.. one besides the large scale war that could unfold?"

"Playing.....is that what you think I'm doing? Well, I suppose I should make myself clear, then. I'm not on this path because of a whim, or because someone told me to. Hell, I might not even be much of a hero, but it's better than doing nothing, and besides, it's the only way I know how to act. So, before you go telling me to stop playing the hero, ask yourself this one thing. Have you truly done everything that you could to help others? Because if not, then don't tell me what I should be doing." Saying so, Rook disappeared into the flames. It was quite a stretch, but he was looking for survivors from Element City. If he could save just one life, then maybe he could begin to enjoy things again.
