Asymptote came down from the heavens in a simple beam of light, the navi materializing in a deep part of the ACDC networks. The same area he had jacked into not too long ago. It had been a few days, but even in that short time he had begun to grow. He wasn't afraid to be seen out in the open outside of the Colosseum like he had been. And he had certainly been growing stronger, watching other navis fight, fighting himself...and opening his mind to the ideas of starting his way onto becoming a darkloid that people could look up to and see...not a monster...but someone who is willing to put their life on the line. Willing to fight for what was right in this world of mucked up humans and navis.
Lumbering forwards, he began towards the poisonous swamp where his friend had been the first time. Asymptote wasn't afraid to walk into it like he was the first time. Thorn could have quite easily deleted him last time...but beneath that exterior, much like his own, lay a good nature and a good heart. Thorn? Ya around? I heard you were looking for me.

The lake stood flat and smooth until Asymtote sinked his feet in. This time however, it was welcoming towards the navi. It began bubbling all over as purple goop sloshed around. It would slowly rise into a pillar, before curling around the navi and taking on a very distinctive shape. The Poison Dragon chuckled happily.
"Helloooo there handsome~" he teased as it was usual for Thorn to do. "You came back! Nice to see you've gotten stronger too! How are you?"

Asymptote was quite welcoming to the poison as it curled and coiled about his body, finding it...welcoming all things considered. Then thorn made his appearance out of the poisonous muck that he was practically made out of.
Hey thorn. Nice to see you again. Asymptote said simply, patting the dragon on the back. I was hearing that you wanted to see me again, so I came. What ya need, friend?

"Well, I can't just let you be after I promised I would help you become a Darkloid." He told his friend grinning. Instinctively, the dragon'ts tail began a slow wag as he was pet by the bulky navi. "So I thought I would review your progress as well as give ya something that will help you for your next step in the rabbit hole. So, before we do anything, let's start with the goodies. Congratulation on updating your firmware to Version 3. I myself hopped forward 2 more versions, but your progress still looks promising. Why don't we sit down and get comfy?"

Asymptote nodded at Thorn, he did offer to help. And he wasn't about to look a gift dragon in the mouth. He wasn't about to refuse help if he wanted to get to where he wanted. Even if he stuck to his current form. He wouldn't allow himself to let those who wronged him specially that fat bastard principal who started this in the first place. But that was still a bit far off for himself to start going after him. And it seemed things had been starting to look upwards for him, if just a little. With that, the navi began to sit down in the muck that had welcomed him, cross legged.
Things seem to be going up for me. I was given a chance to join a group in the battler to get a little headstart. Also had this battle with a navi named Krystania, helped me to...clear a little bit of air around the whole "all darkloids are evil" thing. Asymptote began, popping his neck. She certainly hit like a truck when she hit though. Though I think we did make some headway towards mutual respect towards each other.

Thorn happioy settled down in Asymptote's lap. "Alright. What defineus Darkloids is our DarkSoul. But what generates that? DarkChips." He explained matter of factly.
"DarkChips have a lot of different applications, but I feel like you have not yet reached a point where you can safely harness their powers without them destroying you. As such, I have gathered something that will help you with this task."
The poison dragon literally reached with his claw inside his chest and then pulled out three BattleChips. He showed them to his friend in front of him.
"These are the second strongest thing. MegaChips. You can only use a few per battle, but their effects can be devastating as any DarkChip or even stronger."
He handed them to him.
CHIP GET! Poison Claw C-Range Toxic Special Emulation- Thorn Cuts Aura, Undodgeable, Inflicts Poison on each hit. Avoid separately. Hits 3 times (150+15V) Two Turn Charge
CHIP GET! Soul Shatter S-Range Elec Special Emulation- Nightshade. If avoided, autostrikes next turn at 50% damage and full effects. Regardless of success, [navi's name] gains 50 damage to all attacks for 1 turn. Cuts Darksoul. (150+15*Version) Two turns required charge.
CHIP GET! Finisher C-Seeking Special Emulation- K907 Avoid Separately, Cuts Undershirt. Hits two times. (150+15V) One turn charge.

Asymptote nodded at Thorn, the navi knew how Dark Soul worked, at least on a basic level...his own "shadow" of sorts told him as much, or at least...the knowledge of the dark soul did so anyways. He would also nod as Thorn told him as much as he knew. He was probably not ready for the Dark Chips, or at least, using them enmasse like he did before becoming what he was now. But the gift surprised him, three chips of varying capacity in turn to him, and they seemed...different from the mega chips he had been getting. Asymptote gently took the data from Thorn and downloaded them to Joseph for safekeeping.
Thank you Thorn. I appreciate the help. Asymptote would say simply, the navi nodding at him. Hey, Asymptote, why not give him one too? These are Emulations, copies of attacks by other navis. You should be able to make one yourself. Joseph would sound out. Asymptote practically sprung up at the idea. Closing his eyes and holding out the palm of his hand, Asymptote began to form chip data from his core for the navi, soon enough, fragmented data from around the area came together to create a blue colored chip for Thorn. Here. It wouldn't be right if I didn't give you something in turn for your gracious gift. Asymptote said, nodding at Thorn.
Chip Data created!
Darkness Incarnate C-Range, Dark Special Emulation: Asymptote.exe Undodgable, Cuts Auras, Regardless: Sacrifice 10% HP from user (rounded to nearest 5), On Hit: Enemy takes damage equal to Sacrificed HP, Cannot be used if HP is under 100 150(+15xVersion base damage), 2 Required Charges

The smaller darkloid gently accepted his friend's gift before wiggling himself back in a comfy position with his back pressed on Asymptote's belly and his head under his chin.
Tightening his tail around the bulky navi's waist Thorn relaxed.
"Say...once you find the guys that cause you problems...would you...rather return to a normal navi or...well...maybe be a dragon like me?"

Asymptote closed his eyes as he was curled up against even more so, the navi resting his head on his shoulder, the two navis belly to belly as the important question was asked. I...am not sure, honestly. Every day I seem to get better at moving in this body...and, weather it was planted in me or had been simply stewing in my heart...this Dark Soul...it speaks to me...it tells me things in hushed whispers in the back of my head. I find it could be a good tool if people were more open to the idea of the Dark Soul being a natural part of a navi, commercial or custom. Asymptote would start. Sighing out as he pat his friend on his back softly. Joseph's face appearing on a screen next to the two.
I was surprised at what happened in the Colosseum the other day. It was certainly...a shock to see Asymptote channel his Dark Soul like he did. From what I saw on studies, most navis go into a berserker rage. They cause much damage as they attack. Though since Asymptote was version one when the exhibition match happened, he...seemed to be in control. Joseph added. a GIF of Asymptote standing in the Colosseum as he manifested, standing there and offering his opponent the first shot in the battle.
Asymptote sighed as he opened his eyes. We are more alike to humans than most think to give navis credit for. The Yin and Yang all humans have, light and darkness, are but two sides to the same coin. They manifest as both Hyper Modes and Dark Soul respectively to navis. Thing is...one is not inherently more right or wrong to use than the other. The thing is, Dark Chips corrupt. They are akin to real world drugs that humans use. Crack. Cocaine. The list goes on. If one could manage to...extract...the harmful effects of the dark chips, maybe weaken them...perhaps then, the dark soul wouldn't necessarily be painted as "wrong" or the navis who use them as "evil". I still need to explore far more further. Perhaps take a "taste of darkness" as I grow stronger. Use a dark chip or two once in a great while and see how the effects pile on as time goes on. But I know I am weak. I know I'd only get in the way of anyone wishing to truly help the net. The world at large. All I can do is do my part. Explore the possibilities as you have. And hope a solution is somewhere in the cards.

Thorn silently listened to what Asymtote had to say, barring thelow pitched purring sound as he was pet. "Well...I'm not really that evil, am I?" he mumbled. Looking up, the little dragon spoke again.
"I...I know of someone who can help you trace back the guys that did this to you." He admitted. "I...should have told you earlier, but I feel like you aren't ready to...not yet at least. But if we find them and make them turn you back to normal...There would be no problem in customizing you into the same body size..."

Asymptote shook his head as he rubbed up and down Thorn's back slowly, hand practically covering the dragonic navi's body. Not that I can tell. We all have our pasts, you wound up better than I did, all things considered. Asymptote sighed to reassure his friend, giving him a soft pat.
You've done more than enough, Thorn. I'm going to go looking on my own for a little bit when we part ways again. The principal who set all of this into motion is my first target. But I'm still not strong enough to go in guns blazing...just yet. I'm biding my time. I'm waiting for when I'm perfectly ready for everything that will start when I begin. All I can do at the moment...is grow in strength. And if other navis are being forcibly transformed like I was...then I need to know. And maybe if I find more victims...I can start getting answers.

Thorn looked up with a worried look on his face. "Are you sure you don't want my help?" He sighed. "Fine. I guess this is a thing you must do on your own. For now let's just focus on turning you into a Darkloid that knows how to control his powers. You said you were able to manifest your DarkSoul at will right?"

Asymptote nodded at his friend. I have no idea what I'm up against so far, so I need to do this on my own. If I get into trouble, I know who to ask.
No, I didn't manifest it on my own, I took a lot of damage from her attacks, that much is for sure. But as I was on the precipice of death, of losing the fight, it began to...coagulate the blood and the wounds that I had taken during the fight. It manifested. It...wanted me to wreak havoc against the audience that had been looking on us. I had to suppress it a bit, but I managed to keep control. At the cost of some power. But it kept whispering to me in the back of my head. I had to keep fighting back against it, otherwise...I felt like I would have lost control. Granted, I was only version one when this fight took place.

Thorn gently raised his tail up and booped Asymtote's forehead. "What did I tell you about a DarkSoul?" He told him with a grin on his muzzle. For good measure, tendrils slowly sithered up from the poison lake and latched onto Asymptote's body. Thorn hiself wiggled himself close and comfy in his friend's lap.

*Listening from an alleyway, drawn to the darkloids, a shifty figure did his best to keep to the shadows and simply recon potential customers. His stealth would be broken, however, as his decaying and reforming body began hacking and coughing in a spasm. Seeing that anyone within a block probably heard him, it was time to make himself known.*
?: You know, you limit the power output of the DarkSoul by not giving into it...
*The man shuffled up to the duo, a sickening green liquid dripping from his mouth, eating away at the ground at his feet. He was cloaked in a brilliant white hood, as if a priest or a monk on pilgrimage, hood up so as to keep all but his face hidden. Around his eyes and mouth, small hairline fractures could be seen, pulsing dim lights the same color as the caustic liquid that chewed up the ground. Despite his sickly appearance, a feeling of calmness and peace emanated from the man, who otherwise relied on a simple cane to keep himself from crumpling under his own weight at times.*
?: A DarkSoul is bestial malice incarnate. The most pure id demanding blood, and power, and suffering to be sated. Darkchips can be seen as a drug, with the power that they provide, yes. But do not misattribute their nature. They give their power at the cost of your own identity. And fighting that will only crush your body down. One way or another, you will come to rely on them. That is not inherently bad, but to misunderstand the malice, and hate in them, is misunderstanding power itself. Darkchips are perfect for enhancing one's self, to the point of willingly sacrificing all that keeps them from their desire. To deny the DarkPower its right to your Soul, the consequences are rather dire for a navi.
*The man spoke matter-of-factly, coughing through it every now and again. He kept his tranquil demeanor throughout the apparent warning, and even smiled gently to Asymptote, despite the grim warning just issued.*
