Hey everyone, sorry that I have been a bit Mia recently. In my free time, I've been working on this This! Basicly, it's a blog where I sit down, and talk about the games I've been playing recently. So (plug plug plug) I would love it if some of you guys could check it out, and tell me why it sucks!

I like it a lot! No real criticism or compliments, but I like it and will continue to check in.
My two cents on Majora's Mask, though. I played it on the original N64 (haven't gotten the 3DS remake yet) and I started out with a similar opinion as you, where the sidequests felt lacking emotionally. However, the more I played the 3 day cycle and became familiar with the NPCs, their patterns, their lives and how my questing impacted them, both of the main and side variety, I did find myself having an emotional attachment. I was the only person in this world who could see it from this perspective, and I found myself looking forward to pursuing side quests because I was able to learn more about a character I saw going about their life in the face of impending doom. I help them out and get a prize for it, which is nice, but the emotional attachment came from the Day Cycle ending, and my resetting time. For me, I still helped them, but they were oblivious to what had happened and it was a profound sense of loss I experienced. Which I think is prevalent in all aspects of this game.
Basically, my opinion is that the 3 Day format and Side Quest emphasis allows for a deeper immersion, though it takes a risk by requiring the player to consciously dive into it.
