Because 'Love is magic'. You answered your own question. :P
But yeah, that alllmost sounds like a certain visual novel I've played...though I'm sure the Visual Novel I'm talking about pulls it off much better.

I'm going to have to disagree, this might have been one of the best movies I've ever seen. "Love is magic" is at best a simple way of describing a metaphysical concept we just can't accurately understand with our current knowledge. Just because it's outside the realm of what we consider possible or even realistic doesn't mean it's indicative of a bad movie or an unsound theory of love and metaphysics in general. In science fiction especially, the more one dives into the realm of things smarter than us, more advanced than us, etc. The less likely we can accurately predict or imagine things like they would.
Basically, if you think there are metaphysical, universal constants like morality and love, you'll really enjoy this movie.
I realize I'm rambling and probably not making sense but there are legitimate things we don't understand and that science will flat out never be able to explain, things that philosophy and religion try their best to explain. This movie does an excellent job trying to reconcile those differences and as a personal caveat, we really need to get away from "science can't explain it = it's not real"
Sorry to come off as harsh I just go to school for this kind of thinking and it's really important to me.
10/10 film all things considered

Spoilers spoilers spoilers.
I'm with Mirror on loving the movie but disagree on the explanation.
Don't dismiss the movie for "love is magic". The "we made this tesseract through love" concept, pitched by an overly emotional character at the time, is also theorized (hinted at, alluded to at varying points) to be ourselves (humanity, or an evolved idea of ourselves) in the future completing a stable time loop by setting it up... for ourselves. If that seems too far fetched: Think about the cross-time handshake. If the wormhole was placed (framework for the movie) then the tesseract could have been too, by the same beings, for the same purpose.
(Also hello strangers, what planet is this?)

this is the party planet.
I also agree with Tox's reasons (apparently you're Husk now...) as I was referencing them with the "beings smarter than ourselves and because of that we can't think like they think... etc"
a bit messy way of saying things but yeah I am and was all over the place and words are hard
(nice to see you, dude)
