In october of the year 21xx, the skies over the Netopian network turned black. Lightning ripped through the darkness, revealing the form of an ominous looking shadow atop the tallest skyscraper.
???: It appears that the time has come for this world to be judged.
A flash of light and darkness combined engulfed Netopia, and lifted it from where it once was by about half a mile, corrupting the paths between Netopia and other networks. At this point, an annonymous email was sent to all Netbattlers, both city and official.
From: ??? To: All licensed Netbattlers
This world will soon be judged. It's fate is sealed. Try to stop me if you dare. I will be waiting atop the tallest building in Netopia, until 23:59 on October 31'st. Once the clock strikes midnight, this world will be no more.
...End Transmission...
((OOC: signup ends on the 15th, and this story will stay in this thread, unless a mod or admin decides to make it a thing.))
On the 12th, no-one had yet stepped up to face the unknown being. In order to inspire a challenge out of the navis, he opened several portals, bringing forth several dragon-like forms. There was one for each element, from a-z in basic elements.

"'This world will soon be judged. It’s fate is sealed'...sounds like a hung jury waiting to happen.” murmured Ion to himself as he teleported to the familiar confines of the Netopian network. Landing lithely on his feet Ion took immediate note of the stench of miasma suffusing the air. Wrinkling his nose with distaste, the visual changes to the network seemed to have already begun. Corrupt patches along the streets and walking path seemed alive with malicious intent. The malignant tumors on a once beautiful area noted for its cutting edge technologies and notable connections to areas such as the famous Millions Street and the Netopian castle were observed as the ominous blazes of lightning flared around Ion.
Immediately ducking into an alley, Ion scaled the fire escape of the nearest building to gain a better view of the overall network. Noticing the shimmering edges of what had been a portal moments before his arrival, Ion dismissed the fading circle and turned his attention to scouting out the nearby city streets form his rooftop vantage point. Where was the source of such a bold invite? While pondering thoughts of strategy he was blissfully unaware of the dangers that had been ushered from the portal moments ago...

Finale
Finale strolls non-nonchalantly into the city streets. Passing by an alleyway which just happened to contain a dragon, and, unbeknownst to Finale, just above was Ion. Looking at the dragon, Finale has little to offer in the ways of reaction, but simply said "Sup?" caring little about the implications of the dragon or its threat.

As the two navis stood looking at the dragon, the ominous voice from before stated only one thing.
???: "Let it begin."
The dragon they were looking at was the earth dragon. As it met them, the buildings and the ground shook vehemently.
Terra: "I am the earth dragon, Terra. If you wish to stop my master, you must face me."
With no warning other than the above, Terra sent walls of earthen spikes rushing towards each navi. To follow up, he slammed his tail into the building that Ion stood atop.

Hearing the introduction of the first dragon moments before the lethal projectiles erupted from the ground. Creating a small cluster of jutted concrete before finally homing in on Ion, the spires shot forward, scaling the wall with vicious intent Ion could feel the tremble of the building beneath his feet. Leaning over the edge a little further he spotted the dragon and its incoming tail as well. Taking a deep breath Ion leapt from the edge of the building, lethal spires reaching further into the air to try impale Ion midair, he reached out with one hand and caught himself. Like a flag hung out on a airless day, Ion hung from the wicked spikes protruding from the wall before swinging himself towards the scaled hide of the dragon below.
Releasing himself just as the building began to collapse from the tail strike, Ion summoned a net of raw energy to his hand and tossed it ahead of him attempting to ensnare Terra’s head and shoulders in a quick turnaround. Having overextended his vault, Ion fell over the far side of Terra and used the netting to break his fall, transferring all his momentum into the net, jerking it harshly to the left and further entangling any body parts that may have fallen into the dropped trap.
Feeling the cool weight of a trident appearing in his palm, its surface matte with the same texture as the outside of a seashell, it brought the salty tang of ocean spray to the air around it. Wielding it with vigor, Ion was already summoning the second as he sunk the first into the ground securing the net to the earth from which Terra was named. Quickly strafing his way into the street, Ion launched his second trident at the other side of Terra hoping to secure the net from the other side too.
Back pedalling Ion drew diagonally to Finale, with a friendly nod and a conversational tone he said, ”Why is it we only seem to meet at times like these?” Motioning widely to the obvious chaos of the network, Ion eyes took in Finale’s form. Noting the differences since his last encounter so many years ago, Ion was happy that he met him again in spite of the obvious trials ahead. Eyes flicking back to Terra, new trident already in hand.

Finale
Finale shrugged. "Seems like it's just our luck." And Finale lept, over, through, and around the spikes that jutted from all directions. A monstrous shadow arm and hand extended from the place where Finale's arm used to be, and it clawed at Terra as Finale grew near. Flipping onto the terrestrial dragon's back, Finale attempted to ride the beast, growing ever nearer to its neck. "Wann'a ride?" Finale said to Ion, cockily.

In an anticlimactic turn of events, the Dragon just vanished after being netted, leaving Finale a nice hard floor to land on. Seemingly out of nowhere, a fireball shot out from one end of the alleyway towards the duo, while a ball of ice was projected from the other.
"Fools"
Now faced with the prime elementals, how would the two navis react? As the time ticks down, only one thing is certain. Something amazing will happen when the clock reaches zero.
((OOC: Kinda forgot to mention, I'm keeping real time in this thread.))
As neither navi had shown any interest in moving, a clock chimed, signalling the destruction of the net. As the net slowly disintegrated, the two had one chance to sah something to eachother.
