Three Navis watched the events unfold from the cliff of the corridor that the group passed under. Each wearing a matching black-uniform of sorts, sans for the color-specific designs adorning each Navi's uniform. One Navi's uniform had blue patterns -- something about him implied that he was the leader of the group. Another Navi's had red patterns -- he was awfully close to the last Navi of the group, who was a girl, and who's uniform had yellow patterns.
The red and yellow navi seemed to have mutual interest in each other, but it took a backseat for the time being as they watched a small band of Navis enter into their Deleted Network.
"That device... that's the one that was stolen from us."
"But where's the black-haired girl? Isn't she the one that took it?"
"Quiet down."
"Who knows. And what would she want with the device, anyway? Maybe she sold it off to somebody else."
"Quiet!"
The red and yellow navis continued to bicker with whispers as the blue one studied the group that had just entered through the portal at the mouth of the corridor.
It was the clinking of metal that caught their attention at first -- not Nidhiki's legs, but Yami's removal of her inhibitors. The Blue Navi had listened to their conversations as best he could from his distance, learning as much as he could from his observation.
"So what do you think of our... 'boss'?"
"Hmm? You mean old sugar cube?"
"They're under somebody's command... Somebody either too cowardly -- or too smart -- to come in here themselves..."
"Well I'm sure she has a great personality! Though I suppose her interest in this little area is something to think about. Usually, you don't see ordinary 'Good Samaritans' dealing with this kind of stuff. So, Mr. Ex-Mercenary, I'm sure you've seen them all, what would our Sugarcube be? ONB? INA? ABC? She may be so big, her profession goes through the whole alphabet! Certainly, the information pulled for this isn't by any ordinary NetNavi, nor are these... toys."
"She's certainly no small fry if she's got the guts to boss us around and these types of toys to play with for sure."
"Hmm..."
The blue-leader continued to study the group -- watching some of them experimenting with their weakened state-of-being, overhearing and learning about the non-weakened potential that they each held when not under the effects of the debilitating field, and most importantly, learning the personalities, behaviors, and relations of each.
There was a brash girl, as fearless as she was egotistical.
An ex-mercenary, who was scary to look at, but actually quite concerned for everyone's well-being.
A winged-swordsman -- an experienced warrior no less.
A young girl, but one who looked more uncomfortable than afraid.
And another girl -- a glimmer of light in a world of darkness -- deeply afraid to find herself here, but more afraid for the safety of her peers.
"So Boss... what's the plan?"
The Red and Yellow navis had stopped bantering, finally. But they still remained to be void of any use at the moment.
"They've been sent here by someone... I don't know exactly who, but I know that it's a female, and that they don't like her very much."
"...Sounds like our petty thief."
"...I thought she was more of a 'pretty' thief..."
"I'm standing right here!"
These two lovebirds would never shut up. Half the time, it seemed like they were just trying to argue over something so melodramatic.
"How did you even hear that?!"
"We have mic's on, you idiot!"
"Shut up."
These two would drive him insane if they kept going. Oh, how he couldn't wait to get new associates. Bringing in the black-clad girl would finally earn him the privilege.
"We can't just go assuming that their 'Boss' is the same girl, regardless of whatever leads we think we have. We can, however, use their disdain towards her to our advantage. If we're lucky, they'll confirm our assumptions and give us their trust... which will leave them open for an unexpected attack. Then, after we finish them off, we can head into the portal and grab their 'Boss'... whoever that might be."
"You're soo smart... and cute."
"I'm standing right he-!-- Shut. Up."
That privilege just kept sounding better and better.
"Now let's move. And for God's sake -- and your own -- don't blow this."

"I can tell you right now: This isn't going to work."
Just before the Blue, Red, and Yellow Navis began to set out, the Green Navi standing off to the side behind them finally decided to speak up.
Needless to say, her outfit was entirely identical to the rest of the crew, sans that it was Green.
"And what makes you think that?"
There was always somebody that had to contradict the Blue Navi. And that 'somebody' always ended up being the Green one.
"She'll tell them to attack you the moment you get down there. Despite only knowing her briefly, they're going to trust her over you. Especially since she's their only ticket back home."
It wasn't a bad point. But not enough to change the Blue-Leader's mind.
"Then let them attack us. We can take them down in a four-on-five, but I'm still convinced they'll at least be willing to hear us for what we have to say."
"Then do as you please, but I'm not coming."
"The three of us should be more than enough, then. You sit here until we get back. If they turn out to be more than we can handle -- intervene."
"Roger."
As the Blue Navi left to go intercept the group of Navis, accompanied with the Red and Yellow Navis, the Green Girl began making her way back to base just a half-mile out.
She managed to make it to the entrance when she heard a scream for help over her communication device.
"GET THEM! GET THEM! I'M DONE!"
They lasted even shorter than expected.
The Green Girl turned around to see the Yellow Navi running toward her -- most likely being chased down by the group of Navis they had failed to dispatch.
"Where are the other two?"
"They deleted both of them! And they didn't even hesitate!"
"I told him it wouldn't work..."
"And that little brat had me thinking she was so adorab--"
"-- How far are they behind you?"
"They didn't chase me. But we can't go back there!"
"We don't have to."
A visor dropped over the Green Girl's eyes, enabling her to scope out the group of Navis a full half-mile away.
"Looks like the little girl could have stopped you... but didn't. It'll be their undoi-- "
The Green Navi was interrupted by a private message sent to her over the communication device in her ear.
"..."
"What is it?"
"It's Pele."
"... What did he want?"
"... One of the Navis."
As she was talking, a Cannon Battle Chip had been sent to the Green Navi. She didn't fire it off though... it was as if she was waiting for something.
"Which one?"
"..."
A second Battle Chip came. Hi-Cannon.
The area began to shake just slightly as she continued harnessing the power of both chips without letting them go. A vibrant white light began to emanate from her as well as she waited for the third and final chip to come.
"Which ever one survives."
Almost as if on queue, the third chip -- M-Cannon -- had been sent to her.
"Now go."
As the Yellow Navi began making her way back to the group to fulfill her new objective, she made certain to stay clear of what the Green Navi was about to do next.
"PROGRAM!"
The ground began to quake even more -- without damaging the base behind her -- as she declared the combined power of the three chips she had received.
"ADVANCE!"
A bright red flash illuminated the area as a massive, jet-esque cannon formed on the Navi's right arm. Her suit's color had shifted from Green to Red, signifying not only a change in Rank, but a change in Elements as well.
The red flash given off from the event was bright enough to be visible from where the group was standing.
"POWERED CANNON!"
At the declaration of its name, the massive weapon fired off an enormous beam of crimson energy that endured for several full seconds before fading away. In its wake was a meter deep, five meter wide trench caused by the blast, along with several pillars of smoke flowing skyward from the ground due to the intense heat of the beam.
It had targeted the Red Orb near the group -- the one that Noal was reluctant to destroy -- so that its success on the other targets would be absolute.
All that was left was for the Yellow Girl to bring back one of the survivors -- assuming there were any.
The Navi's colors shifted back to Green from Red, redeeming her Rank and Element as she waited for the Yellow Navi's arrival.
"She'd better not screw this up, too."
