Merrill finally felt like he got in a decent hit in on Vance. About time, too. As Vance attacked Back, he took each attack except the last, knowing he was prepared for such an onslaught. He remembered that interesting chip he picked at the last second. Without giving Vance time for a respite Either, Merrill attacked again with a similar pattern to before, except this time, he tossed that chip in a the last second. He watched as the darkened blade Charged Vance, curious to see the damage it would do.

Vance had little choice, and so he stood his ground. He bore Merrill's onslaught with forearmed crossed before his face, wounds ravaging his frame. At the end of this assault, Vance uncovered his face wit ha speed that was nearly startling, lashing his claws out to his sides in a near feral fashion. In his mind the fight was only truly beginning now, but his diminished frame wouldn't comply.
As quickly as they fell to his sides, the warrior of blue's arms rose again as he charged his foe, fist curled tight as could be. With new found fury, Vance swung for Merrill's glimmering defense, determined not to leave it standing.

After his shiny Aura broke, Merrill felt Vance becoming weaker, knowing each strike was getting stronger. He felt Vance energy change, his fury rising, and Merrill saw his Light change to a blood Red color.

He smiled. For once, he felt like he might be able to beat Vance. Repeating his set again, He sent a wave of fire at the end this time, making sure to leave a trail of fire in the wake.

Vance drew back his fist once more, eager to land his next blow upon the rapidly increasing muscle of his foe. But his arm would not obey, laying limp at his side rather than rocking forth for the fierce jab he'd planned. The drained sensation spread throughout him, overtaking his wire-frame form and bringing the tenacious warrior down upon one knee. His head sunk, and shook a moment.
"Another world that reject me, eh? Wonder if it's even worth breaking in..."
He rose to his feet lethargically, regarding his opponent with a nod. There were words on the tip of his tongue, no doubt, but none in good spirits he could utter. In the name of sportsmanship and simple respect between those who take to the battlefields, Vance departed in silence, waving only to his better rather than any spectators. He slumped through and exit tunnel, not with a limp, but with a noticeable sloth about his gait.

Merrill watched as Vance departed. Vance's words echoed in his mind. He nodded and returned the wave respectively, and added a bow, to Vance, even though his back was turned. He too, wasn't one for the spectators, but he waved as he turned and looked towards the exit tunnel. He walked quietly, calmly, even though his mind was a flurry of activity. Between Vance and his next round, his mind was vibrant with activity. He hardly even enjoyed the fact he finally beat Vance. Sure, full power, Vance had him crushed, but here, they were much more equal. Merrill believed pretty much equal, as had he not took Vance down when he did, he would have been in trouble.
