Sol simply nodded in response to King Spraxi, pulling out a cigarette and heating the barrel of his weapon to light it. This was sure to be something of a pain, but it was the only way back, the only way home. It needed to be done regardless. Off in the distance he could hear Feint's voice angered, likely having another disagreement with Vance.
Sol had little opinion about the group he had ended up with, The temptress known as Mist was a bit too provocative for him. He preferred his women a bit more reserved. Independent, but reserved. Her whims having already carried her off to some unknown area, she was hardly part of the group at this point.
The one next to him, though he blew up at the rest of the group, was pretty calm, calculating and observant. Those were good traits to have in this situation. Only time will tell however how they end up liking each other.
Feint was far too uptight for him.
Vance.... Sol wasn't sure about Vance. Despite hitting him with the stone earlier, he was charismatic, an important trait for a leader. However his rather arbitrary way of acting and impulsiveness were traits not befitting of one.
Time would indeed tell how this would work out, but for now, Sol did want to hear the King's response to Rikaru's question.

[bgcolor=003374]Vance moved to proceed down the last of the stairs with dagger securely tucked in his pocket, but the air around him halted the navi's progression. Feint's none-too-subtle vibrations shook the air, and her tense state radiated, cuing Vance to turn around once more and greet the lass as she repeated his words to him. Odd she chose those, Vance had actually meant to emphasize the latter sentence.
But he dwelt not on this, for Vance's own eyelids widened ever slightly as they met Feint's again. This time there were alive with passion, emotion not yet seen nor heard of from this cold and calculating lass. His brow perked in expectation, and these expectations would not go unfulfilled.
"You don't know a darn thing about me!"
One brow sank, the other rose again. Was Feint truly this much of a dense personality, who could act on pure rage and emotion alone? One who was unable to bar the saturation of such fury from diluting the most basic of logical and mental thought? Vance wondered if she, like he, could make a tool of it. It was a shame, truly. As much as Vance wanted to find out, he did not.
Vance was a hot blooded warrior to be sure, but he was no fool, nor would be be played as or by one. This girl, these people, as much as they seemed to want it to be so, they were not his enemies. Vance's judgement told him this, and he would not be swayed away from it. In Feint's outburst, Vance heard only a foolish question he need answer. Careful to resist the temptation of lacing condescension and sprinkling sarcasm over his voice, Vance folded his arms as he spoke to the shaking she.
"Honestly now, don't you think it takes a bit of nerve to dictate what I do and do not know, least of all after this series of displays? I don't need a monologue about your past or what-have-you to comprehend what's in front of my face, or back for that matter. Why? Because it has no importance on right now - the present."
Vance raised his right hand, silver plated index finger jutting outwards in Feint's direction. The wand-like digit drew a circle around Feint from Vance's point of view and rested pointing square at the center of her chest, indicating the heart. The motion itself was almost robotic, the way his whole arm held stiff throughout, but the point was made.
"Your actions in the present, those define you. All I'm referring to is your exterior, because fyi- that's all anyone here is going to see with the way you act, and that's the only part of you that's making an impact here. A cold exterior, shunning the rest. Not lending trust period is one thing, I'll sympathize with that. But if you'd sooner trust the mental voice of a temptress from the unknown than the allies you came here with, I think I can piece together all I'm going to find out about you. Feel free to correct any misconceptions, but I was under the impression you wouldn't care to for a lowly delinquent such as I."
The navi of an off green hue of hair, the neutralist of the spectacles of the color spectrum, had tired ever so much to play the peacemaker, but that effort was since abandoned. Nor though would he succumb to the entanglement of the group's rising tensions. No matter the obstacle Vance would not be led astray, he would only plow forwards.

(I dont know what kinda logic you're using shin, but the only one who had a female voice in their head was Mist, the rest were male/ambiguous. So I dont think temptress is the right word. Also you're getting dangerously close to metagaming (as in you are but I'm letting it slide cause its kinda minor) cause Feint did nothing to allude to the fact that she had heard from a voice.
Anyway onto the stuffs, Btw @xen: I'll be PMing you shortly, because it may determine how I do things for a bit.)
The bickering between the two off in one of the towers went unnoticed by Spraxi, who kept his attention on the two in front of him.
"The ruins of what was once Sharon are to the south of this castle, if you could still call it that. You should Likely visit there first, as the Cave of the Beast, as its called, Is to the west of that. As for opposition. I have been confined here due to the seal, I only know of the Dragon. However it has been some time since the city housed people, it could have others. I suggest you watch your backs.
That is all I can help you with now. Good luck, heroes from beyond."

Rikaru nodded slowly after the apperition finished telling them the location to head. It seemed straightforward enough, even if it was rather unusual even for him to be doing a 'job' like this. Just one more thing he could add to the resume he supposed. 'He didn't mention if he made the request though...huh.' it was a thought that bohered him still, but he let it go. The sooner they got things started, the sooner they could get out of this weird place.
"I see. Very well then, the city first it is then." He paused, looking over to Sol before continuing. "See if you can't find that Blonde girl who has a mouth on her. I am going to get the happy couple from the next room...or kill them trying."
Obviously he was unaware if they were in the next room or not. But the point was made what he planned to do. He promptly turned towards the archway that Feint and Vance had taken, and started forward at a quick pace. He had tried to ignore the shout earlier that had rung out while the king had been speaking. But absentmindedly, he clenched his hand into a fist while walking as he thought of what was likely going on. If the girl was going to make this much noise, he would not have any problems leaving her tied up here to keep her out of the way.
It took a little bit, but soon enough he walked in on the room, or hallway really, as it just led to a staircase that they had apparently either not made their way up yet...or already were coming down and desided to stop for a little chat. Regardless of which one it was, he had them both now in front of him, and judging by the expression on Feint's face, and the fact that the tension in the air seemed thick enough to make a sandwich out of, he figured he got here just in time.
"Am I interupting something?"
He made no attempt to cover up the tone in his voice that hinted at his annoyance. Frankly he was almost ready to not care. Maybe if he did it alone, or maybe at least take the gunman with him, he could at the least leave her behind. But he would give them a chance to not be stupid, stepping forward until he was more or less between the two, just incase his intuition was right, and they were about to go at it.
He turned to Feint first, as the first things he had to say were largely directed at her, and made sure to keep his voice even now. Even though he wanted to let it slip in how annoyed he was at this whole deal.
"You may be independent like me. A lone wolf type of person. But if we are ever in another situation like this again, if some sort of trap doesn't get you first after wandering off...I will.
It was basically a threat, and underlining in a way an attempt to do exactly what he said earlier he didn't like others doing, taking some sort of leadership over others. As much as he disliked that kind of thing, and he didn't really want the role anyway, he was not going to let her, or anyone else if he could help it, end up wandering around alone and doing god knows what that could spell a disaster to the rest of them.
"Maybe you forgot, but not only did we end up here thanks to a sketchy request that was posted, but we got warped to some place that I don't believe is even the Net anymore. And you can't tell me you haven't noticed that something felt different once we arrived here."
She hadn't been told by a King that they warred against dragons with magic, so she couldn't make that logical step from 'Something about this place is weird' to 'This is definately not the Net as we know it.' But even then it was obvious that it wasn't, just in more subtle ways.
"Now, if you are willing to stop throwing what ever tantrum you had going. I have found out a way to get back 'Home'. You can come with me, or run off clueless and hope you get lucky, or enjoy your life here. Your choice."
Not waiting for a reply from Feint he turned to Vance next, not having much to say to him, but at the least addressing him too.
"Likewise for you. You can do your own thing, or tag along. Doesn't matter to me at this point." he paused and started to walk away before halting and looking back at them both. "I will wait in the center room for 5 minutes. After that I am leaving." And with that, he started back down the hallway from which he came, the only sound being the echo of his footsteps bouncing off the walls.

[bgcolor=003374]((I must disagree, I've not metagamed in any regard here. An otherwise inexplicable gun to the back is plenty enough reason to suspect he's not the only one hearing voice. Other aspects of the scene and events leading up to this point I mention in the post contributed to the assumption, and that's all it is, an assumption. That's even stated outright at the end of Vance's speech.
Use of the word temptress, poor word choice on my part certainly. But leav mah semantics gewfs 'lone, I wanted to get a post done before I fell over so Rem wouldn't be waiting longer ;>.>))
Vance wouldn't even hear a reply from the lass in front of him before one of the other meddlers found their way up. The shield wielding warrior of a teal head of hair, this time. If he was going to contribute to the cooling process then by all means he was welcome. But what Vance didn't expect was a contribution to the fire.
"...if we are ever in another situation like this again, if some sort of trap doesn't get you first after wandering off...I will."
Vance's arm swung out at Rikaru after hearing this. Shy of striking the navi by far, it was a gesture meant to capture attention and stress importance.
"Will you knock it off, tough guy? Stop threatening her for god's sake!"
Now wasn't that the oddity, a man defending his own repeat-offender assailant. Or so it seemed. It was far from a personal response, Vance had simply had it with the whole lot of them, the condescending soloist attitude that saturated this small population. His right fist burrowed into the wall and knocked several crumbling bricks loose with an echoing thud. Now it was Vance seeking to stop another in their tracks. In his mind this comparison didn't bode well.
"Enough threats, enough dictating this and that, mocking each other with all the smart alec commentary you can muster. I don't care what any one of you think of the rest, we're here together, on one side, not 5. You can't just talk down and treat the rest like nuisances while you dictate what you're doing and when without lending an ear to anyone else. I'm not hear to tag along like an unwanted lost puppy. I want some godd*mn collaboration to happen here. Sharing thoughts and information without going at each others throats before their piece is even half said, so we can figure this whole crazy scenario out instead of wandering around alone in the dark. I dare you to tell me that's too much to ask."
There came that stubborn nature, rearing it's head again. Vance had sworn off his peacemaking efforts for all of 30 seconds before he'd resumed them. It became apparent he wouldn't give it up so easily. The neutral navi let his fist fall to his side now, and wondered if these folks had even heard the term over-independent.

Feint's rage wouldn't subside during Vance's speech until he mentioned the mental voice. Her mouth closed -- no longer showing her gritted teeth -- and her eyes loosened up a bit so that they weren't so sharp, but squinted with a display of perplexity.
' He knew about the voice in my head?'
That would mean that he either caused it, or he'd experienced something similar. Regardless, it didn't make sense for her to do what it said at that point.
He was indeed right, though -- her policy to trust nobody was neglected for a sudden familiar voice, or thought. She'd felt like a victim of hypnosis as she suddenly came to realize what had really happened.
She wouldn't apologize -- or at least get the chance to -- before Rikaru came up to intervene.
She hadn't emotionally simmered down yet, and Rikaru's threat didn't hasten that process either -- but nor did it delay it. Being threatened or insulted wasn't something that could cause Feint to flip like that. And the fact that her "ugly" side had been seen by these two was rather... embarrassing.
Feint wouldn't say another word as the other two continued speaking, but even as she regained composure, she maintained a rather unpleasant expression on her face.
Her arms were crossed by the end of Vance's rant -- her gaze was facing neither Vance nor Rikaru, but directed more at the corner of the wall and the steps. Vance was right -- they were both right -- but Feint needed a minute or two by herself before she could really move past the situation.
Despite that she was in the wrong, and knew it.
" ... I'll be there in five minutes."
Her gaze didn't change. Her body didn't move. She didn't even blink as she spoke -- she seemed almost robotic. The sudden change of expression from angry to an undeterminable emotion made it clear, to some degree, that she agreed to what they were saying. Otherwise she would've remained angry.
The apology, the forgiveness -- all that would likely come later. No one would really expect those to come immediately after a severe disagreement anyway.
But Feint wasn't concerned with righting her wrongs right now -- she was more disappointed in how easily an unknown voice could sway or deter her from the right course of actions. Forgiving Vance for an accidental harm would come easy, but forgiving herself for an accidental 'failure' (as it registered in her mind)... not so much.

Rikaru had paused when Vance swung at him with his arm, granted it wasn't exactly an aggressive motion as much as it was to grab his attention, which worked...sorta. Rikaru's gaze shifted to look at Vance from the corner of his eyes while Vance spoke, but as soon as he finished Rikaru turned back to feint to say what he would.
Mentally he sighed relief when Vance hadn't interrupted him for the rest of what he said, though as he turned to leave he finally did speak up again, as did Feint, halting his gait. It took a moment, but finally he turned back around and crossed his arms while focusing on Vance, his gaze seemed searching, but less angry then a moment ago.
"You don't understand, not like she probably does. You might never understand, but in certain lines of work, everything, for everyone can go from bad, to dead. All because someone storms off alone or doesn't think before acting. "
It may have been considered an exaggeration by some, but it wasn't far off from the truth. He had seen it happen personally and had heard stories of others.
" I never said you were going to be like a unwanted puppy. Maybe my choice of wording was poor. I don't have to worry about others feeling usually, and I am less then in a mood to be proper currently."
Admittedly he knew he probably let more anger leak into his speech then he should have. At this point, but he didn't fully disagree with what he had said either, and didn't feel like apologizing...yet.
"And while I may prefer working alone, I am not above working with others if the need arises. I didn't HAVE to come get you two, you know."
With that he turned back around to walk away back towards the throne room, but remained standing still for a moment longer. Finally looking back over his shoulder as he spoke. "I will tell you what I know when you get to the center room."
And for the second time in the last few minutes, he started to walk off, feeling more calm then earlier by leaps and bounds. Amazing how quick ones temper can taper off given the right situation. He turned to self reflection as he made his way back towards the throne room, almost completely lost in thought.
'...I need to do better...'

Sol had not moved from his spot, his cigarette about half finished. He had already seen the blond girl leave the building a long time ago. It was surprising that Rikaru hadn't. Even so, Sol stood relaxed, just wondering internally when they were going to leave. Normally he'd be off on his own, but that didn't seem like the best idea right now. He looked to the one navi who'd stayed in the throne room with him initially, Rikaru, as he returned from talking with the cute couple. He didn't look happy, quite stressed really.
"Don't let the lover's quarrel get to you. We're in this together no matter what."

Unluckily for Feint, it may be longer than five minutes before she could return to the two in the throne room....
As Vance landed a hard punch on the already shaky and unstable wall at the base of the crumbled tower, a number of stones dislodged from the support, making the whole tower shake slightly. while the quarrel went on, small noises of stones moving about could be heard to those who were observant enough and not busy arguing amongst themselves.
As the quarrel came to a close, so did the tower itself. The increasing stress on the now even more unstable structure meant something had to give. And it did. As soon as Rikaru had cleared the entrance of the tower, the entire thing crumbled in on itself. Or more accurately, on Vance. Everything happened in the manner of an instant, leaving Feint and Vance stuck, now even more physically cut off from the rest of the group. The sounds of the tower crumbling could be heard all throughout the castle, and even throughout the nearby forest. Birds sitting about the trees all at once flew into the sky in terror.
Inside the now collapsed tower, the two were pretty lucky given their situation. Feint was unharmed, save a few scratches here and there, but Vance was not so lucky. His left leg was caught, and subsequently crushed beneath the rocks that had tumbled upon him. With a broken leg, he would have great difficulty moving about as readily as possible. However he would have to dislodge himself first. Strangely enough, the fallen tower had revealed beneath it to have some sort of black sand, identical to the kind that was found on the island. It funneled a path out of the tower, but it seemed much heavier than before. It would take extreme effort to move that much sand, or extreme cunning. Luckily for the two, the fall of the tower did not block off all air flow, there was still some holes in what was now the cieling, comprised of fallen rubble. The sun shone through it, and it may be possible to break through the new cieling, but moving one bit of it would surely have the entire thing come crashing down.
New Objectives:
Dislodge Vance from the rock
Resuce Vance and Feint
Restrictions: Vance's leg is broken until further notice
Hints: Very dense black sand runs along the ground in the tower. Unknown how deep.

She'd been oblivious to it before, but now she heard it clearly. The quiet rumbles from the walls, the silent crumbling of the stones it was composed of -- but by the time Feint noticed it, the ceiling had already begun to cave in on them. She had a split-second to brace, though, which is probably why she came out unharmed.
She gathered herself as the dust began to clear.
Vance would probably hear her coughing, but she was still unaware whether or not he'd made it through as well.
" ... You still there?"
Hopefully that call would come with an answer. The dust was clearing up now, and she could see some of Vance's aquatic green hair off in the distance. He was there, but whether or not he was alive was another question entirely.
Her eyes quickly scanned the area, soaking up as much information about it as they could
Sunlight and breathable air coming from a fragile and unstable ceiling. Dense black sand running along the ground now -- but it certainly wasn't here before. And a pile of debris burying part of Vance -- from Feint's point of view, it looked like his foot was held captive by the rubble.
She was lucky not to get any serious injuries.
If she ever intended on eliminating Vance as the threat she'd once believed him to be, this would be the opportune moment to do it. In fact, had they not had that argument just now, she would've taken this chance to dispose of him.
But due to his rebuttal to her accusations (and the weight of guilt now on her shoulders), there was only one thing that clearly needed to be done.
" Don't move too much -- we don't know how much of this debris is being supported on your leg."
If there was enough, then dislodging Vance's foot would cause that debris (and all the rubble that it supported) to fall down as well, finishing the job that the falling tower had almost accomplished. And besides, two lives for one leg wasn't a great bargain.
Feint scanned the rubble that was trapping Vance's leg again -- if it looked sturdy enough, she'd begin pulling. Hopefully he wouldn't scream too much, but the pain would most certainly be agonizing.
That course of action was dependent solely on the results of her scan, though. If the wall didn't look sturdy, then maybe she could find another loose rock around here (that was around to size of Vance's leg) to fill the hole with, after they'd dislodged him.
And in the absolute worse case scenario... he still had that dagger in his pocket. Two lives for one leg didn't sound so bad after all.
But Feint didn't mention any of that. She'd simply approach the problem with the best possible solution.
The sand was peculiar, and the way out of the tower seemed to be toward where the sand was funneling. But escaping was the secondary objective here, as was investigating. If Feint was going to be this guy's only hope for escaping this tower, he wouldn't be disappointed for Fate to have chosen her. Not on her watch, at least.
And just so it's clear... [Actions Taken: Scan Wall] -- [If It Looks Sturdy: Remove Vance's Leg] -- [If It Doesn't Look Sturdy: No Action Taken]

[bgcolor=003374]Vance had no intention of issuing a retort to Rikaru, but it seemed that decision wouldn't be left to him. He'd achieved his goal of smoothing over any of the more extreme tensions in the group as evident by Rikaru's cucumber-cool exit and Feint's regained rock solid exterior. He'd criticized her look before, but after the last display he was in fact relieved to see it return.
Unfortunately, one success led to another failure. Thought necessary to make his point, the blow to the wall would be rather detrimental to the navi himself. As the walls rumbled and crumbled, Vance could only stand his ground and muse to himself.
"Let no good deed go unpunished..."
The Fall itself was in majority a blur to Vance, in large part because his view was entirely obstructed by a torrent of rubble until he reached the bottom at last. The free falling sensation was somewhat a source of exhilaration, and this in turn appeared ot have acted as a numbing agent. For when Vance hit the ground with a thud, the pain all rushed back to mind, a sharp one in his left leg. Broken bone...? Vance felt human again, rather Yamato did, mortalized by this flesh wound.
More importantly, he was trapped. Immobile and injured. This certainly made things easier, a real test of what good he'd done for himself and the group with his peacekeeping efforts. Vance was quite the easy to pick off target in the current state, and his well being was largely dependent of what Feint did now. Wasting no time, he answered when called for, sitting up hastily while keeping his lower body in place.
"Yes'm, alive and dandy, sans a limb!"
He inspected the area, and found Feint was correct. The rocks might well finish the job they'd failed to do thus far if he's been hasty to free himself, and his ability to escape the collapse should an exit be found would be greatly hindered. The rock formation would require careful inspection, but he turned back to his preliminary scan first and foremost.
Vance looked at the ground, and found it curious. He, along with the rest of the rubble, had landed with quite some force. Yet this sand, the very same that had coated the very shore they landed on, was much too dense to make a splash, much more dense that the sand he'd so easily flung about before. He noted cracks in the stone ceiling about as well, but dismissed them as an ineffective way out without some actual solid footing to climb on.
Vance slammed his gauntlet into the sand beneath him, the only solid thing here and the only thing he could touch without fear of causing his own death. He'd repeat this a few times before Feint made her was to him, attempting to plunge his hand into the blackness below, scooping up any if possible and ascertain just how deep it might run.
Be it now or later, as Feint positioned herself to withdraw him and his leg from the rocky prison, he dismissed a quiet sigh of relief, and spoke in the tone of small talk on a most serious matter, through the side of his mouth that wasn't clenched tight with the pain.
"Well at... ngh, any rate. I'm glad to... ow ow ow, have such a capable lass come to my rescu- Son of a biiiiiiiiscuit-eater!"
Vance was a warrior, hardened by battles both physical and emotional. His pain tolerance was actually quite refined, and his final scream, while not terribly loud or disruptive at all, was only a testament to the degree of pain that emerged when playing tug-o-war with a broken leg.

Rikaru had managed to clear the entrance to the tower, just stepping into the throne room when the stone gave out, crashing down in a deafening roar. Instinctively Rikaru had dived forward, rolling and stopping in a crouch, quickly looking back to see how bad it was.
His gaze met with a pile of rubble that filled the archway that had led to the tower, and spilled some into the throne room as well. Also notable was that a lot of the stone flooring near the entrance that was now blocked had been broken and dislodged, allowing one to see the black sands underneath.
"If its not one thing its another..."
He looked around the room to see if the rest of the ruins seemed in danger of collapsing as well. He caught sight of Sol standing alone, he guessed that meant either the blonde was not found, or was uncooperative.
After his initial scan over the area, regardless of the structures soundness, he moved towards the blocked entrance, quickly surmising that it would be unlikely he could unblock the doorway to see if the other two were ok. He supposed he could see if there was a way to get to them from outside, but before he made that attempt he stooped down to examine the sand, the unusual color and the obvious density (it was apparently holding up a castle), sparked his curiosity, as it was so unlike what he was used to seeing.

Sol really hadn't been paying much attention, his note fell on deaf ears as he misjudged Rikaru's location relative to his. However it had not been but a few seconds after his remark that a terrible crashing sound came from the archway. After cringing slightly as the tower collapsed in on itself, he could hear the screams of pain, the toned down cursing that followed. Turning about to face the entrance to the tower, he saw the wreckage in full, the black sand showing beneath the ground and Rikaru examining it. He briskly walked over to survey the wreckage and see how things were, but he said nothing. Admittedly, he sort of saw this coming, nothing good was going to come of the arguing between the two, especially in this run down castle.

Unfortuately for Feint, it was really hard to tell if the structure was indeed sturdy, it was safe not to touch it for the time being. Still the immense pressure continued to slowly crush Vance's leg further, it would likely not be something that could be repaired in this world.
Rikaru however, observing the sand found out one thing for sure. While this sand wasn't the exact same as the stuff on the island prior, it certainly was very similar. Possibly the only difference being density. However, upon touching it something else became abundantly clear. Rikaru's control over sand, though weakened by the world they had entered, was enough to work with this. Additionally, he sensed that the sand actually ran all around the base of the castle, further even to slightly outside the castle walls, though a thin layer of dirt and grass covered it over. In terms of depth, it went down further than Rikaru could sense.

If she couldn't determine whether or no the wall was sturdy, than it must have not been. Better safe than sorry, in this scenario.
But there were still other options.
Feint noticed Vance digging in the sand to test its depth. It seemed to be a lot deeper than he could reach. She knelt down to scoop a handful of it, planning to pour it over the rocks. If she'd poured enough, the small sand would be able to sink between the small cracks of the rocks and essentially cement the air out between them, making the structure that much more sturdy. Sort of like the cement between the bricks of a brick wall.
That was if she poured enough sand, though. Feint didn't even finish scooping the first handful of the black substance before she'd abandoned that idea. It would take hours to do that with just her hands, and they didn't have that much time. Besides, Vance's leg would be so far crushed beyond repair by the time she was done that it'd have needed amputation anyway.
" Well, we're out of options."
It wasn't the most preferred course of actions, but it seemed to be the last one available.
" The structure's most likely unsturdy, meaning we can't just pull your leg out. It also means that it could come down on us any second, so we need to do something fast..."
There as no way of saying the next part other than just saying it. Vance probably wouldn't like the idea, and Feint really didn't either, but desperate times called for desperate measures, and unless he had a better plan, this is what they'd have to do.
She held her hand out to him, palm up.
" ... I'm gunna need that knife."
