(Mission topic for Help.... meee........) The captain of this ship approaches the small group of navis that joined him on the voyage to strange coordinates. A small island with some strange structure could be seen in the distance, slowly growing closer as the boat neared the coordinates. "Alright lads'n'lasses, as you can see, we're just about there. I've no idea what to expect to be ready. I'll wait here for ya. Tell me when ya ready to go back."Shortly after the captain finished speaking, the small boat hit the shore of the island. The Island was not like many one would expect. Smaller than should be possible, looking much more like a sand bank than anything else. It would be no issue to walk around the island in but half an hour. The sand itself was black as night, shining as the digital sun hung high in the air. Though amongst the sand something beneath it shone very slightly. In the center of the island and in plain view, stands a small shrine, no bigger than about 30ft high and taking up almost all of the center of the island. An archway is the only apparent entrance as stairs lead up to it. The sun would not reach in there, though it seemed to be dimly lit, Hard to tell from this distance.

'Targets Appearance: Undetermined. Description undisclosed.'
Feint was the first one off the boat, more or less ignoring the captain after his lecture (and during it too, for that matter). He was a simple program with a simple purpose to her, probably of no more use than the rest of the navis on this mission -- none of which she particularly cared for either.
But alas, it was a 'team' assignment, so she would respect those conditions and wait for the others before charging in guns blazing. Or just gun blazing -- she only needed one. It sat comfortably in its holder at the bottom of her back.
The texture of the ground was peculiar. Feint bent over to grab a handful of it, then slowly let it pour out of her fist.
'Not dirt...
No, it was something else... it was... sand?
Black was an uncommon color for that, but then again, that wasn't the only uncommon thing about this island, or bank, or whatever one was to call it.
'The heck was this lost navi doing out here anyway?'
There were plenty of answers to that thought, but none were worth spending the time to ponder over. Speaking of wasting time...
" Off the boat already! Distress calls need to be met swiftly, not carefully. Let's get going."
Amateurs. Not something Feint was unfamiliar with. After sizing each of them up on the boat, though, at least none of these navis looked like they'd be a burden.
A spear-wielder, a white-haired guy with a crimson coat and a gun, a aquatic-green haired dude with interesting gauntlets, and then another girl with a sea-shell shaped staff. Quite the lineup... sort of.
Judging by the number of navis selected for this mission, and the various qualities of each, it obviously wasn't going to be a simple search and rescue.

Sol hopped off the boat shortly after Feint and observed the surrounding area. The black sand was strange indeed, he crouched down and picked up a handful of the stuff as well, letting it flow through his fingers.
As the sand finished flowing through his hand, he cringed as he heard Feint's yelling at the group. As he turned to look at the navi's skin-tight form, sighing heavily.
"Yeah Yeah, calm down. If we go too fast we might fall prey to some trap. You never know whats gunna happen. Especially if this little island wasn't even on any known maps."
It was true though, time may be of the essence right now, however reckless behavior can only backfire. Especially in such an unknown area.

[bgcolor=003374]Vance leapt off the boat when prompted, a miniscule splash occurring underfoot. The silver-fisted navi inspected his surroundings promptly, have already done so for his colorful companions. He squinted into the sand, drawn in by it's odd color. His right foot reeled back before swinging forward like a sledge hammer on a hinge, creating a cloud of the dark matter before him. His eyes stayed down, though, inspecting the shinning material in the area now depleted of much sand.
Curious, he thought it. But this adventurous warrior had stood still long enough, lent an ear to whatever inconsequential instructions the captain had for him. Scanning the larger distance of the island, which was as a matter of fact, not large at all, Vance spotted only one place of interest visible. A small shrine. Not much to go on, but it was more than the captain could offer. There would be the first destination. Be it only Vance's or the whole team's was theirs to decide. He only rallied them with a half sincere, half sarcastic call to action.
"Alright, onwards, boys and girls! To the center we may march, where our only clue may await!"
He lent no verbal recognition to Feint's haste nor Sol's caution, though bpth were being accounted for in his suggestion. Vance only motioned the group with a broad sweep of the arm as he propped one foot atop a boulder, jutting the a finger towards the bare shrine. He'd give them a moment or two for acknowledgement, but he himself would not be disputed nor deterred in this matter.
His operator sat herself upon a wide, semicircular couch centered in spacious but a dimly lit room, her PET shining a clearly defined image of the latest happenings around Vance before her eyes as the young and fair lady watched intently. It was strange, in the bland comforts she know as her home now, she was very well entertained by the excursions of her partner.

[bgcolor=335500] “Go ahead and hide in the dark,” _______________________________ "Alright, onwards, boys and girls! To the center we may march, where our only clue may await!"
“Mmm! I love a man who tries to take charge and dominate me!~” the promiscuous voice came from almost thin air, but it was somewhat dense. A trail of vapor had seeped from the ship and vanished as small remnants, but was collecting itself around Vance while it had done so. A long slender part of it had reeled from behind Vance, around his shoulder area, and collected before him; the most of it already forming a humanoid shape before him as heavy vapors of indigo towered from the sand to five feet above.
The trail of vapor became a reaching arm with itself turned up and fingers curling as if they were seductively gesturing him to come, while the rest of the fog formed a figure just as alluring: skinny legs, short pink skirt, and a body clad in what seemed to be a garb appropriate for a female mystic, but the long blonde hair, smiling lips, and half exposed eyes filled with electric blue was nothing short of a promiscuous young lady from which the voice came from.
“But I can find ways to entertain and pleasure myself! Thank you very much!~”
Obviously, she was mocking Vance.
Rebellious attitude and confidence in her skill, and if not her looks, was what pushed the temptress along as she turned her back to Vance and swept her hand dismissively with a smile on her face. A giggle had come from her lips, showing nothing short of her amusement of him trying to rile the troops. It was a noble effort, but a girl like her did not care for nobility…nor tact…or even lady-like qualities for that matter. She was a wildly one, and so that had prompted her arrogantly to walk towards the small shrine with her usual flirtatious swagger of a walk. Her boots let a rhythmic crunch of the sand be a backdrop of music to her movements, and a wave of the other hand that made a small circular formation of vapor dance behind her as it expanded.
“Mmm!~” her moan was deep and her breath was gentle as she approached, “Come now, Puffy! You know how I just loooove to have fun with big structures in mysterious places!” she had said as she approached the shrine of her own accord. By the time she had placed her first step before the ascending stairway, the vapors that danced behind her formed into a Cloudy virus that followed suit, floating behind her, as she seemed to press on making it obvious that she would go on, either with or without the group, carelessly taking leeway to explore the terrain.
…and so the promiscuous, illusionist’s exploration had thus begun. _______________________________ “It’s more fun when I feel my way around.” ::OOC Stats::Now Listening To: ”Change Clothes {Instrumental}” by Jay-ZIC Attire: Default Chatty Ditz: -----

Last but not least of the assembled group was a Teal haired navi, who seemed more dressed for a walk through the city then a search and rescue, or what ever this would turn into....sans the sword and shield strapped to his back...
The boat ride had been uneventful at best, down right boring in his opinion. As the boat closed in on the island, his gaze was set to watch the approaching land mass, but his mind was else where. His thoughts drifted to the unusualness of this whole deal. It wasn't often he found himself, willing or not, to be working with others, let alone the mysteriousness of it all.
His thoughts were brought to a halt as the craft made landfall, and after half listening to the captain inform them he would wait for their return, he leapt off the boat and landed softly on the strange sand like ground. He turned his head to either side as he watched as two of the others hefted a handful, and let the soil flow through their fingers confirming what he already knew to be just from standing in it, that it was some sort of sand. 'Strange...' was all he thought in regards to the odd coloration. There was nothing to say sand couldn't be black...but he wondered if there was a reason for it.
When Feint spoke up, he looked to her and squinted his eyes slightly, scanning over her once again. The way she acted and spoke, coupled with her attire, made him fairly certain she was also a bounty hunter or something like it. Competition, yet a temporary ally, and inpatient to boot. 'Great...'
The white haired gunner spoke up and voiced Rikaru's opinion on rushing, albeit a bit different reasoning, but close enough to let him leave it at that. He started to move forward away from the shore, as obviously there was nothing of interest near where they landed. He only half paid attention to Vance's suggestion, as he was already heading in the general direction of the shrine, and didn't need his suggestion to guide him there.
He stopped when he was across from Feint to her left, and crossed his arms before glancing over and speaking to her. "I don't know about you, but I don't appreciate people automatically trying to assume leadership, so don't get any ideas that you can try to fill that role." uncrossing his arms he looked forward again at the shine a short distance away before continuing. "Kind of funny that all we got was some coords that led to an unknown isle isn't it? And one that couldn't be warped onto to boot. Makes someone wonder just what this whole thing is about huh?"
He remained still for a couple seconds after finishing, then started off at a mid paced walk again, offering a half wave as he left Feint with that comment. He figured if anyone, she seemed the most likely one to notice that strange detail, that is if she WAS like him. He made no effort to be first, or second as it turned out, as the strange blonde haired girl was already climbing the stairs to the alter, me merely took his time to make the short trip to the structure, hoping this WAS as simple as a search and rescue...

"Yeah Yeah, calm down. If we go too fast we might fall prey to some trap. You never know whats gunna happen. Especially if this little island wasn't even on any known maps."
Better to be too fast than to be too slow. In Feint's mind at least. But this guy had a point. Before she could respond to the white-haired one, the aquatic-green haired one grabbed her attention.
"Alright, onwards, boys and girls! To the center we may march, where our only clue may await!"
... The hint of sarcasm was enough to show how much importance that navi held this mission in. But perhaps Feint was just being 'too serious' by holding any matter of importance to it... she'd been accused of that before, anyway.
Feint looked back down at the black sand. She was still very curious about the strange glow underneath it, and still studying it when the green-scarfed navi came up from her left.
"I don't know about you, but I don't appreciate people automatically trying to assume leadership, so don't get any ideas that you can try to fill that role."
She didn't turn her gaze -- gave him no special attention -- but responded sharply and almost instantly. Seemed she expected somebody to say something like that.
" Don't confuse leadership with initiative. I just hate the feeling of being slowed down by the rest of you."
She raised her head to see bondie approaching the shrine before the others in the group. At least someone was also interested in moving quickly. Although the white-haired guy was right -- now that Feint took a couple moments to think about it -- safety was just as much a priority as swiftness. The odd nature of the mission returned to Feint's mind as the spear-wielder began to mention it.
"Kind of funny that all we got was some coords that led to an unknown isle isn't it? And one that couldn't be warped onto to boot. Makes someone wonder just what this whole thing is about huh?"
The white-haired guy hinted on noticing this peculiarity earlier, but teal-hair here seemed to actually realize that this wasn't a mere 'search and rescue'. There was something far more to this, of course. At least she knew she wasn't the only one aware of that anymore.
"..."
Her slight pause before responding made it somewhat obvious that she'd been considering this abnormality since she'd gotten off the boat.
" It's not the strangest job I've taken."
But there was no doubt it'd only get stranger.
As Rikaru began approaching the shrine, Feint continued to stand there, quickly assessing possible outcomes and determining the best course of action. It only took a mere second or two before she began heading toward the shrine as well. The crimson-coated gunner would likely follow the rest of them, once they started moving.

As both Sol and Feint picked up handfuls of the dark sand, it fell through their fingers smoothly. It was very fine sand that was for sure, strange given the small size of the island. Vance however, with a powerful kick at the ground, made contact with... something... It was hard, bigger than that of any grain of sand, more like a stone. Without warning the stone rocketed toward Sol, striking him right in the head. With its velocity canceled, the stone bounced slightly off the white haired navi and onto the ground next to him. It was clear and sparkly, like a gem of sorts. It looked valuable, perhaps it was. Either way, it was clearly Sol's now.
Sol Obtained: Crystal
Back on the boat not far from where many of the navis were, the captain smirked very slightly behind everyone's backs. Pulling his hat down over his eyes, he leaned back in the chair he set up on his ship, drifting lazily off into dreamland.
As the illusionary temptress approached the shrine, a strange light began to become apparent. Along with the dimly torchlit room, about the center of the room was a swirling portal of sorts. Spatial energies swirled forth from the portal, glowing slightly with an otherworldly energy. The interior of the shrine was rather bland, though at the very back there was a crest mounted on the wall. The crest looked to be a sword and a bow crossed over each other overlaying a dragon in the background. A strange decoration choice indeed.

Rikaru wasn't exactly expecting Feint's quick and sharp reply to his first comment. A great start between the two of them it seemed, but he largely ignored it, as was shown by his next comment completely changing the subject. Her moment of silence that matched his made him fairly sure he either made her consider something she hadn't thought of yet, or made it more apparent that it wasn't just her finding it was weird.
He was just about to begin heading off when her delayed reply stilled him for a moment as he listened. That confirmed in his mind she was a mercenary of some sort then. Not many others considered things like this a 'job'. Either way, he supposed it was for the groups best interest that there was another navi more experienced in...unique situations.
Finally stepping forward to head towards the shrine, he offered one last parting comment as he made his half hearted wave. "For someone that doesn't like being slowed down, by us you seem to be the one lagging behind." his voice was flat, one might argue it had a teasing tone to it, but those that knew of him would doubt he would ever do something like tease another, it wasn't like him at all.
Either way though, he carried on towards the single thing of interest on this small isle.
The strange blonde navi would be inside poking about by the time he was at the bottom step leading to the entrance, but that didn't bother him any. He paused at that step, hardly breathing as he listened, he thought he felt some sort of strange energy, though nothing specific was visible that seemed to stand out as the cause. After a moment of hesitation he finally took to climbing the remaining stairs, and entered the structure.
Once inside he had the answer to what the strange energy he felt outside was from. The portal in the center of the shrine had a sickeningly similar energy about it as the portals Eon had made a few years back. He knew they wouldn't have to worry about him being the cause of this one...but what was? This shrine surely was made to house the warp, so it must lead to something special, or important. What though was lost on him.
Not one to mindlessly enter strange portals, he took the time to look around the rest of the room, noting it lacked much of any real defining characteristics or decorations, save for the strange crest on the far wall behind the warp. Seeing as it was the only other item of interest he made his way over to stand before it, and studied it, briefly running his hand over it in the process.

"For someone that doesn't like being slowed down, by us you seem to be the one lagging."
Feint smirked a little as she slowly walked toward the shrine, a few feet behind this teal-haired fellow.
"Wouldn't want to leave anyone behind."
Referring to Sol, obviously, who was still behind the rest of them.
Feint travelled slowly enough that Rikaru would reach the shrine before her, but not quickly enough that she'd leave Sol in the dust.

[bgcolor=003374]A stiffening chill ran down Vance's vest clothed back at the sense of a sensation about his arm now. His eyes narrowed, if only to prevent them from widening in a daze. The figure that appeared before him was no kind of relief, a stunning young woman to say the least. Indeed, that scantily clothed young lass, oozing with the stereotypical willy wits of a female mature in body alone, was no candy to Vance's eyes, it was venom. Yuzuki was no more pleased at the sight, her typically pale skin now flushed as she stood fully upright leaning into the projection.
“But I can find ways to entertain and pleasure myself! Thank you very much!~”
"Well, aren't you just a tramp-magnet these days?"
"Careful when you bite. Wouldn't want to clamp down on that sharp tongue of yours."
The dialogue between navi and operation was swift, and to the common ear it was ridden with friction. But such wordplay was common and harmless between brother and sister, a builder of relationships, not a wrecker.
As he watched the young girl skip onwards at his direction despite her rebellious words, he listened in on the conversation between the knightly navi and the female with slightly more practical dress, glaring through his peripheral at the pair. Hearing all this, though, Vance only shrugged with his hands hung at shoulder-height, a shake of the head accompanying the motion as they passed by.
"Yes yes. To hell with teamwork, introductions, all that corny crap. Let's find what we're here to do and be on our merry separate ways." he paused momentarily, stiffening his gaze. "Word to the wise: it's a fool's game to make enemies of allies."
There was no secret nor sugar coating now, the sarcasm was drenched thick on this one. This disapproval was nothing but a low growl, though plenty audible to the target audience. Vance turned to the gunman behind the rest and stared at the rock in his hand, the item his almighty and admittedly accidental kick of the turf yielded. He shaped his fingers into a gun and aimed for the gunman himself as he began slowly backpedaling away.
"Hold on to that now, y'hear? It's hard work kicking sand don'cha know?"
He dashed at a mild paced, assuming his divine-rock-chosen ally would follow behind. Vance caught up with Feint, the cold toned lass that oddly enough came off as the most agreeable and thoughtful in the group. Though not a developed skill, considering he didn't care all that much about impressions in any case, Vance was not all that skilled in casual conversation. Nevertheless, he adjusted hi pace to Feint's own, and attempted.
"Quite a bunch we've got here, wouldn't you say? Makes you wonder what kind of task requires this... composition, dare I use the word, of navis."
His tone held a slight upbeat note in it, close to sincere as he could muster. Vance didn't care for impressions, true, but getting on all the bad sides wouldn't yield any benefit. Hopefully he's receive some manner of non-hostile response as they approached the shrine.
When he stepped inside, Vance's vivid blue pupils darted about the small, plain room from behind his aquatic green locks. The scanned swiftly, but by all means thoroughly. Unlike his teal-headed companion, however, Vance's mind was entirely void of hesitation. He strolled up to the portal, inspected it closely with the tips of his gauntlet, and turn to the rest of his alleged comrades.
"Well, I'll play the scouting party, or Van-Guard, if you will. Follow if you wish!"
With those nonchalant words, Vance back-hopped once, and dropped vertically into the oh-so-mysterious portal. It was quite the fearless act when taking into account Vance's previous, painful experience with reckless portal jumping.

Crimson coat was still lingering on the beach, it seemed. Or he was at least walking at a very slow rate behind Feint as she continued her own approach to the shri-- no, wait... there were footsteps coming up behind her.
' Guess he finally decided to catch up.'
" Quite a bunch we've got here, wouldn't you say? Makes you wonder what kind of task requires this... composition, dare I use the word, of navis."
She could tell by the voice that it wasn't the white-haired gunner that had come up to her. She was observant like that -- although such an observation didn't take much intelligence considering the difference of their tones of voice.
This guy didn't seem to upset about her ignoring his 'words to the wise' from earlier. Or maybe this was his own way of abiding by them.
She kept her gaze forward, toward the shrine, and maintained a straight face while grinning a little bit as this aquatic-green haired guy got to the word "navis".
They weren't oblivious to the obvious, at least.
" It does make me wonder..."
By this time, both the blonde girl and the teal-scarfed guy had entered into the shrine, but to Feint's knowledge, the gunner was still somewhere behind she and this fellow she was with now.
" ... But simply 'wondering' about it won't answer our questions. There's only one obvious way to do that, at this point."
She was more-or-less quoting his comment from earlier on, " to the center we may march, where our only clue may await" -- it literally was there only clue to... well, anything.
When they made it to the steps, Feint stopped to let Vance walk before her.
" Go on ahead. I'll wait for the other guy."
Teamwork wasn't exactly her preference, but if anyone was going to go it alone, she'd rather it be her and not somebody else. Again, it wasn't her preference, but she wasn't incapable of handling it.

[bgcolor=335500] “Go ahead and hide in the dark,” _______________________________ “Mmm!~ Not exactly the nicest looking place, but I like the atmosphere.”
Torch lit walls that left the place dim only placed there light so it can reach ever so desperately. Still, whether the lighting was significant or not, Mist had still made her way into the shrine, poking through the dimness without a thought about the other traveling lot that came with her. The virally corrupt Navi had walked a slow pace as her legs crossed before one another, hips twisted, and a single digit of a finger sliding across the wall and breaking into a light haze and regenerated itself once again.
“Hmm?”
A shift of her eyes going to the center of the room as she walked by the swirling distortion within it; Mist had taken only a second to observe and think that maybe it was a portal, but to what kind? Did it lead to somewhere or was it connected to something? Questions that eluded her as her eyes went back forth to her path. This place was mysterious and she had no time for guessing games. She was an impulsive girl and explorer at the heart of her programming, and the vile digitized darkness only twisted it to perverted reaches. So she pressed on deeper into the room until she finally comes to a stop before Rikaru who positioned himself near the wall observing the crest.
How boring this was!
“Tacky shrine, tacky symbols, and a tacky portal...” the illusionist said, “There’s no one here interesting, or to the very least, interesting to promise me anything worth my while!~”
Her voice a mixture of expectations and the disappointment that came with it. Mist had turned on her boot almost like a graceful spin as she turned an about face to the crest on the wall after stroking her finger across it; dismissing it with a strike of her digit. Her eyes had gone to the sight of Vance, whom at the moment she turned, had leapt towards the direction of the portal.
“Well, you don’t see that every day: a guy that doesn’t hesitate to get into something.”
A twisted smile running across her face, Mist had approached the portal with her hands on her hips and one boot crossing the next. Her back reeled forth as she bent slightly over and let her eyes peer towards the portal, waiting to see if Vance would either peek back over alive or simply she would call him a corpse within time. _______________________________ “It’s more fun when I feel my way around.” ::OOC Stats::Now Listening To: ”Change Clothes {Instrumental}” by Jay-ZIC Attire: Default Chatty Ditz: -----

As soon as Vance was about to jump into the portal, the portal itself began to spin at high velocity. The glow coming from it growing brighter than before until it began to shine a blinding light. As the entire room lit up, the navis in the shrine were near blinded by this unfamiliar light. Even those outside could see what was going on, confusing to say the least. Then, in an abrupt instant, a massive flash of light visible even from the shore of the Aqua Net erupted from the island itself, enveloping all who stood on its shores. When the lights faded, no one remained.
As the light subsided from the view of the navis investigating the island, it became clear that they were no longer in the same place that they were before. The location they were in was actually looking more like a ruined castle than anything else. A throne room no less, worn by hundreds of years worth of exposure to the elements. The room itself had an open ceiling, thought it was clear that was not the intention from the start. Up in the sky a bright sun shone through a mass of clouds, the blue sky looked nothing like the digital mass of the net that the group was used to.
About the room among moss covered stone and creeping vines was a ruined throne of stone, its high rising back having been partially destroyed, but the seat itself maintained fairly well. Thought not visible through the hole in the ceiling, two entrances at left and right corners behind the throne obviously led to towers of some kind, with archways serving as entrances where doors used to hang. A few piles of rubble could be seen strewn about the room as well.
Beneath the group of navis a small pentacle can be seen carved into the ground, though its origin was nothing any of them had seen. A black stone sat in the middle of the pentacle, surrounded by the navis as they had all appeared about it.
A thought seemed to manifest in the minds of the navis, almost spontaneously.
'I don't think any abilities that alter my physical form will work here... also teleporting might not work so well for me.'
Additionally, Vance notices that his connection with his operator has been severed.

Feint turned her head to the shrine as the white light began to shine from inside. Her right hand immediately went to grab the gun holstered to the bottom of her back, but she didn't pull it out just yet -- she just held it there.
' Those idiots...'
She could picture them flipping a random switch marked "DO NOT PRESS -- ISLAND SELF DESTRUCT" while they fooled around inside of that shrine.
Not long after, the blinding light forced her eyes shut and her free hand covered her face until the light faded.
Her eyes darted around the room quickly, observing everything as hastily as possible, but they immediately stopped when she noticed everybody gaining their bearings.
" The light is obviously what brought us here. And it came from inside the shrine."
She looked to Vance, Rikaru, and Mist as she continued. Her facial expression and tone of voice weren't very happy ones, to say the least.
" What'd you touch?"
Surprisingly, she wasn't actually yelling at them. Nor was she flaunting her gun in their faces. She was angry, clearly, but almost calmly so. Her tone was more 'disciplinary' than 'infuriated' -- even though she was certainly infuriated inside, especially if this really was their fault.
It could have just been a spontaneous anomaly, of course, and Feint could accept that. As long as their excuse wasn't along the lines of, "it was an accident", then she could more or less overlook the misfortune and start deciding what to do next.
None of those three would preferably lead the group anywhere else, though.
