For years, this digital island was a near-perfect replica of the real world country of Creamland. The navis of that country's residents lived here in relative peace and prosperity.
Unknown to them, far across the reaches of time and space, Lord Samhain of the Dark Dimension had chosen Earth's internet as his next target in his yearly campaign of invading other dimensions and colonizing them with his own citizens. For his 666th raid, Samhain opened a portal to Creamland's network and invaded. The locals were caught completely unprepared and teleported into imprisonment as Samhain cursed the virtual country, changing and corrupting it into a hellish, otherworldly version of itself. His armies overran the land, and he recruited allies among Earth's own navis to defend him and his claim to the colony as he waited for the curse to become permanent.
During this waiting period, a small war ensued between Samhain and his forces and a group of Earth navis who had decided to fight back in order to undo the curse and reclaim Creamland. Despite the defection of many of his initial supporters and the failure of his lead general, Nightwind, Samhain ultimately succeeded in defeating the opposition with the help of two loyal Earth navis, Xion and Xyzillentz. As the curse solidified into permanence, Samhain was sucked back to his home dimension as occurs each Halloween. He must remain there until next October. Before leaving, Xion was appointed governor of the Dark Colony, and Xyzillentz his advisor. Nightwind was left behind with orders to serve them, and hundreds of demonic Dark Dimension citizens flooded into the colony and claimed it as their home.
Knightman (a regal navi charged with governing Creamland's network) and some of his forces which had been away during the network's takeover appeared soon after. They initiated a system restore function in order to undo Samhain's curse - but ultimately, the network was too deeply infected, and the curse too powerful for the operation to overcome. Defeated, he and his forces left to recreate their network elsewhere.
Still, all is not exactly as Samhain had intended. Xyzillentz has left his post, Xion seems to have gone missing, and worst of all, some powerful corrupting force has embedded itself into the network's code too solidly for even Samhain's powers to remove...
In Xion's absence did someone else become appointed as Xyzillentz left, Xion returning and reclaiming his position regardless and slowly fortifying the colony through his own efforts and soon to be others, appointing a new adviser in the absence of Xyzillentz.
Special Role-Play Information:
Those bearing the mark of Samhain have enhanced strength here in accordance to their position, the governor obtaining the most power as a result and being remarkably more powerful in a battle at any place in the Dark Colony.
