...in the open indeed! When last I walked these once hallowed halls, they shone with the beauty of royalty. Now, they seem more akin to a Halloween nightmare....
As if the booming voice wasn't enough to tell the Navi behind the voice, a medium-dark blue form breaks the light of the doorway and walks into the castle casually, far more interested in the architecture of his future home than the familiar faces; Ruin, Xion, and even... wait... AirMan's attention diverts in an instant as his gaze falls to a familiar form. A form that he hadn't seen in some time....
AirMan: Ho-HO! And to speak of bad dreams, where has this welcome nightmare been hiding?

Just as Xyzillentz rose from his seat to address Xion - without bowing, as he'd become rather sick of the gesture over the past year - his explanation was pre-empted by a villainous voice from behind. Xyzillentz practically pirouetted in place, whirling around in an instant, all too eager to confirm the presence of the navi he considered his best friend. "AirMan!"
His first instinct, in all honesty, was to run up and hug the big ol' blowhard - but considering the substantial circumference of his torso, any such attempt would likely have been in vain. And besides, this was not the place for such a display of lustless affection. Instead, he strutted over - with an admittedly accelerated pace - and shook hands with his old acquaintance. "I was just about to explain that very thing. Thank you ever so much for getting here in time to save me from repeating myself yet again."
ElecMan also recognized the windy warrior, but didn't quite match Xyzillentz' boundless enthusiasm. Instead, he waved a giant metal hand at the towering turbine in greeting.
Xyzillentz turned back to face Xion once more, his wide smile obscured by his helmet but his improved mood evident in his voice. "And it's good to see you too, Xion. Nice to know you're actually going to be around for this." A rude comment, in a way, but delivered with enough light playfulness to hopefully pass as a joke. "Lightning Lad and I were stuck on that shameful ship ever since you deposed Xezzukhz. He summoned us to nurse him back to health and aid his plot, since the a**shole apparently can't be bothered to do anything himself." Sure, he was heavily corrupted and bedridden most of that time, but... details.
"We would've just deleted him, but Nightwind was there too, and he's as blindly loyal to his Dark Dimension kin as ever. They were preparing a spell to contact Lord Samhain, and obviously if that happened we'd have had a much bigger problem to deal with. So I stuck around and sabotaged it. Of course, now they think it's YOUR fault." Xyzie chuckled slightly at the success of his own plan.
"I volunteered to come here and - quote unquote - 'spy' on you guys. I couldn't stand to be around that insufferable imbecile for a moment longer." The suited snake paused for a moment to moan in anticipatory pleasure. "I'm going to LOVE seeing the look on his foul face when he finds out how much I hate him. I may have gotten him the job, but no way in **ll am I letting him keep it."

(Because someone told me Ruin doesn't need to talk.)
"You're welcome to redecorate. Though we'd have to find some way to get past the usual change thing where it just reverts back after. Unless that isn't a thing."
*Would be nice if it weren't, but then the place would end up losing most of its Halloween feel because he would leave the redecoration to the others. And seeing how much they didn't like it and how he just rolled with the gaudy thing then he imagine it wouldn't last long. Of course, had he known how terrible people were at governing themselves sometimes he would've just forced Xyz to do it for a while when he took his leave of absence. It's not his fault that some people are terrible at independence. And he was trying to be lenient and everything... All they did was hold it against him.*
"I suppose in hindsight I shouldn't have issued that beating as a warning. I forgot these guys don't listen very well."
*He had only wrecked the guy because he actually listened to Pumpkinhead. Pegging the blame on other people wasn't something foreign to any of them so there was little point in getting upset there. If anything it helped Xyz out since the snake and Lightning Lad would just probably end up in trouble if they fought Nightwind and Xezzukhz, a name he could recall a bit more now that he heard it, directly.*
"When we're done mocking his face and such we can talk about something I sort of did while you were away. You know, like you spending your time nursing that guy? Or a lot of things really so these guys don't have a conniption when I'm away again."

Well, Xion and Airman returned, Jax was likely still at the coast. In that direction came several loud noises, as if small bombs were being set off. It seemed almost like a battle was already starting. While Xion and the others went along their chatter, Ruin looked out overlooking the city and walls. It would seem like pleasantries had been exchanged and they were about ready to make their move. Perfect timing too, as Ruin could see the troops he requested were arriving. Small in number, only about 20, he would only need roughly half of them to survive for what he wanted here. out of earshot to the rest he spoke to the crowd, various gestures being made as Ruin explained the situation and his crude plan. One of the soldiers stepped forward apparently, to which Ruin graciously replied by grabbing the creature's face which was above his and gripping it tightly as the creature seemed to tremble. Bringing it down to eye level the creature seemed to be about to scream something before its entire head was crushed, its body falling limp before the remaining troops and blood covering Ruin's hand.
With his orders given, Ruin came back in to the rest of the group, his hand still dripping.
"Not to overstep my bounds here but we should be heading off. Seems like the battle might be starting soon, and I'm itching to get a workout. They'll help too... Some of the troops are a bit wary between chosing sides, but these ones look like their convicted to our side despite so little governance, I think they liked that much." Ruin turned to walk back to the troops he had gathered. He spoke again to those behind him. "We should make sure he listens well this time."

+++HeatMan.EXE+++
“All adversaries who emerge meet the same fate!” _______________________________________________________
AirMan had obviously met quite the characters...
HeatMan emerged from the doorway as a brim of light that was similar to a candle in an unlit stadium. He had only been to CreamLand’s halls once in his lifetime on the premise that he was being honored for reasons of being a dedicated mentor. Now, however, his beady white eyes burning had looked about to see it all in ruins. The castle interior had since become nothing more than a memory of its previous glory, and the characters who stood within its halls now would only be called for either an execution before a queen or as royalty who were either the most noblest to stand next to Knightman or be under his lead.
“My apologies for not making haste, AirMan,” HeatMan said, “I had to take a good look at this place from the outside. It rekindled quite the memories!”
The box-shaped lighter NetNavi had floated to the side of AirMan, his beady eyes slid to the corners and his square head turning to the best of its ability to take in the surroundings. He stopped letting his body hit the floor with an echoing thud warranting any attention if any towards the new form amongst the many who seemed not only familiar with one another, but ready to become allies-in-arms. Whether their ideology matched up or not would mean HeatMan would probably be eager to join them considering that he had his own passions he wished to follow at the moment.
“You have quite the friends, some familiar,” he commented, “My apologies for intruding on you all before what it seems like will be a heated battle. I just had this burning feeling that told me I needed to follow my acquaintance here who was pointing me in the right direction.” his gesture towards AirMan with his burning gauntlet.

AirMan, while obviously very happy to see his old business partner as well, also holds back a bit, giving a smile with his eyes and a wave. Catching up would have to come later.
AirMan: I agree with Ruin. But before we do go to face the enemy, do we have any strategic information on our adversaries?
That's when the fiery Navi of old appears.... rather a dangerous group to just walk in on, but AirMan could forgive it. Especially given that they hail from the same era. With a wave of his hand, AirMan introduces his new friend while composing an e-mail at the same time.
AirMan: Ho-HO! Friends, allow me to introduce HeatMan. He's something of an... acquaintance of an acquaintance.... from the age of my hay-day, but a Navi of renown in his own light.
To: Xion, Xyzillentz, Ruin. From: AirMan Subject: HeatMan
I just met him, I don't know him. he might be useful, but If it looks like he's going to turn, kill him.

The e-mail from AirMan flashed across the inside of Xyzillentz' visor, hidden from others' view. Since it was clearly covert communication, he did not visibly acknowledge it, but it was good to know nonetheless. He waved casually to HeatMan before proceeding to answer AirMan's query.
"Well, as I was just telling Ruin, I don't know anything about his offensive capabilities - just that Xion managed to do a real number on him already, so he's clearly... less than invincible, despite the extra power Samhain gave him. He's also aloof and domineering, so he'll probably just send Nightwind to do his dirty work, since the stupid stallion is still loyal to him. He shouldn't be too much trouble, though."
"So hey," ElecMan said, a hint of frustration in his voice. He'd heard this same information repeated enough by now and was growing quite restless. "There's like, a ton of us, right? Shouldn't someone stick behind to guard the castle? Like, there must be some evil magic stuff in here somewhere, no? If Xezzukhz gets it, that'd probably suck."

DiscoKid.EXE The door opens, letting in a massive...ball of hair? It plays music as it rolls into the center of the gathering. The volume begins to rise, and then the rest of Disco's body rises from the ball, it was his Afro the whole time! "Hey super freaks! Name's DiscoKid!" Raising his arms up, the music becomes even louder, and the floor flashes. The castles usual floor is replaced by a checkered dance floor. Then Disco begins to do a few GROOVY moves ending in a dramatic pose with his right arm up finger pointing to the ceiling. "LETS GET THIS PARTY STARTED!"

AirMan turns to this... person.... and raises an eyebrow, or at least gives an expression reminiscent of an eyebrow raise, and looks him over. Next, he glances down at the floor as it changes, giving an even more puzzled expression. With a sigh, he looks at DiscoKid head-on and stares in silence for a moment. Then he activates his turbine-engine, releases a hurricane-force burst of wind, and sends the severely outdated Navi flying out of the still open door like a paper airplane. The doors then quickly slam shut behind him with a loud bang.
AirMan: ElecMan raises a fine point; our would-be usurper may have knowledge of this area that we do not. It might be wise to prepare for the unexpected. And in speaking of unexpected, perhaps it would be wiser to let whatever forces he's gathered do what they like while a few of our more suited men end the game early via assassination?
AirMan then gives a passive glance down to the horribly tacky multi-colored tile floor that DiscoKid had left behind... as if the existing decor wasn't bad enough.

DiscoKid.EXE As Disco was flung out the door he yelled "The party has just begun my friends!" a few moments pass as Airman speaks. As he looks upon the very trendy dance floor the panels change to Discos face with his tongue out. It then begins to speak "Now that's too boring! NOT GROOVY! my friend." Disco forms up from the floor next to Airman with his hand on Air's shoulder. Then whispering into Airman's ear "boogie wonderland" A wave of nauseating euphoria spreads through out the room causing confusion and disorientation.

Twice now this guy had come in and caused a minor nusience. Twice now he changed the floor to this terrible flashing mess. Ruin had just about had enough. They needed to go straight to the source, and this guy needed to be gone. Ruin knew his role, time to put it into action.
Walking up to Airman. Ruin took one hand in a small salute and the other to grab onto Disco's neck. Clenching it, but not quite stopping his breathing. He turned around and signaled for the door to open wide, to which his soldiers, which would no longer be necessary, did for him rather quickly. The massive doors wide open. Ruin took a few steps forward, disco in hand lifted slightly off the ground, brought his arm back... aimed for the Pride off at sea...
And off he goes! With a powerful overhead throw Ruin shot Disco into the air toward the pride, overshooting just a little bit... but it was alright.
[Disco Thrown: Wreck of the Seabound Pride]
Ruin then broke into a run, increasing his speed each and every step, until he reached the doorway. A massive leap followed, faster than the thrown Disco, catching up to him effortlessly. Ruin had left the building, the others would have to decide what to do with him done.

*It would be interesting to make quite the listener out of him. They also had a new acquaintance from the looks of it, noting what AirMan said as well. And what ElecMan said. And then what... was that disco?*
"Holy crap, I thought they killed that ages ago by now."
*Shaking off the stupor that DiscoKid was even a thing still, something he'd confront later he supposed, it was time for business. It was pretty obvious that Ruin had just sent out the first strike, so a silent assassination wasn't a thing anymore. Well, assassination was still a thing so long as the person ended up dead as he was taught.*
"Right then... Down to business. First thing's first: no more recruits. If someone approaches you or you see them hanging around the place at this time, end them immediately. Let's also assume that they abandoned the ship and are on their way here as the back up plan with more magical nonsense for us to contend with. Usually their calling card, especially after Ruin does anything in any situation at all these days. So AirMan, Xyz, set your things up. And by things I mean poison and air. Any lesser beings against us should be destroyed on their way here with them put together. I'll have Jax contribute too. We'll cover the castle, the prison, and a large chunk of the city with it."
*With that said if they saw anyone in the distance or nearby they could just destroy them and be done with it right away. Well, if nothing else it also meant that the defense could be set up to kill any would be adversaries like DiscoKid. Because silly as that was the guy was definitely trying to be a distraction just then. Odds were the ship that they were supposed to target had gotten bombed by Ruin, so Xezzukhz should at least be making his way to them. And from his plan it would be enough to end Nightwind and anyone else who was together, especially if their leader wasn't with them at the time.*

"Excuse, me, Xion dear..." Xyzillentz stepped up to the governor and bowed lightly out of politeness, mostly because he was about to disagree with him. "As flattered as I am that you have such an important task for my gas, as advisor I must suggest we consider something... more localized. Right now, the demonic denizens of the colony are indifferent toward your reign. If we initiate a toxic genocide, as fun as it would be, they would be likely to turn against us. And who knows what magical malarkey they could perform if they re-aligned themselves with Xezzukhz. We're talking about evil creatures from an unknown dimension, after all."
Indeed, some of the demonic guards within the palace were already casting fearful or angered looks the governor's way, gripping their weapons just a bit tighter.

*Xion listened patiently to Xyzillentz. Because the guy had a point for certain. Embarking in pure genocide was something they always approved of certainly, but then it would clash with his present goals too. Mostly because he had just went over this with AirMan. Turning them all against them would be bad. Rallying them to their own cause would be good. Now he wasn't as fluent in the ways of garnering charisma through his words as Toxin was, so that was going to be a fun thing to do soon. Anyway, matter at hand.*
"This is something that I've been considering for a while, Xyz. Killing off the citizens on a whim isn't the objective, just the ones who oppose us. For example, the people who come here and do as they please when they are not allowed to. I figure that put together with my own boosted power, of which I thankfully have not been revoked of yet, I can finally remedy that issue for the most part. The toxic genocide would be more akin to... I suppose you could say isolated quarantine. It would only kill those that we deem it fit to kill. It wouldn't harm us or the citizens. They aren't just expendable in the grand scheme of things. I should probably give Nightwind a second chance too."
*If only because he hadn't given him one yet. And if Nightwind chose otherwise then it was his choice, as he left everything up to the masses thus far. What Nightwind did with his life wasn't to be dictated, he just left him with the choice of standing with or against them. Or even out of the way in fact to see which of them were the last side standing. Jax wasn't here yet either, so he could actually move on to the idea that the serpent had just given him in fact.*
"You said that they remain indifferent to my reign, correct? Let's say that I tried to send out a broadcast like Xezzukhz did before. Could I pull it off as well? Odds are it will end up broadcast to every person around the world as well due to my experience. I don't really mind that much. It would let them know our intentions and the path that I've chosen to take for the Colony and the denizens. If I manage to keep it, that is."

Xyzillentz smiled slightly at the clarification to Xion's plan. Just enough judiciousness - NOW it sounded like fun. "As far as I know, the only reason Xezzukhz' broadcast went out to the entire net was because of a glitch you caused in his systems. If you want to limit your announcement to just the island, I'm sure you could. As for the plan... as long as we're not inciting an uprising, I'm more than happy to spread my stink all across the colony. And the opportunity to work with AirMan again is more than appreciated."
"So wait..." ElecMan looked around, clearly confused. "Does this mean no one's going to the beach now?"
"No, Bolt Boy. Ruin jumped the gun on that one. We're sticking around."
