Vanguard.EXE Vanguard had been reformed but for a few seconds, before a beam of radiance fell down from the sky, and smote him down much faster than he had reformed.
Just like that, his short journey back into the world of the living was ended.
However, his world didn't end how he had expected it to. There wasn't the blissful unawareness of anything; he didn't cease to exist, and the world around him didn't crumble away as he did. Instead, his stream of corrupted data seemed to be transported away, rather than completely wiped clean. The ray of energy brought him down onto a cobblestone path dotted with flowers, and, as his form once again solidified, he slowly stood up and gave the area a quick once over.
The place was filled with a preternatural beauty. Towering architecture vaguely reminded him of civilizations past, while the clear blue skies all around seemed welcoming. The flowers lining all of the paths were definitely alluring, and gave the place some well needed color. It was a beauty far unlike that of the Undernet.
Needless to say, Vanguard wasn't ecstatic. However, he was happy to be alive, so, he kept his mouth shut. Whatever was strong enough to take him here was strong enough to finish the job of ridding the world of his data stream. He stood strong and simply looked around, trying to find a face in the beauty. He dared his voice:
"Where have you taken me? Where are you? . . . What are you?"

Among the infinite gardens and cobble paths were a variety of what were neither viruses nor navis working away. Small, creatures working away, seeming to trim flowers and gardens. They were liek two trapezoids sewn together, with a creepy, wide sewn shut mouth and a single vicious red eye. One such creature, Horokko they were called, jumped out at Vanguard, seemingly in response to his questions. It floated idly only a few feet from Vanguard's face.
It seemed to laugh, or giggle, like a child, before turning and facing outward, floating idly away, as if beckoning for Vanguard to follow.
It would lead him along paths, through the cobble village, eventually coming to a stream. A beautifully carved wooden bridge crossed the vermillion blue waters, the carvings on the bridge both intricate and sturdy. Beyond the river crossing was a small path into a forest of flowers. Lavender grew on either side like wheat in the countryside, the cobble path turning to a dirt road.
Far off, in the distance, was a massive, albeit barren tree. It seemed almost as large as the network itself, and was visible from every corner of this world.
The words entered Vanguard's mind.
"Bienvenue to Elysium, the cold frame and hot house, the Garden of Eternal Life."

Vanguard.EXE Vanguard watched, intrigued, as the small creatures worked diligently on their garden. He didn't recognize them as any sort of virus he knew, but, there were definitely enough of them. . .when one of them floated away from the crowd, he could only watch as it came close to him.
It seemed happy, or possibly indifferent, about itself and its regards to Vanguard. It had a childlike demeanor as it turned about and floated away down the cobblestone path. He guessed it wanted him to follow.
Despite the sheer vastness of this Network, the little creature seemed pretty well acquainted, and knew exactly where it was going. It led him down multiple cobblestone paths, through small villages(?), down twists and turns, and, eventually, he found himself gazing into a stream.
He looked down at the beautiful, free flowing and carefree river, and then turned to the eloquent wooden bridge that passed over it. On the other side, the cobblestone path continued for a but a little while, before it disappeared into a dirt path that led into the woods, with fields of lavender on either side. The general beauty and tranquility of the place seared into the darkness and destruction that he thrived upon. . .had it been any other situation, he would've probably been content with destroying the place.
But, he knew better. He was someone's guest, and that someone was a very powerful individual. While he was in their house, he'd play by their rules. . .for now, at least. If they were as dark and malevolent as he believed, then, perhaps, this garden of beauty was just a pass time for them, and they wouldn't reject him simply for his dark intentions. He truly hoped he was going towards some darker entity, and not someone that he would scorn, and end up being destroyed by for his. . .habits.
So, he followed the path he was set upon, towards the larger-than-life tree. This appeared to be his destination, and, it sang to him.
"Elysium, then?. . .Come out," he said, abruptly, sounding suddenly irritated. "I understand that this is your home, but, I wished a proper audience - not to be carted around a giant garden by strange servants. Excuse me for my tone, but, is that too much to ask for?"

"Make egress? Thou has only scarcely disembarked." The soft, patient voice responded in kind, soothing the anger within Vanguard's soul.
"Enter." It responded, wooden doors magically revealing themselves within the massive tree ahead.
Within the center of the hollow tree was what appeared to be a cylindrical skirt, with red data waves pulsing throughout. It rose up high, higher and higher, seeming to reach into infinity.
Near the absolute vertical edge of this skirt was a pair of floating arms, spiked shoulders leading into thin air, and finally, a serene, smiling face.
One of the arms held a bag of popcorn, a multitude of screens circling Juno replaying the events that happened simultaneously in Kotobuki.
The smiling face spoke, and for once, Juno's voice was heard, a light, airy voice filled with goodwill, within Vanguard's ears, and not his head alone/
"I breathe as the sui generis, last, Megaman Juno."

Vanguard.EXE Vanguard came to a stop, just before the tree, as the words came over him. A feeling of serenity washed over him, calming his natural anger. . .it was a feeling that he hadn't felt in a long time, and, he didn't recognize it. He accepted it, though, and watched as the large tree opened up.
He felt his irritation begin to bubble back up as he realized that whoever this person was wasn't going to be giving him their full attention. He felt a strange need to bow before them, but, he was going to ignore that need. They would gain no such dignification, from him. Instead, he did as he was told, and simply walked forward. For a moment, he worried that the robot would take up all of the space in the tree; but, his worries were quickly proven groundless.
As he came into the room, passing through the wooden doors, he looked up at the man who called himself Megaman Juno. In his mind, he immediately decided to, instead, simply call him Juno. By the sound in his ears, rather than his mind, it would seem that he had deigned himself to talk to Vanguard.
Swell. "Greetings, Juno," he proffered, proving that he was more than his destructive nature with a bit of politeness. "My name is Vanguard.EXE, and I have come to answer your call."

Juno remained silent. The sheer size of his form instilling an aura of tranquillity around the environment of this hollow tree. The mechanized Megaman blinked slowly. Someone had come to submit, so soon? A hero?
No. Vanguard betrayed an uneasiness that was not that of an eager hero. Then what was his purpose here?
"What is it that you seek?" he asked, unexpectedly forward and simple in language.
"Glory? Fame? Power? Not a droplet of such follows down the crosscut you travel. So tell me."
"What is it that you seek?"

Vanguard.EXE Vanguard would be lying to himself if he said he wasn't surprised. Not only had he expected the man to simply ignore him, he was almost expecting to be delete for his bashfulness. He was fully aware that, despite his courage and determination, this being was capable of destroying him at a moment's notice, and Vanguard was powerless to stop him.
He scanned over Juno, trying to find some truth in his words. He was vaguely aware of the fact that Juno was surprised as to what was before him. Whatever Juno had been expecting, he had yet to find it in Vanguard. . .he wasn't sure whether this should put him on edge, or please him.
He decided to let it do both.
"To tell you that I wasn't here for power would be lying to your face, Juno. I am a vile Navi at heart, yes, but I am an honorable one, still.
"Power and glory are what I seek, for it is what I respect. It is for this reason that I came to you, to begin with; you have shown your power, and earned your own fair share of glory on the battlefield. With this in mind, I have come in search for your teachings, and to become a vanguard in your name.
"I am not so simple minded," he continued, as to come with only these intentions, of course. I come for hopes of learning, to be mentored. . .and, yes, I shall be honest with you: Some day, surpass, you."
He put all of his cards on the table. Perhaps, he had played them right. Perhaps, these would be his final, digital breaths. His expectations were high, and his ambitions higher. He left the ball in Juno's court.
Which was about the equivalent of an amateur tossing a ball into the expert's court.

A low rumble sang counterpoint to the dainty serenity that lay thickly over the area. It did not disturbed the sweet bliss of peace but instead added depth to Megaman Juno’s presence. Deep tones filled the air within the tree and in any company except that of Juno’s this voice would command full attention. It was the undeniable voice of a leader and one that bespoke no question of authority.
Still kneeling at Juno’s side, the ominous figure of the ReaverKing of War spoke to the young acolyte before them, “You will join me. War will cull the unworthy and set brother against brother.” As though given permission by the Master of Elysium, Var rose to his full height, towering above Vanguard. Obsidian wings tucked neatly behind his back as he held the enormous claymore in one hand, Var’s indomitable voice rose once again, ”Come. Claim your glory.”
In three massive strides, Var crossed the room, passing by Vanguard without a second glance. The doors opened wide for him and the Reaverking of War made his way to the immaculately carved bridge outside the village Vanguard had passed on his way for his audience with The Master of Elysium. There he would wait for Vanguard, and there he would look into the vermillion waters to seek the state of affairs in the world below.

Vanguard.EXE The rather commanding voice that suddenly echoed through the tree startled Vanguard, causing him to start up in apprehension and worry. Who was this, and where had they come from?
More importantly, how had this giant being so easily sneaked up on them?
When his general surprise and superstition passed, though, his mind picked back up and decided to actually pick apart what he had said. The colossal appeared to be talking to Juno; from what he could tell, he was another of Juno's lackeys.
A daring look up into what he thought to be a Navi's eyes told him otherwise. He had a circular eye with a red iris, not unlike the eyes of the creatures he saw just outside. However, this creature also radiated an energy unlike what those gave off, and threatened an authority that almost undermined Juno's.
Despite his overall surprise, he was quick to respond. The man's attention wasn't at Juno, but, rather, at him. He noticed in his tone of voice that 'War' wasn't just a normal noun, to this thing. . .he was referring to a person. "Are you War, then? . . .If that is your command, I suppose I will follow," he said with confidence, watching as the beast stood. The dark wings that he had tucked behind him didn't reach the ground, and were almost too high for Vanguard to reach; even at his own height compared to other Navis. When he started to stride from the room, Vanguard had to double his pace to keep up with his long strides, but, thankfully, he had yet to go very far into the room to begin with.
The man, whom he presumed to be War, led him to the very same immaculate bridge that he has passed on the way here. War looked down into the waters, and, once he was beside his new leader, Vanguard joined him.
He felt a new surge of ambition. "I realize that you probably have the power to Delete me without even a second thought. . .it'd probably come to you without much effort, too," he began, before turning to look up at War.
"But you told me to come and claim my glory. My name is Vanguard. Now, if you could deign yourself to tell me. . .are you War?"

Edge: -FEELSBADMANOMGBBQ!
On the other side of the area, a bright green Navi appears from nowhere and falls directly to his knees, his eyes wide and in obvious shock from whatever previous experience led him to this accursed place.
Edge: ...that... was not... worth it....
Edge slumps over onto his back and lays spread-eagle on the ground, staring blankly into the sky as he does so. He'd always hated being deleted, but having his respawn point changed so abruptly made things far, far worse. And that's to say nothing of the unnaturally long time it took for him to respawn at all. It felt like he'd been in limbo for months by this point. Of course, it would all be worth it when he finds Juno and-
Edge: ...why did I want to find him again?
Meh, that'll iron itself out later.

A message, on every television set, on every monitor, PET, and terminal. Worldwide. "Pleasant morning." On screen was that navi - Juno, painted like a porcelain figure. Ghastly pale, and bathed in pink light. Various images flashed across the screen, in long, peaceful shots of the endless gardens that were Elysium. "I would like to take this fine day, to invite all members of navi-kind to my home in Elysium, the final salvation of the living." In a moment, the screen cut to images of devastation. Those familiar with the scene might know it to be the burning, bombed out husk of what was once ENCS. It came as a shock, the sheer beauty of Elysium juxtaposed onto real life devastation. "This morning, an interloper attempted to finish myself, by destroying the servers in our great Electopian hall of knowledge, the National Combined School. In an act of hatred for navi-kind, humanity has risked its own kind in order to kill a single navi. The Netopian International Agency was behind this attack on the great independent state of Electopia. Isn't that a shame." The camera returned to Juno, he had a look of pleasure on his face, like a father watching his child grow. "Happily, this act of reckless disregard for human life and national sovereignty will cease to exist in a mere few hours. The Elysium servers, now safely imprisoned behind walls of flame and the impregnable fortress that is Dr. Tenma's server room, is happy to announce the termination of the Program: Earth." Another shot, this time of the stars in the heavens above. From the darkness of space arrives a satellite in orbit. It rotates slowly, revealing a designation and a name. Urban Military Security Ordnance A10: Eden. Fans of military history might recognize it as a relic of the second cold war, an ancient, decommissioned Sharonian nuclear satellite. It was active, and charging. "For those navis that choose to ascend from their earthly home, this unit invites you to Elysium, as within the next few hours, everything else on Earth will... cease to exist." "For those humans who have had the unfortunate luck of living in these end days, I wish you the sincerest condolences. Best of luck in the next life."

From behind Juno steps out a Navi that had seemingly disappeared from the net. B.o.B.... or well something that resembled B.o.B., it seemed slimmer and where its old golden collar used to be, there was now a piston like neck. Its arms were less bulky and asymmetric, but they still had their signature colors. Along B.o.B.'s arms, were adorned bizarre trinkets that looked like something out of a nightmare.
B.o.B. looked across the fields of Elysium taking in its pristine gardens and contemplating what the new Net would be like in the absence of human kind. B.o.B: "...the only thing I regret lord Juno is how wasteful this solution is. After Eden strikes we won't be able to salvage much from the remains. Is there really no other way?"

A stone-like figure, humanoid in appearance, but rough and poorly-defined, with no discernible features, appears behind Juno, near B.o.B.
Starless, as it is known, speaks in its strange and unsettling multiple voices.
"This one will stand with the Pink One. This one will terminate those who would oppose the new order."_______________________________________________________ Meanwhile, two other navis appear. One, a man, armored in polished mirror, the other a woman, with grey hair and eyes, lightly armored in only a typical skintight navi-jumpsuit and adorned with a white robe-like cloak. She pulls her hood down, as he de-materializes his smooth helmet to reveal his own grey eyes and hair.
MirrorMan and Serenity, arrived independently of each other, never before having met, united by the death of their programmer, operator and friend, Jameson.
"So, new girl. You ready to take this Juno guy down a peg or twelve?"
A fire burning in her eyes, Serenity was awash with emotion she was ostensibly programmed to not feel. Anger, hatred, fury, the antitheses of pacifism, coursed through her mind, her very being.
"Any other day I'd be the one ending fights. Unfortunately for him, I'm having a pretty bad day today, and I think I can make an exception."
MirrorMan smirks, re-materializing his helmet, and taking point as the two work their way deeper into Elysium.
"You've got heart, that's for sure. You watch my back and I'll watch yours. This guy is no chump."_______________________________________________________ Elsewhere, one more navi appears. With intricate armor of violets, blacks and gold, a stark, sharp red visor and red scarf, OverMan scans his surroundings. Having come into Elysium closer to Juno, Starless and B.o.B., the loner makes his way to them. Still new to the world, and unaware of it's politics, he simply came here when Juno's message went out to all. He felt compelled.
"Hello there. I'm a newcomer to these parts. A newcomer to being, in general, actually. OverMan is what they call me. They being... hypothetical people I know. It's my name. Sooo... What's going on?"

Once his data transfer had been complete, the sharded navi took his first step on Elysium, having noticed others arrived there already.
"So, this is Elysium..." Glassman spoke, glancing around the area. It definitely had a different feel in contrast with the other Networks he had ventured to / through...
"I suppose it is..." another voice spoke, as a female navi decked out in a purple dress that matched the vest she wore, ruby-colored gloves and boots that came closer to resembling a marbled white than the normal white.
"We'll need as much firepower and strength as possible." Fiera spoke confidently. All navis had received the invitation...so that meant there was no telling how many allies they'd have...nor how many enemies.

"The world must be saved..."
A bright light shone behind where Fiera and Glassman stood. Entering was a thin being, unrecognizable in the light. Stepping out, the Navi's red shoes and black leggings make a fast appearance. Her dress shirt flows furiously as she exits, calming as she stands in place. She opens her eyes, the bits of Holy Data within them sparkling. Her transport of light vanished, and there she stood in the hopes of appearing friendly to Fiera and Glassman.
"...or should it be, is the question. Is it worth indefinite deletion in executing such a seemingly impossible task?"
She walks closer towards the two new Navis.
"Now don't get me wrong, I am all for this 'saving the world' thing, whatever grants me more power in the end is the route I take so I'm willing to help out. I just want to make sure the two of you have your own resolves as well."
Rosary smiles and closes her eyes as she giddily introduces herself.
"My name is Rosary, and I specialize in brute force."
