Then BOOM! a flash and large quantities of Mtrl flooded into B.o.B.'s Storage unit. "Now what..." So many things began to happen, another new comer threatened the group with hostility if they didn't evacuate. B.o.B. watched as Challenger approached the tower to confront the mysterious others. "Too many people... I hate situations like this..." B.o.B. trained its left arm on Challenger preparing to create an object to intercept any attack Challenger would fail to notice...

Longinus takes the sudden opportunity to release himself from his turret position, the spikes in the ground retracting as he slides toward his right, putting further distance between the two other navis and himself. The barrel of his cannon protuded several feet over the edge of the walkway, as he reset it in a new position, still aiming at the area down below. The spikes entered the ground again, steadying his slide. It was now obvious that despite his lean stature, this navi was dense enough to move with significant momentum.
"I'm here to do my job, for real money, not threaten anyone for imaginary points." Longinus's quiet words were emboldened at the mention of the game.
"...any navi who would risk their lives for something so inane has more strength than common sense." He muttered afterward, to himself.
"If the area is cleared for my client, then no one has to be harmed. I can't be responsible for what happens to you if you stay, even if I leave myself. They want this area clear, and I'll get paid if it is. That's all there is to it." Longinus spoke to both Phoenix and Challenger. The area was getting even more crowded, and his client's hope - that such a show of strength would provide them with an open area, was backfiring. It seemed that displaying power, thanks to this game, was more likely to make yourself more of a target. It was an insane world where even otherwise passive navis would go out of there way to risk their data for nothing.

I have no intention of fighting anyone right now. I just want to prevent as much damage as possible from this 'game' that started. Deleting navis for some arbitrary points? Not like the navis here needed MORE of a reason to go around fighting each other. And those navis who succumb to dark influences will no doubt be using this as cover for their misdeeds. Only sorrow and strife will come from this encounter. Now I say again, Calm yourself. You know as well as I do that he isn't worth it. Just empty words and a big gun.
Phenoix was stern with his words, it certainly seemed like himself from a different time. A time before he knew the net was wrought with such conflict that nothing could purge it. But this... This was different. A great calamity was coming. He could feel at least that much, and this game they set up was merely the prelude. He could only hope he could communicate that to others.

"So, hate to break up your fire side chat, but this is not what we need to focus on."
Jin then pointed his blade towards the gate to Shell network.
"A short time ago, two areas of this network crumbled away. One of them, which I was in until I moved myself elsewhere, was Shell network. Until recently, this place also housed a peculiar mystery data. Some idiot navi accessed it, and that was when all shell broke loose. I don't care if you join me or not. You will not be paid anyway. This is a sort of good will mission. The objective is to figure out the state of this network, try to save as much of it as we or I can, and defeat anything or anyone that impedes said goal."
Jin then looked around at those remaining.
"Any questions?"

Longinus picked up Jin's words, and paused briefly, thinking about them. Mystery data... shell network...
He sent a private message to his operator with a recording of Jin's words, and immediately got a response: "The client is aware of this, do your job right and get those navis out, or there will be consequences." His operator clearly was in no position to be interrupted.
Longinus kept his outward appearance stalwart, but the response bothered him. The client wants this area cleared for some reason... does it have something to do with this network? Are they wanting to get at that... mystery data? He had a lot of questions, and didn't even know who his client was, but he could do something.
"Are you working alone, or for someone else? What do you know?" His voice echoed out toward Jin. This wouldn't be the first time that another mercenary was hired alongside him without his knowledge, or that the client put their own man on the job.
The cannon had mostly cooled now, and its energy recharged. It was clear that Longinus was in a position to strike again if he so chose, but he didn't seem to be making any more aggressive moves.

The smile on Challenger's face got wider and wider, both in annoyance and excitement. These Navis were getting more and more irritating by the second, but at the same time they were building the anticipation with each passing second. Oh, he couldn't stand it any longer, he just had to punch someone! And he knew exactly who!
Challenger: Nice speech, birdy. One problem though...
Recoiling his fist, Challenger suddenly rises from his position while spinning through the air. He covers the space in a second, thrusts his arm upward, and delivers a bone-shattering uppercut to Phenoix' jaw before latching his fists onto a wing.
Challenger: Same song, different singer!
Flipping his body around, Challenger kicks off of Phenoix in mid air and launches himself like a rocket toward Longinus, yelling back as he does so.
Challenger: Thanks for th' lecture, though! Needed a good nap!
Finishing the trajectory of his leap, Challenger lands directly in front of Longinus atop his new perch with a powerful slam. He then stands up, grabs the gunner Navi's weapon just behind the barrel, and leans in with a smile.
Challenger: 'Ya ever boxed, lad?

Phenoix recoiled as Challenger's fist connected sqaurely with his jaw, This one hit hard, certainly not to be trifled with. A gross underestimation of power, perhaps he was hiding it, it was hard to tell. Still there was little time to react before the boxer leapt off his back toward the one with the large weapon. As he began to float down slowly having been assaulted. Phenoix re-righted himself in the air, bringing a glowing hand up to his jaw and bringing it back into place. Painful as it was, better to fix it now than leave it to get worse. But it was in that minor exchange that Phenoix was able to deduce something from this navi, something rather important in this case.
"Some navis just don't listen to reason... But at least he doesn't carry the same killing intent you'd expect from one like him..."
Indeed, it was a lack of killing intent in Challenger's strikes. After it became clear he was holding back quite a lot, Phenoix realized how easy it would be for him to fall prey to this navi. But it was all in sport for him it would seem. Fair enough, so long as there's no deletions going on, that would suffice, better than to feed this monster that was orchestrating this slaughter.
Phenoix dropped down to the ground level, leaving Longinus to deal with Challenger. He assumed nothing problematic would come of it after realizing what he did. But this other navi was constantly spouting more about how dangerous this area was, perhaps it was worth getting to know more. Setting down next to him, Phenoix crossed his arms, half in thought, half in skepticism.
"I have heard about this strange mystery data. Tell me, you say shell network simply dismantled after this creature came forth from it?"

As Challenger jumped toward Longinus, the navi got a new message from his operator.
Longinus reacted with impressive speed, suddenly slamming his massive shielding toward Challenger, striking at both the navi and the ground, while releasing the spikes, causing him to slide backward several meters. The force dislodged the barrel of his cannon from the grip, and it was now firmly aimed at Challenger. The barrel suddenly lit up with a blinding light that obscured Longinus. Longinus's voice became slightly distorted through the energy, but there was a sort of manic power behind it that wasn't present just a few minutes ago. Bits of the net were cracking beneath him as the energy levels rose sharply, a loud buzzing noise coming from the weapon now. Longinus boosted back even further to put several meters between them.
"Don't bring a boxing glove to a gun fight. What are you, a V1? Not much HP? I don't even need to aim to cut you down. Let me enlighten you...."
There was another slight quake as the ground shook again. The cannon's charge turned from light blue to white, and a few arcs of lightning starting coming off of it. He then addressed Challenger, his voice echoing over the entire area.
"I'm not trying to kill you. I don't care about you, or your pride. But if you don't leave, then I fire. And when I fire, everything in front of me disappears. Get any closer, and you will too. Along with anything behind you. And that includes your 'friends'."
Longinus dug his heel into the net further, the spikes grinding under the weight of his weapon. While it was clear that it was still charging, the threat of it being released was growing stronger.
"You say these navis are you friends? Then why don't you help them out by asking them to get out of here. Because even if by some miracle you survive this next shot, I can guarantee at least one of them won't. I'm a professional. I delete navis like you when asked to, without question. This isn't sport or a game, this is reality. I've been asked to do whatever necessary to clear this area, and its up to you to decide what measures I will take to do it."
Now that he was charging the weapon again, the entire situation had suddenly become much, much more serious. From his vantage point, any one of them, or all of them, could be targeted, and Longinus wasn't acting on emotion or bravado, he had a clear job to do.
By the time challenger would even get close enough to Longinus, things could turn very messy very quickly. The cannon continued to charge, sphere of energy from inside it getting ever larger, and at this close range, it was clear that when fired it would rip through navis like wet paper.
"Your pride or their lives. That's the price for playing at my level."

Not good... Challenger went and provoked both navi's simultaneously. B.o.B. was realizing that Challenger might be one of those friends who started trouble often. "Challenger needs support NOW!..." Command Order Build! B.o.B. created a tower beneath it causing B.o.B. to rocket towards Challenger. Command Order Build! Before hitting the top of the tower B.o.B. created a wall in between Challenger and the large cannon wielding navi. Upgrade!Upgrade!Upgrade!Upgrade!... B.o.B. solidified the newly formed barrier, with this at least the brunt of the attack would be deflected from B.o.B. and Challenger. B.o.B: "Friend..." B.o.B. whispers, landing next to Challenger on the tower.

Challenger was ready for this one. He wasn't fooled buy the light or the show, but rather jumped back as the gunner makes his escape.
Challenger: Sorry, but you've already more than lost this one. All I needed was to get close.
As Longinus' weapon charges, something becomes very apparent; just behind the barrel, a massive, hand-shaped dent is now sparking and cutting off the barrel of the cannon. When Longinus hadn't been looking, challenger had literally crushed his gun with a single hand, rendering it entirely unable to fire. In fact, it was obvious that much more energy charged into it would cause the weapon to explode and take Longinus with it.
Challenger: You were right about one thing, lad. You really aren't trying to kill me.
B.o.B's appearance and statement surprises Challenger, and causes his smile to beam that much brighter.

*kachink-foom*
the cannon's fairing released itself, hitting the ground, revealing an unharmed barrel beneath. the point of the fairing, of course, was to provide a physical shield against such things. Between battles it can be easily replaced while keeping the cannon proper safe. However, the barrel now was noticeably exposed.
"You're not the first navi to try that, nor will you be the last." Longinus said toward Challenger. He remained in position to strike anyone, but there was a clear dichotomy forming.
The cannon's charge continued to grow. Longinus made no remark on the barriers that rose between him and Challenger. He was actually a bit relieved, as it would mean that the others would be more likely to stand down. But given the nature of this weapon... they wouldn't do anything to protect against its blast, sadly, as its effects made it more than capable at piercing through such defenses, and the sheer size of the blast could bypass through even the largest obstacles to hit many enemies.
"My job is to clear the area. You can either leave and come back when I'm done, or you can stay and suffer the consequences. My client wants you all gone for the time being. I'm giving you the option to protect yourselves." He spoke calmer now. He knew their client was big, but was the client big enough to deal with all of these guys? Longinus wasn't sure, and he knew that alone he might take out one or two but not the entire group. "Given what that other navi has been saying..." Longinus nodded toward Jin. "If you stay, with or without me things could get bad. It's in everyone's best interest to leave the area. I'm not your enemy, I'm just doing my job. If you leave, we can all go home for the time being until this blows over. But if you stay, like I said, I'm not responsible for what might happen."

B.o.B. raised its hand up in a kind of 'shushing motion' then placed its right arm on the top of the tower. Command Order-Break Creating a small hole beneath it B.o.B. slid quietly into the interior data of the tower. Deftly tunneling bellow the gun navi. The trap was set and all B.o.B. had to do was set it off. Placing its hand bellow the opponent B.o.B. deleted the ground beneath his feat sending him down a shoot out the opposite side of the tower.

As the gun toting navi busied himself with challenger and Bob, Jin came up behind him and made to smack him upside the head with the butt of his pistol.
"ENOUGH!"
And Jin HAD had enough of the constant arguing.
"Now then, I am going to be very clear. Either get out of here and face the real threat. I won't lie. This won't be easy. We are going into an unstable network. So you had best be sure that you have enough juice to sustain yourselves if you follow along. It will be dark in there, and who knows what we might face. Still, the decision is up to you."
Having said his peace, Jin walked off towards what was once the shell network.

The commotion was growing quite unbearable. MirrorMan had stood by long enough without doing anything, and now he had an idea. He stands a bit taller and makes his presence known.
"Hey, all of you!" he shouts just loud enough for them to hear, but not forcefully.
"Remember that message we all were forced to see?"
He was referring, of course, to that strange message.
"This world needs heroes. Gather points by killing. Seek the Truth, and ye shall find."
"Seems to me that someone who would make us see that would want something just like what's happening here to start happening. Chaos, disorder, that sort of thing."
"That last bit, "Seek the Truth, and ye shall find." I think we should do what that says. I say we put all this aside and work together to find whoever sent this message."
His plan out on the table, Mirror stood firm waiting for a reply.

What a fool, this gunner was. Such a misguided prospect, simply to scare away navis with a threat. It worked for some, but few often heeded the warnings of others. Defiance was a much more common trait here on the Net. He knew Challenger would not be fazed by the display this navi was having, but it was still a problem regardless. The navi's weapon had certainly shown some impressive power, however it was weak in comparison to some other things he had seen. Flashy mostly, but Phenoix could not quite speak on that subject. Hovering in the air about equal in level to the vantage point of the gunner and Challenger, Phenoix rose up into the air. He was only just reaching his peak point of flight that he realized that another navi of the group had tunneled below the platform Longinus was standing upon, opening a hole in the panel and leaving him to fall below.
Convenient, at the least, leaving the navi's gun, while still charging, unattended. Phenoix brought his hand forth with his two fingers extended, a point of light emanating from the tips. He traced a rune in the air before motioning his arm down. from the sky came a massive blade of a yellow light, easily larger in width than most navis and far longer than could be expected of a normal weapon. the blade came down, cutting the massive weapon cleaning in two, through all its secondary systems. Even on the off chance the navi himself were to react to the hole opening up on him, the blade would still cut into the navi's weapon, throughly destroying it.
But there was still the problem with the charge as it grew, destroying the weapon at that point would obviously cause the energy to simply burst out. Just as the massive blade pierced the gun, a cube engulfed it of transparent yellow light, containing the resulting release of energy with no trouble. Phenoix had no full intention of getting in the way of Challenger, but this navi was becoming troublesome. Phenoix landed next to the one who not moments ago gave him a knuckle to the jaw.
"He should learn to stop threatening and underestimating those beyond his capabilities. He's all yours infighter. We should discuss what the other one was yelling about when you're done. Its possible what he said was true, corruption may be spreading."
Phenoix was thankful however that someone understood, having heard beneath him another navi saying what he had been trying to say for some time. Descending from the building, he left Longinus to the boxer. As he touched down on the ground level, he approached MirrorMan, glad to have someone see the whole picture.
"It has been a long time MirrorMan, it is good to see someone not so engrossed in conflict that they can see the big picture. Indeed that was what I set out to do, gather those of like minds to seek this truth, and hopefully prevent a massacre that could only prove to fuel whatever creature decided to enact this terrible contest. Unfortunately, I feel the one that had the massive weapon is not aware enough of the situation, too focused on a mission of sorts. As much as I dislike it, the boxer will likely communicate the situation to him better than I can. So long as no one gets deleted, I don't think we'll have a problem. But never mind that, tell me, how have you been? Haven't seen you in a good ten years, not since our encounter with Eon I think."
