--Appearance:
Joseph looks like overcooked bacon. His face is gristled and lean, and he is often quiet. He's a veteran soldier. As such, he clearly walks with some training, though his lack of combat experience has let him get relaxed after battle. He's in his mid-20s, but with wrinkles that look a decade older than he really is, and eyes that are weary of this mortal world.
--Personality:
Unlike Longinus, Joseph can be very overbearing and domineering. He is easily angered and constantly strives for more knowledge and power, with an unbound ambition. Longinus is his weapon to achieve what he wants, and their relationship reflects that, with Joseph often hiding details of their missions that would possibly prevent Longinus from attacking as best as he could. It is also clear that Joseph doesn't respect position or rank, and judges individuals on their personal strength and cunning.
--Background:
An ex-military mechanic, he was used to maintaining networks for communications usage in warfare. No longer in service, he found himself maddened by the prospect of a safe, civilian life, and became a privateer netbattler, using his knowledge of intel and networks to his advantage. He has close ties to many corporations and governments that require him to take on clandestine jobs, and his connections in the military provided him with the experimental weapon-based navi, Longinus, named after the soldier who pierced Jesus Christ with his spear. Joseph uses Longinus as needed to further is power and position towards the greatest network mercenary in the world.

--Appearance:
Longinus looks like a cross between a soldier and a knight. Dark grey body armor covers his body, along with a helmet with a bright orange visor. Underneath the armor, he looks somewhat normal, if not a little on the small size for a navi. His left side is dominated by a massive set of armor plates and mechanical components that appear to be a part of a massive cannon weapon as long as he is tall. His right side holds a large square shield that takes up equally as much space.
This armor appears when he enters combat.
On close inspection, the cannon is divided into 4 parts. The first is the fairing, which is an armored heat shield over the barrel and mid-section of the cannon, and it retracts to form shoulder and leg armor (the top half rests on his shoulder, the bottom on his knee). The second is the barrel, which is mounted on his arm and disconnects into two parts, one on the upper and one on the lower arm. When the arm is straightened, the two parts can lock in place. The third is the firing mechanism, which is a large box attached to a scope that slides into place over his visor, which extends down over his left hand for the trigger. The final part is the cooling mechanism, which is a set of glowing tubes, fins, and fans that expel excess energy out the back of the cannon during recoil. They look like a cross between red-hot radiator fins and tesla coils.
Occassionally, jets of heat and electricity will spark from the cooling mechanism when he's ready for battle, and even idling there is always a palpable heat and energy enemating from the rear cooling section of the cannon. When charging the cannon, this energy can cause damage to the net around him.
Behind his calves are two sections that extend spikes into the net beneath him, locking him into place when he charges.

Longinus is usually quiet and reserved, but in combat he can be direct and calculating. He tends to put all of his eggs into a single basket, so to say, with his plans and attacks. Otherwise, he views the world in a very black and white way, with his clear goals as white and the goals of his enemies as, clearly black.
In combat he can be a bit .... volatile. He seems to lack all notion of a temper, but becomes easily excited at the prospect of firing successfully at an enemy. He lives for the opportunity to cut down foes with a single shot.

He was created as an infiltration navi designed to blast through strong defenses for a local net police force. After a series of failed assignments, he was sold second-hand to an ambitious privateer. Since then he's been working as a solo infiltrator and mercenary for the privateer who purchased him. He gets a cut of the rewards as long as he gets the job done right, regardless of collateral damage.

The beams it fires move as fast as light, tearing through the net easily. They can be equated to a wide, circular and concentrated bolt of lightning, but they do not deviate from their path.
