Nightwind glared for a moment at AirMan. Such an insult... but it stemmed from a misunderstanding. He let it go for the moment, but his voice was still stern and slightly angry. "His army is not a factor. All he brought here are grunts and colonists. His true forces are powerful and bold. I should know. I was a part of them for decades." Getting that out of his system calmed him a bit... he supposed he might as well answer the question, though there was still no guarantee he was on the same side as his new master. He would keep it vague.
"...and yes. Lord Samhain has taken great measures, as always, to ensure that his dark and evil influence cannot be purged. This colony cannot be cleansed, repaired, or disinfected. You will see soon."

*AirMan's eyes spark at Nightwind's words... this information was interesting to say the least*
AirMan: Ho-HO! So sorry then, I was not aware.... it would appear that we're far better off in this little squabble than seems obvious!

Opera is caught off guard, but realizes what she must do.
Opera: Um... I'm not even technically designed for combat, but what systems I do have only really work in one versus one. If I had root-level access to the server, then I might be able to just nuke the whole place, but that seems silly seeing that they're planning on returning to backup anyways, so... Bye!

Jinko pops up again, just like the last time this happened.
Jinko: Guess I'll go make sure she doesn't get deleted. Don't really like her much, but it'd be a shame if she got permanently deleted.
With that, he followed after Opera.

[glow=white,2,500]*Embera nodded at the news before turning to Xion with a rather disappointed look on her face. Shaking her hands, she cracked her knuckles before speaking in a rather sarcastic, non-chalant tone.*
Embera: Well, seeing as I have business to attend to, I do suppose I would be breaching my agreement with a certain group if I am to stay and die forever. Xion, I will see you, hopefully when this is over to discuss business.
*Giving a nod, she gave a false-friendly salute before she turned to Finalii, signalling him to follow.*[/glow]

*The windows pop up once again, revealing KnightMan to those in the area*
KnightMan: The Navi known as Embera has surrendered herself to our custody. As per my word, she shall be spared and tried under Creamland law, not ONB law. I once again plead with you; please surrender yourselves now. You have one hour, then we shall run the server's backups. Please make the correct choice.

*Xion shook his head, he was pretty sure his words went right over Jinko's head. Opera... well, he would assume by chance would come out fine. Though he supposed he didn't care enough for that matter either. So rather than a lacking army that could be overwhelmed much like it had been during the original invasion, they had something that was probably more useful? Interesting information indeed.*
"That sounds like it'd be fun to see how it turns out. Do you think they'll just give up because of it though? We wouldn't even get to greet them for their hospitalities though."
*He had mixed feelings on that. If only because he'd have to find KnightMan later to get to the armored guy. He would say 'armored menace', but that was probably reserved for the other guy in armor who liked wrecking stuff. Then again it'd mean no army to fight too if they just outright left, so he figured it would be better to do this as they always had. It wouldn't hurt to be on the safe side of this anyway, he knew his limits... occasionally. An hour sounded like a nice amount of time then. He supposed that if the worst that came to, he could see how the law liked him. Ha, right.*
"An hour... well, I'd rather go and say hi anyway instead of feigning ignorance to the messages here."
*He'd like to see what Nightwind meant exactly, so the time that passed would be important of course since he had to 'wait and see'. The darkness steadily rose up, Xion striking his own self suddenly. As he did, the darkness started to take shape, resembling himself now. With that, it went off to the wall, Xion himself staying behind for now and letting it go to do its work.*

[bgcolor=black]1 second past the shutdown. Where there was once network, now only darkness lies.
3 seconds past. As the reboot commences, networks all across Creamland go black, separated devices cease functioning (and in necessary cases, slow to a halt), communications cut out, endless experiments are ground to stop at great expense to the nation, videofeeds of national news are locked from broadcasting their doomsaying the world over, airtraffic control switches to remote systems... silence pervades the air over the island nation but for a single helicopter's barely audible thrumming as it makes its landing outside the wall. People patiently stare into their devices wondering, "How soon will it come back?" Internet boards begin flooding with complaints of potential delay, lag, schedule interruption, and threats of boycott - everybody operates on their own time.
5 seconds past. Elsewhere, in a server room far underground, a group of men overlook massive geothermal and hydro generators, while another group of men lays unconscious upon the floor. The generators, by this time, have been working at full capacity for exactly 30 seconds after finishing their 30 minute warm-up period. The networkless intercom continues chiming desperately as it had been since the last check up 15 minutes ago. The Tempest guards continue to receive no response from their generator room.
Did you know? The energy required to hold the entirety of a backup ready and set for a switch-out with the nigh infinite space of another network far exceeds that of normal generators, and so each country long ago created an easy-maintenance version of this room - just in case.
It's clear that these men are here for energy... but for what purpose?
9 seconds. Far away, as observant eyes adjust, there are lights. Distant networks, once connected to this void, now hanging in midair. The illusion of reality has been dashed away as though you had entered the core of the network itself. Navis gather in hordes by the bridges to the Creamland network, hoping to catch a glimpse of something in the void.
Rumors speak of a place beyond the bounds of the known net: the place where no navi can travel. What this place is is only speculated, but Duo is cited as proof that other networks exist, and that given apt proximity one might bridge the gap through... through what? Waves in the physical world? Research on Waves turned to other, more practical applications long ago.
Those that stared into the void did not gaze upward nor think to focus in that direction. If they had, one might have noticed an object, about navi-sized, floating high above the border.
13 seconds. A man in the generator room smiles, leans on the railing. He flicks a cigarette into the waters below. Another punches him in the shoulder and gestures toward the door. Somebody's banging.
The helicopter touches down, and the men inside are arguing loudly over the quiet "Whup whup whup" of the chopper blades. The door opens, an empty cup rolls out onto the helipad. Several well-dressed Tempest-men hurry to the side and stand at attention.
An angry navi waiting at the edge of the network idly kicks a stone into the intangible barrier cutting the space off. Against all logic, it passes through and falls...
Sixteen seconds of downtime. 41 seconds and 473 milliseconds past the initiation of the generators:
SYSTEM RESTORED The server turns back on. Nothing has changed that was already there... not visibly. Nothing at all. All navis stand exactly as they were, all viruses, programs, auxiliary functions, and data bits are exactly as they were when the network went down. The colony and the surrounding area felt even more charged with energy, but... it could have just been the reboot. - As was expected, the network is not gone, nor are any within. However, those having had a sense for the nature of Samhain's protection understand that this is not what was expected. Across the colony grounds, glitched data floats upward from the ground, the darkness that permeated the air is now heavy enough as to be oppressive, and heads among the colonists turn gradually upward, toward the apparent attractor of the data. Up in the sky... mystery data? A rotating octahedron begins its descent through the sky, a strange object splattered by a thousand hues and suffering from the muddying effects from the display, and because of this appearing simultaneously flawless in construction and rotten to the core. It pulses with energy unlike any anyone in its presence have felt before, yet appears to be typical data. Slowly, meticulously, it makes its way to the courtyard below where the navis stand/sleep. The flowing glitches begin to bend inward, warping the space around the mystery data and tugging the surrounding navis inward, slowly and insistently. The air around them sparks with angry intensity. Mysterious Data? Huh? ^4#n-t 8e t4ch3k3N, Eu2t be 4<<3sz36 on 7' zp07 or l=f7 83h!#d.I|= xxu d4re 2 uz3, 70v<h + t!9e <Access?>? -

[...WHAT THE HELL. WHY NOT. Not entirely sure what it says, but I can understand some.]
Syn still stands idle. Until, that is, the reboot made itself known, the Reaper opening his eyes slightly. This was it then. He could handle this then, fading in the dark. It was an end he expected. Awaiting what was to come, the Navi of the blacken flames was more than surprise when the reboot and went and... nothing had changed. Something which brought more apprehension than if something did change. Except, however, a strange new data floating in the area... A bit that held some essence to it, which inexplicable held the Reaper captivated. "That's... not a particularly good sign is it...?" He murmurs, gazing at it curiously. What... what was it? From the reboot? From whatever had overtaken Creamland?
Whatever it was, it was probably what KnightMan had not intended to happen. Which was a plus on their part. But not entirely something that would help in the long run. But... Walking over to it, the scythe-user held a bit of hesitance, wondering whether he should or not. With a glance back at Xion, he then shrugged. For this last ride then, he would see what would occur from this choice. Reaching out, he touched the data and began to access it. No point in standing idle anymore. In a way... It was a bit more frightening to just stand there, doing nothing as it slowly tugged at them anyhow. Time to see what, then, this bit of action would bring about.
<Access?>?
[This is probably not gonna go good. ...OH WELL 8D.]

The body of a certain navi flinched a bit, stirring from his unconscious slumber.
'Ugh...how long was I out...?' he ponders to himself, shaking his head.
Climbing to his feet, the events of the not too distant past raced through his mind - the arrival of an intruder, their assault against Samhain's forces, and their utter defeat.
"Hm...that's right." he said to himself,as if only just now recollecting the results...but as he looked around he blinked in astonishment. No darkness. No evil-looking creatures roaming around...and a somewhat warped piece of data...that someone was accessing!
He was about to call out to the Reaper-like navi, but caught himself. Hopefully, this wasn't a trap...

[Have to love when you do things like that Shinn. Because that was lawl still.]
*Shaking off the effects of the reboot, he had felt everything coming back to him now. That was... well, he supposed 'intriguing' worked for a summary of it. But he understood right away that this wasn't right, quickly looking around himself. There were glitches all about, and if that wasn't already a sign that something had wrong, the oppressive darkness made up the rest of it.*
"What the..."
*Having his attention drawn much like the creatures from the Dark Dimension that were now denizens of Creamland, he saw where it was gathering. That mysterious data of far too many hues, an appearance that helped in its flawless, yet vile design. It had a power that wasn't intoxicating at all... more than it was more powerful than anything else that he had seen up until now, and even he had to wonder what could be inside of it if that was so. It felt like it was tugging at him, eyes going to Syn as the Reaper made his way to the data. For him not considering it a good sign and going up to access it anyway, he could say was a trait that was lacking in pretty much everyone else. Was that good or bad? He was not sure. It was insistent, and yet the air itself seemed like it was sparking from a furious intensity...*
"Guess we'll see in a bit then."
*There was a saying about being curious, but who wouldn't want to know what was inside of that freakish right there? If it WAS a trap, then... well, it wouldn't matter by that point, now would it?*

Xyzillentz and Nightwind both gazed out of the castle doors at the courtyard into which Syn had walked. Xyzillentz was smiling - he assumed this was part of Samhain's plot. Even if it were not, he assumed it would at least be exciting.
Nightwind, on the other hand was perplexed. He thought aloud as he studied this mysterious object. "Strange... Samhain's backup is not designed to work this way. Their backups should have run, with his activating from my gold crest when it detected their attempts. His should have overriden theirs, but there's usually a delay." He squinted, a sure sign of his mind running. "Xion has a duplicate crest, so perhaps together they worked faster or instantly. But that still doesn't explain this data."

[bgcolor=black] In a bit? No. The effect is immediate, but insubstantial to the onlookers. The Mysterious Data ceases its rotations at Syn's touch, and then he is frozen in place. All that can be sensed is static, a prickling sensation along the artificial epidermis that could be likened to something crawling all over one's body. The glitches continue manifesting on the ground, in the air, within the very armor of those nearby and as they near and begin encircling the Mysterious Data, they almost begin to take on the appearance of... eyes? Their orbits are erratic, almost panicked, creating a sphere of intangible data around the frozen Syn and his intended prize.
