The snow melted into a slush around Xyzillentz; the steamy gasses he emitted were warm from his body heat. His suit came in handy in this weather, serving as a thick insulating layer to keep him comfortably toasty. His stench wafted up from his vents, floating on higher towards the innocent moon hidden by the clouds. Along the way it poisoned and shriveled the pines on the trees around him, turning their vibrant green hues a pale, rusted brown and causing them to wither helplessly, dropping snow on the already well-coated ground.
His path was thus clearly marked; both his numerous footprints and the odd hills of piled precipitation were left in his wake. Were someone following him, their job would be all too easy...
Xyzillentz wasn't terribly concerned about that, but he was in need of something - anything - to break up the monotony. So he jumped from where he was standing onto a nearby tree trunk and shimmied upwards, even as the weakened spines of the plant dropped their load on him in protest. He clung to the trunk for no more than a moment.
Without hesitation, he leapt to an adjacent trunk, and then another, and another, chaining together jumps and putting distance between him and his tracks. After a dozen or so, he dropped to the ground, at least ten yards from where he had begun. This minor diversion over with, he continued his solitary trek through the woods to some destination unknown. If only it would snow, he thought. If only there were a blizzard with winds to race and snowflakes to dance between, and hell-frozen rain to pound some excitement into this tedious timberland.
But his wish went unfulfilled, and his feet kept pace.

[glow=white,2,500]*Through the darkness, a light could be seen through all of the forest. The dank, midnight air refreshed itself immediately as if the surrounding growth were revitalized. All from one girl, did this beacon of life, of hope, appear, and slowly fade as she moved.*
Embera: tsk tsk...It's a bit gloomy bringing life and leaving death...Only one thing to do...
*Embera knelt down, and bowed her head. Sensing the locale of the stars. It was difficult to know exactly where to aim. She smiled when she estimated her destination, she held her hand up, and proceeded with an incantation.*
Embera: Through the murk that clouds out light, and darkness shrouding with unholy might. Let the lunar bands be cut and undone, and arise, bright Piece, with the light of the Sun!!!
*Just then, Embera thrust her arm skyward, and a small yellow orb flew high before bursting into the night, broadening overhead into with a high-noon light. The clouds immediately thinned out as the pure heat, radiating from the Sun Piece further evaporated the clouds into thinner air. The new daylight sky shown bright, and revealed a slender man in Embera's field of vision.*
Embera: My my...what brings you into this frigid part of the net, young man?[/glow]

Xyzillentz might have been compelled to shield his eyes were it not for his visor. He did, however, let out a sigh of frustration at the sudden illumination. Before him stood a strange woman, her actions as unwelcome as her presence.
"Exploration. I'm wandering the net searching for places that leave an impression on me. All I'd liked about this one was that it was dark and isolated - and now we can just strike both of those, can't we?"
A thinly-veiled undercurrent of anger was evident in his tone. On most occasions, Xyz would have taken the time to compliment her looks or inquire about her abilities. Unfortunately for all involved, this interloper had caught him in a very unpleasant mood. He pointed straight at her.
"And it's one hell of an assumption to say I'm a young man before you've seen anything under my suit. You hadn't even heard me speak yet."
The poisonous prowler paused for a moment before continuing, a small smirk concealed by his helmet. "You really couldn't know unless you've been stalking me. Are you the type of woman who obsesses over young men? Desperate for companionship? Because if so, a tamed virus works much better."
Turning away from the bright bombshell, he crossed his arms and bent one knee, holding his head high and speaking loudly so that he could be heard. "There's also the chance you showed up here just to piss me off, in which case you've been successful and should leave now."
He slumped over against a tree stump as if reclining, turning his head over his shoulder so he could see who he was addressing out of one eye. His hand waved dismissively, as if batting away a mildly annoying gnat. "Or maybe you're only an innocent bystander who wandered into my path by chance, in which case I'll hold no grudge against you and will probably be much more... inviting... next time we meet. Although for now..."
Xyz stood up and turned the rest of the way around, walking in closer to the bizarre new girl. "...I'd still advise you to leave me alone and be on your merry little way. For both our sakes."
Xyzillentz began walking around the sentient obstacle that had found its way in front of him, continuing his moderate pace through the forest and on to nowhere.

[glow=white,2,500] *Embera laughed lightly at how instantaneously offended the little whelp was.*
Embera: Ya got me. I was following you around for some time now...bah, who am I kidding? I was trekking through this gloom and I decided to shed a little light on the area...Unfortunatly, I ended up shedding light on you. But if you want...
*Embera spit at his snide comment about companionship. The small droplet ignited at her feet. He had no idea who he was messing with. With nothing but a whistle, a green Spikey materialized in front of her, and jumped clean over both her and Xyzillentz, growling at the slender navi.*
Embera: I can put you back in the dark where you belong...[/glow]

Oh great, she was STILL here? Why couldn't this self-righteous little girl leave him alone? He had to admit the virus was a cute little thing, but it was obviously set against him as well and would need to be dealt with. He wasn't looking forward to the battle, but if it would get this chick to shut up, he'd do what he had to.
Xyz scoffed and shook his head, thoroughly unimpressed. "Was that supposed to sound threatening, dearie? Because it came across more like a bad one-liner from a direct-to-video action flick. You're gonna need some acting and improv classes before you try that again. Or you could just seal your pretty little mouth shut and solve the problem permanently."
The stripes on the back of Xyzillentz' suit glowed a gleaming green, projecting duplicates of themselves formed of pure energy. The frustrated fighter took hold of them, grasping them on one end like whips. In a flash, he lashed out at his enemies. The whip in his left hand was sent hurtling towards Embera, the other flew towards her viral companion. He simultaneously shot a green blast from his visor directly at the girl's midsection, hoping for a double whammy.

Week-long forfeit. Billy told me to take the EXP/Zenny for an A rating, so...
68 EXP / 680z to Xyzillentz (45 / 450 plus 1.5x Resource bonus).
I dunno what rating he thinks he should take, so I guess he'll have to do his own math...
