Deav's hand is placed on Edge, causing the shining green Navi to look up with a puzzled and somewhat unsure expression.
Edge: Yeah, I'm not exactly the touchy-feely tyOHGODBADTOUCHTHISHURTSSO-
And, with that, Edge is gone.
...late, as always. On the outskirts of the area, a small, gold and blue Navi runs in, his entire body encased in a gray aura of almost otherworldly effect. He moves swiftly and reaches the battlefield, looking up at Deav with an obvious fear in his eyes. However, this fear does not hold him back... he sees it, his one potential niche. In spite of his desire to run, he runs up behind one of the Navis standing against the Reever King, the one firing his blaster like a mad-man, and does his best to grab his attention.
Unity: Excuse me! I don't mean to interrupt, but will you please allow me to help you?

Finale smiled at the Reaverking's recognition of his rank.
But then stumbled backwards as the scythe struck out and around, falling downwards, onto the same building as Aeon and now the one with the rings floating around.
"You? Help me?" Finale said, looking around to see if there was any others Unity was asking to help. It seemed not.
"Hit it." he said, nodding.

Unity nods as Finale agrees. No time to explain, so he puts a hand onto the viral Navi's shoulder, causing him to become momentarily paralyzed as the sequence begins. Unity's gray aura expands and grows opaque, engulfing both he and Finale, and then shrinks back down a moment later, beams with a bright flash, and reveals itself as transparent again with only one figure where two once stood. Standing before Deav is Finale, but with his armor now colored a bright, shining golden tone with dark blue trim and Unity's gray aura spinning in place around him. The change isn't overly drastic, but it goes far deeper than appearances, as would soon become apparent.
Unity: Alright...
Unity's voice resounds with an echo obviously originating from Finale's body
Unity: You're now running via proxy on my OS. Your processing will be much faster, and your offensive and defensive powers will also rise. Also, double-check your skills and attacks, as this also gave you access to everything that I currently have access to. Hopefully this will give you an edge, so go for it!

Khepri.EXE Suddenly, the previously boring activity (or lack thereof) in Kotobuki was obliterated in a sudden change of events.
As the events whirled on in such a fast manner, Khepri felt the world around him slow down, as and felt himself as only a simple bystander. Whatever speed he may have, and whatever help he may have been, was useless. A new comer came, and fought back any attempt to grab at the scythe. A man came and claimed his loyalty to this Juno character, before they were destroyed. Navis rushed all around him, as a sort of darkness took hold of the network. A new sort of evil came down from someone he thought an ally, and did what they could to rush for power and control. Fulgar continued his own efforts in stopping Deav, as did the others. However, the leisurely time the Reaver was having was suddenly interrupted by someone who claimed themselves as the Viral King. . .and, then, a mass deletion took place as the man reclaimed his weapon. The latest events happened to be a sweet exploding, causing a sugared forest to appear all around the normally dark place, and, finally, a large rock fell from the sky. A very large rock. Thankfully, no one was hurt - by either the explosion (at least, not that he could tell), or the big rock.
He had no idea that the rock was actually a Navi, but, obliviousness is bliss.
Almost as quickly as the darkness took the Network, it was dismissed. Now, Fulgar was a broken remnant of his former self, the lightning Navi was only barely moving, the dark Navi was only barely alive, the Viral King was going head-to-head with Deav, and Khepri was still on his useless building.
He growled. He was tired of taking the back seat, and watching as so many people were slaughtered for this Navi's apparent fun. He wasn't a very strong Navi, but, strength could also come in numbers. He would utilize his ability, and his will, to protect others. . .and utilize his power in the best way possible.
Instead of continuing his journey up the building, he instead did a series of jumps off of the stalks of pink candy that had rooted themselves in the otherwise dreary Network. He studied them deeply as he jumped, trying to see what sort of use they would have in their plight. Everything happened for a reason. . .
By the time he had reached his destination, he had yet to find his answer. So, he pushed those thoughts into the back of his mind, and simply walked until he was behind Deav. In front of Deav was the Viral King. He could only hope that Deav kept his attention on the 'King.'
He had been steadily launching bolts of solar energy at Deav, and, this time was no different. He raised his crook and, once again, used his most reliable attack: Capturing solar energy in the crook, he spun the staff around before launching it at him.

"I see..." It was a new type of power to be able to run on a proxy. It was... unparalleled. With his stolen body now filled with energy, Finale's creeping wounds healed rapidly, the unhinging of his being reconstituted. He could run at even higher power than before, his regeneration and strength redoubled. He stared down Deav, his vicious smile widening. "VIRAL SECOND!" He said, his silver-gold aura growing even stronger than before, his luminescence growing to match that of the sun. "Do you really think you can challenge me, Deav? Even now? Villain, after what you've done here, today, I'll show you no mercy." Finale taunted, standing in place.

Deav stood, eyes locked and face unfliching, as Finale and Unity formed their new abilities. To one side of him, a former meal inched toward him. The air about him freezing and falling visibly around him. In a final lunge Kidd reached for Deav, but just before he could grab him, froze timeless in space. Undone by his own powers to reach absolute zero. To his other side, a bolt of solar energy rocketed toward the ReaverKing. However just as it was about to connect, the energy seemed to be absorbed, no detonation on the shot at all. It would seem that similar to Finale, Deav also radiated some sort of aura, though his was invisible to the naked eye. Stepping forward to meet his new meal, Deav simply stood waiting for the Viral King to come at him. The tune which encompassed the network as Finale took on his new form changed. He would not be outdone by this foolish upstart. Food should stay as it is, waiting for consumption by the greater beings. "How about we do this just you and me, without any of these nuisances bothering us."A tap on the ground by Deav's scythe as a wave radiated out from the point of impact. In an instant, all but Finale fused with Unity and Deav remained. A cage match as it were. The beginning of the ReaverKing's reign. ALL NAVIS EXCEPT FINALE AND DEAV ARE EXPELLED FROM THE NETWORK. NETWORK LOCKED BOTH IN AND OUT UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

The two stood staring each other down for what seemed like an eternity. Each waiting for the other to make the first move. But over time, Deav began to notice, the so called "Viral King" seemed to have been done in by his own power. Corrupted data growing stronger isn't always a good thing. Even Unity couldn't stop Finale from becoming frozen thanks to his own flawed composition.
Stepping up a phantom staircase, Deav slowly ascended to become face to face with his would-be opponent. A defiant look plastered Finale's frozen face, one Deav really did not care for. He thought of devouring him too, but it would merely be to prove a point. Walking around to Finale's Backside, a single sharp nail was brandished as Deav slowly cut down the back of Finale's neck.
"Ya'know kid, we could have had a lot of fun. But here you are, frozen to your own power."
As the rip in Finale's data widened, a look into his inner workings became more clear. The Unity OS kept amplifying his data pathways, but broken pathways are still broken no matter how you enhance them. All the constant signals jumbled up as they were just wouldn't let him do anything it seemed. Reaching and grasping his hand around the Unity OS, Deav leaned in next to Finale, whispering into the lifeless navi's ear, though he knew Finale wouldn't year.
"But you see here... You made one fatal mistake above all else."
And with a mighty tug, Deav ripped from Finale the Unity OS, a source of great power unlike any other. But powerless to do anything in his state of simply an enhancement program. Holding it within his hand, Deav brought the Unity OS up to his face, and with a surge of golden light and shades of darkness intermixed, plunged the program into his eyes. Merging it with his Reaver Eye, even as Unity undoubtedly fought back.
In a short time the energy which spewed forth from the otherworldly fusion subsided, and around Deav's Reaver Eyes did a faint golden glow outline. Taking the power when it was most vulnerable, Deav had gained access to a source of energy he only dreamed of being able to get. As he righted himself once again, Finale's data streams returned to their original function and likely found himself able to move once more. Deav looked down on him from on high as his Scythe tapped the air with the same sound which expelled the others before. His smile finally returned in full force.
"You are not the main character here."
With those final words, Deav enveloped himself in his dark tendrils and vanished. Taking Unity with him.

A bright green flash and a pop exploded infront of Finale. Light but no heat or force came from the occurrence, but instead someone stood there arms crossed and head shaking.
In a calm, but angered tone:
Simply brilliant your Viral Majesty.
Electric green eyes glowered at Finale while their owner made steps to circle the Viral King. Activities in Kotobuki ceased as he spoke, resuming briefly in between each of his breaths, but not long enough.
With no forethought, you haphazardly forfeited "Possibility" to "Death", and for that...
He trailed off as his left hand glowed a faint green for just a moment, leaving a small translucent glass bead in his left hand.
Balance shall bestow to you the opportunity possess Eternity for all Eternities.
Using his thumb, he flicked the bauble into the gaping hole into Finale's back. His tone changing to a happier and menacing one as he spoke now into his ear.
Every "King" needs a castle. I've got a wonderful sand one for you just up there!
He pointed to the sky with his index finger. The rings around each of his fingers glowed softly as he did so.
All you have to do is click your heels Dorothy, and you can stay there forever.
Three times should suffice.
There's someone else up there too...sometimes. He could use some company. Just tell him Li sent you.
Another pop and he was gone.

"What harm could come of it? By this point, I've already failed again..."
*click*
Turn to the sky. Raindrops at his feet. Though it wasn't cloudy. It wasn't raining in Kotobuki.
*click*
What a storm.
Then a sudden hesitation. Palpitations. Permutations. What awaits?
It didn't matter.
"It's time for you to go."
A push, a shove, a trip.
*click*
Gone?

...a vigil; is that all that remains? What is one who has a sole purpose to do when that purpose is taken? And what then if it's taken twice?
Kotobuki had always been a strange place; devoid of life most of the time, which was fine for one Navi who walks the glitched streets. A normally stoic figure now wavers, unsure of what to do next. No sign of a greater goal had made itself known for so long now, and without those goals....
....the figure silently sighs, feeling nothing but the turmoil of a lack of purpose and unresolved goals; neither of which could be fulfilled now.
The Navi walks silently through the shadows, contemplating what to do next...

StrifeMan.EXE
The towering spires, upside-down walk ways and stark desolation of the Kotobuki Network had always appealed to him. There was only one other place like it in the entire Net; sadly, StrifeMan was forbidden to go there, without Shin.
His NetOp knows about his nighttime adventures out into the Net. Most of what StrifeMan accomplished was without Shin - the boy has one fatal flaw that rises above his horrible bad luck, and that was his need for sleep. StrifeMan can't sleep, though. The melodious, screaming wails and blissful agony that haunted him ensured of that. So, when night falls, and Shin falls beneath the covers, StrifeMan makes his way through the Net to this beautiful network, filled with echoes of agony and despair, desolation and isolation.
Usually, though, on his night trips through the net, he used the Katobuki Network as a way between from Shin's PET to wherever else it was he wanted to go. Tonight, things were different.
Tonight, there was someone else sharing the glitched pathways with him.
His curiosity piqued, StrifeMan follows the call of the pain, despair and loss of hope. Leaping from one spire to the next, using his accursed strength to propel himself through the air, the fiendish netnavi finds the target of his interest.
The navi is below him, shadows blocking any distinctive features from his view. It doesn't matter, though. StrifeMan doesn't need to see him - he can feel his pain, hear his despair, smell his hopelessness, taste his turmoil. His senses were alive and buzzing at the stimulation from the pure torture the Navi below him was experiencing. His white, wolfish grin and crimson eyes the only break in the shadows around him, StrifeMan leaps from his perch, feeling the agonizing pain rippling through his muscles as he exerts his power, and he revels in the pain.
Landing almost silently behind the Navi, he straightens himself as much as his intense, invisible burdens would allow him, his eyes wrought with despair. His grin doesn't quite right match the rest of his haggard, pain-stricken face.
"Heheh," he wheezes, laughing, puffs of smoke and splutters of blood and other liquids on his acrid breath. "I know a thing or two about pain and loss . . . despair and hopelessness. Some would say it was a sign of weakness to allow those things to burden you," StrifeMan chastises, shaking his head and tsking for effect.
"A Navi wallowing in depression makes an easy target . . . easy prey . . . for those that go bump in the night. Wouldn't you agree?"

The Navi stops for a moment, a fist clenching in the short-lived silence that falls. He can feel a spark in his chest at this Navi's words; a spark he'd not felt for a while now...
?: Some serve their sorrows, others enslave their sorrows to serve them
The Navi glances back with a stone-cold red eye, making it very clear that StrifeMan's dark words and nature bare no weight or intimidation. Behind this gaze, the same burning spark that was lit just moments before burns silently and dimly.
?: Give me reason to demonstrate.

This was different. Under normal circumstances, those given such a warning would barrel head-first into battle... but this Navi's continued silence speaks more than he could know.
?: ....
With a far calmer demeanor than before, the Navi turns his head back to his path and continues to walk forward, leaving StrifeMan to himself without incident.

StrifeMan.EXE
[OOC: Terribly sorry. I was very busy yesterday, and had school today. I am only just getting to this.]
StrifeMan remains silent, knowing that silence speaks volumes. Lowering his head and hooding his eyes, he regards the shadow-shrouded Navi with caution. Something about them . . . Strifeman is certain that the Navi has a good idea of their own power, meaning that outright attacking the Navi might not be the smartest move.
Unfortunately for him, he gave some tells of irritation - clinching his fists, a spark of something bright deep down, almost buried beneath the roiling darkness within them. Just as the Navi turned to walk away, StrifeMan lurched forward to remain just behind him, shadowing the Navi without confrontation.
StrifeMan is brave; stupid, he is not. If he ran head-first into combat, this Navi won. Instead . . . he'd force the possibly stronger Navi to throw the first punch.
"Oh-he-he," he coughs out, grinning just at the edge of his vision. "You cannot tell me anything I do not already know about "enslaving" my sorrows . . . you pathetic whelp," he finishes, abruptly, stepping to loom over his other shoulder in case the Navi decides to swing.
"I am the master on the topic . . . and you are in no way enslaving your sorrows. If anything, they are slowing you down - not quite enslaving you, yet, but, you are wallowing in their attempted subjugation."

The Navi stops once more. History is doomed to repeat itself, and none would stop the written word yet to come.
?: Your opinions will be left to yourself....
The shadowed Navi now fully turns; his blood red eyes outright burning beneath the overhangs of the warped network.
?: ....or you will die with the trash of this world.
...this was a warning issued with the most dire of tones. Regardless of what StrifeMan may be planning, the pressure exerted by this Navi meets and surpasses the darkness manifest in the one that faces him even now.
