*Embera simply looked down to Serix. Shrugging off her ending statement, she merely pressed her first question with clarity.*
Embera: You noticed me, but what possessed you to actually start talking to me?
*Before she could wait for a reply, she saw a familiar face. Too familiar. Playing the babysitter was something he often did, she supposed. Approaching him, and ignoring anything Serix might say, she smirked at Warrior.*
Embera: So you're still playing the hero, huh? You got stronger, too. A lot stronger.
*Embera glanced around at the other navis around her, and felt the energy coming right off of Warrior. It was different, and she liked it. She chuckled a little bit before deciding not to chide him.*
Embera: I suppose it's good for someone here to be playing the hero, because I'm not going to take responsibility for these people if and when they're killed in the crossfire. Hope you have enough conscience for the both of us.
*Embera continued smiling at him with her same vile smirk, taking notice of the people that followed him. She saw the little girl, with the mask she had with her. Embera was dumbstruck and stared at Noal, remembering the mask's owner. With a seemingly more sincere smile, she winked at Noal before heading back over to Genesis' side once again.*

Warrior grins at Embera's remark; it was an unusual response from him, considering the nature of it.
"Me? No. The heroes are the ones with the odds stacked highest against them, and yet knowing the danger, they still choose to fight. Us being here doesn't belittle their relevance, but rather exclaims their courage. 'These people' are your heroes today."
It was one of those things that humans, because of their fragility, perhaps had an easier time understanding.
More important than his words were his realization of the situation though. In a way, Embera wasn't wrong at all. But victory today didn't depend on everyone returning, and that was a hard truth Warrior was able to accept before arriving, at least.
But if they chose to show their valor and likely die a hero, he wouldn't deprive them of the glory.

"I can't think of anyone who matches that description either. KnightMan is likely still tied up after that other fiasco."
*He didn't know anyone that fit the description Serix gave him. The things she said didn't match up for anyone that he could think of. Always looking bored was one he could put a finger to, but then came the prison bit and standing out. As for KnightMan he expected to see him eventually, just not anytime soon after what was likely considered the blunder of numerous lifetimes. Glassman was wise enough, but M's wondering was something he didn't want to think about right now. It was the first thing he considered at Saul Kada as soon as he saw MagicMan, but said nothing of it and did his best to lay those suspicions to rest.*
"That would be what I'm dreading most right now..."
*He would like to say that arriving at Kotobuki eased those suspicions, but they just stirred them up more instead. Looked like more had arrived too, an unexpected choice for one at that. He supposed that he had indeed grown enough to be recognized, but would that recognition be good or bad for him? Another was one from the Forest Network that he recalled that came next. Then was another from Element City, who didn't seem entirely at peace over that still. He nodded to her at Glassman's words, then was welcomed to yet another surprise from Embera. She knew quite a number of people for being so hostile. Or perhaps that was why she knew them?*
"Being a hero or not is of little importance here. Such a title doesn't matter at all. We may be responsible for ourselves, but we will all be involved one way or another in this."
*If they were here to be recognized as heroes, then that was on them. He personally felt that it didn't matter. At the end of the day a hero was no different than an ordinary person. They had just been one of the people to act out instead of doing nothing. They were responsible for their own decisions and actions. But they were also here to work together. Better to do so as effectively as possible rather than antagonizing each other right away.*

He was right.
Megami asked herself at that moment where was that part of her that was always optimistic? She removed her hand from the coveted scar, pulling her blouse slightly to leave no trace visible. She looked up to the group once more as GlassMan’s words were a comfort and Embera was a sting even know they were not remotely directed at her. She could not help but to stare at the fiery NetNavi and Warrior as if it was intended to be especially for her.
“You are right…” Her eyes sliding to one corner for one second made it as if she was acknowledging GlassMan, but her voice and approach between Embera and Warrior made it almost seem as if she was answering to their philosophy, “But…my choice is my own, even the decision to possibly perish. Whether he is my hero or not, I insist that he bare no responsibility for my choice, but respect it. Whether he will be here or not today, I would have stepped into the fray of battle…for I am more than happy to sacrifice myself for the one I care for.”
It was a somber expression that was on her face as she begun, but overtime, it turned into a fierce glare of determination. One glance to the NetNavi before her, Megami had seemed to come from her depressed thoughts as she remembered everything: why she was here, everything that occurred up to this point, and the awakening light (and ironically the darkness) that guided her to the power that dwelled in. It was one that she begun to understand and it drawn from one thing: her love for her Net Operator.
…that which made her smile.
“Besides, surely you are here for the same reason, yes?” Megami’s voice more melodic and cheerful than the moment she forced her smile, “If we all walk away from this together, technically, you will be my hero too!”
The goddess lips pressed tightly and her eyes were at a hazy half-close full of glee as she given a warm smile to Embera.

"Well, like I said, I was bored. Talking with you was a method to ease that boredom without putting myself in the way of needless injury or deletion. Besides, you're one of our main powerhouses. If I made you waste your energy fighting me, then the chances of the group would drop significantly."
Serix then turned to Warrior.
"You there, I don't recall what it was you introduced yourself as after the incident in Creamland. I'd like to apologize for my abruptness then. It was not you that I fought alongside, but a doppelganger of yours. I don't recall getting his name though. In any case, you seem much stronger than he, and I hope that some day I can attain such a level. By the way, by chance, did you know a navi by the name of Jin?"
She hugged her knees atop her crate, remembering all the times she couldn't find him.
"It's alright if you don't remember him, but he spoke very highly of you when he was around....well, except for one incident though he didn't speak much about it. Oh, that reminds me, what happened to that terrorist we fought before?"
Thinking of this, she remembered that Embera was actually a neutral party during that event, allied with neither side, and simply there to watch the events unfold. She wondered what it was now that had managed to drag her onto the field of battle.

Warrior smiled again at Megami's speech there. Couldn't have said it better himself.
Genesis was right though. No arguing with that point.
And then Serix addressed him next.
"My name is Warrior. The doppelganger you're referring to must be Remnant."
He was surprised to hear that next part. She thought he was more powerful than Remnant? That was the first time he'd ever been told that, and truthfully the first time such a thought had ever crossed his mind.
Could such a statement possibly be true though? Could he really be stronger, or even just as strong as his guardian?
"Jin? The name sounds familiar, but I can't recall when I last saw him. I think it was in Netopia? It's been a long time. And as for the terrorist..."
Warrior turned his head back to Noal for a second. That's where he'd seen that mask before.
His eyes went back to Serix as he continued.
"It's not the most pressing matter at hand. But it's on my mind."

Megami turned a cheek to Embra, slightly pulled away to the conversation and then the other to turn away.
“I murdered him…did I not?”
She thought this in a manner that made her feel as if she was cold. Her eyes just as easily sunk into the regretful stare that was empty once more. It was not carefree, but rather lost as to how what she could do for the NetNavi. It was painful, standing around the NetNavis. Even if GlassMan had reassured her that she was not at fault, she knew that could have been considered a misguided sympathy. Her emotions went awry and her feelings carried her into a broken frenzy. All at once, the memories of what taken place in those cravats of her shattered mind had come to surface making her close her eyes and her lips purse shut as if to speak no evil.
“I murdered him…”
Within her mind, the thoughts still went around in an endless cycle of what she had done. Her chest burning as she rubbed at her raging heart.

Noal was kind of weirded out, there were all these people acting like they knew her and it was very weird and subtle end just creepy!
Whilst Finale was bored, trapped in Noal's shadow. Almost breaking character to laugh at Serix insinuating Warrior was any form of a well, Warrior. And his inner monologue was again nearly broken as Finale just barely resisted the urge to tell Serix to shut up.
If she was bored she should wreck a building. Or a country. It works for Finale.

Merrill entered the area quietly and stood beside Warrior. He turned and noticed Remnant. He stared at him a second, and then gave his head in a nod as acknowledgement as well as an attempt to get his attention. He stood silently, listening to the conversation's at hand.
As Xylia Rose entered, her eyes opened wide at all the sights. Then she realized all the navi's in the area. There were so many! She had been so far away from people for so long that she felt very out of place. On top of that, the last time she had been near so many people, she had been bullied and harassed. She huddled close to Merrill and Warrior, trying not to shake or have her panic overtake her.

*Embera smiled at Warrior's reply. "Seems his strength has brought a new clarity, if accompanied by a wordy bravado" she thought. As she pondered, she caught a glimpse of Genesis as he tensed up. She could feel the tension and had an idea of what raced through his mind. She gently grabbed his arm and whispered into his ear*
Embera:This may backfire, but we can handle it regardless. We don't have to trust MagicMan, or even TornadoMan... We just have to trust each other right now... We'll stop Gate, even if there are more obstacles than we intend.
*Letting go of Genesis, Embera's attention was next grabbed by Megami. She met this girl before. The innocent one, one of the examples she used to chide Warrior. She first spoke in the same childish, innocent tones she remembered. Being slightly frustrated at the ever-optimistic woman nearly made her scoff. That was until she saw the drop in spirits. It was a familiar drop, a deep-seeded trauma that resonated deep into Embera's core. She couldn't explain it, but her body pulled her away from Genesis. She moved over to Megami, nearly knocking Glassman out of her way. She reached out and grabbed Megami's hand. This was not a violent grab, nor a threatening gesture. She then began pulling her away from the group near an outcrop of crates, before motioning for her to sit down. The words were gnawing at her tongue, but she could barely find the right ones to speak. Unsure why she had this overwhelming sense of compassion, Embera only said one sentence to Megami.*
Embera: Tell me what happened.

So shaken, Megami barely registered the touch.
By the time the sensation of Embera grabbing her hand was acknowledged, a flinch came with it. Her feet carried her as if a child’s would in the tug of a parent as she lost all resistance. It was confusing, more so than ever, considering that she had learned nothing but to soak the sense of bravado that the fiery NetNavi emitted. However, this was different! Megami, gazing to Embera’s gesture (and her usual lack of comprehension to such language shown), had simply motioned to the crate with a slow step and stroke of her hand across its top. Her finger tips sweeping the top as her ears heard something she had not prepared for from Embera:
Tell me what happened.
Words that signified a genuine concern.
Megami fingers twitched as if a jolt ran down her spine. Her eyes went to the NetNavi for a second, but that obviously it did not last. Lips twisting, heart pounding, and her breathes were mixed with incomprehensible words.
“What?” she hesitated…
“Oh, well…it was…vague, but-” she shifted…
“I-I…not even I…know how.” she leaned…
Against the crate, her body positioned in the most disheveled unlady-like manner. It shown her disposition as her heels dug into the dirt while she knocked her knuckles against the crate in a repetitive rhythmic sound. A long wordless silence followed the depressing instrumental as the Goddess’s eyes dropped to the ground.
“I thought it was a nightmare,” a hollow tone passed her lips, “Lives endangered and a city falling to my hands all because I lost myself in a figment of my imagination.”

"I murdered him."
The girl had done nothing of the sort. She was used. A tool in the hands of the real murderer. Thinking this, Serix walked over to Megami and Embera.
"I don't blame you. I never did, and I never will. It was that clown that was controlling you. He used your body for his own twisted purposes. He was the one that took him from us. Jin died a hero's death. He was fighting to protect everyone, and that includes you. So don't you dare let that go to waste. If you want to regret anything, regret that that jester is still alive."
After saying this, Serix turned back to Warrior.
"Once Gate is taken care of, I'm going to hunt down that clown and make him pay for everything he's done. Might need some help along the way, so don't any of you go dyin' on me."

Glassman staggered forward on one foot as Embera bumped him aside. If his balance was REALLY bad he would've faceplanted right there. Fortunately,he maintained some level of balance and put his other foot back on the ground.
It was a bit of a relief to see someone else concerned for Megami. And even more of a relief knowing that no-one held a grudge against her for what she had no power over to begin with.
As Serix brought up hunting down Caliga,he sighed and shook his head. The very notion of hunting down that crazed jester sounded like more trouble than it'd be worth.
'Sounds like suicide to me...' Glassman thought inwardly. But he didn't have much of a track-record for hunting anyone down...
But,then again...maybe things would be different next time they ran into him...
"As crazy as it sounds,I might assist in finding that jester-navi again...but we'd need a better way to deal with him next time. And we would obviously need more strength,as you mentioned..."
Looking toward Megami for a moment,Glassman then returned his glance to Serix.
"Maybe even a bit more psychological strength too,overall..."
Glassman hoped he hadn't hit any sensitive cords with that last statement...though he felt he nailed it on the head. Perhaps Caliga primarily targetted those who were more prone to anxiety...? That could be any of them though. It was a part of having emotions,anyway...

Warrior refrained from responding to Serix at first. He shot a perplexing glance at Remnant, but he'd sent him back the same one.
Then Glassman spoke up, and his attention went to him next.
"A clown? I don't think I've had the pleasure of meeting that one."
It sounded kind of silly, from an outsider's perspective though. But putting two and two together, he was able to deduce that this "clown" was what had caused Megami to act the way she was. Apparently it was even enough to make her murder Jinko, and anyone who knew anything about Megami would understand how out of character that was for her.
If the clown was powerful enough to do that, then Glassman was right about them needing more psychological strength to combat such an enemy. Warrior probably wasn't the best candidate for that fight, though. Remnant or Feint perhaps?
"But if you two run into trouble and need back up, don't be afraid to contact me."
"My my, aren't you popular?"
Feint walked up to Warrior after his response, initiating a somewhat private conversation with him while everyone else continued doing their own things.
Warrior was almost shocked to hear her talking to him. Had he finally impressed her?
"You'd be too if you came out and showed yourself every once in a while."
"Well I gotta start somewhere."
And that 'somewhere' was here, by the way it sounded.
Merrill and Xylia had entered a little later than expected, but their presence was acknowledged when they eventually did come. Remnant had an idea of why Merrill was looking at him the way he did; he'd have a conversation lined up with him afterward, it looked like.
Feint noticed Rose's reaction to all of the people here; the hater of people actually had a past with the hater of people, though they each had a different kind of hate, you could say. One of them was at least on her way to overcoming it, it seemed.
That said, Feint's dialogue with Warrior may as well have been empty words; they're only purpose was to cleverly make her presence known to the timid one as nonchalantly as possible. But beyond that, Feint would avoid interaction for now to focus on the present conflict.
One last background interaction was left to address then: Remnant's and Finale's.
Serix had practically exposed Noal's identity when mentioning their last crossing of paths, and he hadn't fully realized until now that Noal was wearing Finale's mask. At first he presumed Finale had just copied the girl's appearance like he did Warrior's, back at the sky scraper in Bayside City.
But her look of confusion screamed a different story. Remnant was unsure of what to take in about that, but the little girl had been helpful in his efforts so far. She'd earned his surveillance for now, though.

In the sidelines, Noal had somehow produced a deck of cards, and was kicking Remnant's butt at Solitaire.
Waiiit a second...
