"Take it apart and split it into nine. If we leave it as it is, who knows what sort of catastrophe will happen."
*These were the first words that he could recall. That and that their name was Origin. When his eyes next opened, crimson as they were, they were of a large white room. He was given a serial number along with a name, his designation being Genesis. It would serve as the sign that he was created by humans, being named by them after all. He met with another in a room that was large and had what seemed to be grass next, this one being named Haven. Before long he met another one named Xion, followed by Fate, Renegade, Eliza, Suei, Argo, and Xhaos. Once the nine were all gathered up they would all be taken off for individual testing in various scenarios and were told of what their designated abilities should be. They were tested in reverse in comparison to how he met them all, so first was Xhaos, then Argo, Suei, Eliza, Renegade, Fate, Xion, himself, and then Haven for last. He didn't know how their test results would go, but he didn't quite understand the world yet and simply did as he was told. He didn't have a full grasp of his abilities and so he couldn't give his best for the tests.*
*They would sometimes be gathered up to hear a progress report. Some of them were addressed, but never all of them. The ones addressed usually were the ones who had performed well. They said Xion had earned a reward for his performance on his field test, which meant it wasn't like the simulated scenarios they usually had done, right? They took Xion away and when he returned he was different than before. He didn't speak to them as much, almost as if he were at odds with himself and muttering to himself off and on. After Argo finished one of their tests he started doing the same and soon after Suei stopped speaking to them as well. If she did it was usually in a monotone and lifeless tone. Slowly but surely they each were being changed by their time in these labs. They had no way of telling how much time had passed since they had been here, but Fate was the next one to be chosen for their "changes". A reward, as they told Genesis, for his efforts. He got to watch as they painfully tore her apart and placed her within him, a perfect unison of the two. With this, his abilities were amplified greatly, his test results surpassing all expectations, while his systems themselves deviated entirely from their original design after the perfect fusion to a patchwork of his own and hers, adapting both of their designed purposes into himself. Haven also seemed to start having ideas then, but Genesis didn't care at the time. He just wanted to lash out at them with all of the strength that they had given him.*
*Which worked perfectly in some ways. Because of how the eight of them continued to exceed expectations, the project was called off for the safety of those involved. But the nine scientists involved continued their work in secret with their creations, the ninth scientist in particular, having been the one to create Fate, setting a plan into motion that got each of them released from their isolated space through their private networks and sent off into the net itself. This landed them square in the Undernet, Genesis finding himself confronting his own dark desires and wishes. To do as the humans wanted him to and unleash as much destruction as possible. There was absolutely nothing wrong with doing so, right? But in his time with Fate she spoke of them having better things that they could do with their type of strength. He pushed the darkness back, for now, and kept on moving. He met with Eliza next, the two running into Xion and Renegade. Xion had corrupted Renegade with the same darkness that Xion himself had possessed for some time now, the two sides butting heads as it was discovered that Xion and Renegade, now named Twilight, had chosen to work for the goal that Haven had in mind. Since Haven had requested their termination that was what they had set out to do, both sides fighting in a heated confrontation for hours.*
*The battle only came to an end when Suei came and intervened, Genesis and Xion being the last two standing while Eliza and Twilight had been heavily damaged in the battle. Suei's programming was to prevent their own deletion of one another after all, so both sides backed off. While Genesis helped Eliza recover they got wind of Haven's growing forces, rallying more to his cause. Suei had went with Genesis and Eliza as well, possibly to ensure that nothing else went wrong with them. And just as expected, Xion and Twilight showed themselves once more, this time with Argo and Xhaos with them. They faced uneven odds this time, but a combination of Eliza's tactics and the power that Genesis had allowed them to split up the enemy with Genesis being stuck with Twilight. If Genesis was considered the ultimate sword among their group, then Twilight was the ultimate shield. The battle between the two dragged out for a long time because of this, but eventually Twilight withdrew upon receiving new orders. Eventually after their battle had concluded Genesis managed to check his mail, seeing he had obtained one from Eliza about where to meet back up at. Eliza was badly damaged, having fought Argo and Xhaos while Xion had been blocked off by obstacles and then Suei not long after, Xion having lost interest and letting her go seeing as she was their lifeline in a way.*
*Genesis decided to go on the offensive instead, going after the army that was being formed in one of the areas and decimating them. This led to Argo coming out and engaging Genesis. Argo was balanced, being good in all fields, but not exceeding in any area. Genesis held the upper hand and won against Argo, deleting him in their battle and departing to find the others. Suei had arrived after and revived Argo however, still following the programming that she was given. Meeting back up with Eliza, they were discovered by Twilight and Xhaos and engaged in another drawn out battle, defeating both and forcing Twilight's retreat as they deleted Xhaos. Eliza had also forced the darkness that Xion put into Twilight out, causing Twilight to disappear for a time. They managed to get a lock on Haven's location and go challenge him next, running into Xion on the way, who had managed to find Suei and Twilight again in the time it took for them to arrive. In the end Xion decided against fighting such odds and working with them to deal with Haven instead, all agreeing on the part that they would settle differences after they finished. In the battle with Haven, someone created to be their betters in each field, they won and deleted him as well. But when they departed, as before, Suei resurrected him and Xhaos. But a flaw formed in her programming, making her depart as well after as Haven, Xhaos, and Argo thought of another approach to try the next time this started up again after losing everything this time. The result of this battle had cost even Genesis a large sum of his power.*
*It was some years later before the fighting began again for the eight of them. Eliza had managed to get a read on their sibling fragments, each dropping what they were doing to go and take care of this. It was a set of hidden networks that were difficult to access, but then Eliza had been built capable of doing that very well in the first place. In the end they managed to forge their way through the traps and make it inside of the network itself, the network being a prototype of some sort of weapon apparently. But as they went through the weapon a trap separated them. Genesis ended up meeting Haven on his own, discovering another secret to this network in question. None of them would return if they were deleted here. They would end up being forced to become part of the other fragments in an attempt to complete what wasn't done quite yet. It seemed like it was successful, as he fought with Haven and Xion and Twilight caught up. Xion had finished off Argo, but Argo had eliminated Eliza before he had. And Xhaos had destroyed Suei before Twilight killed him off for good as well. In the end they fought Haven and lost a lot of their power again in the end but killed him off as well, the three who remained each carrying three fragments now. They each returned to their own places after this, leaving the network for their own access later.*
Argo: One of the fighters of the War Navis. After obtaining data they chose him for the fragment that would let him wield both light and darkness. But his mind wasn't mentally sound enough to do so, resulting in his insanity and only being capable of listening to Haven. Another one designed to have balanced stats in all fields, but not being excellent in any of them.
Suei: Primary support for the War Navis. Designed around her fragment of healing and keeping the others in stable condition while keeping them around as well. While her supportive abilities did extend to herself, her combat ability was still subpar in comparison with the others. In order to make her follow her programming more, they removed her emotions which partially returned after their previous battle among themselves. In the years leading up to the second battle she used her abilities for those that she happened to meet along the way and those that she could.
Eliza: The intelligence and hacker of the War Navis. She was designed for taking control of their enemies in a number of ways among numerous other abilities. Her fragment allowed her to maintain her maximum power for the entire fight without cost as she used her abilities for the benefit of others. While they were in the facility together, Eliza was the one who tried to look after them besides Fate and continued to do so even after Fate was gone.
Haven: Designated leader of the War Navis group. Created first and contained one of the nine fragments that made his programming flawed later upon activation. It afforded him with some time of invincibility and many other abilities that aided in him holding superiority for some time in battles. Primary role was leadership and being balanced in many fields, better than Argo at this.
Xhaos: One of two that were considered side projects to the original seven, but still part of the nine. He was designed solely around his fragment that dealt with enemies in a single blow. Considered for a time to be used in a duo with Xion, but the two had issues and Xhaos couldn't deal with being around Xion. A bit more bloodthirsty and not caring for others as long as he got to slaughter others with his abilities.
Fate: One of two that were considered side projects to the original seven, but still part of the nine. A caring individual who looked out for those around her. She was designed with the ability to grow stronger the longer the battle progressed along with inheriting enhanced mastery over her skills from her fragment, but didn't adapt to it quickly enough as opposed to the liking of her creators. Assimilated into Genesis to better increase his own performance to their liking instead.
Twilight: The tank of the War Navis group. Designed to handle a large number of foes while maintaining himself and withstanding intense amounts of damage. His fragment added to this further, allowing him to be completely immune to some of the attacks that were used against him. He was sent into the darkness before the darkness was pulled from him and he fought Xion later, losing one of his eyes and gaining the eye-patch he wears now. He defeated Xion in a later engagement, but ultimately they worked together when they had to. Twilight was also the one who inherited the fragments of Xhaos and Suei. While he can fight in various ranges his specialty is long range bombardment and ranged combat in general, melee combat being a last resort for him, but not an impossibility for him. After the passing of time he lost much of his faith in others.
Xion: The assassin of the War Navis group. Designed both with his own unique data and from the data of an archaic navi, inheriting all of that navi as well. Was a heavily self-centered individual. He specializes in single combat and melee combat and annihilates victims that way, but can handle numerous foes because of the darkness he was given. Embracing this darkness and making it his own happened later as he became a force to be reckoned with, his fragment effectively being the opposite of Eliza's own, allowing him to maintain his darkness to the utmost at all times. He can do ranged combat, but it's not what he likes to do and as a result, he tends to ignore it if at all possible. Xion inherited the fragments from Eliza and Argo and often has times when he and Twilight butt heads, but is on good terms with Genesis. Is the one who set up the incidents that killed all of the humans involved with their creation, including the nine scientists and those who came up with the project and hired those nine in the first place.
Genesis: The offense of the War Navis group with the designation of Destroyer. Designed to manipulate data to his liking including his own and unleash large bursts of power to wipe out everything in a massive radius without mercy. His original fragment is still inside of him, but was overshadowed in the end by the one he obtained from Fate as the two melded into one, the original fragment that augmented his destructive power being changed and shown in another way. He also inherited Haven's fragment, though he has shown no signs of losing himself to it as Haven himself had before. He has a large number of abilities and was considered the closest to the original Origin Project, something that caused the others to want to shut down the process once they had performed so well. Originally on bad terms with the others after they escaped the labs, he's on speaking good terms with Xion and isn't in such a good position with Twilight, whose views are almost opposite of his own.
