#s://i~imgur~com/Pth93Lo~png Faith Nymphra and Jacob Rayner arrived at the Donburā Lake shortly after having been briefed by Cherish Pele of the ongoing situation: NIA had been investigating the ruins that housed the OOPArts, but their agents had mysteriously gone missing. After her initial expedition to the first shrine, she discovered that they had been ambushed and slaughtered, but managed to resolve the scene in time to save the survivors. Knowing that the situation of the next two locales was likely the same, Cherish had gone to the Whazzap Lines herself while requesting Jake's and Faith's aid at the Donburā Lake to recover the hostages as quickly as possible.
Despite it being a location in the Real World, a Net Navi had managed to show up at Cherish's initial destination, implying that these areas could still be access through to Cyber World. That was going to be their fastest way of reaching the lake, but the route to get there was uncertain, so they'd still have to arrive in person.
While they didn't have a protective suit like Cherish, once they were within the EM Field of the shrine, their weapons could be called into the Real World and their cybernetic traits would accompany them as well. She'd warned them that they were still limited by their physiology, though -- things like inertia and G-Force would have a much more substantial impact on their movements here than they would in the Cyber World if they maneuvered about too haphazardly, but at the very least, they'd be able to attack and defend just as they normally would otherwise.
-- -- -- And with the exposition out of the way, Faith's expression was most upset at this little reunion that she and Jake were having.
" Didn't I tell you not to get involved -- to let me handle things? "
" Cherish asked us both to come. I think we can both agree this has to be pretty serious if she's going that far. "
" I'm not talking about this. I'm talking about what you were doing in the Netopian and Dark Colony Networks. "
" ...? "
" I'm a professional hacker, Jake. I know how to track your activity, don't play dumb with me. "
So that was how she could tell. He knew the jig was up then, but before he could answer that, she'd already continued in her stern, disciplinary tone.
" We'll talk about this later. No point in keeping hostages waiting over it. "
Jake would have probably retorted to that passive-aggressive remark, but he could agree that escalating their drama anymore was counterproductive to the lives of others in this particular situation. Having reached the lake, and having long been within the EM Field of the temple by now, he looked down at the murky waters as if assessing some way to enter from where they were standing.
" She said the temple would be at the bottom. If I knew exactly where it was, maybe I could create enough wind to divide the water and make a path to it. "
He was no Moses, but if his strength here was on par with what he had in the Cyber World, it wasn't asking very much of him to do that. Maintaining the wind tunnel would be difficult though, and he couldn't just go sweeping the lake with them until he found the temple as that would end up displacing the water enough to damage everything around the lake.
Faith didn't have any bright ideas either though, other than just diving in and using her enhanced traits to swim around quickly enough until she found the temple. In either case, the hostages were probably long gone if they were down there, but they'd need to think of something for the sake of those that could still be hanging on to the previous few moments they'd have left.

"No need to worry about parting a lake. You won't be finding anyone there."
Someone had arrived out of nowhere, at least at first glance. The electricity coursing from his body told them what they likely needed to know as they saw a strange humanoid that had one half of its body as black and the other half as white. It was strange however, as the humanoid was only called as such due to the fact that it had a human shape. There was no shape of face to be made out, and only a lightning bolt in the center of the torso otherwise.
"Because I do a thorough job. You're all that's left, and you won't be what's left for long."
He would flicker out in black and white lightning, landing beside them after in a brief moment. The figure was only black now instead of black and white, the right arm beginning to shine golden. A strange sound seemed to reach Faith and Jake alike, seemingly having no effect at the time, but constantly heard just the same.

Faith's eyes were quick to survey the new arrival, taking note of the sudden shifting of colors, but the peculiar expression on her face wasn't due to that so much as it was due to the sudden sound she began hearing. Her eyes were frantically looking for the source of it.
Jake, on the other hand, could certainly put his pacifist ways aside when a foe showed this level of cruelty and no remorse for it. He drew his weapon much sooner than he otherwise would, taking stance immediately to do what he came here for.
" Pretty cold for someone so sparkly. Let's see it, then. "
Warrior began to notice the sound as well now, but wasn't sure what to make of it. It was almost like something was... charging? Or perhaps something was beaconing, like a Signal.
At any rate, both Jake and Faith had seen enough of Juno's antics to have an inkling when some manner of deception was occurring. And while neither had a foolproof solution of how to counter it, Jake did at least come prepared: a sigil on his sword shone brightly as it emitted a wave of interference outward in all directions, intending to break any unseen veil should there be one.
Faith, on the other hand, took measures for something potentially even more dangerous since it hadn't had any effect on her yet and she was still able to. She'd cover her ears for good measure as well to see if that made any difference.

Warrior's opening gambit was helpful, as the moment it happened, to his left he would spot something that was precarious to both of their well-beings: another of the individual that was facing them down, this one white to make up for the missing white from the black one. As soon as this was revealed, another sound seemed to be let off then as well. Faith was doing fine with it, but Warrior would feel as if he wanted to laugh or was furious, both strange things to feel spontaneously. He had managed to halt one of their plans too, so the other would simply get to work with a more direct approach instead as a blade of electricity spawned from his arm as he blinked to them, striking at them with the sword before he blinked back to his starting position and fired his fist at them, the fist exploding as it reached them.

Pouncing like a predator from her position, Faith kicked a cloud of dust behind her as she immediately dashed at the white-clad new arrival. That dust seemed to have a lot of static with it, she'd noticed...
Warrior's eyes were twitching at the mixture of invasive feelings, as if trying to get a grip on the situation. He wouldn't have much time to get to the bottom of that before the black-Gemini was making his move between Faith and himself. Faith seemed unphased by the assault, dodging the blade swings even with her back completely turned to the darker twin that was now behind her as she continued on with her barrage of cuts at the white one in front.
Jake was able to meet blow for blow on his end, but the noise was quite noticeably suppressing his performance as he went to strike back.

The duo were reluctant to speak their intentions aloud, so they'd communicate through gestures and gazes to make it more difficult for the Gemini-duo to know what they were planning. The Geminis themselves weren't showing much of their own hand either, though, so Faith would take the next gamble now that Warrior's had paid off.
" This terrain is electrically charged -- an abnormality for a lake. I wonder how they'll react if I can reverse the polarity... "
She thought those words to herself rather than saying them aloud; of course it helped that the noise ringing in Warrior's ears wasn't ringing nearly as loudly in hers. It wasn't a simple task that she could do with the flip of a switch, but once she'd realized that her Battle Chips could still be used inside of this electromagnetic field as if she were in the Cyber World, she was able to put her plan into action and it would be immediately noticeable to all parties.
As she kept swinging at the white one, she suddenly recalled the fight with Rosso and Nero where Vanguard had been severely punished for pouring all of his attention into one of them and not the other, and she had to wonder if something like that was going to happen here as well.
Despite her instinct warning her though, she continued her assault and elected to remain prepared for sudden retaliation just in case; if nothing else, Jake was using his positioning to strike at both of them, so it was better that they tried their different angles while figuring these opponents out. After all, she figured it was better if she painfully discovered that possibility than if Jake did.

One was feeling the influence while the other was resisting for the time being. That one was also quick on her feet in general, as she evaded even without watching the attack. The static charge was something they would notice with more abundance now as well when the attacking began, each having a sort of barrier that buzzed to life as their attacks crashed into them. Their goal would be the woman then, both striking the ground as they sent a current through it with the changed polarity to influence the effects it would personally have on them as the other aimed once more, firing his arm as the explosions this time were larger and more disruptive in nature. The sound from the beginning was much louder now as well, coming from the Black one as the source of origin.

They were unphased by her tactic, even calmly conjuring a protective field around them that she couldn't break through. And she felt their attention firmly set on her now as the explosions were indeed disrupting her tempo. She was nothing if not adaptable, but she could tell that this was just whittling her down for what was coming later as the White Gemini had yet to strike.
" I see why Cherish sent both of us here. You two would have done either of us in already if we'd come alone. "
To think that Cherish had been fighting entities on this caliber during the time she'd been away... how could she have possibly been faring better just on her own?
The Geminis fought in a manner very similar to the way Warrior and Remnant used to, which was perhaps why Jake was having a much better time handling their attacks than Faith was. Their techniques were a bit more refined though, as if they've had centuries to fine tune it whereas Jake and David only had a few years to grow their synergy, and most of that was certainly on the back of one more than it was the other. That wasn't the case for the Geminis: they multiplied each others' strength rather than simply adding to it.
The noise was reaching Faith now as well, giving her almost the same mix of emotions, but there was some slight difference in her biology that caused it to affect her a little differently. All the same, she cleared her thoughts as she finished evading, knowing that these enemies were going to require her full focus to outwit and overcome.

She was referring to The New Forces, no doubt, but Warrior raised an eyebrow when Faith said she was "tracking" them. He'd only heard of one of their members by name and not really much else beyond that -- just how close had she gotten while they were separated? He did have an encounter with Verde, but that was less of a fight and more of an allowed escape. He knew she'd been to Sharo and back, but she never shared details on any of her findings. For as much as she rebuked him for not listening to her, she didn't exactly keep him the most informed either.

With her banter aside, she knew her hand was being forced now, and she wasn't comfortable with that. She'd normally have the luxury of Genesis and Vanguard to handle any issues they came across while Mistair would shore up any situational shortcomings they had. Faith was able to suppress a lot of her true potential as a result, only lightly tapping into some of it when specific situations demanded like with Silverhorn and Deav.
While Warrior could certainly hold his own, he just wasn't a match for those three combined; few could say they were a match for even one of them. She'd have to show more of her cards here, and it'd still take no small amount of contribution from Jake to see things through: they were running out of time to act.
A surge of crimson energy encompassed her body: she'd been seen many times in this enhanced state, as it was the doorway to her deeper wells of power. It'd take time to tap into that though, so for now she'd let the ruby haze envelop her as she'd dash forward again to strike. It wasn't anything too remarkable beyond the usual, but it was clear that she was taking things very seriously now.

They certainly were adaptable, though more so the one they expected it from. The other was flexible in another facet, but not quite the same as a light shone from them both, lessening the attacks coming their way as their protective barrier met it again. Their own synergy was in full effect, now was simply seeing this job done. But seeing as they were asked and it wouldn't matter before long, they had no qualms answering her questions too.
"Your synergy with others has apparently been your strength, so finding you like this with the bait is fortuitous indeed. That besides, I just love this part of my job."
But who was the bait being set for originally then? For them, they were in this for a large part due to their own destructive desires. It was what made them perfect for these sorts of tasks, as it simply meant the interested parties would move as intended. But whether or not that would matter for the ones involved now was a different story entirely, firing the rocket fists off again, but this time without the explosion as Black warped over to the fist, reattaching it as it morphed the hand into an electric sword, unleashing a myriad of electrically charged strikes to assail them this time across a wide radius.

Faith wasn't sure how to take that threat. What were they baiting? Jake? Herself? Her dagger? She had some trouble maneuvering around the sword strikes, but as was typical, she made it through in the end. She'd heard something behind her made impact though, and looked back to confirm her fear.
" Jake! "
" Ugh... "
The Black Gemini had just removed the saber that he'd impaled Warrior with as she had fully turned around to see it, leaving him to drop to one knee, using his sword to prop himself up as if he was still intending to fight. Faith would come over to support him, of course, but had undoubtedly made up her mind about this now.
" Hang in there. "
" Don't be so... dramatic... "
To be fair, he'd been impaled plenty of times before, just not necessarily in the flesh. He was bleeding pretty badly, enough that she'd remove her scarf to tightly close off the wound like a tourniquet.
" You bastards... "
Cursing them was all she really could do here, other than beat a retreat now that her line had been crossed. It was clear by now that physics didn't seem to slow her down even in the Real World -- it was questionable if the EM Field was even enhancing her at all, but there was no way a typical human could move the way that she did otherwise.
Regardless, she'd put that speed to use and flee the scene, almost as if vanishing from sight with Jake in tow. Getting him to a hospital would be the priority, but many had lost power recently and were still being brought back online, as Grom had said to Cherish during her briefing before all of this.
Any place was better than here though, and given that there were no survivors of the Geminis' attack anyway, there was little incentive to stick around with Jake's crippling wound.

She seemed quite upset at their success against them. Then again, she was doing well enough for herself as opposed to her partner, who wasn't frequently impaled in real life. Not something one would fancy a habit with frequency, as it were. Her escape was secure, and they would have drawn the necessary eyes as demanded of them. Now was just making the next move. And which pieces would be pushed off of the board when that was done as well as the scene was concluded now.

Not long after Faith and Jake had left, a new figure descends into the wave space. Having detected that certain spaces still had plenty of waves, he had been lingering in the distance, but could no longer allow himself to just silently watch.
The Moon Disaster rested on a wave platform some distance above the carnage, and found himself looking down at the Gemini twins. His usual smile was quite distorted, as he seemed overtly serious, for a change.
"YO YO! I gotta know, when did you all get the change of flow? Coming to Earth, working with those guys, its like you don't even remember what you know, yo!"

There it was. That was why falling back wasn't part of the equation in the beginning of it all. How fitting it was for this one to be looking down from on high, presuming themselves above all the normal nuances and the like. But all that was simple enough to set aside as the two once again became one, the white and black sides returning as they were when he first revealed himself. Indirect as it was, this would suffice.
"You're acting rather big for someone who's only around on the good graces of someone else. At best you're some kid's fantasy made real, so quit pretending like you know anything of substance. So, if you got tired of resting up out there, hurry up and come to the Earth. We still have work to do. If you refuse to engage, scamper back to your pet house."

Moon Disaster's appearance... brings something. Alongside this strange EM being, a feeling starts to rise within the hearts of everyone else in the area. The feeling of a presence, the feeling of a knowledge... the feeling of dread. And at the center of this feeling is the Gemini duo.
Powerful and ruthless as they are, in an instant they know. Something overwhelming is here; something beyond the limits of power, something beyond anything that they thought possible in this world... and it is protecting Moon Disaster wordlessly, and it was aware of the potential outcome of this meeting. In his very souls Gemini Spark knew; any move against the loud EM titan would result in a death from which he would never awaken, one that preys on their every insecurity and fear. In this moment, they stand against oblivion and are powerless to fight it.

The feeling of dread, the sensation of true powerlessness, the overwhelming difference between them. It was a rather nostalgic feeling. One that told of a very simple outcome to this engagement. There was the protection that was just spoken of. And now it was time to get to work just as was mandated from the beginning. And so in the face of that oblivion that was sure to come, the arm was raised as the lightning began to gather and fired out at the loud EM titan without second guessing, without hesitation, and without fear.

...and, yet, nothing happened. Gemini's power is denied him, as his attempt to make an attack against Moon Disaster is as ineffective as a child playing a game on a playground. He was robbed of his ability to perform any sort of action, and found himself to be truly powerless. Amid this moment, a deep, red tint overtakes the entire area as a wireframe engulfs a tremendous portion of the entire real-world space. Every human being in the area would instantly experience a feeling of impending dread and move away from the epicenter of this area; an epicenter that is based entirely around Gemini.
Then a small figure appears before him, entirely blackened and free of detail save a pair of deep red eyes, this figure stands a mere 4 feet tall, yet it looks up to Gemini while standing mere inches from him and pierces his very soul with an unyielding stare.
Gamma: I want peace, and that's all.
The red field in the area surges, and soon Gemini would find himself linked to the being in front of him; able to experience the being's anger, and able to understand just how horrible this situation truly is.
Gamma: Moon Disaster is my friend. Leave him alone and I'll let you go.
The small figure takes one step forward, pushing Gemini back as if the galactic general holds as much resistance in his entire being as a cloud of vapor.
Gamma: Or be stupid and test him or me. But I promise you one thing if you want to do that;
The field pulses again, this time causing a surge of pain to conduct through Gemini's form.
Gamma: ...I won't ever let you die.
