He had a firm understanding, this one. Hands would always need to be inside of that pot with prices paid from time to time to keep it stirring. There were many who didn't understand this concept at all, but he already showed that he possessed at least a grasp of that much. He even understood that for the big picture, it wasn't one vantage point that mattered, but many. Many played a part in it, yet would decide that theirs mattered more than others. Disregarding the others who contributed in it left them unable to see the proper value and as a result lose their way in their own vanity. Certainly this was one he had already piqued the interest of a certain someone. And as a result, he earned a bit of his curiosity as well.

It was here that the wind began to kick up. But there was no howling gusts that came with it, no. Only a dead silence that swirled around them. Like sound itself had died and been removed as some sort of foreign concept, the world around them appeared to grow dimmer as well, the gleam of his eyes remaining as sharp as they were since the onset of this encounter.

The story would have at least lined up with what Nightshade had told him back in Rammount, which involved the likes of both Cybeasts and Juukas. It reminded Warrior that he still hadn't succeeding in what he originally came here for: to learn how to combat a Juuka, or at least the intricasies of how they function.
Useful knowledge was gained nonetheless. Warrior grinned at his foe's words as the winds picked up -- he knew just how to speak to him, there was no doubt about that.

Megami had been jacked out by Xenneth some time ago, likely as a result of their connection being silenced for so long during Warrior's own private discussion with her earlier; he knew for certain that she didn't simpy flee. It left him in a less fortunate circumstance, but it seemed destined to be this way at this point.
He drew his sword and held it by his side, but as was his nature, did not make the first strike. If the enemy was as knowledgeable about him as he had seemed, then he probably expected this, but there was one surefire way of finding out by allowing it to play out anyway and gauging the response.

And it was here that the die was cast. Rather than make use of the rod that was in his hand right away, instead a pair of guns appeared in the air behind him. They were shrounded in an ominous shadow, but what they accomplished was the same as it fired off a round from each without a sound. It was as if the bullets simply found their mark within the very same span of thought that one would consider that they could be fired. A violent opener that could easily bring down those that weren't among the most accomplished that the world had to offer.

There wasn't any hesitation at all -- a lesson Warrior could have probably learned by now. The shots met their marks easily, but he was able to hold his own against them and the overwhelming force they carried with.

No time for being social anymore, he flourished his sword as though one would crack a whip, a trial of sparks jumping from the tip of the blade and bathing his wounds for a moment to mend them. A flurry of sword-swings came next, though none were intended to make contact so much as they were intended to launch a sort of sonicboom at his target, each one varying in properties from the last as a clear means to further gauge the enemy.
It was difficult to make a plan without knowing anything yet, but it was tactless not to have at least one to default to in times like these. His usual approach would have to do, and until the very last moment of commitment, he'd just need to be ready to change it up on the fly if the situation demanded him later on down the line.

That was good. Despite the quickness with which the battle began he was able to adapt and start his basic counteroffensive. A standard approach as it was that would suffice as the sonicbooms met their mark. But as if he started his offensive as soon as Warrior had started his own, the attacks began once more as the wind whipped about as two more shadowy firearms formed, one firing a hail of lasers as the other fired a myriad of solid rounds instead as he stood undaunted for now.

As the dust of his attacks settled, Warrior was met with another barrage of gunshots, nearly catching him offguard with how immediately they had been fired. He tumbled backward (rather more gracefully than this description implies) as the shots crashed down at his previous spot, seeming to land there all at once rather than in successive instances. Their heat scorched him a bit more than he'd like to admit, but that invigorated his fight-or-flight reflex -- and it went without saying which side of the spectrum he gravitated toward more.
" I knew I'd have to take you seriously, but I can see now that it's going to take more than that. "
This individual's speed and power were nothing to trifle with. While that much was obvious before, this display raised it to a degree that Warrior hadn't seen in quite a long time.
" I normally try not to overdo it, as a means to prevent damage to the Cyber World... "
He took a runner's stance, with his sword held up behind him -- the cavity down the center of it beginning to glow with a white light to signify that it was gathering energy.
" ... It's going to take more than that to fight you, though. I have to give this everything. "
In a way, they were words of respect to this enemy, perhaps even words of warning. He hadn't fought with full force in quite some time, as even his incident that resulted in Aqua Net's partial deletion was a more controlled output of force, and during the events that transpired at the end of the Juno Era, the falling of his satellite could have just as heavily been contributed to Phenoix, Ruin, and especially Gate who were all there with him at the time.
It'd take time though, and his enemy didn't give him much of that.
The Network slowed down to a halt in order to buy Warrior that time -- uncertain of whether the enemy would be affected, a few bolts of lightning struck at the foe during the Temporal Pause just to verify whether he could respond during it or not.
This was the herald of his greatest assault; a silence before a storm.

The man before him certainly lived up to the moniker he adopted for himself. He had fought with concern for that which was around him, but this was a challenge much unlike those that came before the other eras. Where camaderie and good intent alone was what allowed one to eventually seize the day. No, this would require a show of force, and not just any show of force. As he was aware all the brute force attempts in the years he had witnessed them were just not enough. Even their most advanced attempts, in his eyes, could use work. That had remained so due to how stagnant the world had become. Even now, the Warrior showed signs of one of the steps toward progress that was taken. It was an artificial advancement, progress made that was outside of what others would consider natural. But evolution was a matter of course and time. The world denied to take those steps further, instead marching away in wary fear rather than soldier on in confidence. They failed to achieve further evolution and as a result, the status quo remained. And that status quo... was nowhere near enough to topple him on its own. As the Network began to slow around them, he couldn't help but be curious about it: would this one have the potential to rise above those masses? It was a fleeting curiosity however, as he wasn't like his peers. Maintaining that level of interest was difficult for him.
"Indeed. If you want this to even be considered a battle, you need to cast aside those concerns. The output that you need to contest with me is on a much grander scale, after all. If you come at me too lightly... the world is what will suffer the consequences."
It was clear enough that not all was paused as it should be. But the flurry of attacks still were halted at the time, merely peering on to the Warrior to make his move. For now at the very least, time was on his side. And it would be now or never.

This part was a warning -- much like he had said before, he'd cause damage if unrestrained. In the past, he needed help from others like Fate to wreak this havoc, but he'd developed over time to be able to cause it on his own. He valued the Cyber World greatly though, more than most humans in fact, as his closest friends were digital beings that only had this home. It was often more worth it to lose a fight than to contribute to any of the destruction that would have become of it, an act that Embera and Zane had witnessed firsthand on several occasions that probably made more sense when one considered that in the wake of any avoided attack was a scarred world.
This figure made it clear that conceding would not work, though. While it was an uncomfortable sacrifice to make, Warrior knew that causing smaller destruction to prevent a greater one was the demand right now. It may not have been his world to defend, but he called it a home nonetheless.
" I'll give the world my all. If it needs more, my part will still be paid. "
It was clear that the pause didn't fully affect this enemy -- he was being allowed to show his full force. It was a mercy he'd accept, given the situation, but one he could not compensate for what was at sake. His charge completed without hinderance and now the world return to its normal speed.

The motion was soundless as, in an instant, Warrior appeared opposite the side his enemy, his blade now held forward. Slash marks littered the air between them from where he had swung his sword during his lightspeed dash, each one ripping apart reality and exposing the source code of the network. Green 0's and 1's bled through the tears that hovered in the air, a black void on the other side of the tears giving a glimpse of what the Cyber World looked like at the binary level.

The sound of the next swing was too much for the wounded Cyber World to process, though visually it appeared as just another strike of the sword. The aftermath was of apocalyptic proportions, though.
A force of wind emanated from the weeapon like a sonicboom in all directions, blinding anyone in the area with a white light as if to veil the unspeakable transformation it brought about the land. When it at last subsided, the area was no more.
The trees, ground, and sky all replaced by a black void littered only with the 0's and 1's that shifted about, unable to reconstruct the Endless Abyss that now stood between the Northern Peaks and Com Square -- no part of the Arbor Woods remained, and for a long time no part would return.
Wind clamped Warrior's ankles to keep him airborne, at least for the time being. If not for their ability to hover, or at least access to some form of Air Shoes, the two present would sink endlessly into the network's new namesake, eternally falling with only a jack out as their means to escape it.

As the scene resolved, Warrior's sword suddenly re-ignited with the brilliant glow that it had before -- renewed power surging from the cavity and bleeding down onto the handle, even searing his hand. And with another powerful swing of the weapon, even the black void was shattered by the attack, leaving behind a white expanse that truly had no means to ever recover.

The ear-bleeding ringing of the double-tapped "network" was endless, screaming eternally like a flat-line as even the most rudimentary functions were completely fractured by the assault.
These were the collateral damages of his attacks.
How his foe handled the brunt was yet to be seen, but it was certain that Sharo's networks were permanently scarred by this encounter for potentially the sake of the rest of the net.
As he demonstrated before with Feint's and Xylia's life in Aqua Net, he demonstrated here again: if pushed to a point, he was willing to make a sacrifice for what he believed to be the greater good. The double edge of that sword was never easy to take, but necessity was a ruthless adversary at times.

That was the correct mentality to have. The destruction caused by one was to prevent the greater evil at large. If a lesser evil was used to prevent a greater one, there would always be merit in cutting that deal with evil itself. What a nice little surprise to find tucked away so neatly like this. As Warrior made his move so too did the weaponry he carried, the firearms releasing a burst of rounds not at Warrior himself, but the enigma he was facing. The wind made them wildly surge around him as lasers and bullets encased him, holding strong against the attacks that ruptured the very reality of the Cyber World around them. And it was when the climatic strike was about to make its showing that the Unknown began to turn to adjust to the incoming attack that rang out, shattering the woods around them in a devastating show of force that was accomplished on his own merit. Warrior had come much farther than he had in years past as someone brushed aside by his peers. And he even went for the golden rule of striking twice, as the devastation reared its head a second time.
That second time was met with the golden scepter however, though the deed was done as it removed what was once the Arbor Woods from the face of their world. It was on the agenda as it were, but this was nice to have done early rather than expending the additional effort all their own.
"You've earned my respect, Warrior. You are quite the sound individual. And so I return your attempt in kind."
He was correct in that they both were floating above the ruined abyss below now. And so the wind surged once more, aiming to rip from Warrior his flesh and bones alike and like dust behind as several mirrors appeared in the area as the weapons fired once more. The shots were wild yet calculated, firing at him while hitting a mirror and flying back multiple times, enshrouding the area in a devastating salvo of rounds as cutting winds soared about. The gem of his rod began to gleam for a moment as well, as if to show that there was more to the assault... but nothing came of it. A reprieve from the barrage of attacks that followed Warrior's own devastation. And yet with that reprieve was the first time Warrior had felt it during this encounter: an overwhelming force. A power that was begging to released not unlike the very grave he etched into the world itself.

The enemy survived. A part of him expected it, yet he was still surprised by it -- though he wasn't given much time to be in awe before the myriad of lasers came screaming toward him.
Using the air as his footstool, he sprinted from his spot in a path tangential to where his foe was standing, seeming to run a circle around him as the lasers tracked his movements through his evasive maneuver. He utilized the lack of ground to the fullest, sinking and ascending through the void to evade the lasers that came at him laterally. The whole display was quite a spectacle of three-dimensional dodging, though a bit lackluster compared to someone else he knew.
He was winded from the movement by the end of it -- only having enough energy to outrun the assault thanks entirely to the break he had gotten during the Pause from earlier. His eyes widened at the glowing of the staff, knowing that he had nothing left to deal with what came next.
" ... "
It almost seemed like he had accepted what was coming in that moment, but the mysterious foe withheld it instead. Warrior's own last hurrah had been charging during his laser dance: an orb of white light in his hand that was impossible not to notice, even in the white void which they were floating.
He hurled it at the enemy. An obvious final attempt at leaving any meaningful damage, but it exploded unceremoniously in the space between them, even lingering for a moment before fading away.
" ... So that's it, then? "
It wasn't the only thing fading away: the winds that cupped his ankles were beginning to faintly whither -- while he was once able to hover eye level with his opponent, he sank ever so slowly and was now eye-to-chest level with him, the void below patiently waiting to consume its creator.
He sounded more calmed down now. It was really all he had; what came next was uncertain, but it wasn't in his power to decide anymore.

It was a valiant last attempt as well, though it too was swallowed up by the ravenous winds. It felt as if that wind could encompass the world and beyond without satisfaction for its gluttony, but the effort had been made on Warrior's behalf. He had made his stand against the odds and was better for it. The knowledge he had would be helpful, just as the knowledge he bestowed was beneficial to himself as well.
"That's it, then. This should be enough of a satisfactory showing for her as well. Catch your breath and go on now. Time still isn't on your side."
Who he was speaking of was hard to say, as all that could be discerned from this would be their gender now. And another strange thing then was Warrior, unlike with this unknown here, feeling as though something else was here with him now. As if beneath that massive abyss that he opened up, something much larger than life itself was lurking in wait. As if the abyss was staring back at him. Maybe it wasn't his imagination either, as the unknown's gaze was pointedly toward the abyss then as well. Just what was happening to the world...?

He expected to be finished off just then, but in the end... this wasn't life or death? A bit of guilt came over him for destroying more than a fair portion of a continent over anything less severe than that, but it was true that they both learned from the encounter. He would have asked who "she" was, but circumstances prevented that...
" ! "
The wind that held him up gave way at last, gravity taking over him instantaneously and sending him plummeting down into the chasm he created. Like a flickering golden flame in the white void, his scarf trailed behind his body as he gradually became nothing more than a spec from the figure's point of view.
The ominous presence within the void inclined him to continue his descent, but he was both depleted and alone, so the wiser choice was to take the reprieve granted to him by his enemy to recover and learn from this. There was certainly more going on than he had first assumed, there was no doubt about that.

Everyone had stepped out now, each in areas of their design. That meant their real target simply had to find the incoming snare. But that snare had much more bite than even he did, even if he would never vocalize that. And the rest was... yes, the rest was stepping on some toes again. He gazed down into the abyss that seemed to gaze back, but ultimately it didn't return as it once was like the other sights had. No, rather the expanse seemed to disappear in its entirely, leaving just him floating in the void that was before eventually he disappeared as well. His fellow guardian would be entertaining their old compatriot soon, so these next two phases would be left up to the others he imagined.
