Silverhorn's head raises to the side ever so slightly at Genesis' words, looking at him intently for a moment before responding.
Silverhorn: I see. It takes a lot to admit a mistake like that.
...Silverhorn's voice was strangely sincere as he spoke that line, calling exactly what this meeting was actually about.
Silverhorn: So how did you end up having to make that decision in the first place? What spurred you into the fight that put you here in the first place?

*Looking back at it, he wasn't exactly the best at admitting to mistakes. It was always someone else's fault with him that started the mistake that spiraled out of it. Thinking about it even now, he started this because of the events that took place at the Netopian Border. They tried to restrain him, he resisted, and they barred his entry back into Electopia. He moved on to the lake and found out the strange happenings in Netopia along with that strange machine that he dismantled. As a result, he eventually staged the attack on Rammount with Resonance after seeing how things were playing out. From there he was framed for the things that they had set into motion that he served as the spark for and in further retaliation, he was set up again in Electopia as he went to help them out when he caught wind of New Life being under attack. And now he was set up for whatever story they likely were going to spin for Sharo that took place. What spurred him into the fight was something as simple as the fight happened to fall into his lap and he pressed on with it. A series of ochestrated events that led to him doing what he always did, something Vanguard had agreed that they were playing off of quite well with them one and all. So this one was related to them starting off trying to arrest him and then also giving Vanguard the olive branch. Different strokes for different folks.*
"An attempted arrest for my past actions in Netopia that destroyed their property that caused them to want to put me away. I resisted arrest, mounted a retaliation, and kept up the retaliation after it didn't go so well the first time due to not accepting their ways."

Silverhorn nods his head and looks down to Genesis thoughtfully.
Silverhorn: Yes, the records show that you were the spear-head of the Revolution a few years ago. Have to say that I always agreed with your stance; calling our kind into subservience is terrible for so many digital lives.
Silverhorn pauses and seems to cough under his breath, turning his huge eyes upwards for a moment as in obvious thought.
Silverhorn: So then that begs the question; why does history repeat itself now? What great injustice has the current government done to elicit such ire from you?

*Meeting someone that shared that mindset here served as a bit of an uplifting feeling in all honesty. It was a stance that he would never change. They were the ones who caused the problem and they were the ones who solved it, so why were they the ones who were suddenly at fault? Being licensed, chained down, and forced at their beck and call was the exact thing that caused the issue. They created someone who was a slave to their designs and it almost cost them everything and then they learned absolutely nothing from it. And history began to repeat itself with the NIA that showed themselves up years after that fight had finally been won. They spun the tale that they wanted to make sure that powerful beings didn't flaunt their power in destructive ways and to deal with those larger threats, something that sounds nice on paper. But then that was just another front that they made. And that was something that he did draw issue with, perhaps another part of his underlying reason to want to head to Netopia, his eyes narrowing ever so slightly at the thought of what was to come once he did return to the home of the NIA.*
"The current government didn't change anything. They took the very things that said they would fight again and sought to weaponize them in plain sight, be it the NIA with the Cybeasts at Rammount or the ONB and the Life Virus at Element City. The NIA looked at Navis as tools to their own end to put down ones who they considered too big or troublesome. It's the start of another movement that should be quelled before it gets out of hand and has to escalate like the Revolution."

Silverhorn gives a slight laugh under his breath, this time devoid of the condescending veil that he'd put up to begin with. His deep, booming voice came out as surprisingly sincere, as if laughing in agreement with Genesis.
Silverhorn: I can't really offer much of an argument there. I for one am just a contractor who's been licensed to help the good folks that end up down here, but the war-like ways that are being flaunted on the surface aren't something that I can strictly agree with
Silverhorn pauses for a moment and looks to Genesis probingly.
Silverhorn: So let me ask you this then; let's say that the Revolution had won their crusade carte-blanche. You took down every government facility that you opposed, and got every Navi that supported the license system to surrender despite their own beliefs. What would have happened with the world then? How was it to be governed when your reason to fight was no longer on the table?

*That was a fair stance to take on the matter. As a contractor one needed to remain a somewhat neutral partner on matters, which was understandable. Though the next question posed did cause him to pause for a moment in consideration. If they had won in such a dominant fashion, taking down the regime and having to build up from the pieces that were there, what would it have become?*
"I would want to say that the losing side would get their fair share, but that's easy enough to say. The ones who supported it were just as firm in their beliefs as we were. Even after they surrendered, it's hard to say exactly what to do to assauge their situation. We'd have done our best with their concerns if we could."
*If they had just dominated the other side and forced them to submit, what would make them any different than the oppressors they defeated? And if they left nothing to govern in return, then what sort of anarachy would rise up as a result of their battle? He had never quite seen himself as the figure that would lead in the aftermath of that battle. He didn't see himself as the visionary that could lead them all properly and trying to run a world off of the strong was folly in and of itself, leading to his clash with Forte. If his reason to fight was off of the table, then... what exactly would he do from there? What had he done besides fighting? In the beginning it was something done as self-improvement that had gradually changed into what it was now: fighting for a cause outside of simply finding limits to surpass for himself.*
"I'm not sure how I would govern it myself. Looking back on it, I've been a fighter for so long that I've never considered the conclusion of those battles. I've known my way around battlefields, but in times when fighting is unnecessary, where I sit at then is an unknown for me."

Silverhorn: Well, you've certainly shown yourself to be a man capable of reaching his goals, Genesis. Few Navis have your renown. Your status as the figure-head of the Revolution wasn't just because you dress well or know how to speak, and I'd say it wasn't just because of your fighting prowess either. It was due to the fact that you always achieved your goals, no matter how distant and no matter how great, and everyone can respect that, even if they don't admit it on the outside.
Silverhorn pauses for just a moment, his eyes narrowing thoughtfully.
Silverhorn: It's such a powerful gift. It's important to make sure that it'd being focused in the right direction.
Silverhorn's eyes return to normal, looking up in thought again.
Silverhorn: Alright, so let me ask you a hypothetical question, Genesis; let's say that you were stripped of your armor, personal strength, and weaponry entirely. Then you're suddenly put in the middle of the Undernet and told to fend for yourself. You're a Navi who's extremely resilient, so I don't see you just giving up and taking what life throws your way. So what would you plan to do in this situation?

*Achieving goals... right. That was something he had to his name for certain. He may have suffered setbacks and delays but ultimately it all boiled down to him accomplishing what he set out to do. It was what helped him get to where he was and the strongest motivator for why his presence alone caused concern. Aside from the destruction that came in his wake, it was a sign that he was there to get something done. He had never quite looked at it that way. A powerful gift to be focused in the right direction... well, he would keep up the honesty right now. The hypothetical situation posed to him was actually something he was rather familiar with.*
*Familiar with it because that was his first introduction to the world at large. They were dumped out of the lab into the Undernet with no heads or tails of what to make of the situation. On top of that they were also against one another by process of their design, the eight that still remained. It was far from an experience he would want to repeat, but it had certainly been a decent way to start life: on the backfoot. It let him build the fortitude he had in adversity and maintain it even more over the years as that adversity grew greater in intensity. It helped that it happened to him again thanks to Vinyl, but that mostly made talking to Gravity Beetle a lot more difficult that day. And it was in his nature to do exactly one thing in that scenario that he would never lie about to begin with.*
"In that predicament I wouldn't give up for starters. I'm still alive, which means I can still fend for myself and turn things around. My armor, my strength, and my weapons are all things that I'd want back. If I lost them and was tossed into that den of wolves then I would have to build myself back up to take it all back from whoever took it from me."

Silverhorn closes his eyes and nods his massive head for a moment.
Silverhorn: No one could fault you for approaching the issue like that, it falls under Maslow's hierarchy of needs perfectly; you would focus on what you need to survive first before moving on. Literally any sane Navi would do the exact same. So then, shouldn't everyone be given the same benefit of the doubt, including a government that is trying to rebuild from the ground up?
Silverhorn pauses again for a moment before he continues.
Silverhorn: I can't tell you how to think. And honestly; I wouldn't want to if I could, but at times we all can get so wrapped up in the situations that we find ourselves in that we don't always pay attention to what exactly is wrapping us up in the first place, or what it's tying us to. At times like these, we need to make sure that our goals really are what we want, or if they're just ghosts of what we used to want, but can't admit that we need to move on.
Silverhorn laughs under his breath again.
Silverhorn: But I think that's enough of my blathering on for today, I've done nothing but talk since you got here. Before we finish up for now, do you have any questions for me

*They did deserve a chance to at least try at something, even if they had already squandered it a few times already. But there was something besides the regime that he had to focus on fighting and taking back. If the rest of their government managed to be successful, then that was how the cards fell. As long as they didn't ruin the world in the movement and had improvement, how could he argue with progress?*
"It's been plenty insightful, honestly. It helps to have people move on from chasing ghosts and moving on with their lives."
*...But he wouldn't stand for it. There existed someone that could no longer exist in the world alongside him. Until one of them were removed in their entirety, he couldn't be dissuaded. ...He'd destroy as much as he had to in order to see them in pieces. Because his wasn't a ghost. But they would be. And then he could move on, because the issue would have been taken care. And it was this obsession that burned far too passionately inside of him. One that was far from healthy for him. But he did have a few questions of his own.*
"I do have a question actually. What made you decide to work down here?"

Silverhorn's eyes go the ceiling again as he ponders the question.
Silverhorn: Well, it seems that the previous warden was rather cruel and was removed from the position. I feel like I can be a bit more fair to those in a bad position and well...
Silverhorn takes a step towards Genesis and looms over him, showcasing nearly 20 feet of height and a remarkably powerful body before backing down.
Silverhorn: ...I have a bit of a psychological advantage over those who aren't as friendly. So here I am.

*Size could certainly serve as a daunting way to gain the advantage over someone else. Xion called it 'picking on the little guy', but he was already someone who complained about the larger things in life. He, on the other hand, just had a lot of mountains shoved in front of him be they figuratively or literally. This one was a little bit of both if you were the unfriendly sort. While it was no doubt unfortunate for the previous warden whoever they may be, that did leave one final question to get off of the table. That one who wanted to play chess had asked what he deserved to end up here or something to that effect, as he was largely tuning him out. But that wasn't exactly the important question to be asking. It related back to what he had heard hours before, being held back from their destiny.*
"Then one final question for today. What needs to be done to return to the surface?"

Silverhorn: Generally you'll be held here for a few months if cooperative, longer if not. Really, it depends on how much of a threat the Navis in charge think you'll be that determines it, though today was definitely getting off on a good foot.
Silverhorn glances towards the direction that Genesis had entered the room from just as the doorway re-appears from the darkness,
Silverhorn: If you feel satisfied with our time here, am I safe to assume that you can return to your holding unit unsupervised? I intend to move you all to more comfortable units soon, but in the meantime I'd ask that you tolerate the less than perfect conditions until I can make the proper arrangements.

*Held here for a few months if cooperative and more otherwise? This whole situation would certainly reach a conclusion in that time and he would have an even harder time getting back what he lost already and getting more than a little even. After their last display if this was based on how much of a threat they could pose, he could probably play off of that instead of having to give in to desperation and start acting out. But that would be a fruitless endeavor as it stood as well, which meant seeing if he could do this the long way, nodding his head.*
"I can return unsupervised, thanks."
*This was entirely different than he was expecting too. The living conditions improving would be nice, but he didn't see that as entirely necessary as he stood up and started back toward his chamber. He was in a crossroad and deciding how to go from here, the two roads at least plain and simple for him.*

Shortly after Genesis returns to his cell, another set os small guards enter. This time they walk up to Vanguard's cell and open it, awaiting his reaction.
