Our top story tonight; Everlasting Peace? We're currently in an extended period of unprecedented peace; a period in which no cities have been destroyed, and no networks attacked for a period of at least 14 months. This is a phenomenon that seems to occur every 6-12 months, and experts are currently baffled. We can only hope that this peace stays for the sake of all of Mankind and Navikind alike.
Residents in Netopia have reported strange, unexpected quakes today. For reasons unknown, it seems that a large area of Netopia centered around the ruins of Rammount Castle have been suffering frequent yet intermittent quakes, some powerful enough to knock objects off of shelves. Scientists cannot currently explain the phenomenon, but are currently looking into it.
Just how do Viruses still exist? That's a question that scientists at the OEL are trying to answer. Due to the introduction of the Colonel and Iris systems to delete viruses and repair net-damage respectively by the Hikari family roughly 500 years ago, the net was largely free of these malicious bits of data for the majority of net-history. However, within the past two decades, viral activity has been on the rise to the point of being a common sight once again, and the Colonel and Iris systems seem powerless to stop it. After intense research and looking through historical documentation, lead researcher Tuttle of the OEL has issued the following statement:
"A wizard did it".
What ever happened to the License system? Historical archive analysts have gone back to the previous decade and asked just this Question. The License system, which was put into international law by the ONB, required that all Navis be scanned and their data registered in an international database for future reference. The system saw the light of day after a Navi only known as "the criminal" perpetrated mass-data-theft from the Electopian central server, yet was unable to be identified due to his strange data signature. The criminal's identity has never been discovered to this day. When asked about their research, the analysts had this to say:
"We honestly cannot say what happened to the license system. It's almost as if the officials became bored of it and simply moved on to other things."
Loath Enterprises is celebrating its 1,000th corporate acquisition this month with the purchase of "Ma Navi's second hand chips", an Electopian thrift-store located near Kotobuki. The store is set to be demolished later this month to make room for a new parking lot.
