Freestyle RP Battle Minimum 1 turn Intro each, may extend Minimum 3 turns of battle each, may extend Story versions irrelevant to activate. Setting; B.B.S. Arranged meeting to spar in the Forest Net. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The sun was on its way down in the area, the sky carrying a pinkish orange hue. It easily cast light down into a clearing in the Forest Net, allowing one to see much better than anywhere under the thick canopy in the vicinity. An evening breeze came through, almost silently. Only the sound of the grass stirring across the clearing betrayed the winds movement. It was a decently wide clearing, almost 100 feet across, with only an occasional large rock peppered across the area. Upon one of those rocks, a cloaked Navi with a full helm stood waiting.
A posting had been found on the BBS, someone was looking for a strong sparring partner. He had seen it, and felt himself qualified to accept the request. He knew he was not the strongest by any means, especially given his condition, but one can't improve with out pushing their limits. Pushing against those limits generally offered the best learning experiences as well.
A shadow of one of the trees on the edge of the clearing fell over the Navi, the sun steadily dipping lower into the horizon. He had been waiting for some time already, but the clearing was not the easiest to find, so it was expected. He could have suggested a different clearing, closer to the entrance to the network, but this one was almost guaranteed to keep outside interruptions from happening. He wasn't sure how strong the other Navi was, but he figured they should be able to cut loose here pretty well with no issues.

This was a rather nice place. Not just in scenery, but in it being a rather ideal setting for the situation that was going to unfold. He hadn't expected such a prompt response. He hadn't expected a response at all, if he were to be honest. But there had been one, and so here he was. Walking up to the clearing was a plain looking Navi, dressed in blue and silver armor, spinning a black 'stick'.
"So you're the one who accepted?"
He called out to the cloaked Navi waiting. It wasn't too hard to guess that, given that there wasn't anyone else. Assuming that this was legitimate of course. There was always the chance that this was more of a bait than anything else. But this would be the test after all.
"We can go whenever."
He said, with a shrug. This would be a rather interesting thing, either way. It was difficult to judge just how this one would fight. But it looked like it could be an interesting one nonetheless.

The cloaked Navi would nod in response to the inquiry. He had been trying to gauge the other Navi as he walked into the clearing. He seemed rather, plain to but it bluntly. Nothing yet giving any evidence that this Navi was exceptionally skill in battle per-say. His mental analysis was broken when the other Navi spoke once more, bringing his attention back to the fact they were to fight now.
The cloaked Navi stepped off his perch, one arm emerging from under the cloak, revealing an arm that looked to be coated in cracked ice. "Very well. Til one concedes?" A hollow sounding voice would ask, as the frosty digits opened and closed into a fist a few times. After a few repetitions, the hand would stay clenched as a fist as frost seemed to emanate from him as the temperature started to drop in the area.
As a portion of the frost fell to the ground around him, more yet remained in the air, circling around him as he continued mentally sizing his opponent up. He decided to start slow, gauge how the other Navi responded to his attacks first before trying anything too fancy. A cracking sound could be heard echoing through the clearing, as more lines appeared across his icy limb. Then with a soft shattering sound, from the elbow down seemed to break apart entirely, several small shards of ice floating around the now where his forearm had been. The shards fanned out, each aligning with the other Navi, shooting towards him at different angles.

"Sure."
Regis responded in kind, as he prepped his defenses. That hand motion was rather... strange. So, an Ice-user? This would be an interesting bout. A number of the ones he had fought preferred their durability, in part to what their Element could do after all. And he had trained to make it so that did not mean much before him, in most cases. But this was a rather interesting method to attack with, Regis doing little more than raising an eyebrow at the shattered limb.
"I suppose you won't be missing that."
He said, as he began to move. Fast as they were, they weren't at a level to be uncomfortable to deal with. At least, not yet. The cloaked Navi was likely using this as more of a test. He turned his body to the side, dodging a few of the shards as the black 'stick' spun, batting the rest away. Well, that was fine with him. It was par for course when many fought him, after all.
One of the ends of the black 'stick' pointed towards the Ice-user, as a blast of light erupted forth from it. Larger than his opponent's own attacks, yet not quite at the same speed. He continued with his motions, swinging his weapon another time as a wave erupted forth from the ground, a slice of energy heading towards the masked opponent as a follow up.Along the side of the black object, three white circles appeared, shining.

It wasn't uncommon for someone to waste time and energy to leap clear of such an attack, or overreact in their attempt to shield themselves from the shards. But the precision and confidence in how the other Navi responded to the attack told him this was a much more dangerous opponent than he might appear to be.
The shards after missing their mark would make a long loop back into the air, making their way back towards the cloaked Navi. Before they arrived though, he would be forced to react to his opponents retaliation. The object he had been wielding didn't appear to have any capacity to shoot anything, let alone a blast like it just had. He was caught flat footed, with no time to evade. Instead, with a mild tremor in the area, three pillars of ice surged up from the ground, spaced fairly evenly around the perimeter of the clearing. While the temperature didn't seem to change, unlike before, the amount of frost that seemed to surround the cloaked Navi seemed to increase tenfold.
Ice started to form across the cloak, with out seeming to weigh it down any more than the frost that was already there. The Blast found its mark in the newly formed ice, though much to the surprise of the icy navi, that patch of ice shattered, and he found himself staggering back a couple of paces to hold his footing. The power behind the blast was much more dangerous than he expected, which was worrisome to say the least. The follow up attack, a large wave of energy now bore down upon him. Having seen what the blast by its self could do, he erred on the side of caution, and seemed to instantly flash freeze all the frost swirling around him, encasing him in a dome of ice as the wave washed over him. Unlike before, the ice seemed to hold. After the wave passed over him, the dome turned into a fine frozen mist once again.
The icy Navi took a couple deep breaths as he held out his right arm, gone from the elbow down still. The shards of ice that had been hanging in the air above them moved towards his arm, swirling around it. After a moment, a soft crackling of ice could be heard, and the arm appeared to be as it was before his attack, whole, if but coated in ice still. He held it up towards the other Navi, moving each digit separately, as a reply to his last comment. "Unconventional. Effective usually."
He had to choose his method of attack carefully now. This rather plain looking Navi was far from plain. He thus far seemed to be more than comfortable with fighting from a range, so the obvious choice would be to make it a close quarters fight. Maybe his reaction time was slower than he thought, and the distance gave him the time he needed.
The plan decided upon, he started forward to close the distance between the two fighters. The ice coated arm retreated beneath the cloak once more, his left arm appearing in its place, though the hand appeared to be almost mechanical in nature, blade looking digits rather than fingers. As he got within arms reach, he seemed to falter for a second, the icy blue glow from beneath the visor of his helm pulsing twice rapidly. He was trying to determine the best place to strike, finally choosing his targets. Three swift swipes of the clawed hand, one towards the Navi's face, one at his leg, and the last an attempted deeper cut towards the arm holding the strange weapon of his.

Hm. That could be troublesome. The pillars, while not causing any adverse effects for himself, seemed to be strengthening the cloaked Navi's defenses through sheer cold. In general, allowing something to persist that benefited the opponent was not the way to go. His first attack bore root though, and it seemed to put the Ice Navi on the backfoot. That was forcing out more of the other's defenses though. Both a good and bad thing he supposed. That still was definitely interesting though, watching with a tilted head as the arm reformed from the ice shards whole, albeit frozen.
"I try to be unusual in ways."
The Navi returned with a faint grin. That was a rather bothersome method of attack though. If he hadn't been on the guard, that could've turned out a bit more dangerous. He would have to watch how the other fought carefully. Regis gave a small hum, as he watched the cloaked one close distance. So he thought that close-quarters was his weak point? Well then... He tried to backpedal at the first strike, that claw causing a gash along his cheek. The fighter was more focused on the follow ups, having a feeling that those would be more vital to guard against, particularly for how he fought.
It seemed like he was right, pulling his leg up to avoid that one, even as his 'stick' swung out to meet the clawed hand. The force of the blow pushed him backwards, skidding along the ground, even as he spun that motion into momentum, spinning as his weapon swung out. A wave of light spilled forward, aiming itself at his opponent and one of the pillars, before he stepped forward, as he finally revealed what exactly it was that he used.
His hand grabbed at the top of the object, before the Navi continued his rush. Well, if he wanted to go at it in close combat, he would just oblige by that, wouldn't he? A shine flickered, as he drew a katana from the sheathe. The blade shined with a faint light, as the swordsman struck out in the same instance as his draw. A fourth circle shined along the edge of the sheathe.
