"If you keep it tame you guys can just do it around here. Shouldn't be that bad, right?"
Sure he was used to Genesis and his rather untamed mayhem, but it should be good enough where they wouldn't mess everything up if he focused fire. Sort of. Not entirely. It'd be slightly bad but hey, that was every fight with Genesis. He wasn't fond of people avoiding for long so he would blow up everything. It was particularly effective on the opponents who were there to defend the general area. Having to do their job meant they had to deal with it or more or less fail their job at the very same time.
Just turned out a lot of his opponents were those sort of people now as a terrorist. Collateral damage served its purposes fairly well. As is he was moving out of the way so he wasn't clipped by accident. He wasn't up for a match with a man who earned the title of Overlord from others rather than self-proclaimed.

*Keeping it tame wasn't exactly in part of his skillset. He was someone who was made to keep things short and simple. Swift and concise. As ruinous and outright devastating as possible, all in one package rather than in the masses. He was given numerous abilities to make certain of this should there be the rare time that he could actually not blow something up outright, but generally being able to wipe cities off the map with ease made it where that wasn't a real problem. But so long as he aimed his attacks the right way here, the landscape should be fine. This would make for a good test all its own for him too, then.*
"Alright, we can do so around here. Nothing else got ruined in that first fight, so this one should be the same at least."

Regis gave a small hum, thinking that statement over. He supposed the gunner had a point. Well, that comment was more directed at the Overlord than himself, given the rumors for the Navi's strength, and Regis' own lack of such destructive might. Well, it would be more on Genesis to regulate his strength more than anything, on one end. Since it wasn't like the swordsman would be able to contend with too many of those blows head on.
"As long as we can manage that, I'm fine with this then.
He did still want to maintain this area, after all. The sheathed blade spun his hand once more. He couldn't help a small grin that appeared on his face. Lose or win, it was bound to be an experience for himself. He couldn't guarantee it for Genesis was the only disappoint. But either way, he was fine with this.
"How do you want to start off?"

*Like in the fight before, a blade came to hand much unlike what he used before. The obsidian partner that he had for years now, Fate. Fighting alongside Fate was something reserved for fights that would have a firm conclusion rather than a sparring match unless his hand was forced, but this time he was willing to test something in this sparring match as well. He would test several other things in this fight as well. He had to make sure he had fonder control himself with all the time he took to get here. The K-Unit gave him at least a few doubts in that regard, some that he would face head on right now.*
"We can go for a one stroke match or a full match, whichever one fits you best."

Regis spun the scabbard and blade around idly with practiced ease. It was an interesting 'question', if one could consider it that. After all, he didn't really have any delusions. Rather than that, he was looking for which would provide the most for an experience. And, while a one stroke match would give him better odds of 'surviving' the encounter, in a sense, that wasn't why he had sought out the Navi in the first place.
"It's not about saying I stood before your blade. It is about me trying to surpass it."
It was a simple statement, from a simple Navi. He most likely would not. Not at his current level. But why should he allow that knowledge to stop him from atleast trying? If he never moved, never forced himself into these types of fights, he would just stagnate and wither. And that was not the life he wanted.
"I suppose we shall see how long I can stand."
The purpose of meeting this one would be realized atleast. And what he got out of it... would be what he got out of it, he supposed. No more, no less. But he certainly felt he had more to gain, as he stopped his play with his weapon, holding it in a relaxed, yet tight grip.

"In respect to that I'll show you what I can do. It just so happens to be my most contained motions at that."
*The cords on the hilt of his sword move, burrowing into his hands without him even flinching. It was the cross he bore for his blunder back then, one that he still carried now for the decision he had to live with now. Moving forward rather than staying hung up on the past, especially when you had surpassed it now was how it had come to be now thanks to the influence of those around him. He was someone who could be caught up in the past, someone who was caught up in for the longest time. But dwelling on it forever and doing nothing about it wouldn't change anything either. And so now he took action, for what he thought was right. And for what he ultimately thought would be better for others at the same time. His approach would always be the same for such matters, an approach that he could tell many didn't agree with. But when all you had was one way forward, then you followed that path resolutely.*

Regis couldn't help but give a small grin. Ultimately, this would only consist of a few moves. In that short exchange, could he find something that would make it count...? Well. It wasn't like there were a huge number of options to choose from. So he would just try it this way. Perhaps the surprise would be enough of an edge to make it count? But at the same time, maybe it wouldn't. There was no option left but to try, in any case.
"Let's get started then."
A blast of light erupted from one of the ends of the sheathe, as the swordsman moved forward. He did two quick, sudden strikes to follow up, both aimed at Genesis. It was a more careful style of fighting than he usually employed. But he figured that it would be one of the only ways to go about forcing something from the Onyx Overlord.

*Genesis made a simple move himself, lifting his arm to meet the oncoming blows. They had crashed against him to no avail, the earth underneath them shifting a bit. To better allow it to take any possible blows they would be lashing out with soon enough. In the meantime his sword arm was ready, black feathers falling off of the blade as not even a dull shine came from the obsidian blade as he swung. It was a roar like thunder, capable of cleaving apart two people just from a swing like this, a swing that happened consistently and casually as six more followed the first.*

What a brutal offensive. Ordinarily, he wouldn't want to go head on against any of those. But... Genesis did not make for an ordinary opponent, did he? However slim it might be, the only one he could do anything was to catch the Overlord offguard. So given how everyone else had fought against the Navi's attacks...
The swordsman charged head, 4 circles glowing white along the side of the scabbard. He pushed forward, almost phasing through the first blow, before the brutal onslaught seemed to catch him. And as it came to an end, the challenger showing with tears and cuts all across his body, seeming to barely hang on, his katana was seen in an odd position. Locked against the obsidian blade of his opponent, the swordsman gave a thin grin, even as chunks of himself were missing, data streaming out of his wounds. His scabbard flickered to life with a glow, as he twirled in the same motion. It changed its shape into that of... a spear? A black shaft, as though it were the sheathe itself, with a singular bottom silver blade at the bottom, and a three-way pronged tip at the top. The weapon glowed brightly, its image flickering for a brief moment as though replaced with a large white blade.
"Flicker in a fading end, Azure Apocalypse."
With a glowing tri-tipped head, the injured threw himself into a motion of moves. Sweeping low, he tried to force Genesis into the air, as he rose up, a series of strikes flashing out. Seemignly phantom images of the dual-wielder followed suit, running upwards against the Overlord in the continuous assault, before the spearman dropped down, an explosion overtaking the area.
Regis skidded to the side, coughing as he did so while brandishing both weapons. Honestly... he had expected devastation but that was likely his last round, wasn't it...? A ring of light appeared around both sword and spear, the Navi barely hanging on to continuing this fight.

*He could admit to some honest surprise here, to see his opponent meeting his attack head on like this. He would admit that he was more used to opponents not directly challenging him like this. So he couldn't help but smile at this as well, the crimson aura coating the obsidian blade beginning to well with a different kind of power. Another surprise was that the sword and sheathe became a spear now too, so his initial guesses on the weapon were off and it was something he was more used to dealing with instead. He didn't move to blow, instead watching the attack as his legs were swept from under him and he was sent upward, the phantom images moving after him in their pursuit and striking him head on. In fact all of the blows struck their intended mark, engulfing the swordsman in the explosion that took place. And when the dust had settled, Genesis stood up in the epicenter of the blast, slightly worse for wear. More than he had been against the golem before.*
"You do attack pretty well as is. And plenty of room for improvements, something you already know I feel."
*It would be disrespectful to not at least see this through, and so the darkness swelled around his blade. It took on a face unbefitting his demeanor, like madness given shape as a sort of skull stood out above it all. This skull steadily melded itself into the face of a jester, sneer and all, before he thrust his sword forward and unleashed the darkness. It split off into four heads after, heading straight at him as Genesis knew he could handle it. Each of them had shifted in flight in adaptation to the target, something that Fate was always good at. As it changed code mid-flight, it veered away from him, missing rather intentionally on the fourth and final shot as he had a rough idea that it was about the breaking point there.*

"Not well enough, it seems."
He could atleast put some force behind a blow, but not well enough against the Overlord it seems. It wasn't the biggest surprise, but still. It made it a bit hard to know, in a way. He had done more damage than the golem had, atleast? He couldn't help but give a shaky grin at the statement either way. He would take that small bit as an accomplishment, nonetheless. But that was short lived, as he noticed that another set of attacks was being prepped. This one was more... sinister in nature, however. It did not carry the same feeling as Genesis' othjer attacks, but he had to admit that he could not deny the sense of dread that he had facing it.
He moved, white light coating his weapons as he tore through the first head that came at him. A flickering image appeared around him, as the second skull diffused against it while he attacked the third one in a similar fashion to the first. He couldn't keep up with the last one, but... He gave a sigh as it veered away. So Genesis had realized his limits already?
"Well. That's my loss then."
It had turned out about as expected. Perhaps some surprise at being able to damage him atleast. Regis winced as he came to rest, using his weapons as makeshift crutches while slowly repairing his data. Even with the other Navi holding back, it had still been a rather brutal moveset to live through.
"But I guess this ended as expected."

"That's a new move too--hm? Oh, you're a bleeder?"
Zaven had been observing and could attest to never seeing that sort of attack from him before. The data that Genesis wielded was ever and always outside of the norm, but that was an exception even then. But another exception was what he noticed happening just then. Things felt... strange. The 'air' that was around them, the environment that they lived in that so closely mirrored the real world now... everything. And it only got stranger from there, something that Genesis would notice before either of the two of them would.
The world around them was already vastly different. The code that was running was a foreign code that hadn't even been seen before, the source of this being from a human location. And the connection to the human side was vague at best. Saying that it was their side that was causing it wasn't concrete either. It just had a connection that could be traced back to a real world location, but what that location did in relation to this was unknown.
And that wasn't getting to the area itself. It was quickly expanding all over. In fact, around here they would each even 'feel' it now. Parts of them also had been altered. But there was nothing that changed its function, rather they felt it wash over them... and then nothing at all. Had nothing happened? And what even was happening here?
But even stranger was that moments after, everything returned to normal. It was back to the standard from before they felt anything, everything vanishing without a trace. The only sign that they would notice for things being different was in fact for Regis himself. There was red now. It wasn't like the regular digital losses incurred when injuries were taken or anything like that, not at all. It felt the same as that and his recovery hadn't been affected, but rather than there being battered data, it was more akin to... blood? That was what the dripping red was the most similar to right now. The wounds that would normally be able to mend themselves were not quite doing so. Something had been amiss, something that few people would immediately catch on to or even notice the effects of unless the situation had in fact called for it then. Zaven could attest to that, as he thought Regis was just one who was programmed to bleed in a regular fashion rather than fully noticing anything at all.

"There was still some surprise, all things considered."
*Not entirely as expected, as he didn't expect to actually take damage from the fight. So it was an experience, alright. But then he felt the sudden changes, spotting them with Regis even. After all, he wasn't bleeding at first. That was a clear sign that something happened and his particular skillset clued him in to everything else changing right away. It was sudden and over in an instant, something that caused him to narrow his eyes ever so slightly. A change on this scale and so immediately was something he figured only one level of being could perform... the odds of one being in Netopia or actually acting was a problem in and of itself. And by the process of elimination, humanity was the common source of those entities at the same time... wonderful.*
"It seems like there's more going on here than I first expected even after that golem from before. A lot of unanswered questions now..."
*How deep was the hole that the NIA dug? Was this their fault? Given their intention, possibly. And what had it changed entirely? He felt the same, though it was clear that Regis was going through a change as well. He had felt it himself but then nothing right after. Were he not used to so many strange happenings he'd be more surprised by this, but experience was helpful at times like these. They would have to move with more caution than not given what it appeared could happen to their wounds. ...And made him think about something as well.*
"I already planned to deal with them or investigate the NIA anyway, but I suppose I should start by checking out the border again. See if it's mended as I was told it would be in short order. If not, then that's a start before I start searching deeper into Netopia."

What was that feeling? He was still feeling the after-effects from the fight, but in a strange instance, there was... something else? He watched as the area warpped and twisted with strange code, before reverting entirely. Regis blinked at Zaven's words, before moving a hand slowly. This was... blood?
"...No. I'm not."
Atleast, he was not in this sense. He frowned, feeling that his wounds were properly restoring. Was this... an alteration of his code? But how? And why in this manner? Because ultimately, this behavior was entirely-
"Was this a real world convergence...? But no, this is not part of my programming. ...Restoration protocols don't seem to be working either."
That strange code, his current alteration... There wasn't much for him to point it to either, even though it inherently made no sense at all. He twirled his spear, the weapon forming back into his scabbard as he sheathed his blade, using it to help him stand. This certainly was a dampener on what he could do.
"You think this is permanent?"
The question was directed at Genesis, the swordsman wincing at the strange stress on his body now due to what had happened. Certainly... this was markedly different. And not in a manner he was particular liking. He had no idea what to do with this, to be honest.

"I do not know. But if it is permanent... what all can happen because of it?"
*It likely didn't stop at bleeding, did it? If so that wasn't so bad. But having such a human function forced upon you could also mean any number of things. If they could suffer blood loss and the same effects as a human... then he had seen a navi that had something similar before, albeit not to the logical extreme that it could be taken to. What if this was taken to that very extreme instead? It wasn't the most pleasant thought to have. But he assumed that he could get some answers from whoever he might find at the border now. If not who, then he would have to do his original plan of going to them and forcing an answer out of them one way or another.*
"If you come with me there will the implication that we all work together. If that is fine with you, then follow along. If not, then this should not take me long to get some sufficient answers about. Vague though they may be. Head for Rammount in the meantime."
*It was a place of trouble in the past for him, but not something he would linger on. Just another battlefield that day in this everlasting war that he faced with humanity. So he departed with haste this time, no intention on wasting time on something like this. The NIA was shrouded in enough mystery as it were. And politics was a style that he knew was already ineffective against the humans who ran this organization. It was either their way or removal, plain and simple. And if this change was permanent then it would benefit them one way or another, whether they would admit to it or not.*
