The young navi stood near the edge of the cliff ledge by the waterfall overlooking a part of the forest below. He took a deep breath, calming his mind, focusing on his task. He raised his hands, Holding his black and white fanged swords, energy causing the mass arsenal of weapons he used in battle to levitated and be ready for action. With a small grunt, Energy spheres of various colors appeared around him, and they began rotating.
Swords, Daggers, a lance, a spear, a rapier, a flail, and lastly a scythe. Nine different weapons, and seven different colored meteors.
There was a moment of silence. A calm before the storm.
There was a flash of light, as the navi dashed, thrusting through an invisible enemy. He slashed a downward strike, a wave of energy leaping forward from the white blade. An upward stroke caused a second wave of energy out of the black blade. Daggers danced, a rapier thrust, weapons striking this way and that at various invisible enemies. Energy meteors flung this way and that, stopping at various distances, some, as they flew over water were so strong, there were ripples in the water underneath. His body dashed and danced around the open field, grass living, being born and dying underneath him as he went about.
After what seemed like an hour, but was only several minutes, the navi stopped, focusing on the control of so many different actions and so much energy...

A cat like navi watched from up above, nicely cuddled on a tree branch. It was sporting a black and green undersuit coupled with gray armor. His tail dangled lazily up and down as he stared at the navy with curiosity.
"Not bad." He would say to the other navi, impressed. "Skillful use of bladed weapon no doubt."

The navi was standing silently, eyes closed. He slowly lowered his hands to his sides. He betrayed no thought or emotion to the navi who spoke to him from above and behind him. He had known he was there when he started. With a spinning slash, energy from the white blade illuminated forward among the earth, instantly reviving anything that had died from his quick session. However, the watcher would get no more of a show. He preferred to keep much under his cloak. With a small flash of light, and just for show in this case, all weapons vanished. He walked over to the small spring, dipped his face in it, and took a sip. Upon pulling his head out, he shook his face, cracked his neck, and sighed. His white cloak appeared around him, covering most of his form other than his head, his wings wrapped around his body.
He turned and faced the cat-like navi, opening his eyes. His star tattooed eye was gold with a greenish hue, and the diamond tattooed like eye was silver with a blueish hue. He stared at the navi for a moment.
"... So. Someone has found me. At my favorite training spot no less. Only a few people know about this place. You must have found it by accident. But alas. Good job..."
Without warning, or any sign of moving, Merrill ascended up the tree into a branch next to, and slightly above the cat-like navi.
"... I hope you enjoyed your show. But I musk ask, who are you, and why are you here, as well as how you found this place..."
His tone was neutral, not assertive nor friendly. one who was just curious.
The black and green warrior observed the other's movements. "My name is Nightshade." He politely replied. "I mean no harm, but I just happened to be passing by and heard the sound of a fight. My detective nature imposed me to invesigate, so I found you here."
The black cat would pause for a moment before adding "A pleasure to meet you"

"Pretty much." Nightshade replied, hopping down from the tree and gracefully landing on the grass. "I wasn't out to find this place per se,but it is a nice little thing to remeber, next time I am here."
"See... this poor soul is broken. Power is absolute indeed."
"Power is not absolute in the regard you believe. The world is cold indeed. But it's the job of everyone to come together and make it a better place. Giving up or submitting to negativity is just as bad."
He continued to look at the Navi.
"So you answered my second question and avoided the first. Tell me, about yourself Nightshade."
Nightshade stared at the navi and sighed. The feline warrior dropped on the ground, sitting on the grass and crossing his legs, pulling his feet claws up on himself. His tail twitched, then curled to his right side.
"My name, as I already said, is Nightshade. I am an ONB inspector...or at least I attempt to be one. I ate mud and dirt most of my life, not able to keep up with the others around me. I am nothing but a joke to most other navis. My current dream is to seek out Greiga and obtain his powers,so that I can finally make a difference."

Nightshade gave a small nod. "True. As of now, I have no power nor the intention of attacking Greiga to steal from him. I know he granted that powers to others in the past. I only seek a chance to prove my worth."
Merrill nodded, acknowledging Nightshade's wish. On one hand, he felt the same way, wishing he had the power to make a difference. He couldn't help but let out a small smile.
Merrill thought about that.
"You know you want to. You wanted to the moment he busted in here. This was your secret place for training, and someone like him just waltzes in and you don't question it?! Have you gone soft in your solitude? Your heart hasn't turned to complete stone, boy!"
Merrill sighed. He had a point. Merrill had been in here quite a while. He rarely left, or went into town. Nightshade had been the first person he had run into in quite a while.
"Prove to me your worth."
He stood, turning to face Nightshade.
"Win, and I let you leave, with your memories of this place. Lose, and I take away your memories, and I will move you out of here so you can't find your way back."
"Hm...well I did interrupt you with your training. So I guess I owe it to you." Nightshade stood up and stretched. "Nothing bad in reharsing some stuff just in case."
Once he was done, he planted his claws in the ground and lowered into a rather unorthodox fight stance. "Let's try not to wreck this place. It would be a shame."
The little cat's tail twitched in anticipation. Nightshade could clearly feel it. That guy's power was four times is own. He would have to fight at 120% if he didn't want to get blown away by the guy's first strike.
He leaned back a bit and then sprung into action like a loaded spring. By the time the guy blinked he was already up in hiss business. Jumping up in the air and spinning around, Nightshade opened their fight with his signature clawed roundhouse kick. And he aimed straight for Merrill's face.
Merrill stood still, taking the strike across his cheek, turning his head slightly. The cut mark that appeared across his face had already healed by the time Nightshade had finished his rotation. He looked back at the cat, unhinging his cloak, throwing it to the side by the spring where he had drank. He crossed his arms.
"I'm going to give you a second change at a first strike. Please tell me you can do better than that. You'll lose your memories quickly with attacks like that."
"... You are incredibly foolish. He sneak attacks you, and you openly offer him a second attempt? You cease to amaze me with such... stupidity!"
Merrill ignored him. Without moving, energy began swirling around the young navi, the wind picking up with a rush...
