Located to the north of Element City, an industrial area known as The Heap makes its home. An early addition to Electopia's network, the Heap suffers some from poor planning, causing its roads to be small and its alleys plentiful. A functional maze of a town, the Heap manages to stay around providing many raw and processed materials to the other areas as well as managing the human's industrial endeavors as well. The Heap also features a thriving community looking to build and test new battlechips and "plug and play" navi armaments. On the outskirts, what looks to be a volcano sits, smoking from the top. Built into the side of this towering mass of magma sits a large complex, known as the Hygen Reactor, which supplies the area's heat generated power sources and supplement the Power Plant in The Current. Mostly inhabited by Fire navis, many navis which use predominately stone, metal, and break elements find themselves comfortable here as well.

*The rumbling and gnashing of metal could be heard nearly a mile out as an all-out war sounded through the area. Many places of The Heap were rather sequestered as cannon blasts and vulcan shots ripped through the air. Screams and orders were hollered out as stream after stream of data was sent back to peoples' PET's or outside of the network.*
Embera: Come on! You at least made me break a sweat last time!
*The Solar Empress was cleaving down people left and right as they tested out their ragtag weapons against her sleek armor. Bullets stopped dead against her metallic second hide; some even ricocheted into other opponents. As Embera remained steadfast they took the time to reload, a grave mistake.*
Embera: Did you think that this armor gave you time?!
*As quick as they readied another round, Embera was atop a heap in the face of one of the group's leaders, grabbing him by the face and placing her hand to his lower half, hearing his muffled screams through her hand.*
Embera: You asked for this! You can't bring this pile of slag to me and hurt me!
*As his struggles fell on deaf ears, Embera began melting away his body before his operator was able to jack him out. The damage was more than she had done when she started out as the "sparring" partner for these weapon scrappers or "artificers" they started calling themselves lately, but she was letting loose more than usual today. It felt good to just let go, as the peace was beginning to bore her. She reflected upon the days of fighting for whatever belief of the day got her partners moving, herself not believing but loving the thrill of combat. Her introspection was cut short however as three impressively built navis took aim at her with weapons far newer than any scrap fired at her before. It was an Aiming Cannon, with two mighty DarkVulcan howitzers aimed for her. They were out for blood this time, and let loose a hail of bullets that would reduce lesser navi to paste. Indeed, she could feel some of the bullets making it through her armor, some were even passing through her, but all this achieved was angering the Solar Empress.*
Embera: If you wanted to play rough, all you had to do was ask!
*Immediately Embera blasted apart her armor in a tremendous explosion, revealing her slender, more feminine form. Dissipating into a fiery plasma, she wisped her way to the two vulcan users and slammed their heads together with such ferocity their heads shattered completely, leaving the mess against her body and the taller Seeker Navi in front of her. The gore released something primal in Embera as she took on an aura very different from a few moments ago. Before the Seeker could even drop his weapon to apologize, Embera took the arm from him entirely and grabbed his ankle before he could even stream out of the network. Embera aimed to make an example of him. Holding him in the middle of The Heap on display.*
Embera: People of The Heap, listen to me! This navi brought darkchips to our mountains, and attempted to use them in the Scuffling, our traditional sporting grounds! These kinds of vile weaponry shall not be allowed in our area, where busters and arms are so freely held! Let this be a lesson to all of you that you may think twice before bringing Dark chips into my area!
*As Embera raised her fist, the crowd cheered, coming to a roar as the flames engulfed her arm. punching first into the navi's chest, and then grabbing his remaining arm, Embera scorched and scorched as the Seeker's pain rang disturbingly loud among the group of people cheering for his punishment. As his body went limp Embera threw him down, jogging his senses back to consciousness.*
Seeker Navi: what....did you do to me?
Embera: I charred the data connections between your uploads and your arms. Any weapon data you use will be rendered useless. You should have thought about that before you brought your filth into the Scuffling...now leave..
*And in shame and silence the once haughty navi skulked away, his remaining arm falling limp before disappearing from the area. Once calm was restored, Embera retrieved her armor, now appearing as swiss cheese. Sighing, she retreated to the volcanic mountaintop, aiming to reforge. The process was simple, throw it in to melt, scrape away any imperfections, and mold it back onto her body. As she dropped into the magma after her armor, Embera felt refreshed, much like an athlete in an ice bath. She remembered days gone by, missing the times when the lava bath was much more earned*

Well that was an impressive sight.
Along the path before Embera, a Navi leans in silence with a smile on his face. Embera had always been a firebrand, pun intended, and seeing her at work protecting others... it just felt downright good. He remembered those fiery attacks and couldn't help but feel sorry for those on the receiving end; very sorry at times. It would take a lot more than them to break the empress down.
After the last Navi limps away like a wounded dog and the crowd cheers for their protector, the Navi sighs and glances to the sky above; so much had happened, so many changes... how much longer would it all go on?
After a little time, Embera finally approaches where this Navi stands, spurring him to give a wry half-smile as he calls out, making his presence known.
TornadoMan: Been awhile, Embera.
TornadoMan leans against the rock wall near the path, expecting any number of reactions from his old... friend? Honestly, that relationship had never been clear. Either way, he'd at least see how she reacted... poor outcome or not.

*Embera rose from the lava in her still-super-heated armor, taking in the heat as the metal cooled against her clothing as if becoming one with her. The armor was unlike most Creamland plate armor as it was all solid. Embera was able to move freely by heating the metal at her joints leaving her no weak points, save the metal grate at her eyes. Seeing TornadoMan, Embera let out a shriek as she plunged immediately back into the lava.*
Embera: This is like a bath for me! I don't consider myself clothed until the armor cools! What are you doing here?!
*If Embera was not submerged in a viscous magma pool, she would be red regardless, as she had not had her privacy invaded like this in years. Still, however, TornadoMan was a pleasant sight. She was glad the fighter was still kicking. He wasn't looking so worse for wear either. Readying herself again she climbed out and tried her best to absorb all the heat from the armor, super-cooling it, leaving her immobile.*
Embera: It's been too long, TornadoMan. What brings you around here? You don't plan on causing trouble in my area, are you? I've had a rough time today and my patience for quarrels is a bit on the edge right now, if you haven't noticed earlier.
*Embera spoke from the visage of her armor with a strange echo. The armor was cold to the touch, as she let her embarrassment subside, energy returned to the metal husk, the joints gaining a dull red tint as she flexed her elbows and knees, gaining her range of motion again. Now that she felt more natural, she lifted the visor to reveal her more relaxed smile to one of the few people she knew that didn't fight her on-sight.*

TornadoMan rolls his eyes at Embera's objections. The wind Navi can't help but find them a bit silly as the fire Navi is doing something more a kin to swimming than bathing, but the realization that it embarrassed her was enough reason to show some respect. The wind-elemental turns his back to Embera while still leaning against the rock wall and waves to her over his shoulder, obviously respecting her privacy.
TornadoMan: Just here to visit a friend. A while back you sort of fell off the face of the earth, so when I heard about a woman pretty much burning down anyone attacking her town, I figured that It pretty much had to be you. So how've you been?
TornadoMan raises a finger to illustrate that he intends to break that thought for a moment, returning to a previous thought.
TornadoMan: By the way, sorry about that. I just figured that you were more going for a swim, didn't realize that it's a private affair.
No point in letting the elephant in the room stand around too long.

Vanguard.EXE
The Heap in and of itself wasn't a bad area to be in, if it weren't for all of the other Navis milling around. It is far too crowded for his liking, and Vanguard couldn't bring himself to bother with shoving through the large crowds to get where he needed to go. Why were this many Navis milling around so close to the volcano, anyways? Didn't their Net-OPs have anything better for them to be doing?
He sighs, trying to cool his annoyance. He'd scoped this area out the day before, trying to figure what he might have to push through or who to avoid as he slinked through. While he had no sure proof of the idea, the fact that the Heap collected junk data from all over the net to build its resources and fuel meant that there was a good chance that something from Siega Corporations might be here, if it hadn't already fell into the hands of the darkloids.
As he shoves past a rather large group of Navis, he suddenly pulls himself out of his reverie just in time to duck and shift away from a trio of Navis running at a breakneck pace down the side of the volcano. "W-ah?! What're yo-" He was cut off by the sound of a massive explosion, in the direction they were running from.
Glaring up the mountain to see what they might be running away from, despite the crowd appearing to be cheering and not the least bit concerned, he came face to face with a form of raw, fiery plasma racing towards the three navis that just tried to race past him.
Instead, the plasmic navi materializes and crushes the first two, and it was only then that Vanguard notices the one in the middle is holding a DarkVulcan.
Now royally confused, Vanguard took a step forward, priming his own Darkchip within his hand, meaning to cleave down the navi himself, only for her to grab hold of him and begin to sear the Navi's data. Why were all of these people gathered up on the top of the volcano, cheering on some fight between this girl and a group of darkloids? Something like this shouldn't be cheered on; much less spectated. Hoping her speech would give him answers, Vanguard veers off to the side and listens.
. . .Oh. They were in some public event, and the sanctity of the event was breached by the DarkChip use. Suddenly much more aware of the DarkChip he had materialized in his hand, Vanguard closed his fist around the piece of data, unable to do anything with it, quite yet, out of worry that the woman would think cross of, and attack, him, too. Not that he's worried about a fight against her; it was just unnecessary to look for a conflict where there was none to be found.
Her display made, the fiery woman made her way back to the top of the volcano and he could only just see her figure jump into it from this distance. . .and the Darkloid was left to slink back into the shadows, licking his wounds as he staggered away. She was the kind to let them live to remember their lesson, huh? . . . He didn't have the same mercy.
He had things to do for now, though. He scanned the Darkloid's data signature with his visor, cataloging their info into the Corporation's Darkloid Database. A beep told him the information was taken; now, once he had a free moment, he could hunt down the weakened scum and finish the job.
Vanguard would normally avoid confrontation if it wasn't necessary. However, he had a good opportunity to at the very least try and keep her from searing his arms off just for wielding a darkchip. Besides . . . it could prove beneficial to have someone of her power at his disposal.
Starting up the mountainside, he takes up the long haul to the summit. As he crests the final rise, a figure he did not account for comes into view just by the crater into the pool of lava that the woman hopped into.
That complicates things, but, it was alright. Even if his inner flame was a different shade, the lava within the volcano called to him; waiting until the conversation between the two - Embera and TornadoMan, he learned - was over, Vanguard steps up to the edge of the main crater, looking over the ridge and down at the fiery navi in the pool below.
He was very conscious of the power that came from both of these Navis; especially of the power of TornadoMan, next to him. The Net seemed to almost bend around them, and the lava around Embera looked to burn brighter simply because of her presence. It was almost humbling.
And, until he reached their strength, it would remain so.
"Quite the display of power and ferocity, just to let the piece of scum go, don't you think?" Vanguard called down, suddenly leaping forward to fall within the lava pool in a large splash. As he came into contact with the searing lava, it soothed him; however, the pool tinted purple around him, the writhing purple flames coating his hand burning darker and stronger as he settles in the pool a respectful distance from the woman.
"Or was there something about that show of weakness I misunderstood?" He went on, deciding it would be bad to act any different simply off of the knowledge that she could probably delete him with but a thought.

Yet another reason for an eye roll.
The slinking tones, the obvious subterfuge, the bold yet careful slinking... this Navi was nothing short of typical for a darkloid in nature, despite what he may otherwise be. TornadoMan's first reaction was to explain what he believed of Embera's actions; they were not weakness, but rather Embera leaving someone to tell the tale. And should this tale bring someone actually worthy of her power, then all the better.
...but he didn't. Far too long she'd been spoken for or told what to do by those "in power". The wind-elemental wasn't here to try and send her on some sort of errand or give some cryptic message, but rather to visit his friend... a friend, one might add, that had always been more than capable of speaking for herself.
Glancing over his shoulder, TornadoMan looks to Embera, motions to the strange newcomer, and shoots a wry smile in silence.

*Embera smiled at the news of her running the heap spread so far. It was good to be back in people's radars again.*
Embera: Yeah, they're not bad people. They try, and I think I give them something to aspire to. Whether it's realizing their own power, or just to knock me down a peg, I remember what it was like to want to stand on my own two feet. I took over The Heap soon after Saul Kada was removed from the Web, it was the only digital volcano in the world, and it felt comfortable again. I saw that this community was peaceful, with no official hierarchy, and I just kind of...asserted myself. It was a bit of a takeover, but I have no ill will to just destroy people who want to get by. We have the Scuffling where people bring their best contraptions; weapons and armors and bring them to bear against me. I welcome the chance to flex, and I do my best to strike at the weak points, teaching through practice where things are wrong.
*Embera seeped through her armor, as the flames wisped and reconstituted her form, dusting off her outfit as if it were covered in filth.*
Embera: It is kind of like a swim, but I'm usually never disturbed here with the heat being so intense for the common folk that I've kind of taken this as a private place, so I got shocked. It's not an indecency thing, I just don't like to be seen so....me. How've you been? Any contact with the others?
*Before she could continue with the conversation, an unusual interloper happened upon them, taking her by further surprise. "Was this an up and coming vacation spot now? She couldn't tell, but the way the darkloid flittered about the lava, and the shades of purple emanating from each step easily revealed the heart of the navi before her.*
Embera: Nah, DarkChips ain't all bad to me. I just don't like them in that arena out there. It's for people with customized weaponry, none of that corner-cutting stuff. I have rules, and there's punishment for breaking 'em. Trust me when I tell you...
*Embera's voice trailed to a whisper as she closed in on Vangard, placing her finger near his chest, letting it glow white hot against him before finishing her sentence with a wink*
Embera: I've killed a whole lot more...for a whole lot less...
*Feeling her message was delivered, she withdrew from Vanguard and simply strolled back.* Embera: There's nothing weak in letting someone live, just as there's nothing strong in killing someone who can't be bothered to save themselves. I'm stronger than him whether he lives or dies, I made that very clear. Maybe he'll get stronger, maybe he'll find more friends. If it comes to killing him, I'll do it gladly, don't get me wrong. It just didn't seem necessary given the circumstances, and wanton killing got boring. It all get's so boring I've learned, so I've moved on to things that interested me. But I digress...*
*Embera shrugged her shoulders whimsically as if the gravity of the lives she talked about were as trivial as the ground beneath their feet. She only made one more comment before turning her attention to TornadoMan.*
Embera: If you have a purpose here I suggest you cut to it, because I'm having a conversation with a friend and eavesdropping is a very rude thing to do.

Vanguard.EXE
As soon as he jumped into the pit of fire, Vanguard could feel the gaze of TornadoMan from above, and the attention of Embera from just a little ways away. Something about the latter's demeanor told him that she knew what he was, before he even told her - he would've already been destroyed if she had a problem with that. Instead, she saunters towards him, her bright flames sending ripples through the lava that wraps around and joins with his waves of purple - a beautiful array that ended in her sheer brilliance swallowing his purple flames. If he had any disillusions of the difference in power between them before, they were gone, now.
"Arena? . . .Rules? You mean to tell me that all that . . . it was just for sport? Your sport?"
As though her point wasn't clear enough from her display beforehand, she puts a finger to his crest. A searing, white-hot flame blazes against him, despite his own fiery hot core, and he has to use all of his willpower not to flinch away. Only his eyes betray him, which, thankfully, were hidden well behind his dark purple visor.
She turns away and walks off, rattling off her apparently newfound philosophy about strength and weakness in control of life and death, and how killing became boring for her. It is sad, sitting here and listening to her resolve. With the ferocity she had displayed, for a moment, he thought he'd found someone else who despised Darkloids almost as much as he does.
"It isn't a matter of strength or weakness in *power* or *person.* It's a matter of your resolve," he quipped, clenching his fists as he turns away, raising his gaze to the ridge on the other side.
"I hunt down and destroy Darkloids because they are a stain upon the Net, whose reckless tendencies for violence and destruction brings pain to countless, Navi and Human alike. I hunt down evil in an attempt to make up for the darkness that burns within my own soul . . ." Vanguard lowered his gaze, and then jumps up in a powerful leap to the ledge, turning back to look down at Embera.
"Not because I enjoy it. The Darkloid you left to roam will go, lick his wounds, find someone to fix him, and, then, just like all the others, he'll come back, and he'll hurt someone else. Damage that I plan to prevent, by finishing what you couldn't."
He ends up going much deeper into this than he intended to. But, he needed to say it, just as much as she needed to hear it. He glances at TornadoMan, wondering for just a moment what he is thinking on all of this. He turns his attention back to Embera for just a second, the last of his empowered flames dying down as his darklight fires calms to their normal ferocity.
"Thanks. You were useful for finding another Darkloid, if nothing else."
Vanguard turns and starts down the volcano side, keeping a constant ear out for behind him in case either of the much stronger Navis start to come after him. Hoping for the best, he pulls up the Darkloid's data on his visor, and begins running his tracers on his data signature.
There will be no corner of this city that he will hide from me.

*The world moved on, as it always did, after a crisis. Some people looked back to those times, others looked forward. Some looked even further back. He felt he was a mix of the three, but for now his eyes were ahead of him. Thanks to some bonding, he learned how to look ahead more than looking to what had past. Except for two cases, but everyone had exceptions that they lived by. He at least knew better than to walk into Element City if his goal was just to relax, so he picked here instead. The Heap made for a good place to watch everything, see how others had progressed. Additionally, since he had been keeping up with news now instead of ignoring it, he had heard something favorable about it as well. If the place was a testing ground for their armaments, it was likely anyone who wanted to have a fight here and there would show up here.*
*Which meant he could probably meet someone he had some knowledge of here. All the people he knew, in their own way, were fairly bored people when there was peace around. They were either that or restless during down-times like this. And seeing someone limping away to leave as he kept going let him know from the damage that a favorite hothead was probably around. He knew several who liked to burn things, but few that would burn them in such a fashion. Most would go for the full body burning.*
"If I were a betting man..."
*He looked toward the volcano and started on making his way there. He'd been hit by far worse heat than this in his time so this was nothing special. Managed to make it in time to watch someone leave too. So he kept up the hill instead of paying it any mind. It wasn't his business what the guy was up to right now. He was a bit surprised, however, to see that someone else had also beaten him to the punch here.*
"I guess great minds think alike sometimes, TornadoMan."
*He wasn't exactly on any good or bad terms with the navi in his own perspective. Neutral territory. Zane, however, still wanted a rematch with the guy. But Zane always enjoyed a good fight so the source of this was the first encounter that the two had with one another. And so he smiled just a bit as his eyes went over to Embera instead.*
"Long time no see, Embera. How have you been?"

Well, at least that was over. TornadoMan leans back in a more relaxed manner than before, feeling that he can actually talk candidly with Embera. With that interruption gone they could get back to-
...oh.
TornadoMan gives a half smile to Genesis as he makes the scene, breaking one hand from his crossed arms to give a two-finger wave. His relaxed lean straightens up a bit as well, takin a bit aback by the Onyx Overlord's presence. He'd known Genesis, but had never really gotten acquainted with him over the years. He knew that there was no real danger here, but still....
TornadoMan: Pretty popular today, eh Embera?
TornadoMan smiles and pushes off against the rock wall, standing firmly with a stretch.
TornadoMan: Well, guess I should go. Better get out of here before the rest of the net comes to say hi. Oh, and by the way;
TornadoMan shoots Embera another smile as he re-crosses his arms, knocking on his chest-plate as he does so.
TornadoMan: ...it was nice to see you once more.
TornadoMan then vanishes in a gale of wind, leaving behind only a cloud of dust where he'd been standing.

*Embera simply chuckled as Vanguard took his leave of them. "Turns out some of the scraps have manners after all" she thought, preparing to continue her conversation with TornadoMan. Before she could get a word out, she saw, past the wind navi was an all-too familiar, all-too welcome face. She bursted past TornadoMan, barely registering his comment before embracing Genesis wholly and sincerely.*
Embera: Genesis! It's been too long! What have you been up to?!
*In all of her excitement, she was entirely oblivious to TornadoMan's logging out. Nothing else mattered to Embera in this moment. Her closest person was here, in her arms, and she was eager to catch up with him. Finally letting go, she contained her excitement enough to continue barraging him with questions.*
Embera: What brought you here? Are you well? Did you need my help with anything?
*All Embera could think about was being beside Genesis once more. There was no one who better understood her, and perhaps, she felt, no one else who better understood him, either.*

*Genesis returned the embrace that Embera gave. It really had been a long time since they had last seen each other, letting go of her when she let go of him as well with a smile on his face. Although what he had been up to was probably about the same as before, her barrage of questions did cause him to chuckle just a bit. It was a bit of a relief to see her like this instead of depressed or anything else. She seemed to be doing well.*
"Well I spent forever looking for either the Destroyer or Caliga. No luck on either front. After realizing I put literal years into my obsessions I figured I had to dial it back some, take a break from it, you know? So I started to get in touch with the world some more again, learn how things were going, and see how my friends and family were doing. Which brings me here after I heard around the grapevine a bit. I am doing well, and no, I do not need you for any of our usual situations."
*Usually by the time they met up they would manage to talk some, then end up doing some other crazy job. Had been that way since forever now. Even the last time when they were at Saul Kada just to chat did MagicMan show up and their discussion go well, but not well at the same time. He could see why they never went to him for help in their endeavors. That and if they did he would've made sure he got something for his efforts. But that was in the past. And right now the present was what was important.*
"For once it is just for us to have a normal time together. Whatever amount to 'normal' for us anyway. How has things been with you?"

*Embera listened wholeheartedly to Genesis as he caught her up to speed with his endeavors. She was a little disappointed to hear that he hadn't accomplished his own ends, but relieved that it wasn't chewing away at him so badly. The obsessive lengths he would go to in order to complete his goals was something Embera both admired and admonished him for. He was one of the strongest people of mind and body Embera had ever met, but she, unlike others, knew about the breaking points of spirits, and vowed to herself to never let anyone bring the Onyx Overlord to that state again. Not too long later, she found herself on the receiving end of the questions. She stretched out her arms proudly to show off the volcano, being somehow grander than the scenery before him.*
Embera: I got bored one day, and just kind of...took over. This is my area now, and the locals have fun with me here, they're growing and I have something to protect to keep myself busy. I do this because I want to for once and it feels pretty nice. It's temporary, though. I just couldn't find you when you left and I felt like it'd be best to make a life in one spot and wait than to search from the old Lake to Galaxy Net itself. I'm just so happy you're back Genesis. And able to relax for once.
*Embera showed genuine contentment in Genesis' company, feeling like she could take on the entire world if he were there, a feeling often times justified by the many times the two of them seemed to have to take on the entire world by themselves. She remembered the fighting and surviving, but remembering the feeling of companionship with Genesis and Zane made Armageddon itself seem like halcyon days gone by compared to the detachment she felt from her usual company in the Heap's locality.*

*The Onyx Overlord's eyes looked over the area, taking it all in. The volcano was definitely the highlight of it he imagined, though the rest of the area contributed as well. He would say he was surprised she took over an entire area like this... but it was right up her alley to do it. She certainly had enough practice at doing it too in their time together and fighting over terrain. Even if it was all temporary, it showed how much she had grown since they first met each other and she asked to join them. Despite all the protests to the contrary, he had accepted. And it hadn't been a mistake to do so. She managed to go from always burning things to thinking about other things to do. Years of progress that she had to go through in difficult times.*
"A bit funny that when I am looking for something that I end up making myself hard to find as well."
*Then again, he imagined she was much like himself in the regard of protecting others. If they wanted to protect something they would. If they wanted to destroy something, they would also likely do so for whatever arbitrary reason guided their hand at the time. Unlike Zane, he wasn't big on finding justifications for himself to do so either. He was like their good conscious. Usually when he wasn't around things exploded in more spectacular fashion. Not that he wasn't good at it, but he contained his. Genesis could not. Sort of out of his hands on that one. But even with just the two of them, it was more than good enough. Like her, he was willing to face anything with her alongside him.*
"Though if nothing else I can safely say I would not be at the Galaxy Net. That place is not one for someone like me. Likely not in a favorable light up there."
*After all, he didn't exactly fit the 'Pure Light' image that people had. He knew others who did and that was good enough. They could be the ones to fit into the more heroic category. He would just settle for being in the category of people who would do what needed doing. Like kicking back and killing time like this. That needed doing, alright.*
