[2 intro posts, 8 battle posts. Story/stat version bonus off]
A small crowd is gathered at the entrance to a link station, in which an obstruction stands before them barring entry of any kind. The obstruction is in fact a statue, impressive in stature and design. No one knew how it got there or why it was now sitting in the middle of the path like a slumbering pokemon, but it was effectively preventing any traffic from leaving that network. Some tried to find a way around, but found the task quite impossible due to the statue's size. It was placed perfectly in such a way that getting around it wasn't an option.
Plans were discussed among the crowd on ways to remove the statue. An official was called in to try and remove it, but that could take ages before something was actually done about it. Left on their own, some navis combined their efforts by tying ropes to the statue and pulling. It didn't move an inch, so they tried pushing it instead with hope that it would give. Still the statue sat, devoid of life. So the very bold, decided to bell with it and attacked the statue with a barrage of attacks that created a thick cloud of smoke.
There was an eerie silence as the crowd held it's breathe, the attackers more worse for wear then when they had begun. When the smoke settled, you guessed it. The statue was still there, completely unaffected by the onslaught. Another barrage of attacks later, and the attackers were soon worn out and badly injured. Was it the statue? Was it hurting them in response to their attacks? "Whoa! Look at it's face!" a navi exclaimed, pointing up at the smooth stone face of the golem. Where blackness had been before, a pair of dimly lit flame-like eyes were now visible.
The statue was alive?! Did they just anger a sleeping giant? No, it was not the feeble attacks of the everyday navis that awoke the sleeping giant, but another presence. The stone golem was looking at someone... different from the crowd.

*At the very rear of the crowd, a lone Navi had appeared just moments before the statue had opened its eyes. He had been walking across this network, and his next destination was through the portal dead ahead. However, this crowd had formed to slow his way; a fact that led to increased agitation and anger in the heart of this brutal Navi. As he reaches the sea of Navis, this nameless Navi looks beyond them all and sees the reason for the crowd. More than that, he sees the flaming eyes of the living statue looking directly at him. The sight takes him aback for a moment, causing him to study what exactly he was seeing, but this momentary hesitation quickly gives way to the fury that this Navi had become known for many years ago. Clenching a fist in anger at the audacity of this, the Navi begins to walk forward as if no one was in front him. This action spurs on an instant response of irritation from those that he walks through, but as soon as the Navis being pushed aside see the angered visage of this Navi, they immediately get out of his path and let him through to the stone being that stands before all.
Entering the clearing, the Great Blockade is now able to fully see the one standing before him without being obscured by the crowd. Mid-weight armor of dark purple hue and golden trim shines in the light of the archaic network, highlighted by a set of golden horns that frame his angered face and blood red eyes. On each wrist, a mid-sized gun sits affixed to his armor, laying dormant above his clenched fists and below a set of what appear to be dark blue lenses over his rounded shoulder-pads. The Navi exudes an air of aggression and anger, and his gaze is mono-focused onto this thing in his way.
Taking a stand a few feet away, this Navi, known to the net only as the Armored Destroyer, stares down his obstacle in silence, giving it a chance to respond to his non-verbal challenge*

The now sentient statue observed through lifeless eyes as this newcomer carved a path- nay, drilled a path through the crowd. If it knew who he was, it didn't show any indication as it continued to watch until he emerged from the sea of onlookers. Now they could see face to face. The stone giant only watched, not moving a muscle as many wondered what was going through it's mind. No one dared make a sound, until gradually the crowd began to recede as if sensing the conflict about to take place.
The stone golem's eyes then shifted from dimly lit flames to a more spherical shape like actual eyes. But other then that, it said nothing. It made no move to get out of this navi's way, not that such an attempt would have appeased the enraged destroyer no doubt. But it also made no attempt at explaining the interference, not that it appeared to have the features to do so in the first place.
Who knew how long this silent stand off went until finally, the stone giant shifted. Stone groaned as dust and tiny rocks came loose from it's body as it rose to it's average height of twenty feet tall, using it's massive fists to support itself like that of a primate. It took no stance, atleast not one that was typically used as it started blankly down at the Armored Destroyer, who was aptly named given this situation.

The sight was impressive to say the least. The stone behemoth's movements let out a low, grinding growl, and its expressionless defiance stands as obvious as the sun in the sky. This behemoth is not moving, but neither is the Armored Destroyer. As the statue shifts to what appears to be a more battle ready stance, the nameless Navi remains entirely silent, yet reflects his opponent's stubbornness exactly. Defiance is the name of the game, and both players wear it on their sleeves as they stand dead-locked in a stare.
Finally, the destroyers fists curl up even tighter than before and his eyes flash. He'd had enough of this.... whatever it is. The flash in his expression gives notice to his following statement, which comes out in a manner with as much strength as his steely stare
?: Get out of my way, trash.
As the destroyer speaks, the cannons mounted to his arms resound with a low humming that quickly trails off, signaling that his weapons systems are now active. The general direction that this meeting is headed now stands as fairly obvious. However, the confrontation mirrors one age old question with a strong parallel:
what does happen when the unstoppable force meets the immovable object?

((This would technically count as a battle post, but with playing by Slow Start's rules there won't be any of that yet :P))
[BP1]
The stone giant was still unmoved by The Destroyer's menacing aura as it mirrored his defiance, though it was completely unintentional. Many questions were still unanswered and perhaps would remain unanswered if this escalated any further. Which The Destroyer was keen on doing by arming his weapons. The tension was thick enough that you could cut it with a knife. Something in the air was heavy for sure, and a brief shimmer of the golem's eyes would indicate... something was going on in it's mind.
The golem was sizing it's adversary up, and if it was displeased any, it gave no indication. It's behavior and movements at this point were slow and methodical, machine-like even. This would have been a perfect time for it to suddenly surprise everyone by finally speaking, even three words. But only the sound of stone grinding against stone was heard as it's body shifted, otherwise not moving from it's spot.
It was unknown if the golem chose not to make the first move, or could not, as it's stance gave nothing away while still towering over the Destroyer.

[1/8] Patience; a wondrous virtue that the destroyer had never displayed in the past, especially with something in his way. The intent was obvious; the golem was not going to heed his warnings, and this scene was going to escalate regardless of what happens next.
....however, the destroyer had seen something earlier. Perhaps nothing, perhaps everything, but something still lingered. With a deep breath, the destroyer crosses his arms and looks up to the stone behemoth with a continued glare, openly defying his opponent with every bit of body language that he shows
?: Fine then.
the destroyer then breaks his stance and moves forward, walking directly below the gaze of the silent golem without ever breaking eye contact. He then stares silently for a moment, his feet regaining their planted stance and his arms crossing before his chest again
?: If standing your ground is so important, then how are you going to keep me from breaking you down and throwing you to the wind?

[BP:2/8]
If you thought The Destroyer was going to go in guns blazing right then and there like the rest of us, we're just as surprised as you. The significance of this was completely lost on the silent behemoth, who continued to watch it's 'adversary' closely. It was hard to tell if it was doing so to keep it's guard up, or if that even mattered to Golem at this point. Only his eyes shifted as The Destroyer approached it, getting dangerously close to fist wrecking range.
And then he was given an interesting question, what was he going to do? Not answering him directly, of course, Golem's eyes slowly looked up to what would be over The Destroyer's head. A Stone Block had appeared and was now falling down toward The Destroyer. Questions on how it got there are best asked after not being crushed under the block...

*The Golem's eyes were the tell that the armored Navi had been searching for. At the Great Blockade's shift in focus, the destroyer instinctively kicks back and increases the distance between himself and his opponent. It's at this moment that he also looks up and sees the form of the attack; a stone-cube. With this new knowledge, the brutal Navi kicks back his heels, plants the anchors affixed to his leg armor into the ground to hault his momentum, releases them again, and dashes straight forward using the boosters on his back and feet.
His body's trajectory now put the destroyer's path on an interception course with the still falling rock-cube, and he had no intent to stop. Closing the gap, the nameless Navi reels back a fist and impacts the stone cube, smashing it to pieces via his break-typing, and then proceeds to follow the punch through directly into the Great Blockade which stands close at hand. The punch comes out with brutal power, cutting the air like a knife and slashing across the Golem's body with crumbling force.

[bp:3/8] It would appear that Golem was already at a disadvantage when it's stone block was so easily destroyed. But while his opponent had been plowing through it like a wrecking ball, it had moved one of it's massive arms into a more defensive posture. The raised arm was an impromptu shield, taking the brunt of the attack and cracking or losing pieces in doing so. This didn't even make Golem flinch, as his attacker would be struck with some kind of back lash in response.
Golem saw that chance to strike again, briefly standing upright as it pulled it's damaged arm back methodically, and threw all of it's weight into it at a downward descent. Break or not, that was tons of rock coming down at The Armored Destroyer full force and would leave more then a mark. If he avoided it, his opponent would be able to see the damage from earlier slowly patching itself back up as if nothing had happened. He was in for a tough fight.

[3/8] Still paying close attention to his opponent, the Armored Destroyer sees him begin to reel back his gigantic fist. He was already prepared, and more than fast enough for this. Kicking back, the armored Navi easily avoids the crashing fist as the shock-wave resounds in the ground below, and this is when he sees it; the golem was rapidly repairing itself in the face of the damage that it had previously been inflicted with. Knowing what he had to do, the nameless Navi slams his feet into the ground, landing several yards away from his target, and thrusts both arms forward. With a fash and the sound of cannon-fire, the brutal Navi begins unleashing a steady stream of explosives from his wrist-mounted guns, each set to explode in a small, yet highly concentrated radius. The attacks continue at an unwavering pace for a time before the armored Navi recoils both fists, drops the anchors on his legs into the ground, and thrusts them forward again. This time, a large barrage of explosives come out at a rapid rate, peppering the golem with explosives as the Armored Destroyer remains planted in position, still unleashing a chaotic rain against his opponent

[4/8]
Golem was not getting a moment of respite, it's fist plowing through the ground as if it wasn't even there. It's opponent had moved a short distance away, proceeding to hit it with everything (including the kitchen sink). Golem made no sound when struck relentlessly by explosives, appearing to shrug them off as it trudged toward The Destroyer like some kind of juggernaut. Every hit would be dealt back, with less force admittedly. Ignoring parts of it's body crumbling away, it's eyes flashed once a second before something shot out of the ground at The Destroyer's feet: a stone spike of some kind was aimed for his gut.
Golem appeared to be picking up speed, no longer using it's fists to move itself along. When it got withing range of the Destroyer (assuming he hadn't moved after by now), Golem raised both of it's fists overhead and swung down with the intent on crushing The Destroyer beneath them.

(OOC: Sorry this took so long. 4/8) As Golem makes its slow yet powerful charge against the destroyer, the assault ends for a moment. Dropping his cannons and unanchoring his feet, he shifts his weight back and stands ready for the coming onslaught. At least, he was ready until the spike launches from the ground. It was unexpected, yet also not particularly hard to avoid. Which is exactly what he does. Thrusting his arms forward, he releases a jet from each of his cannons and slides back a few feet, narrowly avoiding the blow. However, this move also causes him to put himself directly within striking distance of Golem without the benefit of his solid stance.
Doing the best he can, the destroyer reaches up and meets each of Golem's stone arms with his own hands. The result is an instant standstill; between his armor and impressive strength, the nameless Navi had managed to hold off Golem's assault, but the weight wasn't something that he could hold off forever. Slowly but surely his stance begins to drop and the armor on his forearms begins to spark. The strain of Golem's weight and strength is not something that he can hold off forever. But it's also not something that he'd intended to in the first place.
Under the extreme pressure, the destroyer's hands begin to inexplicably glow bright blue, with the light becoming more intense with each passing moment.
?: Do you truly believe that you can stave off my attacks long enough to keep yourself repaired?
In a flash, the nameless Navi recoils his hands and dodges to the side. As Golem's arms drop down with a mighty crash, the nameless Navi uses the force to gain momentum, spins around, and slams a fist directly into Golem's armored body. However, this punch was not one derived from the Destroyer's power alone; he had stored the kinetic energy of Golem's crushing blow and released it full-force back on the statuesque Navi's body.
?: Because I've crushed harder armor than yours in my palm.
Now in close, the nameless Navi switches tactics. Clenching his fists, he quickly doubles back and performs another punch, but this time one from his own arsenal. As his fist makes contact, it erupts into a small-range explosive, digging deep into Golem's armor and tearing it away. Without hesitation,he continues the assault, hooking his fists across Golem's armored form with explosive results each time. Finally, he slams one fist forward with a line-drive punch, allows the backlash to overtake his form, and slides back. With his new vantage point, he activates his thrusters with a flash and doubles back at twice the speed. He then cuts one thruster and begins spinning in mid-air as he flies and slams his heel into Golem with a spinning-axe kick.
Kicking off, the destroyer then lands in close to Golem; he had no intention of giving the giant room, and had no intention to give him the opportunity to rebuild himself.

[5/8]
Two giants in their own right collided, with Golem having the upper hand, albeit for now. This was not an opponent that it would be able to wear down and outlast with it's endurance. It would need to do more if it wanted to win, and once a great weight was lifted off, it had that chance. During AD's exchange, Golem's dull burning eyes suddenly flared to life. Other then that, there would not appear to be any other visible change anything happened as Golem's fists crashed into the ground again as if it was nothing.
When the counter blow hits, Golem actually recoils for a second, but it is clear that it was not by it's own will as it makes no audible sound of anguish. Golem did not appear to care about the damage to it's body. It would endure, that was what it was good at. Golem shielded itself using it's arms, which seemed to have absorbed the stone from the ground and uses it to cover it's weakened body as AD relentlessly crashes into it with attack after attack. It's arms endured with the added stone they had absorbed, but this added armor was being peeled off with each attack.
When they finally subsided, Golem's stance shifted. "System restraint disabled..." Golem finally spoke, three words that would spell trouble for the Destroyer. It then sprang into the air with surprising agility, crashing back down nearly on top of the Destroyer with an earth shaking shockwave. Golem went on the offensive with a barrage of punches from different angles, intending on either crushing the destroyer or knocking him off his feet and through a wall. Even the ground itself seemed to conspire against him, shooting debris at him every chance it got. Golem was fully awakened, and it showed no signs of letting it's opponent brutalize it any further.

Due to my own massive lack of posting, I'm calling this one in favor of Golem. He gets full winnings, and I'm also giving him the EXP/Z that AD would otherwise get.
Sorry about my lack of activity, Mega. You did an awesome job =)
