Stepping off from the liner, Heartless glanced around the busy city as another figure stepped from the liner beside her. He looked less than amused to be carted around by her, his hands in his pocket, and his lips puffed out in exasperation.
"Man, why do we have to be out in this dump? Actually, why do I have to be here? You always bring sis or Ace on your errands." Jack blurted out without a bit of eloquence. If nothing else, he was at least as oblivious and childish as ever, so that was at least consistent.
Heartless shook her head, and smiled down at the boy she had raised as one of her own. "Your big sister was put in charge of handling collecting the final bits of data we need for our wave duplicator. Ace is helping Joker, which is also why your sister is in charge of staying at the computer in case they need anything. That leaves just you to help me with this endeavor, because it requires a wave being, and last I checked, you're the only other one of us that can do that."
Jack stared up at her and just huffed in response, following her as she made her way carefully through the busy streets, unsure of where they were going or what exactly they were doing here. She had been very careful to not share too many details with him, what, with the issue of everything that has been going on. He was at least still the little kid she remembered; whether or not she could trust that, she could only truly find out by testing the last variable she had left.
"Where are we going?" he asked abruptly, as she made a final turn towards the mall.
She looked down at him, deciding that it was going to have to be discussed eventually. "We're going to the Spica Mall. We have some tests I need to run there."
Jack's interest was piqued, as he turned to look up at her. "Spica Mall? Isn't that where Joker and Ace . . . ?"
The nod was the only answer she needed to give; Jack knew better than to speak of such things aloud. "Very correct. Somethings interfering with the Wave World, and since I have no interest for a journey through the Bermuda Maze right this moment, we're going to try to determine just how deep it's gone, and if anything remains of the Deep Noise Wave.
Noise Waves were incredibly complex wave spaces created when an immense pocket of noise compresses into a literal cybercore-like space, much like what happened with all the Bugs in Kotobuki. Noise Waves typically followed very rigid rules and outlines due to the similarities within Noised waves. While Wave technology wasn't nearly prevalent enough for their to be a bunch of noise waves, Dealer has been exploring Noise for a very long time, and while they were, they discovered that even the ancient Murian wave beings emitted Noise, and they discovered how to make more of it. The Deep Noise Wave was a massive Noise Wave created by Dealer, and it allows wave beings to travel across the world to different locations, so long as they know how to navigate the maze inside the Deep Noise Wave. Such a massive wave space cut off from the rest of the Wave World made her wonder if it would have been destroyed or not.
She took Jack into the Spica Mall, intent on going to the back where they had an opening for it created some time ago for one of Joker and Ace's earliest missions.

Everything seemed fine as they made their way to the mall. The only issue was revealed when they had made it to the back where their goal was. The space had clearly been accessed with no attempts to hide that something was awry already. What had happened was the only thing not made readily apparent, as the only way to discern what happened entirely was to take the plunge and investigate inside. Because from the outside all it showed was that someone had entered and was still inside at that. The only other sign was that grass was starting to grow in the area as well, clearly an abnormal sign as well.

Weaving through the crowded mall, everything was as it should be, with no one seeming at all worried or bothered. As they got deeper into the mall, the number of people dwindled down, until she used her access card to get into the restricted area in the back, and make her way towards the back room, still under construction, where they had created an entrance to the Deep Noise Wave.
While more than one entrance existed, this was the one that was easiest for her to get to at the time being. She was surprised as she turned the corner, however, and saw that it was already open, and practically leaking out Noise. The deep purple outline of the fracture in the fragile wave world looked just as powerful as ever; she would've been pleasantly surprised, if it wasn't supposed to be very impossible for someone other than her and her family members to open, to say nothing else of the grass growing out from it.
She frowned, setting down her brief case and opening it up, expanding the computer inside of it as well as the wave monitor she had, pulling out some equipment and a few strange devices. She turned to look up at Jack, as if he should've been doing something by now, and narrowed her eye brows when he didn't.
"Well? Aren't you going to Wave Change?"
"Didn't you just get done telling us all that Wave Changing would be real dangerous?" he countered, looking annoyed. So when he actually listened to her, it was just to get out of doing something later, was it?
"Yes, but I said doing it without an obvious conduit to pulse into would be dangerous. We don't know where the Wave World is anymore, for certain, so we have to know that it exists before we risk interacting with it. This Noise Wave is obviously open, with Waves emanating from it that are affecting the environment," she corrected, gesturing to the grass that was breaking out of the foundation of the concrete beneath them.
"Alright, but how'd they get in there?" Jack asked, as he accessed the device on his arm, preparing to wave change.
". . . That, we can't be sure on. We're the only ones with the access card to open it, the command codes to navigate the maze, and the Noise Programs to maneuver inside of it without danger; we invented all of those things, and I took Joker's away when he decided to live in the Net to reduce liability."
What she didn't say, of course, was that the only way someone else could have them is if they were stolen from one of them. All of them would be able to confirm that they still had theirs, which left only two other options - they had a mole, or, what she feared more, something happened in that Noise Wave she created to get them back from space. "We need to confirm whether or not the Deep Noise Wave is safe to use, so that we can know if our ability to move around freely and covertly is still accessible, just how deep the erasure of the Wave World goes, and so that we can get back to our Crimson storage facility. The only way to regain control of the Crimson Meteor, even if we can't see the thing, is to amass enough Crimson to resonate with it again. If they control it, launching another attack like before won't be difficult for it to amass enough power to do again."
"Alright, alright, I get it. Once I'm in there, we can talk, right?"
"Should be able to. Our communications won't be disrupted, and my frequency regulator should maintain your frequency enough inside the Noise Wave that you can still pulse out, or enable Tia to join you if necessary," she reminded him, pulling out a cartridge and plugging it into the device on Jack's wrist. "There's a battle chip folder. It should meet your needs. If anything looks worrisome, I'll be here to talk you through it, and I can bring in Tia in an emergency. Be safe in there."
Jack just huffed, looking up at her with a cowled frown that told her he still didn't believe for even one moment that she cared about him. She just kept his gaze, and he pushed past her towards the entrance to the Noise Wave. "Don't talk my ear off once I'm in there. Just let me do what I do.
"Wave Change!"
Jack Corvus floated a few feet above the black tiles of the ever-expanding Noise Wave, looking around at the twisting, black expanse. Knowing that Noise Waves followed different rules, he looked to the walls, across the tiles in front of him, and in all directions, electing the follow the grass, which ignited as he passed over it.

[smear:teal]Following the trail of grass would lead deeper, deeper still into the Noise Wave. The grass that ignited on the path over them showed that Jack Corvus was able to do what he always did. But perhaps that was something that wasn't always a good thing? Because if the fear was something strong enough to justify action, what then, of the other potential outcomes that involved investigating inside? Of what happened to someone else's path that he had to quickly abandon with his comrade when it collapsed all around him? Jack Corvus would be allowed to move deeper into the Noise Wave... but what of the path behind him? Now that he was this deep, the path behind wouldn't have smoke or anything behind him... just emptiness. And now that he was moments away from confronting that which was on the other side, the possibility of either reinforcements or retreat were potentially wiped from the table. But that concern would be off the table when the forestation ahead came into view, the sight that the destination had been reached and the target had been acquired.[/smear:green]

Not having any space to venture over wasn't a fear of Jack's, but realizing that the ground beneath him wasn't just waves covered in grass, but literally just grass generated by waves, made him incredibly concerned. Where Corvus' shadow fell, black flames ignited, making it impossible for him to leave the path behind him. His partner's tenacity and skill at destroying others would make it quite impossible for Jack to have a comrade, here - he was the only of his siblings that could fly, unless Ace could . . . no, he wouldn't. Darn it.
Using the visor on his face, he maneuvered through the maze until he saw the prey at the end of it, flying over even the breaks in the maze without worry. As he saw that the path behind him was disappearing entirely, he pressed forward, not worrying about escape, but knowing he was alone wasn't something he was used to. Keeping his eyes forward, he saw the towering figure that was at the back of the maze, and after a quick glance, he noticed something -
"Hey, what the hell? Where'd you get that?!"
He raised one wing to point at the mark of the club on his shoulder, the fire on his head getting a little darker as he glared at him. That Noise Card was literally still in Jack's pocket, or, at least, he was certain it was. Did Tia have that one? Darn, now he couldn't remember.
"Jack, what's wrong?" Heartless couldn't see what was going on; not through Jack's eyes. Corvus wasn't nearly as forgiving as Acid and Joker were, after all.
"Hey, I said just let me do my thing! Don't send me in here to handle it if I'm just gonna have a ghostly babysitter!" he snapped, obviously the hothead of the group. He turned his eyes to the lumbering mass of rock and moss looming ahead, dark winds and black flames already coursing over his body. "Does me a great deal of good, because now I can put an end to whatever it is you're doing. You gonna try and give me a philosophy lesson, or we gonna fight?"

[smear:teal]It was clearly a sign of amusement in the voice then. What was so amusing about that question? The symbol would move before a flash would occur, as what was about to take place was a battle that was unknowingly on borrowed time due to the nature of the two that were about to collide right then and there. Circumstances were different than the norm, and what would normally restore over time would soon be discovered once again that was not the case any longer. And this battle would serve as the perfect catalyst to drive a nail in the coffin called hope. But what was that flash there to signify? ...There was no longer any time for that to be a concern. ...And that nail could only be driven home if the report made it back at all.[/smear:green]
"We can skip the philosophy lesson. This fight is only to the strong!"
The forest would move, making way for a stone figure covered in moss and with a large wooden club in hand. What came next was the battle between what would otherwise be in the hands of the Dealer. But which suite would come up victorious in this unexpected clash?

He shielded his eyes from the flash, and looked back. As the forest moved, his adversary showed itself, and Jack Corvus narrowed his gaze. There was a danger to his hotheadedness, as the nature of the battle's borrowed time and the realization of the coffin being presented here was lost within his own shortsighted fury, stoked and strengthened by his wave conversion with the negative-emotion enhancing FMian, Corvus.
"I don't know how you got it, so I'll just have to rip it out of you. Once you're just a pile of ash, there won't be anything to talk about, anyways. Noise Card or not, you don't have anything on me!"
"Noise Card? Jack, talk to me, what are you up against?"
"A darn thief, now shut it!"
Purple flames ignited into the air all around Jack Corvus, and screeched as they flew towards Club Strong, literally carrying howling screams through the air. Jack not one to be left behind, black winds and dark flames coursed around his body as he charged the distance, holding up one hand. As his hands moved, his wings followed suit, and he struck down with his wings like a terrible pair of claws, unrelentingly clawing at the large figure as he carefully flew around to change his angle of attack and not leave himself open from one place or another. He put his all into each swing, and bursts of flames or dark winds churned in between his strikes.
Once he was done, strained from the effort unleashed, he back peddled away and hovered, waiting to see what was left.

The club would be raised to aim to meet the encroaching carrion, meeting wing and claw as the flames would burn through the forestation and beyond to leave a violent trail in their wake. But where the thief stood, the grass would begin to flow anew as it stood no worse for wear as it moved forward, a series of wooden lances launching themselves up at the addled boy as the club was brought down along with them to try and catch his evasion. Not stopping there as it waved its empty hand, a series of tornadoes were spawned that were sent along the winds toward the youth as even as it made those movements the flames were falling from its form as the world around them was set to be razed by their clash.

Weaving around the lethal club swings, Jack Corvus felt unhelpfully like a fly in comparison to the giant, and knew that his ability to evade would be tested at every possible interval, here. One touch from this thing was enough to swat him down, but he was faster; he knew his speed rivaled even Ace's.
Carefully weaving around pillars and tornadoes alike, he carefully brushed his wings in order to change his trajectory, and covered himself in flames to burn through some of the pillars rather than try to weave around them. Once he was done, he took the energy he siphoned and unleashed back on the goliath.
Not sure what kind of defenses it had other than just brute strength, he didn't want to commit too heavily to any one method of attack. Since the forest continued to flow outward and didn't seem intent on leaving, Jack Corvus spread his wings and sent pillar of flames, one after another, at Club, each one causing his own flames to grow. Wreathing his body in fire and black winds, the carrion wielder crashed towards the monster at his full speed, wanting to see what answer it would have for his own brute force.

The flaming charge would again meet the club in turn, this time having an effect as the giant was pushed back by the mighty flame-wreathed charge. The singe marks were left on the moss that was on its body, the very same burn marks beginning to fade away as more moss began to grow upon his body. And the coast wasn't clear yet either as swing upon swing came, the one that was used to strike back having been even stronger than the last time the club was swung about. The swings were getting faster too, soon likely to swing the weapon in rapid succession and with deadly force and precision backing it.

Not wanting to be hit by the thing, Jack continued to weave around its strikes, even as he saw it become more and more dangerous with each passing moment. The forest continued to sprout out from all around it, and Jack glowered down at the monolith of a being, still unsure just where it had come from or how it even got back here, and he still didn't find himself caring much.
"Where'd you get our stuff? How'd you know how to get back here? What do you want from our home? More importantly, why won't you just burn?!"
Again, igniting his body and diving through the last of the tornadoes, Jack sent a wave of flames and leaves back at the hulking wave being to see how it liked its own medicine. Still wanting to hold up just enough to strike back in case things became dire, but not wanting to risk this thing becoming any more dangerous than it already was, he decided to take this another step forward.
"I may just have to ask your ashes if I'm not careful . . ."
Flames fell from his spread wings into the air, some of them arcing towards Club, and others falling towards the ground. Like napalm setting a forest ablaze, the purple flames spread like wild, coating the ground in a layer of flames that swallowed up the forest entirely, until all that was left was a world set ablaze. Knowing that the claws weren't going to be of any real concern to the behemoth, he charged through the whirling flames, getting up close to Club and unleashing a gust of wind that carried with it the intense heat that he generated. As the winds came into contact with anything they exploded and erupted in flames, as he stayed in close with swing after swing of the malicious sickles he had for wings.
Rising up high on black winds, with purple flames that continued to surge darker and darker, Jack Corvus was blanketed in the fires of his own destruction as he came down from on high, unleashing a maelstrom of flames that spiralled down with his descent, as he attempted to finish off the monstrosity by charging right through his center.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Heartless was still hard at work analyzing the wave work of the Noise Wave, trying to determine if it had been modified at all aside from the change in grass. The grass in the Noise Wave was strange . . . Jack also mentioned a Noise Card. The only Noise Card that would override an entire Noise Wave like this . . .
"Jack? The Noise Card - are you fighting someone that stole it, or someone wearing it? Jack, is it the Club?"
"A little busy, Heartless!"
"I am being patient and polite with you, Jack, now try to look past that blasted crow's war fog long enough to be civil with me! Answer my question!"
"Yeah, yeah, its the Club, he's got it on him, why?!"
Her eyes widened and she hastily packed up the kit she had with her, murmuring frantically to herself as she looked over the results as well as considered everything else that had transpired . . . it normally wouldn't be a problem, unless she was right before - it was too much to just destroy the Noise Wave . . .
. . . but it wouldn't be if it were made of grass and Jack's fires did the job.
"Jack, get out of there, now!"

The fervor of battle had reached a new pitch, and it looked as though a taste of its own medicine was going to be delivered as the flames lashed out against it in waves.
"Ask my ashes if you can, weakling!"
Everything was set ablaze, as nothing remained but fire far and wide. The damage had already been done, now was simply finishing the job. Its body would harden now that things had reached this point, taking the assault in stride as everything was coated in flames. But the one before him stood strong still, his words left to hang in the air of the ability possessed of his adversary. The field was in Jack's advantage now, and yet he would be the one who would have to withdraw, was it?

He snarled as Heartless' voice raged in his ear, the battle-clarion of Corvus' own desire drowning her out. It was exactly as said - the battle was in his favor, now, and he would not be backing down while he had Club where he wanted him.
Dark flames coursed over his body again as he called up the last of his fervor. Black flames continued to spiral from on high down to engulf Club, whereas he once again charged at Club with full strength, spiralling in a devastating kill-dive against Club.

Here was the moment of truth then. Applying its defenses further than before, it would meet the killing dive directly as it appeared to be driven back. But that movement was all that was needed to change the tide, as the world that was ablaze began to change now that the deed was done. And with it the wooden lances would sprout from the ground behind them as Corvus carried along the Club, the waves changing to grass as the club was raised up high, being brought down time and time again in a frenzy with the intent to fully pulverize the target that was on the receiving end of the brutal blows.

The raging forest spiralled from the one bearing the mark of Club, and the sudden resurgence not only startled Jack, it looked for a moment like he had truly attempted to take off way more than he could handle.
As he began moving around in the air to get ready to deal with the assault, a pillar of shining water descended into the Noise Wave. Light arced from all sides and water welled up into impressive arrays as if of its own will, and once it was finished, none of the pillars of wood or a single swing of the club had made an impact. The light faded to show a regal figure dressed for war behind it, Queen Virgo a tall and imposing grandeur.
". . . I suppose this means we have to delete this thing, then," she commented to no one in particular, looking back at Jack, behind her. "Are you alright?"
"Hey, I'm fine!" he retorted, his flames bursting as he stepped up next to her. "I was gonna delete it, but I thought we'd want to study it first, figure out where it got that mark from," Jack explained, grumbling his response.
Queen Virgo shook her head. "It got the mark from us, clearly. I don't know how, but we're compromised. We're not going to welcome it into our home to compromise us further. We'll tie up these loose ends and wait until the knot at their center reveals it," she explained, raising her scepter towards Club. She was always smarter than she appeared, taking well after Heartless. Jack sometimes admired that; other times, he hated it.
The skilled duo stared down Club, and while the dark fires that Jack Corvus wielded burned brighter with his own fury, the waters that flowed from Queen Virgo glowed with luminescent zeal. The two charged at Club.
