As the two prepared to stand their ground, what came in was something that was approaching at an incredible speed. It flew by once, flaming balls of fire left in its wake that shot off firebirds at the pair that chose to stand their ground. It would dart by again, the second time causing a fierce wind and sonic attack by its mere passage. And from there it would stop its constant flight, letting out a shrill cry as the creature that had been approaching was none other than one that others knew the fate of. While that was unknown here, there was nothing to deny the fact that they were now face to face with one of the things that Warrior had told Joker of: the Cybeast Falzar.

As the duo stood their ground, Ace glanced up and watched as the shrieking beast came rolling by. The wings on his back flared to life and he began to move rapidly about, veering away from the shrieking balls of flame that came his way, and easily maneuvering away from the giant bird itself.
A familiar glow of energy surrounded Joker's body as the shriek of combat rolled through. Whereas Ace relied on his speed, Joker relied on his strength, as raw power flooded from him and encased him in a crimson roil that consumed the Cybeast's efforts.
Acid Ace finally paused from his rapid movements to get a good look at the Cybeast in question, and kept his eyes on the rapidly moving spheres of fire that came with it. Behind his own visor, his eyes were moving rapidly, keeping track of the spheres and the beast that spawned them, the lines of his suit shining to show the energy he had stored up from the movement. "I recognize this from Heartless' reports - this is a cybeast, isn't it? Falzar, I believe?"
Dread Joker kept his own eyes on the beast itself, not in the least worried about the lesser spheres that accompanied it. "Right; a creature born from the Bugs of this world, not unlike the Noisms from home," he agreed, adopting a wide stance as the power within him began to amplify and grow.
"You handle the big man and get ready for the kill swing, I'll handle the little things and make sure it can't get away from us. Sound like a plan?" He raised his gun and pulsed some energy from his suit into the handle, charging the blaster. The gun folded down and away, revealing a mighty beam-saber that sprung forth on its own.
"Sounds like as good a plan as ever. Don't let your guard down, for even a moment; nothing in the Net is as we know it. Whatever you learned from Heartless may not be relevant."
"Heh! I was gonna remind you of the same thing. A hero always comes well-prepared for anything, and never takes safety or freedom to chance!"
Joker narrowed his gaze as he watched the bird flying through the air, considering the little spheres, but remembering what he and his brother were known for. He was brutal, devastating, and all-consuming; his brother was efficient, fast, and fine-tuned. They were both capable of rapidly eliminating targets, but with very different styles of approach. Joker's power completely dominated any hope of overcoming through virtue of strength, and Ace's speed snuffed out any adversary hoping to overcome through virtue of evasiveness. The only difference between both of their records is that Joker was always far more willing to destroy an opponent outright, whereas Ace would bide his time to determine the best method with the least amount of resources expended.
Joker wasn't feeling particularly merciful at the time being. The power that he had in his system surged and welled up from within as he called to it. He raised up his hands and unleashed salvo after salvo of relentless missiles towards the Cybeast, with every intent of blotting out the sky. Paradoxically, with each salvo of missiles unleashed, the crimson in the air and within his own body multiplied, as the nuclear engine within his core took the energy and multiplied it by manifolds before it continued to release.
Holding that energy within his hands, Joker brought them together and forced the spheres of power into a compressed ball between his palms. Black energy surged over his body as the generational's power flooded him. He pulled his hands back, the energy racing between his palms and building up with each movement, before he surged his fists forward and unleashed a gigantic maelstrom of crimson energy, the Dread Satellite Laser more powerful than ever before. The crimson energy pulsed with raw strength as it ripped free from his hands, surging forward and spiraling dangerously, rapidly growing to encase the bird, the energy spheres, and anything else it could rip to pieces.
He didn't allow that energy to dwindle, however, as he gripped the laser within his gigantean fingers. Pulling the energy in and compressing it through sheer force of will, Joker was left with a single bead of crimson that crackled and shimmered in his hand, compressed so tightly that it was looking for an excuse to be released. Holding onto the volatile ray of energy, Joker keyed in on Falzar and simply let his control of the bead go. It rocketed forward, screeching through the air with a hissing sound as it ripped through the Net and burnt the air between him and the bird. All at once it expanded, a white-hot flash burning the bird's shadow into the ground as it engulfed the ruined space in absolute devastation. Using his ability to contort space-time, Joker manipulated the moment of its expansion to cause a chain-reaction, and kept that volatile eruption going far longer than the split-second it was supposed to embody.
For further insult to injury, Joker held onto two more beads to unleash, although these ones were not nearly as compressed as the original. He threw them at Falzar and Falzar alone, the minuscule flashes of nuclear energy more contained, but still just as lethal. Still grasping at space-time from where he unleashed his fury, Joker grimaced, his face in a perpetual scowl, and he gripped the space tight and twisted it. As he pulled, he contorted the Net to pull the explosives, the nuclear energy, the crimson beams, and all of the missiles back towards Falzar, turning the bird into the epicenter of reality crashing back inward on itself.
After such a display, Ace had little left to do. His brother was as impressive as always in eliminating foes, but Ace had his own merits. If the bird was still moving, he would launch himself into the air using his wing-burners, moving with incredible alacrity and grace. He aimed multiple strikes at the bird's wings, attempting to cleave through its feathers, all the while analyzing its evasive measures used both against his own attacks and Joker's. When he was finished with his array of slashes, moving with such finesse, he pulled back and unleashed his own blast of energy, a massive beam of crimson of his own design crashing forward from the collectors on his shoulders.

It would move its wings, the missiles being disjointed and exploding prematurely as the fire rose up as it was wiped out by the laser, surrounding the bird as it took flight once more with alacrity enough to escape the devastation that Joker had set loose. The flames would leave its form for a time after it outpaced Ace's own barrage as well as it went higher and higher, stopping at its ascent as it fired feathers down below at the Dread Joker as the wind that came with it served as its own kind of northwind against him as the sonic blast from the wings lashed out at both. This was when the assault would begin as its talons flashed, an assault unleashed as they soared about time and time again as talon upon talon rained down on both without relenting against them. It would again fly by them both as it had on its arrival, firebirds again being sent at them time and again.

The thing's speed was like Ace's, Joker noticed. As it soared up higher and higher, Joker was left wondering time and again if it would ever stop, or if it would ever choose to return. Left without any means of handling it, Joker kept his eyes on the sunbirds that were left behind.
Holding forward one hand, Joker amplified the power of his crimson defenses and stood fast against the beast's strikes, carefully taking a few blows here and there without serious harm in order to store that power within his own systems. He saw his brother maneuvering about, and watched as Ace decided to take enough hits to force himself into the black form that he was most feared for, but knew he had less control in that state when he was forced into it. Ace was not well-paired against his monster, at least not with how they had dealt with it thus far.
"We need more concise strikes than we do constant pressure. If we barrel into it too strongly we'll have to deal with that punishment. Let me worry about striking the bird; you can handle the fireballs, when it returns.
"For now, just bide your time, recover, and let me prepare to put this thing in its grave once it comes back down," Joker told Ace, as he once again unleashed a salvo of missiles, holding energy within his reserves to use to his own advantage. Rather than unleashing it as a gigantic laser all at once this time, he allowed it to wash over him, restoring his vitality and pulled what was left into a collection of buildings that he sent shrieking towards the sun spheres.
Ace, still recovering from the battering, only nodded his response to Joker, holding up his blaster and charging up his energy. Ace in his darkened state was always a strange sight to see, as his brother was rarely pushed so much, but it was his own folly that caused this. He was prepared to send his brother back home by force if he needed to, as he would not see him taken by this beast.

If there was any solace to be had it was that after destroying the flames, more did not spawn from the bird as it began its descent. The flames still rose back up to its form and passed through it, but it had only returned to their range now with no signs of any aggression as of this moment as the wind stirred around it. With their new knowledge assembled, now was the time to put the strategy into motion.

Joker and Ace stood strong as the bird came crashing back down towards them, eying it warily as the flames and winds once again kicked up around it, flowing through its body and scorching the battlefield in its wake. The winds that flowed around Ace deflected the heat without worry, and the maelstrom of crimson around Joker simply consumed it all before it could touch him.
Watching Ace standing in his out-of-control state was difficult, as Joker knew asking Ace in this state to pull his punches was far more trouble than he was willing to pay for. Still, the information running over his screen told him everything he needed to know. Falzar was wreathing himself in a treacherous wind that would turn the tide against them. He knew that Ace was still holding his cards tight to his chest, and Joker himself was nowhere near out of fuel; the exact opposite, really.
Joker stepped forward and put a hand in front of Ace, cementing crimson into a large block and putting it in front of them. "Hold your fire," he told Ace, glaring down the giant bird. "Your attack pattern is too dynamic. You can't take it down in one hit. I'll occupy it for the time being, but we can't risk anything. Just hold back and prepare."
Ace wasn't in the mood for talking, which was pretty typical when he was putting every ounce of willpower he had into not going completely berserk. Joker held forward one hand and twisted reality into his grip like a vice, space contorting around his fingers and fracturing into an impossibly dense field of crimson and spacial fluctuations. Pulling back one hand, Joker reached out and slammed forward, fracturing the Net in front of him, as he pulsed that power into the space. The very air fractured and contorted as the power coursed through it, ripples in the Net tearing open and unleashing massive vents of pure crimson until all at once a tear opened up in front of the Bird and unleashed from all sides.
Meanwhile, in his hand, Joker held a single, inconspicuous little bead.

As the vent would begin to open, again it would begin to soar outside of the range that they could operate in as it would repeat the offense of before to a degree as the winds that were circling it faded away. The flapping wings would send the sonic blast and feathers down upon them as only a single claw shot was sent out as it stayed out of their active range once more, but again had the flames begin to surge around its body but not the winds of before as well.

Joker's pressure proved what he wanted to prove, at the very least, as the beast rose itself up into the air once again. He kept his eyes on it, just as, out of the corner of his eye, Ace's color faded, and he was white once more.
"Welcome back," Joker said immediately. Ace just smiled behind his visor, holding up his buster as the two stood firm, each of them emitting their unique wavelengths of crimson to abate the bird's attacks.
"You're slacking," Ace said with a grin. "Shouldn't this be over by now?"
Joker raised an eyebrow as he looked over at Ace. "This coming from the one with a perfect Bust record. What happened to instant deletion procedures?"
"I thought I was the background character of this fight; wanted to let you shine a bit, since I'm obviously the main hero and you're usually the sidekick."
"Is everything about heroes with you?"
"In the world's darkest hour, its greatest hero will rise to protect it. So, we charge when its back down, yeah?"
"I will, yes. Its combat prowess is formidable, but I grow weary of waiting for it to come back down from its lofty seat."

As if on demand, the time had come for it to descend from its seat indeed. Its descent this time was different than before, as it used the speed to bring its wings along with the hurricane to greater effect, the sonic assault coming time and again as it soared about them and maintained the high ground.

As the finale came crashing forward from the raging cybeast, Joker held up one hand, his scowl hardening into a sneer. Crimson rolled off of him in waves, and with each successive wave, the power of the cybeast was simply ripped apart, with nothing left of it to worry him when it was done. Ace, no longer hindered by the sheer magnitude of the assault, evaded it without worry, as well, but he paused after he was finished to give Joker a side-glance.
"Joker . . . are you?"
"Save your worries. The only way to ensure this thing stays down is to give it our all, even if it won't be necessary. Where I don't succeed, it'll be up to you. You keep your energy flowing - by my rate, your almost at your peak, right?"
"Tsk . . . I suppose, yeah, but don't go doing anything stupid. You were designed with an on-board data analyzer even more pristine than mine, so go ahead and act like it! I can't go back to Heartless and tell her you went and played hero and died."
"Heh. I'll be fine. As for this bird . . ." Joker's face gets more serious as the space cracks and whines with his might, raising up one hand and pulling reality towards him through sheer will. Having marked the beast some time ago, he unleashed that force and sent the bead of devastation careening toward Falzar, while the power that he had built up overflows and then cascades outward. Crimson energy funnelled across his finger tips as he unleashed the Dread Satellite Laser, and as the laser made impact in the wake of the massive nuclear explosion, Joker himself removed all failsafes and went into melt-down, opening up the nuclear power within and unleashing it on all sides.

There was the bead from before that had marked it. The flame surged forth from its body in response as it became engulfed in the flames that began to contest the melt-down that was occurring before it. The radiation was staved off as it set loose yet another tornado that at least was weaker than those that came before, but still showed that the flames were beginning to stick to its form now, a constant reminder of the display it just showed off that it could intensify those very flames to respond to the oppressive all-encompassing destruction that Joker posed for a time yet.

Joker was being pushed to his limits, and with each passing moment was unsure of the confidence he brought into this scuffle from the very beginning. Ace still had enough energy to at least dodge around the beast's attacks, but Joker's hubris in thinking that the beast would be all burnt out by now would surely become his own undoing. He took the mauling with vigor, at the very least, avoiding the typhoon once again, and stood strong once all was said and done to stare the beast down.
"Please tell me you'll be able to put this thing down," Joker gruffed, glaring at his brother.
"Oh, so I do need to be the main character after all?"
"Enough with the games! We're running out of mileage, so can you handle it, or not?"
"The perfect solution, every time. Don't you remember?"
"Then let's see it. We can stand tall against whatever it has for us, next."

The wings would be brought forth once more to unleash the sonic barrage at them, the wind alongside it to continue the ever-constant pressure that was being applied against them, as it was also far from a merciful mood just as the one who confidently engaged against it.

The wave from the cybeast once again came crashing down onto them, and Joker narrowed his eyes as he looked back on the battle as a whole. Holding his ground, he waved a hand through the air, dispersing the blaze, while Ace unleashed a stream of energy to maneuver around the danger.
Grimacing, his jaw locked, Joker turned to glance at Ace. "Do we have an extraction point?"
Ace paused mid-dash, his energy having built up; it was practically pouring out of the lines of his suit, and the wings on his back were constantly flaring, preparing to unleash. "Excuse me? Extraction point? You're trying to leave?"
"Our combat efficiency rating is too far corrupted; our chances of survival aren't just low, they're non-existence if we keep going!"
"Joker, our collective success rate is 100%! That's why we're here, don't you get it?" Ace glowered at him, still staring down the bird, believing himself capable of handling it. "The heroes can always find a way; no matter how dire, the heroes can win!"
Joker scowled, shook his head, and held out one hand. Crimson surged from his palm and created a wall between himself, Ace, and the bird. "Our collective success rate is 100%, and our collective failure rate is 0%. Failure in this instance is failure to return to Heartless and King functional. We've collected key combat data, and we know more about our adversary, but we are not in a space that we can defeat this foe. Are the heroes in your fairy tales arrogant, too, brother? Are they incapable of retreat, to live and fight another day?"
For all his excitement, and obvious smarts, Ace looked genuinely ticked; upset, even. Still, he pulled back from the bird, glancing at Joker. "Yeah, I can get us out of here. My wingblade is fully prepared. No way it can chase us down if we move at that speed."
"We just need to get far enough away that we can recuperate. I still don't know much of what's going on outside of Netopia, so we can't leave this network, as of right now," Joker explained, needing his brother to understand.
"Heartless isn't going to like you avoiding coming home so much; to say less about King. I don't need to tell you that, though, huh?" Ace gave him a look that told him he knew the answer to that question and plenty other ones that were unspoken. He and his brother were raised in the same hell, afterall. "Let's go, then. And for the record, when Tia asks, this was your idea."

The analysis was complete to let them know that discretion was the better part of valor. Their retreat secure and the only necessity being to enact it, they were able to withdraw as it attacked the wall created between them as they would bolt away with Acid Ace's speed.
