As the Armored Destroyer kept going he would notice a pattern to some of the shots eventually no doubt. They were aimed either where it was assumed he was or had veered incredibly off course to a different location. Like the main control room, the archive room, the commander's room already having been destroyed... these attacks had a motive. While he was hunting down the intruder he was systematically taking out key locations in New Life while causing damage inside. He was going to continue this pace until the shift happened, the single eye narrowing.
"...Ascension? It's too soon for them to take their wings skyward."
One of his guns vanished, leaving his hand empty instead. The firing had ceased and had allowed the Armored Destroyer to make it to his goal, but then the entire base shook as a force hit it instead to combat its ascent. From inside, Glint had punched the floor of the aerial fortress to force it to stay at its present height. He drew back, striking again with his absurd strength. The force from the punch rather than hit the inside of the building would instead move and find its way outside and above New Life itself, slamming down into it. And such a feat could only be accomplished by few with such an ability. Rather than allow them to reach however high up they planned to go he would make his goal to keep them grounded at their present height in the sky above. But why he would prioritize that over a possible information leak was difficult to say the least about.
And the nameless navi would in fact notice some rather changed files in his hacking. Which meant that some information had been stored here after all. Now all that had to be done was obtaining it all before Glint got tired of playing push against New Life or New Life itself got destroyed in all the turmoil taking place, as well as something else he would have felt for just a few moments much farther below from New Life, in Element City below.
-
Kajira's movements had been more than swift enough to catch the Reaver Commander unaware. As she reached for him from behind, she met something that she was all too familiar with. The very field she had used to defend with before, the energy that had been taken out before being around him as a field now. It didn't last long underneath her offense, but this was when she hit the second field. A sort of blue barrier that had formed up, lines of light streaking from the reaverbots that were in formation with him. The truth of that having been revealed, the Reaverbot glanced over to her one last time before firing upward again to the well that they were now reaching equal level with, though something was forcing them to go back down as well. But three more shots hit the ice, managing to get his desired result as it cracked. That crack in the ice was all that he needed to make as it managed to force its way out after... only to vanish. Some sort of hole opened up and just... engulfed it after? It was here that the Reaver Commander still didn't turn his attention to Kajira: but instead to Joker. Kajira would notice around now as she was close enough, but there was some sort of strand of energy extending from it to Joker.
"We know you pretty intimately, Animus. Deav, get ready."
His job was to deal with Joker's next move, holding his ground as it started to hit its apex. His approach to it was the most effective when it came to Joker himself. So at long last he used his other arm instead his larger one, meeting the Eraser directly. It generated a reaction, causing both sides to be blown back from one another, but both sides to come out unscathed. A sort of ceasefire motion, if you would. The exact opposite of his typical purpose. He had taken hold of what Gravity Beetle had unleashed for them and sent it to its proper place for later, so now came their other purpose here, as Deav was turning his attention to Kajira now as well.
"But you have more important things to do with your life than grasp at straws for what you desire, don't you? Something that you will not be able to reach any longer at this rate?"
-
As the Overlord continued his assault, the strikes managed to land true on the death engine. It didn't manage to destroy its weapons however, but it was at least the start of his offense against it as it instead focused on him next as he wanted. And it unleashed the shots once more, also sending the salvo of missiles in his direction to attempt to overwhelm the Overlord with that destructive show of force.

*As the missiles began their lock-on of Genesis, a reddish-white streak appeared, with fluctuating intense heat. The Empress arrived, getting between the Overlord and his attackers. With her left hand, Embera gripped the fiery blade and swiped, her breath becoming cold, as all of her flames were drawn into the weapon. As she swung, several dozens of the first volley of missiles erupted in a fiery blaze, before the flames returned to Embera, shrapnel and debris falling into the areas below. As the flames died down, she pulled apart the claymore and rested the blazers in notches on her waist. Keeping herself by his side, Embera exhaled calmly, an aura of fire and light enveloping them. She smiled at Genesis, a small twinkle in her eye, of a tear she refused to shed quite yet. Not yet able to find the words herself, she could only nod to Genesis as if to say she was back by his side once more.*

Dread Joker @ Unity Proxy
Had it not been for the other Reaverbot thrusting his thus far unused arm forward to meet Joker's fist, the two would've never collided. The moment that name fell in the air, Dread Joker's open palm halted. His eyes itensified behind his blue visor, but, the Reaverbot had already slung his own counterblow. In a flurry of energy, the both of them were flung apart, and Dread Joker found himself drained as though he had struck with his full force, even as the energy never left his body. He was no longer worried about this fight, though, or even that the Reaverbot was obviously stronger than he. No, he was focused on that name.
"What did you call me?"
He looked across the battlefield at the Reaver that Kajira was fighting against, remembering what his opponent had said - Deav. He was sure that the Satellite would have some reserves on his information, but, he didn't dare access it - especially now that he could clearly see the connection of data between that being and himself. So he was the one that degraded his connection to the Satellite - by rapid data deterioration, it made it appear as though his connection was worsening. In reality, the data he was expending to connect with it was just being destroyed.
And this one. He turned back to the other, who had just raised his other arm to strike him down. An individual leading a group, giving out orders, carefully calculating each strike against an individual doing their own calculations. He was designed, if not to specifically combat him, then to have a wide range of applications in combat in general . . . and, now, he'd played his hand and put himself in a dire situation. Apparently, he misjudged just how much they knew about him.
They had more information than he did. Which gave them not only an advantage on the battlefield, but leverage against him that he didn't have against them. He was in a dangerous position, and, given present company, if they knew too much and deigned themselves to speak, his chances with the ONB could be compromised.
"Tread lightly. I have but one purpose, and I believe it is you who are infringing upon it right now. If you are suggesting what I suppose you are suggesting . . ." Joker pauses, turning to look at Kajira, and then remembering the oath he had made with Unity not too long ago . . .
Fight for their purpose for them, when they no longer can . . .
". . . You call me that name, but claim to know of my goals? . . . My purpose?"

....time running short already?
He'd ignored the change in trajectory, he'd ignored the attacks from below, but with this force attempting to push New Life back into place, the Armored Destroyer knows that time is almost up. At this point the data to be gained could be seen as trivial. So, instead, the nameless Navi shifts tactics.
Instead of downloading data, he instead begins to upload.
Within moments, the government server begins to leak videos and documents; the same data that he and the rest of his group had gathered. The destruction of Rammount, brought about due primarily to Rosso. Resonance's data, including proof that Griega wasn't simply contained, but released by choice. Video of Magnolia entering the basement of Rammount, where every governmental law says she should not be allowed, and looks on with approval.
While nothing in this data leak could be considered concrete, it would definitely raise questions, slow their progress, and rally those in a more neutral position against this rising regime. The benevolent cover that they'd held over themselves now had holes in it, and someone would begin looking into those holes for sure.
Done with his job and running out of time, the Destroyer takes a step back and prepares to teleport out. But this is when he would feel it; an unnaturally powerful pull towards element city. A nearly irresistible call, as if his very destiny lay before him.
....but he also knew the truth; this was not what it seemed. He'd felt this before, he knew it. And all that he can do now is smile as he intently stares into the shadows of the room. A second chance would soon arrive.

*As the larger rounds came at him, the previous rounds appeared that had vanished before into their path of fire to collide into one another and explode. The missile barrage was going to take a bit more than that, but before he had to take any action did the Solar Empress arrive. She fended off fairly well with that large sword... she had... there. That was absolutely Zane's signature weapon, even going into the two Blazers that would normally forge the claymore. And her expression said that there was more to this than Zane just passing it over to her, returning her smile with a sort of solemn one of his own. It couldn't be good news for what was going to be discovered here.*
"We can talk as soon as clear out this rabble."
*If they came at it with their combined strength it would go down sooner rather than later. So he continued his charge to close the distance between it, but not one that he planned to close entirely. He just wanted to be a bit closer to get a more vivid picture of it, to see parts of it that he couldn't see this far out. And once he did, his plan of attack besides assaulting its gun battery would solidify. But for now, he would keep doing just that on the way forward as he repeated the same attack he had just previously against it once more as the spheres careened toward his opposing war machine. New Life should be able to take care of itself for just a bit longer, that was all he needed it to do right now.*

The electricity that rained down from above was channeled through her, the woman's entire form lighting up with untold energies as she thrust it forward toward the figure before her, simply looking to turn him to ashes. However, as her hand drew close, a barrier of her own design got in the way, and the woman couldn't help a savage snarl as the anger twisted her features from something captivating to furious as her hair splayed out behind her in the lightning and winds that surrounded her. This was the final strike, or it should have been, but instead the rifleman had managed a defense against her. darn it all. darn everything. She wanted to just throw back her head and scream. Not obsenities or vulgarities, or anything specifically directed at anyone but to simply scream. A primal urge of raw, pent-up frustrations elicited in a single moment of weakness. It had been building since Bayside, and even now it was still bubbling just under the surface. Nothing was going right. Nothing was going her way. She had nothing but failure after failure since then and now there was little that would happen here, too.
She wouldn't quit. Kajira didn't quit. She had no real fathom of what that word even meant. She would do her assigned task to the best of her abilities. However, she wasn't blind to what was happening down below, in Element City. Reports came in, in real-time of the devastation that had been caused, of the potential Life Virus lurking beneath their streets, and how the ONB had allowed this to happen. There were some interviews that Blake was watching that she was getting information of, where some were blaming ONB, and that they found the fact that New Life was retreating from the scene to be indicative of their guilt. Kajira wanted to just unleash a thunderous storm upon all of them, but she knew that she could not. Those people deserved the protection of the ONB, and they had failed the people as a whole. It seemed that despite the casualties, a number of people had escaped and for that she was thankful...but...even still. This was her fault. All of this going down when she wasn't here. She should have stayed a solo operative. The red tape coming from above made doing her job incredibly difficult.
Her pity party, however, would have to wait as Joker fired some attack at the other Reaverbot that was there, but there was little-to-no effect, and she knew that it wasn't from a lack of trying on Joker's part. The...navi, or database, or program, or whatever he was, he had power within him. His strength coming to naught against the might of this other meant that they might be horribly outmatched...but Kajira didn't want to quit. It was the smart choice- to let Gravity Beetle take this into the sky and just surrender New Life in that fashion, but she didn't want to let it go. Stubbornness flooded through her, as did electricity as the being overhead began to unleash another torrent of lightning down upon them. She raised her hand once again, the energy flowing into her as she sneered at the one who had addressed the rifleman, Deav. "If you mean the reports concerning Element City and the one known as Rosso assisting in laying waste to it...that ship has sailed. I can't undo what's been done. But I can silence you and your silent partner," she growled, unleashing the raw energy that she had drawn into herself skyward, letting her trademark Storm of Vengeance begin to form in the area between her and the thing pouring lightning down. She could make its power her own. She would.
But the power that was in her now, she didn't let go to waste. She noted that Joker had been referred to as an Animus, but at the moment, she didn't really care if he was Animus Syndicate or Bob's Discount Computers- she would take whatever help he could offer her as she stepped forward and from her fingertips launched out two jets of lightning, strong enough to pierce even the strongest armor, aiming one at each of the other two Reaverbots. If nothing else, she'd keep them busy and let Joker do something. But she had no plans to escape. Not here. Not now. If these two were half as competent as they seemed, shutting them down would help the cause immensely.
However, what lay up her sleeve would take only a moment longer to activate. Just as soon as the thing above sent down another bolt.

Unity, if he were still in his Navi-like form, would have widened his eyes substantially. The Dread Joker's lack of resolve at the reaver's words was both shocking and disheartening.
Unity: ...Joker, sir... I don't really know what's going on here, but please, listen to me...
Despite being an inherently weak force, Joker would feel Unity's power surge within him as the small proxy attempts his next move.
Unity: Your goals are now to show others that what they believe in matters, to change their lives, to show them that there's a better way to live, to show them that anyone and everyone has what it takes to protect what they stand for, and to protect your team!
You're my team mate, sir... and my goal isn't just to protect you, it's to show you that what you believe in matters!
Rather than the gray or blue aura of Unity, or for that matter the crimson power that had been demonstrated to amazing effectiveness, Joker becomes enshrouded in a deep orange field, one unlike what Unity had brought on before.
Unity: ...so here goes!
Unity connects deeper with Joker, and then uses the crimson-user's natural connection to the satellite above. A sudden boom from the heavens opens up and Unity leaves Joker, instead merging himself with the connection between the colossal Navi and his satellite, simultaneously shielding the connection between Joker and his source and opening the flow, granting Joker maximum access to the power that he desperately needs.
Meanwhile, Gravity Beetle curses under his breath. The shaking of New Lie combines with the internal attacks, alerting him to the shadows of this attack that he hadn't yet known. But the jets weren't his last line of defense in this.
Gravity Beetle: ....if Gate can do this...
The intruder attacking from inside would quickly realize that New Life was ramping up hard, and that he hadn't won this fight yet...
Gravity Beetle: ....then SO CAN I!
With one last pull on the controls and one last order, Gravity Beetle opens up a screen. In a matter of a few seconds he chooses a destination.
...this is when New Life quakes.
An unreasonably large light flashes out of New Life, and in its wake a link rises to the sky. The same type of link that Gate had used a few years ago to connect to Duo's Meteor Network, but instead it's locked onto the Galaxy Network, and, in this case, it's made so absurdly large that New Life itself is being drawn through it at ever-increasing speed.

"They're things that you can't gain when working with weaklings, Joker. When there are others more useful and more powerful, why stifle your beliefs? For their sake? Are they worth losing everything for? If not, help knock that girl off of here right quick and head for the Forest Network."
This was when they would get to Kajira. Deav was already turning his attention to her, and Unity's move had been made. And it was thanks to Unity's action that he would notice that the connection had been fairly well established still. Rather than the connection itself suffering problems, it had been what Joker would be storing within himself. The reserves when he would gain them would rapidly decay, while the other was keeping Joker from acting at his best by manipulating the tides of battle itself. And that while the connection was solid... it was also moving at an alarming pace. The silent one would speak now, as everything was coming to a head.
"Rosso? Who? I don't see any such figure in any of these feeds."
-
In the live feed that had come from Element City, it was total chaos. But from the videos and recordings that had gone off, there had been no such imagery of Rosso himself. In fact, the damage to city mostly appeared to come from the geyser of flames that seemed to be bombed planted all over by someone else prior to the attack. Besides this was the fading example caused by Resonance, the explosion from Serix, and the Life Virus still undetained with no resistance being offered save for K-414.
The destruction shown in Rammount was quite similar. It showed Genesis and Nameless causing quite a lot of destruction, but none of which showed Rosso in the footage whatsoever. And there was no way they could have tampered with the feed, as it had been uploaded directly from the Armored Destroyer himself. The same could be said of Magnolia, who was also absent from the footage, though footage of Griega and the willing release by the others there was certainly still shown. This would serve to discredit the NIA much like the ONB was from abandoning ship while the Life Virus was running rampant.
-
"So let's wrap this up, Var."
Deav and Var would both spring to action, Var lifting his left arm to catch the oncoming storm. Much like with Joker before, it was being canceled out in the end of war. Deav was more proactive however, darting right past the lightning with speed surpassing it as he reached his hand out and grabbed Kajira's arm. And that moment of contact was all he needed as she felt her strength dwindle swiftly and leaving her open for the next strike as well, the Calamity aboving having ceased its attack suddenly as well.
But he lost his grip from the sudden increase of speed, leaving her drained but not dying yet as a result. Something was going on inside now, something that caused a great deal of alarm in both of them. It would still allow Joker his time to act as they desired, but...
"We're already in range of the full power of the Dainsleif. We're leaving."
They would have to leave her in that condition and go now then. The reaverbots that remained started to move first, being drawn upward by some pulling force that seemed to be coming from the Calamity that had ceased its attack. Var and Deav had been taken in the same fashion, being pulled off of the New Life as its ascent would continue.
-
Inside, Glint felt the shift too and the increase in speed. And it caused his eye to shine, a snarl under his breath. He was still continuing his climb upward? Then the attack would cause greater damage than they anticipated. They would be allowed to see the Galaxy Network... right before their demise.
"Then soar, Icarus. Dainsleif, fire."
He aimed and fired, tearing yet another hole into the New Life that he jumped out of, leaving them to the fate that they had chosen. And if they were fortunate, their unification would all but die this very day as well. From the footage that would ruin both of the groups, as well as the damage that would be inflicted to them from this very battle.
-
As Genesis continued his attack and Embera was preparing to join him, they noticed a massive tear open up beneath the improbable engine. It was sinking into it, causing its own withdrawal as the attacks from Genesis would miss it as a result. The day was steadily appearing to be all but won at long last...
But at that very moment everyone went deaf from the roar of thunder that surpassed even the cannons that were firing so far away now. And from above New Life as it was continuing its climb, something devastating tore through it and some even hitting the Atlas as well. It had flown by so quickly that by the time it had made impact it had run through and was on its way down to Element City, but dozens upon dozens had flown through New Life and littered it with massive holes from top to bottom as it became an imagery of swiss cheese.

(Vagueness is no bueno!)
Moments after the artillery is unloaded the Life Viruses final act of defiance reveals itself from high above. A flaming meteor of colossal(near Atlas) size screeches through the outer perimeter of the network. It blows through what little material resistance could be offered by the smaller fleet of ships and pieces and collides directly into New Life as it ascends higher and higher. Exploding into several shards and blowing large chunks of the flying fortress apart. Sending hunks and pieces of it hurdling down below with pieces of the meteor.

Dread Joker
Kajira's show of resolve and Unity's last attempt at strenghtening the Dread Joker dissolved under the administrations of the Reavers before them. Just as he had suspected, the one called Deav was not in any way hindering his personal connection, but, the data stored within him as he collected it. The one he had been fighting the whole time met Kajira's final strike much like he had met Dread Joker's, and, in a flare of energy, Kajira's powerful assault was left without fruits.
He had come into New Life earlier that morning in search of a cause to put his name behind, in hopes that, through that cause, he would be able to exemplify his purpose and strengthen his resolve. Unity, no longer intricately connected to Joker's mind, wouldn't sense the shift in his train of thought . . .
. . . But Joker saw no other way. Why risk it all? What he had considered at the very beginning of this fight was in no way avoidable, and, as he feared, this fight wasn't just a fight against him, but, against his satellite. Through one way or another, they knew about him, and knew what lengths to go to in order to weaken him and lay leverage against him. It was a dirty trick, but, it was a tactical one. These are the kind of decisions he collects data for, just to make on his own.
The Reaverbots were right. There were ideals and beliefs at stake here, and they were all his. At whose expense? Individuals that he barely knew, who couldn't drive back this invasion? No. No, he did not have that level of connection to these people, yet. Their actions were foolish and based on some flawed idea that they could make it through, and, as a result, the enemy, based on the video footage, had created a scene very indicative of the ONB. He wanted nothing to do with that.
"You're wrong, Unity. As I said . . . I have but one purpose. Unfortunately for you, it is the winners who get to decide history . . . and I insist on being on the right side of it."
The Dread Joker spun, raising his hand to touch the tangible connection between his Satellite and himself, Crimson arcing across his palm as he wrenched into the data and grasped hold of Unity within it. "And even if we were allies, this would be a line you wouldn't be allowed to cross," he sneered, smashing Unity into the ground beneath him, tearing him from the connection with his satellite. "No one syncs with that connection. It is my birthright alone.
They said that they were within firing range of the Dainsleif. Whatever that meant, Joker could presume it meant that they were about to destroy the New Life base. Strengthening his grip, Joker channeled Crimson to surround a block of condensed the condensed black material - familiar to Unity as his Gigaton Building - around one of the OS's legs. Unsure if this would surely keep the OS down, as his form wasn't material, he could at least try. "If you believe so strongly in that which you said earlier, then you can fall with those that share it."
Then, he turned to Kajira. They had tasked him with knocking her off, but, it appeared that they were retreating now, and he could see the fruits of their labors. They had weakened her sufficiently enough that he wouldn't need to worry about keeping her pinned down, like he had attempted on Unity. No - it was time to leave, as they had said.
"Look at you, kneeling. Almost poetic." He didn't stay to gloat, though. Turning, Dread Joker charged his fist with crimson particles, and turned, smashing what looked like a giant rift in the net into the air in front of him. In a flash of crimson energy, the rift swallowed him whole, and quickly closed.

"There was a time when you took up my mantle in order to accomplish your goals without worry . . . now, I hope, you will not mind if I take up yours for mine."
A field of dark energy welled up from underneath Kajira, as a moment was stretched across thousands, a familiar energy welling up from within it. A form she would surely recognize beckoned at her from within the void, and Xion reached up to pull her into the void. As his arms wrapped around her body, crippled and frail, however, she would not feel the thing that connected her to Xion - she would not feel the familiar embrace, nor the power that Xion carried with him. In fact, the Navi wrapping her within his arms felt in every way foreign to the Navi she knew, but, only after the touch. In every other way, he appeared like the Silver Tyrant, and the power he radiated was right. But the touch . . . it was wrong.
Elsewhere, within the base, the same voids of power opened up beneath the Gravity Beetle, the face of the master darkloid visible for a moment before the darkness swallowed him up, too, taking what he could of the survivors within the base, even grabbing little Unity from his constraints, before the slowed pace of the world around them sped back up. Just as was expected, the force of the explosions would meet against New Life.
And New Life would be found empty of the survivors of the catastrophe thus far.

The scene hurt, both physically and emotionally. There was little that he could do; Joker ejected himself from the OS, leaving him helpless against the onslaught that was to come. Every attack lands true, nearly tearing the young entity to pieces. The only failure among the blows would be the restraint attempts, simply because of the fact that the "Navi" within the bubble was nothing more than a projection. However, this does not change the facts; In the end, Unity, broken in body and spirit, kneels at the feet of the colossal Navi that he'd respected, lost and unwilling to fight when the void swallows him.
...but not all in this scene had lost hope. Gravity Beetle is drawn into the darkness and disappears, gone from the cockpit of New Life in an instant....
Yet not gone for long.
A moment later, another rift opens, with the visage of Gravity Beetle dragging himself back and away from the darkness, looking back the whole while with his eyes showing an unwavering fortitude.
Gravity Beetle: I don't care what you're doing...
Despite the power of the one attempting to hold him back, Gravity Beetle continues. Combat capability would be a measure that most Navis would use to determine power, but this was not a fight... this was a test of raw strength; a feature that the onyx-shelled commander had in spades.
Gravity Beetle: ...I WILL see this to the end, and it's not over....
A burst of spacial energy surges through the spacial Navi, causing his entire body to shift colors wildly as he makes one final push.
Gravity Beetle:....until I say it's over!
With one final push, Gravity Beetle rears his head back and cuts his horn around, sealing off the hole that tried to hold him in. Despite this, he wastes no time and returns to the helm. New Life was speared and lost to the onslaught... but there was one last tactic up his sleeve.
Gravity Beetle: ...well, Commander Magnet, it flew for years and served us well...
Gravity Beetle makes one last set of commands and inputs them, opening up the console one final time.
Gravity Beetle: ....so it's time for it to serve us one final time.
Gravity Beetle inputs one final command....
Code: Suki
...and teleports himself away.
In its final moment of glory, one would say that New Life glowed in its last moment. Commanders of old and Navis of renown and greatness had walked through these halls, and many attacks had been stopped from this command station. Not everything done here was right, but it all had meaning. And this final moment would be no different.
The sky above Electopia fades white, the fields and waters are torn from the chaos. The entire network would see, but Element City itself would see the grand show. With a burst of light and all of the power of the super-base released, the final function of New Life brings out a spectacular show. With a shock-wave felt far and wide, the titanic sky-base self destructs into a network-sized ball of absolute destruction.
In a final move and a final show, New Life, the ONB HQ of so many years... is no more.

As the lightning came down, it fed through Kajira's own stormcloud that she had put above, the Storm of Vengeance. As it did, the energy was diverted, striking down upon the top of New Life as directed by her, but the woman hadn't predicted well enough the routing of power, and the toll it would take on her control and despite attempting to fry Deav with this power, the lightning wasn't able to be controlled as she willed it, slamming down and carving huge swaths of the surface of New Life with every bolt that came down. The woman hissed as the lightning failed to hit much of anything of value, but at the same time, she wasn't exactly surprised. That wasn't her electricity, after all. She couldn't control it as well as she had her own, though she'd hoped that she'd have been able to.
As the other spoke, she blinked, her eyes shimmering for a moment as she checked the feeds. Rosso...wasn't there. She had imagined with such widespread destruction, with Flames, that the only culprit had to be him, but he wasn't anywhere. She'd made an assumption and it seemed that assumption was incorrect. "I don't know what you're trying to pull...but I won't let it happen! the woman howled as she brought the force of her storm down on Var...but the man simply did the same as he had before to Joker, reducing her attack to nothing.
She was about to move her arm, to aim lower, to target his legs, when she realized her arm didn't move and glancing to the side, she saw the rifleman, Deav, with his hand on her arm. Immediately, before she could respond, she felt her power starting to fail, her systems shutting down...but thankfully it didn't continue and the woman staggered, her knees bent but a metal staff appeared from within her hand, planting on the ground as her body shuddered, everything she had being focused into that staff to stay standing. She would not bow to these reaverbots. She would not fall to her knees before them, no matter what they aimed to do to her.
HOwever, the coversation between Joker and the reaverbots finally reached her ears and her gaze moved over to them, noting as Joker cast off Unity, (someone Kajira was unfamiliar with and honestly had no idea what that was about,) before giving a speech encompassing his own selfishness. "You had better hope I not see you again," the woman rasped, despite her weakened state, her eyes glimmered with the promise of deletion.
Another explosion rocked New Life and Kajira's feet struggled to keep steady, when a black void began to appear beneath her and she looked down and...it was Xion? The man was a master of the darkness and shadows and so she didn't quite question what this was. If it was an escape she didn't want it...but she felt the distinct hum of New Life starting to take effect, and she knew that this was something...else. It was in their handbooks, something she'd read and had information on even before joining up with them officially. With a curse, she saw the retreating reaverbots and then down to the void that was holding her as she finally let the tension drop, the woman simply allowing the void to consume her.
Only realizing once she had committed that whatever this was...it wasn't Xion. Electricity built within her then as the woman's brilliant yellow eyes narrowed. She was drained...but she wasn't out of this yet. The arms about her slim shoulders were familiar and wrong both. "What are you?" she growled, not releasing the electricity point-blank, mostly out of fear of reprisal. She wasn't strong enough right now to fight at this distance without being deleted...but she wanted whoever this was to know that she remained unconvinced.

"What?"
*It was retreating? That was strange. And then suddenly he couldn't hear anymore, his free hand going to his ear as he shook his head. What in the world just happened? He looked back to New Life, upward mostly to see that it suddenly was riddled with holes. He still couldn't hear anything, but clearly whatever hit it was ridiculously powerful... and then the meteor crashed into it as well. So the machine retreated because the battle was already won... that was unfortunate. He wouldn't be able to take care of what he wanted then. And then the base started to shine, the end of New Life that stood testament to the ONB for so many years at last coming down.*
"...So that's it, huh?"
*It had served as a beacon of tyranny and hope both, and now it stood as a sign to just how dangerous their enemies were. Unsure if Embera could hear or not, he grabbed her shoulder instead as he pulled the cloak around them as it engulfed them inside the space within for their departure. They were more than far enough away from the blast either way, but they would have to head elsewhere to regroup after that fight. And from the look of things they would all be scattered for a time too, for now heading for the Heap.*

The moment Kajira gave in, the void swallowed them. Xion did not fight back against the Gravity Beetle as he decided to take up his own fate, and left the general to what he would prefer. He had a mission to accomplish, and he could respect that.
However, still within the voidless form, not even appropriately described as black, as their was no color around them at all, Kajira, still wrapped in his arms as he had been grabbing the few scragglers within the base, wreathed up a protective veil of electricity. Behind his helmet, Xion's eyes glowed, shifting to a piercing yellow for but a moment, as the electricity she channeled was harmlessly absorbed into his form.
Of course she would recognize his touch. The two were very close, as he had observed - but he needed her to believe his facade the most, as it would be her that it would be the most difficult to appease. He spoke, his voice unmistakably that of the one she knew.
"Kajira, you are battle weary and literally drained. I expected you to be a little out of it, but, to not even recognize me? It's a little hurtful."
Regardless of whether or not she gave herself to his embrace, he turned within his void to consider a destination. They were using the Forest as a point of access, and any assault on New Life and Element City would surely have affected the forest, which left them with few options - one place that they had already razed would be a good choice, for now, at least. Less obvious, and less likely to harm anyone else should they take to it.
The void shifted, the only features within it the Navis laying about around them, Xion staying ever closer to Kajira as she would feel the shift, the Darkloid taking her to a new place. Slowly but surely, the energy radiating from the master darkloid felt more and more right . . . less off, more akin to that which she knew of it.
He was taking them to Bayside in order to recooperate. With any luck, they could rest there for a while. Besides, it was a place that Xion and Kajira had been to before - with any luck, by playing on the cords of her memory, he could convince her. Then . . . he could convince himself.
