Total Intro Posts: 2 Total Battle Posts: 7 Judge Type: Single Story Version: Off (Matched at V8[The Average]) ========================== The storm rolling in overhead was almost poetic. She'd arrived in the small field just outside of Element City a few moments ago, and as soon as she had done so, the thunder boomed overhead, as if announcing its presence. The woman glanced skyward, her pristine features muted in the dim lighting of the overcast sky. "I suppose that things always tend to turn out like this." The storm shaman, or what she had been once, turned her yellow-eyed gaze to the Navi that wasn't too far from her. "I appreciate you meeting me out here on such short notice. You're ONB, according to the reports, but your power is growing a little quickly according to the information my NetOP was given." Blake had gotten from his father some information regarding this cat-like Navi known as Nightshade. The individual was said to be a skilled combatant, and have a number of tricks up his sleeve. For that, Kajira was most interested in him and what he represented. "We haven't been officially introduced, but that's also due to the short notice." The woman ran her fingers through her long, silver hair, pushing several strands away from her face. The features she had were beautiful, but cold, as if she had been carved from marble. Her body held the designs of a pubescent teenage male, but even so, she didn't carry herself with a lack of dignity. She appeared refined, if nothing else. "I am Kajira Senrai. I am what you'd call a subcontractor for the ONB. I handle investigations and apprehenshions for them which are above the rank-and-file...or ones that they are not certain they can complete. The ONB has thusly asked me to ascertain your skill level and see where your skills lie."She knelt down, placing a small device on the ground which anchored itself. After a moment, it sent out a pulse, creating a wide area around them. "Don't be alarmed. This just sanctions this area down for combat. The ONB uses it on occasion for drills and exercises. It creates a backup copy of an environment which does not affect the actual area we're standing in. In short, nothing done here will reflect back, so don't hold back. I've also calibrated it to put our respective data equal, so you may find yourself a little faster than you're used to. A little stronger. Just think of this as a training exercise for the ONB and hold nothing back." The small smile that she wore faded slightly. "Any questions?"

There he stood, under the dim crashing sound of water falling from the sky. That woman...he had accessed her file on his way there. Apparently, a hot shot even if only a ONB subcontractor.
More over, her words...was that the reason he had been assigned this mission? His powers' growth rate was quicker than expected and the ONB wanted to test him? Test his skills for what? He didn't have any amazing nor unique power, and the only real worthy mention in his kit was nothing but an old outdated mechanic no one ever used anymore.
The cat-like navi's tail waved in slow, low horizontal arcs as he pondered the lady's words once more. In that place he was in, full of legends, he never shined brightly above any other. He was nothing but an average joe most of the time. Yet there he was, tasked to take some sort of test.
Nightshade's eyes locked onto the foreign device and followed its every movement. He noted its location and the field it generated. If the woman thought he would believe her, she was wrong. No matter the situation, battle analitics are fundamental to ensure victory. You may be able to wield the power of a Cybeast and destroy worlds...however, wars were won by thoughts and not actions. With logic or initiative, you can find finite to the infinite, limits to the limitless. His mind was his ultimate tool.
His eyes moved back to the woman, the two deep blue sapphires p pierced through the rain with a fierce glare full of determination. The black and green navi made sure nothing could be discerned from his body language. He would never allow the opponent to know of his turmoils, doubts or psychological state. He made a mental note to be wary of the device. There could be a high probability of it being a trap.
Either way, until he would be 100% sure it was not a trapping device, he would fight as if nothing was there and none of her words were valid. To be honest, the navi was very worried about the soon to be fought battle. If he wanted any sort of chance to win with a six version disadvantage, he couldn't just fight well. He couldn't just fight amazingly well. Hell, even fighting astoundingly well woudn't cut it. One hit and it all could very well be over. One hit, and he would get deleted. If he wanted to survive...
He had to be Flawless.
Not only that, but she probably knew of his moves. So he most probably had to improvise on top of finding out how she carried her fights to a enemy deletion.
Nightshade's eyes imperceptibly flicked left and right, for his usual situational awareness check. He then refocused onto the lady, not saying a single word. He waited to see her next move.
...
He wasn't good with conversations anyway.

The other was just mostly...watching her. He didn't talk? She frowned, going over the data that she'd looked at regarding him in her head and knew that he had. Why wasn't he talking now? Was he seriously trying to be an edgy, macho tryhard and not at least engage her in conversation? Seriously? Ugh. Why did she even bother trying to be nice to these people? Well, that was all well and fine. She wouldn't be working with him in the day-to-day anyway, so that wasn't anything to worry about. She had her assignment which was to ascertain his level of skill when they were at a roughly evenly matched level of power.
Granted, that didn't mean that she wouldn't utilize a few tricks of her own to try and pull one over on him. One had to be ready for just about anything out there in the field. Just like she'd learned the other day with that...thing...out in Bayside. Xion had wanted to tame it like a virus. She just wanted it gone from the Net, with all the trouble and danger that it caused. But...that was neither here nor there. She had her own mission to complete now, and this Nightshade wasn't giving her anything to work with.
He didn't want to talk? Fine. He didn't want to ask questions clarifying the mission, or ascertain his own understanding of what it was they were even looking for? Fine. Demerited on her own review of him, which she would certainly pass back to the others on things. She wondered if he had been this way with any of the others too, or if he was only being standoffish to her because she wasn't technically employed by the ONB.
Then again, that didn't much matter. She regularly worked with Serix, who was ex-ONB, and Xion, who she was amazed wasn't wanted by the ONB. They had often questioned her decisions on these matters but at the end of the day, she kept the two of them in line from doing anything too destructive, though she rarely worked with the both of them together. When she did, it was quite a bit harder to keep both sets of destructive tendencies in line. But regardless, their raw power often gave the results that she was after, and so her contacts at the ONB never questioned her decisions on that regard, or if there did happen to be some collateral damage, she just took it out of her pay.
But this smug little cat was trying to show off, she was pretty certain. Granted, she didn't miss his eyes flickering over the field, the item she'd placed into the ground, or her. He was taking everything in and calculating it all out, trying to find the most efficient tactic available to overcome her in this battle. Granted, that meant very little until she actually saw him start to fight.
"Well, I'll take that silence as a no. All right," she spoke, trying to keep the disdain out of her voice and failing only partially. "I'll let you have the first go, unless you're that type that likes to see his opponent go first so you can feel good about yourself in predicting what they were going to do," she continued, this time not able to stop the streak of irritation from seeping into her words, even as electricity began to dance up her arms in a clear display in exactly what power she represented.

Nightshade stepped forward and lowered his body in his fighting stance. His tail raised slightly while his claws dug in the ground. "You know, it's not exactly the situation where I would talk to someone. Especially if that certain someone is trying to delete me."
His stance was feral looking, like a beast waiting to lunge at its prey. It still retained some resembleance to the typical martial art pose, but with a little more fluff he had added on his own. The cat navi's eyes turned a vibrant green, an obvoius lockon skill. "To be honest, I wouldn't engage you. I see no need to risk my life over something as a skill evaluation. I thought my file had all the information needed."
The Green Gale of the ONB focused down on her once again, ready to strike.

Battle Post: 1/8 Oh he was paranoid. Well, that didn't bode well for her recommendation either. What a sorry sack of data. His combat skills were basic but refined and effective, from what she had read. His file, as he'd stated, had given her quite a bit of information on just about everything that he had to offer.
But seeing something written and actually experiencing it were two very, very different things.
"I don't know what sort of...upbringing you had to be convinced that someone who is partnered with the very corporation that you work for would be out to delete you, but I can at least guarantee to you that such is not my intention. Granted, you won't believe me anyway, but that's your fault, not mine. Or rather, it's the ONB's fault if they didn't provide to you all the documentation for this field test, as it were. All that paperwork is why I can't stand working for them directly," the woman said, shaking her head, before her gaze moved back to Nightshade. "I don't really care how you feel about this in either case. The ONB gave me their request and I accepted, and in order to test how you do in a life-or-death scenario, I'm going to come at you with everything I have, so if you'd like a worthy commendation from a seasoned and respected individual, you had better do your best."
She was trying. She was really trying not to be irritable towards him, but his standoffish nature and his general 'tryhard' persona that he was giving off made it very difficult. These types of people were always the most annoying, to her. That K-unit was the same way, and so too was Serix from time to time, but the fiery woman had reined that in quite a bit. But this one...even his name felt a little edgy, like he was trying too hard to be something 'cool.'
Kajira didn't know, and didn't care. She was here to perform her evaluation of his abilities to see if he was fit for the same level of missions that she herself carried out when they didn't have the manpower to handle something, or if it was too delicate for the ONB to touch 'officially.'
Lifting her hand skyward, the storm above began to rumble harder. "I imagine you did just as much research on me. Or at least, I had hoped that you would and had come prepared accordingly," she spoke, the energy from the storm itself beginning to swell around her in a thin veil, before a bolt of lightning crashed down around her, lighting up the area with a blinding flash of light and energy. From that explosion of force came a singular bolt of lightning...and then another. And then another. And then it was a tributary of electrical energy as Kajira darted to the side, quick and nimble that she was.
The lightning danced over her form, the woman being one with it, even as it powered her entire form. She wanted to see how he moved, how he reacted, and what he prioritized as she flickered from sight, appearing back near the middle of the battlefield to give herself the greatest range of motion as she spread her hands. Two searing bolts of electricity shot forth from her palms, aimed at Nightshade. One aimed at his lower torso, one at his upper. He would avoid them, rather than take them head on, but by the same token, he would move in such a way to let her know what part of him he favored. What part of him he was protecting...and she was quite curious to pick him apart from start to finish.

In an instant Nightshade was up in her business, already spinning around to deliver his trademark clawed kick straight to her. He was fast. He didn't even wait her to finish charging up. He took the two flying bolts like it was nothing, not even phased. "I don't need your approval to know of my own skill. Your words are as empty as your attacks to me. You also talk too much."
The sheer amount of venom seeping from his statement could rival Nebula Grey's darknesss itself. The file did say that the cat navi despised people looking him down and acting all high and almighty. What it didn't state was the sheer pressure of his eyes were able to. His piercing gaze would go straight through anyone's soul, to the point of just being described as a death stare.
As soon as his claws touched the ground from his jumping roundhouse kick he hopped away like a spring. Three backflips in quick succession granted him the clearance he needed without turning his back at the enemy. A black sphere popped into existance, was flung and detonated not long after near Kajira's position. A huge flash of black and green covered up a rather large area, shaking the trees around a little.
"So that thing is really affecting my speed and agility. Hmpf. It will come in handy later. Don't let your guard down, Nighty."
A metallic shriek and Nightshade's serrated claws were deployed. He charged in again, flying towards the opponent at full speed.
"Shut up and get on with it!"

Battle Post: 2 Kajira's battle experience made itself very well known as Nightshade flickered up to her, the cat-like creature as fast as the records stated. However, he wasn't too fast for her. She had fought against a number of opponents that had all prided themselves upon their speed and while Kajira had lost to some of them, she had always learned from them, fought them again and succeeded.
This, however, was not a fight to deletion, much as she might make it so. She wanted to push him to his limits, to see what he was made of. Her own movements were a little sluggish compared to what she was used to...but that put her on an even playing field with this cat-like navi, rather than simply shutting him down as she could have if she hadn't placed down the Equalizer.
As his claw-like kick slammed into the barrier that had formed around her, Kajira's brilliant yellow eyes merely followed his movements. She wasn't under duress, wasn't concerned, wasn't yet impressed by this navi and what he could do. Interestingly enough he had simply taken the electricity without batting an eyelash. He was certainly one with Shadow. Xion did the exact same thing, and it was just as annoying now as it was then.
The spheres, she'd seen too and simply released a bolt of lightning at it as he threw it, causing the sphere to detonate some distance from her, the woman's gaze moving back to the other. His speed was his strength, but also his weakness. He relied on it far too much. It was good to utilize your strengths in battle, but once they became a crutch, it was easy to simply shut that part of the navi down...and without it, he had nothing.
Of course, saying she was going to cut his speed and then actually doing such were two very different things.
As he approached in his breakneck speed, Kajira formed a thin wall of water from the rain gently pattering down around them even as she flickered back, staying out of his range, and hopefully bringing him out on the other side a soaked cat. "Your records say you're tactical but so far all I see is a foolhardy young navi who has no other tricks besides his speed," she spoke, before gesturing to the side, where a large, iron pillar began to emerge from the ground. At her command, a lightning bolt dropped from the sky, causing electricity to pulse through it, and a link was established between it and Kajira, filling her with more of the raw power of the storm above.
"I'm frankly disappointed, so far. Show me that you're better than what's written on a piece of paper," she commanded, mostly readying herself for an onslaught as yet another spire began to pull up from the ground as her gaze watched him with expectant curiosity. She was picking him apart, in her mind. She saw the movements he made when he was going to rush forward. The way his claws bit into the ground to give him that added traction, the way his form moved to cut down on wind resistance. He'd need to try something other than just coming straight at her if he wanted to secure a hit.

Nightshade skidded to a complete stop five meters before his target with a combat roll and snapped his fingers. A detonation occurred right behind Kajira with the intent of propelling her forward towards him. He had thrown a second shpere at her before she made the first explode. Of course, she wouldn't be able to see it. In an act of overconfidence, she had been tunnel visioning with onto Nightshade. And he made sure her eyes were locked onto him.
With the first backflip, he placed the sphere on the ground and then flicked it through her legs while keeping her distracted. The speed at which it did it made it even more difficult to spot. Good thing he omitted sleight of hand from his dossier. And good thing he was good at improvising and faking. Double guessing wouldn't work on him either.
If all would go according to what he envisioned he would be able to catch her midflight and kick her into the ground, before jumping away to avoid retaliation.

Battle Post: 3 Kajira was indeed unaware of the bomb behind her, but there was thankfully a guardian angel of a sort that was aware of it. A gout of water suddenly descended from above, causing the explosion's effect to be mostly muted, save for a rush of water that caused her outfit to become more than a little bit soaked.
The force still caused her to stumble a step forward, but she had a great deal more balance than she would have had before, though this was also in part to the data of The Storm that surrounded her at all times to help keep her safe from harm...but she had definitely been caught off-guard with that little trick of his. "You're not supposed to be here, Thunders," she called out. From above, a small Weather virus simply floated over the battlefield. Unlike most, the coat that it wore was a deep black, and the hat that was atop its head was fairly large, covering its face and eyes from view, even as it gave a small sound of consternation from its masters words.
Kajira's gaze moved back to Nightshade then, watching him. "Well then. Trick me once, shame on you," she responded, even as a third spire began to load itself up from the ground. From above, bolts of lightning continued to fall upon them, causing the edifices to nearly pulse with electrical energy. She was about at sixty percent now. She was curious if he could still handle the power of her point-black electrical blasts at this point or not.
Raising a hand, the storm above turned from its normal deep grey to something streaked with purple. Ominous, and dangerous too as the thunder rumbled above, almost a little more...angry, than before.
It was time to see just how well his dodging worked.
From above, electricity cascaded downward in a series of lightning bolts, even as Kajira began to let the electrical energy dart up her own body. And then, much like Nightshade, she moved at a breakneck speed, moving toward him in an attempt to just touch him, letting the release of explosive electrical energy out in a burst that had single-handedly dropped the likes of many navi before him. The power behind it, he would tell, was well over twice as powerful as it had been a few moments ago and carried with it a fair bit more danger.
But putting her into melee range would also let him fight at full effectiveness, so was she testing him or was it perhaps just another stage of the test...or was it a gambit?
He would have to decide and see.

Nightshade didn't espect such quick reaction. He tried to dodge the blow, but he was hit by it. He gritted his teeth in pain as he was sent skidding and rolling across the ground, coming to a stop a few meters from his starting location. He struggled to raise himself up again. He slumped on the ground again not long after, his whole body sore.

Battle Post: 4 The attack had struck home, and Kajira could tell that the strike had hit a bit harder than she'd intended it to. Oh well- that was mostly a learning experience for the cat. She herself was already a little off on her feet. The constant attacks coming in had started to eat through her defenses and the energy of The Storm wasn't going to keep them at bay forever.
"You've got more than that in you, Cat. Even if that was one of your lives, you've got eight more, I'm sure." The whole of the situation was interesting, for Kajira. He seemed very much like she was, in that of a glass cannon. As soon as a single attack hit, their entire world would start to fall apart. But she couldn't end the exam this early- she had to at least rouse him to action for a moment.
She glanced up, where Thunders was still floating around. "Can you behave and go somewhere else?" she asked, but the little creature simply floated in place, not bothering to move. Exhaling, she brought her gaze back down to Nightshade, giving him the time he needed to recuperate. "We'll start round two. Make it as good as round one," she spoke, lightning beginning to flare up her arm. Granted if he didn't get up, she'd fire a few bolts in his direction to see if that started any engines.

...Cold. Why was he feeling cold? Oh, right. He was face first in the mud. What...happened? Did he die? Was he already dead and not realizing it fully? Nah. He couldn't be dead. His NetOp told him dying was bloody, messy thing. And he didn't want to die either.
Nightshade slowly stood on all fours, the cold rain soaking him wet and washing away the mud.
His blue eyes pierced the darkness, locking back onto his opponent. That cocky pose, and her continuows know it all blabbing was really starting to make his blood boil. "You think this is some sort of game? Uh? Why of course...why would you be any different from them. Now I know why they wanted to test me. It's always like that. The..."cat"... is too weak...the cat is too scared. The cat is not good with people...too shy...too awkward."
Nightshade rose from the ground and wobbled back on his two clawed feet, digging them further into the ground. Then, he focused. Not on the enemy, not on the stage, but onto himself. He was letting her under his skin. He needed to remain calm.
Thump.....thump.....thump.....
He could hear his "heart" going. Then, many other small things added to the symphony. Colors, smells, sounds...he would soon exclude the exterior ones and have only his own clear in his mind.
His body relaxed. His long, thin tail slowed down his wagging and lowered. His arms and legs overcome by a tingling feeling. The storm otside flashed with its lightnings and roared with his thunders. Then, a cold breeze would blow over the field, while the rain still poured copious from the sky.
Focus. Fight. Win.
Suddenly, some sort of unknown pressure showed itself onto the battlefield. It would move a few pebbles and crack the ground beneath Nightshade's metallic feet claws."I won't allow you to mock me any further. Of one thing you can be sure though. Untill my body is dry, may it be destroyed to the last byte I will keep on fighting..."
The wind picked up speed.
It would be moments before this pressure could be tied to the cat navi's now surging power. It could be read as a physical manifestation of his willpower, its sheer strength enough to show itself using Nightshade's energy as a conduit.
"'TILL HELL FREEZES OVER!"
Then, the slow buildup exploded. All the pressure would be released in an instant, Nightshade's colors changed into bright white and greens. His undersuit would shine of his newfound purity, while his armor would bathe the surroundings in the deep emerald green hue coming off its rerflections. The ground changed into a thick layer of ice, the air around Nightshade so cold it would turn rain into snow.
Now that was something not written on the file! Although it was known around the ONB. Nightshade had rarely showed he possessed the willpower and determination needed to reach such level of power, but when he did, it had been a remarkable demonstration of fighting prowess. Flowing through the battlefield, a green blur would make short work of the usual virus problem, even in greater numbers. A wind of destruction, always hitting his mark.
The few that saw it had called him the Green Gale.
The navi made a single, light yet slow step forward and the- he was aready in Kajira's face! He was twice...no three...not even the narrator himself knows how fast he zig zagged across the battlefield. It almost seemed like he had some sort of warping, some sort of Instant Transmission powers, even though he obviously didn't. He was up in the air now, pouncing at the opponent faster than ever. His tail flicked, redirecting momentum into a spin. If Kajira did react fast enough, a clawed kick would meet her face very, very, very hard.

Battle Post: 5 Kajira watched with a slight impassive expression as the other simply lay down on the ground. Had she fired with too much power? No, not really. She was only using three of the five spires. Sixty percent of her raw power wasn't enough to put him down with a single attack, was it? Had she overestimated him and what he could do? If so, that was fairly...sad. He had the speed to fire on all cylinders, despite her constant nagging of him.
Eventually, she stood, and she moved a hand to her hip, merely watching with an amused expression on her face. "A game? Of a sort, I suppose," she responded, even as Nightshade continued ranting to himself. She picked up bits and pieces of what was said, but most of it was lost in the wave of his own anger. Apparently being called 'the cat' was a trigger for him. She'd have to notate that in his file. K-414 had once looked at her when she'd called him 'the dog' but had been mostly okay with it.
He didn't answer her, merely standing alone, seeming to focus inward, on drawing out some sort of inner strength. This was interesting, and Kajira merely watched, while absently forming a barrier of energy before her. The fact of the matter was, that she knew that when people tended to do this, they were going to unleash something big in a moment. And of all things, she didn't want to be caught off-guard by such a thing. That would spell disaster for her, almost certainly.
Still, the tense nature of Nightshade seemed to fade from him, like the drizzling rain was washing off a layer of dirt from him. He stood relaxed, despite having been put down into the ground by the lightning bolt. And then something she'd seen before started to occur, and the woman gave a small sound of discontent. "Tch." Seeing the landscape itself start to buckle at his influx of strength meant that the notes regarding this so called 'Elevated Power' that she'd seen notes on in his files weren't just bluster. He did have something more and she had seen it on multiple others as well, in her time. It was something that she had never tasted herself...and did not want to deal with it.
Unfortunately, she had no choice in the matter.
Nightshade had continued to speak through this, even as the sky cackled overhead, and the power of the creature made itself known. She was...curious at what he could do, now. It wasn't like Serix was, who got excited at the sheer prospect of fighting against someone who was stronger, but simply just a curiosity. She was known for being far too curious for her own good, which had landed her friendship, and perhaps a bit more, with Xion. She had spat in his face when he'd beaten her, curious on what that man of darkness had as far as his reasonings and found them strangely...sound, in their origin. Not to the same level that the man did, of course, but she found some sooth in his words.
Her own inner thoughts were broken then, as the effective 'power up' that Nightshade had been going through suddenly released its energy. The entire creature had changed into another entirely, it felt like. Something akin to a Lightshade, if nothing more. "Cute," Kajira murmured at his mention of hell freezing over as the landscape beneath them turned to ice. She wasn't entirely unused to fighting on it, and the synnergy with her lightning was more than welcome, though she was certain he had different plans altogether for it.
Seeing this though was...interesting. Their powers were matched here at based, due to the field, but the fact of the matter was, that he had surpassed that. How quaint. That was going to spell trouble for her. The woman wasn't exactly willing to just let this happen, but at the same time, it wouldn't be an accurate test if she disabled the field and set them back to their original strengths. She was also curious to see-
Kajira didn't even have time to react as the clawed foot slammed into, and then through the barrier that she'd erected. It had taken the edge off of the force, but the majority of it had still leaked through, slamming into her face. The woman was flying backward before she even realized what was going on. Her eyes widened as she struck the back wall of the field that they were in, dropping to the ground a moment later.
Nightshade would notice a streak of black move through the electricity that encompassed her before it was gone. "Good, good. That's what I expected to see," she spoke, standing back up, before two more of the spires began to emerge from the ground. The cold iron figures were now glowing with contained electricity, all of them feeding back into Kajira. "All right then. Let's turn things up," she spoke, before sending a wide spread of electricity out toward Nightshade. It wasn't meant to deal a lot of damage on its own, but would hopefully pidgeon-hole him. Even with his resistances, with all five spires powering her attacks, he couldn't just 'take one' and be done with it, even with this enhanced form of his.
Or so she hoped.
Depending on his actions, she had another bolt coming down directly from the sky, aimed at him as well, to catch him from both directions. The one above, however, was packing significantly more power.

Nightshade would use the icy stage to his advantage. The reduced draw would make him slide forward, which was both a blessing and a curse. A blessing, because he was able to flawlessly dodge the first attack...right into the other. The lightning struck true but the cat was still standing when the smoke cleared. Somehow he had been able to mitigate the damage to the point where it was mostly forgettable? No, it was something else. He dodged that as well. He was covered in scruff and scratches everywhere, but he was still in the fight. Not only that but he seemed to have recieved mild upgrades to the healing factor, as he was slowly regenerating himself over time.
"You got pretty high standards there uh?" He casually commented "If you think this is all the Green Gale has to offer you are in for a surpise..."
With his next attack he would aim at her right side. Once in range he would suddenly change direction. What would have been a simple blow coming from the right would insted hit from the left side. He wasn't sparing her anything. The claws he used to fight would be incredibly good in ripping, tearing and gutting Kajira's data should they be successfully sunk in her body. Nightshade didn't care about sportmanship anymore. He was out for her blood. And he would not stop attacking. He would come at her again, and again and again. He was mostly aiming to get as much hits on her as possible rather than a single calculated attack.
Could the cat even be better than the dog himself when it came to relentless assault?

The whole of the situation for Kajira was interesting. The resistance to her electricity was not something that she had counted on, and the cat's ability to simply keep coming in for an attack again and again was...a touch mystifying to her. Not in the fact that it was impossible- she simply hadn't seen the build and design of this navi to be quite so...resilient. But even so, that speed was likely serving him well. While Kajira herself didn't quite "punch" per se, Nightshade himself was still able to roll with them quite well. The attacks that landed he was able to mitigate the majority of the effects, and it didn't hurt either that this newfound energy that he had coursing through him was helping as well.
"The NeONB needs strength, right now. It's had a number of upsets and if you're part of them, I want to make sure that you're willing and able to give everything to them in order to succeed." The woman's words, however, were cut short then as the feline navi darted inward, aiming a strike to her right side. The woman built up a defensive bit of energy, low pressure of thunder emanated, when Nightshade switched his tactics, coming in from the left. Thankfully, there was no feint, but even so, his speed made it difficult for her to fully defend against. She shifted, turning her body as she threw the condensed thunder toward her left side.
The attack was slowed enough that she was able to dart away, keeping somewhat on the defensive as the electricity within her continued to build. He hadn't targeted her spires in the slightest, which was fine- that just gave her more firepower. The creature wasn't stopping in his assault, and so Kajira decided to see about trading a blow. She couldn't keep on the defensive forever, and so she took that gathered electricity into her body, leaving it open for an attack from Nightshade.
Would he still continue to press the assault, he would feel as if he were striking raw electricity itself, but even so, Kajira wasn't simply taking the attacks openly. Much as he was, she was diverting them slightly, avoiding areas of import and letting the majority of the damage from him strike her limbs, which, if he continued, would leave them a shredded mess, but on the otherside, he would be tasting electricity of the highest degree with every single connection.
Things were reaching an end- this would need to find a conclusion, and soon.
