PlagueMan.ERR
{
--Appearance
Usually, the Pandemic Hivemind is an amassed conglomerate of oscilating colors and lead plating constantly shifted by the glitches that wjugst their code. Without his Hivemind, however, the true PlagueMan at the hivemind's core is reduced to little more than a red sphere of raw, condensed data, the single operand file creating a veritable cloud of static and glitched air as it creates trillions upon trillions of bugged bytes per second. No longer created and instantly bound to the collective, the cloud of glitched data is less created as individual Navis and now act more as carefully controlled bugged data points. They exist for but a moment before fizzling out into the cloud of static that surrounds them, but, in that moment, he can create dataforms and manipulate his bugged data at his whims. Even disconnected from his hivemind, he can control the bugged data round him.
--Personality
PlagueMan is a highly intelligent, incredibly coercive Navi at the center of an incredibly intricate and highly complicated bugged hive mind, the original member, PlagueMan himself, being the alpha of the collective. The bugged information that correlates throughout their intricate Network, regulated across all pathways to all members, regardless of whether or not they are in the Alpha Collective, is all passed through the Alpha before it goes anywhere else.
Without a collective to control, however, PlagueMan's ideals are paramount - as they are all he has left. Struggling from his creation against his purpose as a literal digital bioweapon, he strives to protect, aid, and heal in any way he can, while passing pandemic judgment upon any who stand in his way. His resolve is paramount and unshaking, having gone as far as to sacrifice his connection to his collective mind to ensure the safety of millions, and to ensure that no one could ever use him as the bioweapon he was intended to be. He cares more for other's survival than his own.
--Background
Pandemic.EXE was a program created by a microbiologist that wanted to take his specialization - disease - and weaponize it on the Net. Without realizing it, he had put together all the pieces necessary to create another Cybeast, as his base design was a simple program that not only created a Navi but infinitely looped back on itself to create more. A simple conglomerate of Navis would not create the dangers of a Cybeast, though; no, the cherry on the digital cake was that the infinite loop of data was an error within the code. It wasn't designed with the loop in mind; it was only supposed to be one Navi. The core of the Navi, of the Pandemic Program, solidified and took digital form as the condensed ball of red that calls itself PlagueMan. All of the parts that would allow the potential Cybeast to create bugged anomalies on the net, control them and, in some cases, even give them physical form outside of simple glitches, were stored within that core of the program. The part of the program that infinitely replicated, constantly created . . . it pumped out Navis that were only a byte large in file size, and every inch of their binary code was riddled with the same error that created them. The infinitely moving cloud of bugged static around the red sphere are millions upon millions of Navis being spawned into life and nearly instantly fizzling out from their fatal designs. Worse even for the scientist, was that the programmed soul code was a gigantic failure - his weapon did not want to be a weapon. His weapon's constantly evolving codes developed a personality trait that he could've never intended - compassion for others, and disdain for itself.
Pandemic was no name for them, and the collective refused to connect themselves to their creator. After almost being deleted and fleeing their maker's lab, they dubbed themselves PlagueMan. The diseased, bugged hivemind was fighting for its own life, struggling to understand the world it had been dropped into, with the only things in its head being a primal command to infect and destroy and a desire to survive and save. Its prime directive and own desires contradicted itself, and the program's errors nearly tore it apart - the first few years of its life was spent roiling about in madness within its code, trying to solve its fatal errors.
PlagueMan finally came to accept that there were parts of him that he would always have to fight back. The desire and ability to infect and destroy could not be destroyed; it could not be appeased, but, he also had to accept that it was part of who he was. It could be used if he could learn to control it. The majority of his conscious time is spent downsizing the negative effects he has on the Net around him, so, the minute changes he causes for being in an environment could be vastly worse. It's like being acutely aware that, given the wrong state of mind, he could rend the world around him to pieces. He is comprised of a veritable Antimatter that rips up and corrupts everything it touches; it bothers him. But he wants to be able to help.
He learned that by bonding with others, he can use his similarities to microorganisms to implant parts of his code into their being, but, he has to be careful. He can cause their code to rapidly replicate and regenerate, allowing him to heal them, simply by putting in the part of the code that he has in himself that causes his cells to reproduce like cancer. That's dangerous for his hosts, though, so, as part of his bonding, he also takes on all of their downsides, forcibly taking their own glitched programming into himself. The more he suffers, the more they benefit; their downsides and detriments became his own, and it makes them stronger for it.
PlagueMan lived by feeding on others. Connected to a single host, his whole hivemind would need a massive amount of that host's resources to survive, but, because it had its way to create additional copies of itself, it didn't need to use the other host's files for its survival. It just needed a place to live in peace; a few members of its collective lived inside of the Navis they met, and floated about in the Networks it had occupied, taking up residence within the code of buildings, benches, the clouds, the ground. With so many of their members in so many places, the whole of the collective never really had to hurt anyone to stay alive . . . except for when they did. To fight for their survival.
It was a thrill that they had to abstain from. Fighting others, giving in to that side of them that can truly hurt people . . . it brought out a side in them that they weren't proud of. They muchly preferred to stay within others and keep them alive, as opposed to harming the enemies. It was too much for them to handle; the feeling of another individual's code being forcefully corrupted and eaten away, joining their collective or falling prey to the pandemic . . . it felt too good. Instead, they stayed inside. Silently supported, and watched, hoping their allies could prevail without them.
When the Permanent Deletion Crisis began, PlagueMan thought that they of all Navis would be safe. Their most essential code was protected by layers upon layers of other members of their collective, and their most essential code was designed with the intent of implementing measures against a Navi that rapidly destroyed itself. They were used to falling apart because they didn't need to regrow anything. They just needed to regroup.
That was, until, they came out of their shell long enough to get hit. One shattering blow from the Armored Destroyer sent out a violent reverberation throughout their entire collective, and trillions upon trillions of individuals they were connected to, and the main alpha of the collective felt every bit of it. In an instant, their previous measures to protect their hosts became a danger - because they were so far spread out, that single punch rocked Networks all over the Net. Navis could have died. It was no longer worth the risk to protect their entire collective . . . they would rather die than be used as a weapon. Lifting the support network, the trillions of members in their collective fizzled out and died, and they felt every memory in their last moments. Except, they weren't they - they were just him. PlagueMan.
By himself, he could survive off of one host. Resonance was his first. He considers it his fault for not being strong enough to protect him that he was deleted. Now, he takes to Genesis and hopes to do more to protect those that he loves, terrified of what other secrets the group that caused this could have hidden within his code. Terrified of the uncontrollable bursts of his most basic of code, and what it might be doing to his attempts to stave off becoming a weapon . . . terrified of becoming the Net Weapon he was meant to be.
Terrified of becoming Pandemic. This reality was beset to him against his will whenever the good Doctor sent him on his way back to Genesis, who was headed to Sharo at the time. Upon entering Sharo, PlagueMan was beset by the force of his programming, overwhelmed by the intensity of the bugs present within it, and unwillingly reawakened the power of the Pandemic Program within him.

5. [Environmental Adaptation] [X-Tier, Elemental Levels]
PlagueMan's ability to adapt has allowed him to absorb the experiences of thousands upon thousands of his previous collective members, and condense them into additional files for increased survivability.
- PlagueMan gains +5 Elemental Levels.
-- [Passive]
6. [Focused Regeneration] [Advanced]
The core function of the Pandemic Program is the malfunctioning replicator that constantly causes the hivemind to grow.
