Built around and above a massive river's mouth, Bayside City's entire foundation is based on the Aqua element, and everything about it mirrors this fact.
The entire city is built like a mountain: constantly rising along the raging river that flows across it's front. At it's center, a massive tower rises, with a giant waterfall blasting from the rooftop. The artificial river created by this runs as water-ways across the entire city, creating streets of water so to speak. The city is riddled with aquariums and other aqua-based structures, and is constantly kept renewed and refreshed by the countless generators placed within the ocean and rivers across the face of the city.

Finale
Finale couldn't help but smile a little at Serix's proposition, but Warrior's acceptance of his challenge was what caused him to laugh. The whole situation had gone from real - serious too, to almost hilarious in Finale's eyes. A fight already won and a greedy proposition by a greedy woman. Child's play. "So I will." With a running start Finale deftly lept out of the large glass pane behind Remnant, leaving nothing but his coat and shards of shattered glass. With a flash of rainbow light Finale was no more, his body left devoid of life on the hard ground below.
~Record Scratch~ [smear:cccc00]Time begins to tick again...[/smear:00bbbb]
ARAHITOGAMI FINALE
And up flew a reflection of Warrior, but ever so slightly different. The most noticeable was that this reflection had wings, long, very long, lustrous opalescent wings. As this reflection landed back inside the building, further detail could be distinguished. Where Warrior's armour was gold, this thing was platinum white. Another large difference was the visors the reflection wore - black like pearl, similar to those that Warrior used to wear. Shining dimly from under the visors were two grey eyes - the only Remnant of Finale's old body in this new one. As the new Finale approached Warrior it wrapped itself in its wings like a cloak, rainbow afterimages following. Gaining speed as he moved, Finale gripped the sword that was now on his back. This sword - Faith, Hope, Cherish, whatever it was in Warrior's hand was Ruin in Finale's. A horizontal slash at Warrior - one he expected to be met with a parry. The new Finale stared at Warrior, a smile clear as day on his face. "I suppose you're wondering what just happened. You don't deserve an explanation just yet - but maybe if you win I'll give you one." And with that, Finale began an unrelenting flurry of slashes, one after another, Horizontal and Vertical in that pattern. As soon as Finale's blade met Warrior's he had already moved to strike again - hoping to simply wear down his opponent before the real fight began.
" ?! "
Eyes were widened in shock -- not of Finale's change of appearance, but at the sudden coming of his sense back to this int in time.
I felt like he'd dazed off mid-conversation and just come back to it; like he had just been woken up from a lucid daydream; like he'd just detached from a fantasy and found himself back in reality.
He'd seen this scene before, but right now he wasn't seeing it -- he was reliving it!
"Remnant, tell me you aren't really gone..."
No response.
As Finale drew closer to attack, Warrior knew his thoughts wouldn't be loud enough to summon his ally.
"Remnant!"
The lack of response confirmed the nightmare that Warrior had just woken up in. He was truly in this fight alone.
The attack that was expected to be met with a parry (and that was met with one in another universe) instead met its mark in Warrior's gut, digging deep enough to render him disabled right then and there, but the continued onslaught made the defeat all the more certain. Warrior was able to come to his senses and evade some of the incoming flurry of strikes, but enough struck true that Finale's victory was confirmed.
In this reality, the hero lost this battle. In this reality, Bayside City was preserved.
In this reality, Jacob Rayner fell to his knees in his own pool of blood after calling out to a being that was totally forgotten by everybody but himself.
Fear was the force he was to overcome, but it had its reigns on him right now more powerfully than ever before. Still conscious (though barely) and still breathing (though heavily), the defeated hero slowly looked up to the victor as he held his wounded abdomen that continued adding blood to the pond gathering around his knees.
His teeth were showing; they were clenched in anger at his defeat. His brows were raised; they seemed worried and afraid of the circumstance he'd found himself in.
" ... "
What happened next?

“Can you stand?”
Those words came as natural as nature… As natural as Megami walked towards the sight of this scene was as natural as her reaction to what was unfolding. Naturally, she would run to the side of the wounded, naturally wrapping her arm around his shoulder while reaching a hand to his wound, and then trying to help him stand, naturally. As natural as one would expect, she had a gentle smile that assured anyone that they would be okay as the Goddess naturally held the wounded Warrior close and looked to whom he was facing. It seemed like a he was facing…himself?
“I rather not fight…” her hands touching what seemed to be a crimson hue of data, “…not like this.”
As horrified as Megami was, this figure was familiar. She felt it somewhere within! She could not recall a single memory. It was all like a hazy dream, and voices within her was screaming once more. On an ordinary day where she was just picking out another card for her Net Operator, she seemed to be catching a case of Deja’ vu as if standing beside someone in this situation was as common as saying “hello.” In her heart, she rather not relive this moment, no matter if it turned out for the best. She hated seeing someone in pain, and so it prompted her to suggest something so heinous to the nature of the warrior in her tow…
“Do you…” she swallowed and then whispered, “…do you think you can flee?”
Megami was not a fighter. Not at all!
Her Net Operator was mediocre in skill as said by the masses and she only knew nothing about being a proper NetNavi. She felt like a simple civilian that could do nothing of the sort! She had delicate features of a lovely woman who could be caught out on a stroll or living some cliché apple pie life on a couch. She was as sure of that as the burning in her chest that she could not describe as she stroked it, getting a slight headache trying to find out why this burning sensation was all too familiar, but never keeping her eye off the figure.
Naturally, she stayed calm ready to die if it meant saving this warrior in her arms.

Remnant... Hearing that name made Finale wince. The King on Earth stopped, landing in front of Warrior. Something was very wrong, and his eyes were clouded over, as if he had just awaken from a nightmare. He slowed to a halt, the aurora of colourations slowly calming to a grey. Even his wings faded away, until he was just a pale reflection of his opponent. A small, blackened mystery data fell from Finale's pocket, and into the abyss below. Corrupted Mystery Data Data Drained of all power... but it could contain the ultimate power... "Warrior, Remnant - he's gone. You of all people should know this..."His mind racing, Finale knew something was very wrong. Muscle memory dictated that this fight should have gone another way - Warrior was stronger than this. Observing his opponent's critical condition Finale wraps an arm behind the back of his opponent. Finale lifts, as if to help the once proud Warrior beneath him stand. "Can you get up?"Something was wrong in the flow of time.

With Megami and Finale both helping him stand, Warrior was at least able to get to his feet. Naturally, he leaned more to Megami because he trusted her quite a bit more than Finale in this circumstance.
But Finale seemed non-hostile all of the sudden... so thank goodness this didn't proceed the same way Warrior had remembered it happening before. Finale's old intents of poisoning the water of Bayside City (or at least that's what Warrior recalled his intents were, in this scene) seemed to be obsolete as well. Megami's suggestion to retreat was almost taken, but the situation changed pretty dramatically and pretty quickly.
" ... "
"Those unable will not be reborn, but will remain, but not as the same."
Finale and Megami both made that sacrifice for Vinyl just moments prior to this one. Were they reborn?
Warrior refused the sacrifice, and ended up having to sacrifice Remnant instead. But Remnant also accepted Vinyl's sacrifice, just as Finale and Megami had. Was he not also supposed to be reborn?
Or maybe his removal from this dimension was his sacrifice... a far more dear one than anyone else had to make.
"What's going on, Finale? Why are we back here?"
He was still breathing pretty heavily from the loss of blood (a discrepancy that his mind was forcing to have an actual effect on this virtual body), but was able to get the words out between breathes.
If he was the only person here not to be reborn, did the others even remember what just took place a few moments ago, in Kotobuki? Or was this situation different than he presumed?
He'd need to Pulse Out soon to recover from his wounds, but he had to get as much information as possible before he left.

“Oh, is this your friend?”
A gentle gesture to Finale with a shoulder shrug as Megami smiled warmly to the other figure…although he was just malicious moments ago. The Goddess was forgiving, naïve, not to mention ignorant; that’s what made her so loyal. Even then, she helped support Warrior, not knowing whether he was friend or foe in her mind…but some part of her knew. Yes, some part of her heart was familiar with him but only that feeling guided her as she clutched him close with her fingers and stared towards Finale.
“Good evening. I am Megami.EXE, but please forgive my intrusion upon friends, but I am bewildered,” the goddess admitted, “Did you not inflict such wounds on him? How do you do that to such a friend?”
Megami had not belonged in this moment of time. She was simply a civilian helping out another, but she could not help but to feel she needed to be here. Even now, as the situation seemed to calm itself, the goddess did not even realize that she was still holding onto Warrior with such tenderness.

"Friends? I don't have those."
Finale stated bitterly. Those people he considers friends had a tendency to disappear. Ion, Namkcab, Wave, Remnant.
All lost in the sands of time.
Seeing the severity of The Warrior's wounds, Finale places a hand there, a silver-grey glow surrounding the data and forcing the wounds together.
"There, that should do it... why did you stop? You should have parried."

Deimos watches silently from the rooftop, his coat waving slowly in the breeze. He carefully gauges the vial he holds in his hand, the circular glass container holding a chunky green substance. He weighs it one more time in his hand, and then flings it from his grasp. the orb flies downwards towards Warrior, smashing across his body. As soon as it does, the liquid, seeming to have a mind of its own, slides in chunks across his body, heading towards his wounds.
The liquid slides into his slices, turning the colour of Warrior's skin. Deimos flinches as he watches it form into his wounds, filling them out, cutting off the blood spewing from his body. He knows quite well how much it hurts when it's used, but at least it will staunch the flow and keep him breathing. For a while, anyways. The healing factor and adrenaline of the potion will wear off after a couple hours, leaving him a bleeding heap again, but at least he might be somewhere safe.
"Don't waste this chance, Warrior. You are still of use to me."
Deimos looks down at Warrior, resting lightly on his cane, which glints in the twilight.

“Oh, is this your friend?”"
"Not r-- Friends? I don't have those."
" . . . "
Finale beat Warrior to the answer of Megami's question. Judging by the lack of answer to his own question, though... well, he didn't know what to make of that.
"Why did you stop? You should have parried."
"I guess the shock of the situation got to me."
Vinyl... the repairer of the universe. A universe the nearly broke the last time this encounter happened. Was it smart to try to break it again? Or was it wise to take advantage of this second chance and walk away with no harm done this time?
Before he could even think of and answer, a newcomer arrives -- one Warrior certainly didn't remember being here before -- and chunks what he initially presumed to be an attack at him. To weak to evade, Warrior braces for impact as the green orb collides with his body and starts taking its effect.
The pain sent him back to his knees; the seeping into his wounds felt like each one had been re-inflicted tenfold, but it wasn't until the rapid diminishing of pain seconds later that he realized he'd been restored to a healthier position for now.
"Don't waste this chance, Warrior. You are still of use to me."
" . . ? "
He wasn't sure what to make of the new arrival for now. But he honestly wasn't sure what to make of anything right now. Twilight Zone had nothing on what he'd just witnessed within the last ten minutes.
There really wasn't much more to do here.
Nobody else knew what had just happened, Finale went non-hostile, and there were really no more question to ask that pertained to the bigger picture. But there was one person he knew of that might have an answer to what was going on. That person wasn't here right now, though.
"I need to leave now. But I need to know you won't do anything crazy when I do, Finale."
He was indirectly asking Finale to leave first, unless he had a better way of showing him he'd behave. Granted, Megami was a pretty powerful force herself and could probably hold her own against Finale, but she seemed to be acting different, so there was no telling if this Megami was the same Megami (or even as strong as the Megami) he remembered. The same could be said of Finale right now, too.

"Friends? I don't have those."
“Oh! I see…I think…?”
Truth be told, no.
Megami did not see what this NetNavi meant, or what to make of their f-…partnership, maybe? It made her lower her head slightly, in deep though, feeling foolish of not being able to comprehend this relationship. As usual, she felt she did not fit in; did not understand the complex relationships of the world. Before she could even lift a finger to say something, their further exchange of words further confused things.
“They are speaking like friends…” she thought, “But yet…they are not.”
Everything in this world that had to be with people was so confusing; and she still felt like a child.
Megami understood pain well! Enough to reach for Warrior once again as he near collapsed to his knees. Her hand reached over attempting to comfort him. She had no healing type abilities she could share, and it put her in a bind. She closed her eyes, attempting to access the library of data within her and she could see…Dark chips? Why was that even there? There were anomalies…she could feel them! Not just the darkness but something else within her….deep within. However, the Dark Chip within her tempted her…she swallowed…wondering if this would be enough to heal-
"Don't waste this chance, Warrior. You are still of use to me."
…he was all better? Megami carefully watched this: his wound slowing the speed of this strange running data, his change in expression. However, the words of this stranger were ominous…familiar…chilling…
…suddenly…she thought she knew why as she gasped!
“Excuse me sir, a-are you….a PERVERT!” Megami pointed her finger to the new arrival with wide eyes and terror that made her seem like she had seen a rumored monster right before her, “Xen-kun says that…people who usually do nice things and say something like ‘being use to someone’ are perverts at times that want to…touch others…or something of that accord! I am not sure why…but it sounds dangerous!”
As usual…she was far out of the loop. It was only Warrior’s usual…wait…how did she know it was usual? Either way, this familiar feeling of going off on his own and not letting someone show concern…it was something that troubled her. “Leaving? To your P.E.T.?” Megami asked, “That is wise, but is there anything my Net Op and I can do for you? Xen-kun is a little hurt, but perhaps we can check on you later? I-I just…think…it would be wise to have a friend close by.”
Genuine concern for a genuine stranger…but this feeling of familiarity was so…genuine.

"Ugh."
A sudden fog came over Finale's conscious, infinite grey clouding his mind. Something in the back of his head said that Warrior wouldn't be returning to a PET, but, what exactly was meant was entirely unknown to the viral being. Up on this spire, above the waters below, Finale stood, and took a moment to step away from his 'friend'. Clutching his face where his mask ought to be.
With his other hand he holds out Warrior's copied sword, using his mastery over the wind element to float the thing in the air. From the holster those gun-knives that Warrior used to use floated towards the sword, a burning of metal and cobalt smoke later, Finale held his new Multi-Action Gunblade.
Perdition.
Listening to the masked Deimos make his entrance "You are still of use to me..."
Finale's lips pursed with disgust. People making use of others, like slaves or servants, no better than those ONB dogs that ruled the world and tyrannized the people.
Turning again towards the newcomer, Finale points his blade towards Deimos.
"I'll sooner be King of Nothing than let you use people. This is your warning."
Behind Finale, the night began to fade and sunlight began to peek through the mountainous ranges. The sun was rising.
Nodding to Warrior to get out of here, Finale waited.

Deimos looks down at Finale from the rooftop, looking back and forth from him to Warrior. Deimos instantly knew he was a cruel doppelganger, a simple rift, made to take the form of it's target. His grey colour sets him apart, letting Deimos know who the true Warrior is. The doppelganger slowly raises a sword towards him, threatening him menacingly.
"I'll sooner be King of Nothing than let you use people. This is your warning."
Deimos twirls his cane, and then launches himself off the edge of the building. He travels down it, digging the sharp metal point at the end of his cane into the wall, allowing him to travel down the building. He does it gracefully, spinning and twirling around his cane as he reaches the ground. He lands on one knee, then quickly brings himself to full height. He slowly straightens his hat, then begins to approach them.
He can see the feeling of unease between all of them, their weapons ready to strike him down. He knew he only had one shot at this, and having a doppelganger to aid him in his plan would increase the odds of succession tenfold.
"Peace, virus. I have not come here to cause trouble. I have come here to ask for your aid."
Deimos approaches them, his old plague doctor mask covered in dirt, grime and cuts. His remembers his battles well, and he knows that many more will follow in the future. But for now, he knows that he cannot complete his mission on his own.
"I have watched you all for quite some time. You may not have noticed me, but I was always there. Waiting. Watching you become the fighters I need."
Deimos knew just by their faces that they wouldn't believe him, so he recalled one of his favourite events.
"The rainbow devil. You must remember it. I know I do. Your use of dark chips saved both of you."
He knows that if he didn't make his point soon, the others would not aid him in his plan.
"As much as I dislike having to drag others into this... I need to ask your help in a personal matter of mine."

Hexcillia looks over the edge of the building and sighs heavily, then jumps off the edge and spins and flips then lands gracefully beside Deimos.
"Listen to what Deimos has to say."
She waits prepared to parry an attack.

Xenneth was a primary concern, but Megami could not abandon someone in need.
There were many concerns that come to her mind right now. The dark chips, this situation with this total stranger, not to mention the throbbing pain upon her chest as she stroked the place above her bosom once more. She winced as her eyes went down for a moment to see…what is this? Megami tugged at her clothing seeing the dark diamond shaped mark upon her flesh. She was horrified, confused, but still…she could not stop thinking about this stuation.
…she could not abandon someone in need, even if she herself was in need.
“W-wait! Please…my friend-” Megami begun but stopped. Why did she call him a friend? She looked at Warrior, paused, but then looked to the two NetNavis once more, “My friend needs to heal. Can this not wait until later? Surely, if someone is of such…’use’ to you both…then it is only proper then he sit here not to suffer because of your needs. There is nothing that should justify…anything like that.”
Megami was genuinely saddened. Out of all things that remained of her foggy memory, she was absolutely sure that these words were right. To show her persistence, her supportive embrace of Warrior turned into a grappling, overbearing grasp as she drew him close. Her face almost was menacing as if to say ‘Go through me!’ if anything. Xenneth was a primary concern, and he was a love she could not ever abandon…however…
…she could not abandon a friend; even if he was a total stranger.
“Finale…was your name, yes?” Megami asked looking to the NetNavi across from her. She was not certain on his position, but such an expression after hearing the NetNavi’s words, she wanted to believe in his authenticity. “Surely, you agree, yes? Your friend needs help…” she fished for support. Megami was strong, no doubt, but she could not help but to reach for that part that believed in the good in people.

“W-wait! Please…my friend-”
Friend? Now there was something he didn't expect to hear, and certainly not from them. Deimos' life has kept him separated from people, let alone friends. The word seemed foreign to him. The meaning lost in the scars...
“My friend needs to heal. Can this not wait until later? Surely, if someone is of such…’use’ to you both…then it is only proper then he sit here not to suffer because of your needs. There is nothing that should justify…anything like that.”
Deimos looks down at Warrior, kneeling in pain, embraced by Megami. The blood left from his wounds is slowly drying on the pavement.
"I have come here ask for help from all of you, not just Warrior. I do not require all of you, but I do require your assistance in a very personal matter."
Deimos slowly looks down at his feet, lets out a loud sigh, and asks them a question that would chill anyone to the bone.
"Do you remember the genocide in Bayside Square? They used an experimental gas to kill hundreds of unsuspecting civilians. A masked person was blamed as the murderer. Someone in black. Can you guess as to who this person is?"
